Getting Started with Online-to-Offline Measurementbrandonwishnow
Although most marketers would agree that online-to-offline measurement is important for the future success of their business, it’s hard to know what steps to take to adopt this strategic initiative.
Ovative/group has found that when done correctly, online-to-offline addresses many of the most complex business problems by providing answers to questions such as: What is the impact of an online visit on offline sales? Does this impact vary by category or product type? What marketing channels influence offline most? And, can I use these channels to drive offline acquisition?
But how do you get started and ensure online-to-offline is a success for your organization? After attending this webinar featuring Ovative/group and LiveRamp you’ll understand:
– Why online-to-offline is important and how to prioritize it among other strategic initiatives
– Who within your organization needs to be involved and how to structure your team
– What technology is required to build online-to-offline measurement capabilities
– How to make digital marketing decisions based on enterprise metrics

User Experience has a direct impact on your bottom line, and it’s about time we start telling execs in their own language. I’m sure many of you spend a good amount of time evangelizing what it is that you do, and the value it adds. Over the past 15 years I’ve introduced User Experience to everyone from CEOs to developers — using storytelling, metrics, and case studies you can prove without a doubt the value that you bring.
In this talk I’ll explain what metrics to track, how to position your work, and stories where User Experience directly effected the bottom line.
This deck was part of our presentation "Putting Digital Back in the Boardroom" delivered by Adam Abrahami, Managing Director, iris Concise at Social Media Week New York 2017.
You know the story too well. You have a great idea. You sell it in and secure the budgets. Your team deliver the best campaign you’ve ever seen. Your boss asks you how it performed. You ask your team how it performed. Three weeks later you receive a report. It talks about site visits, it talks about bounce rate, it talks about likes, shares, comments. You excitedly take it to your boss.
She looks at you with a bemused look on her face…
“What does this all mean?”
You tell her that it’s beating industry benchmarks. It’s going viral. It’s trending!
“What is it doing for the business though?”
In this era of marketing transparency everyone expects to receive tangible sales information as part of your post-campaign reports. It’s not always available. How do you package up your performance metrics in a way that has resonance at a board level? How do you get your show-stopping, award-winning, best-in-class campaign the kudos it deserves? How do you make small scale activities interesting to executives?
iris Worldwide approach these situations with the help of their in-house management consultancy iris Concise. Together, this deck will be taking you through the frameworks, approaches, and strategies used to develop campaign KPIs, measurement metrics, and reports that executives not only pay attention to, but talk about.
If you’re looking to have your work get more interest internally, or find ways to present your campaign performance in a way that makes your clients look better than ever before, this workshop is for you.
In this presentation, we delve into the power of AI in revolutionizing sales and marketing, with a focus on lead generation and cost optimization. As the search landscape evolves, the future of Google driving high volumes of website traffic is uncertain with the rise of LLMs, making AI's role even more significant. While only 3.7% of Canadian businesses have deployed AI, its adoption is critical for staying competitive. We'll discuss a step-by-step approach to AI integration, highlighting essential tools and the importance of proper training. From lead processing to content creation, AI emerges as a game-changer, significantly improving efficiency and quality. The core message is clear: AI is no longer an option but a component for modern marketing success, transforming how we approach sales and marketing. By carefully planning the steps, leveraging the right tools, and investing in training, businesses can harness AI's transformative power and gain a competitive edge.
Key Takeaways:
AI changes everything. AI is revolutionizing lead generation and cost savings in sales and marketing operations.
The rise of large language models (LLMs) is challenging Google's dominance in driving website traffic, making AI adoption even more crucial.
Despite the low adoption rate (only 3.7% of Canadian businesses using AI), integrating AI is critical for staying competitive.
A step-by-step approach is needed for successful AI integration, along with leveraging the right tools and providing proper training.AI is a game-changer for lead generation, content creation, and overall process efficiency and quality improvement.AI is no longer an optional tool but a fundamental component for modern marketing success.
Careful planning, using the right AI tools, and investing in training can help businesses harness AI's transformative power and gain a competitive edge.

Apps keep small business owners
and their employees out of the
accounting software, which is
returning to it's natural home, the
domain of the
accountant/bookkeepers.
It's Software as a Service (SaaS).
Service is all that matters.
Commodity apps will get cheaper
in price, niche apps will increase
prices.
It's not a conversion from desktop,
it's an upgrade to a better cloud
ecosystem of solutions.
Accountants: You can not possibly
learn all the apps. Pick a niche and
learn the apps needed for that
niche.
Developers: If you think your app
works for every Small Business
niche you are wrong.
Small Business Owners: If your
accountant says you need to be on
QuickBooks Desktop, they haven't
explored the numerous apps that
when added to QuickBooks Online
are a way better solution.
There is not a list of top apps.
There are only smaller lists of
possible apps that could be a good
fit for a specific small business.
There is no app that does
everything.
The right app today, may not be
the right app tomorrow.
Using the right app can save time,
time is money, justifying the cost
of the app.
The source of truth will be spread
across many apps.

How I define apps
Apps.com apps
Apps that integrate with QBO
Apps that don’t integrate with QBO
Apps to run your accounting firm
Niche apps
Apps that fit all your clients
Editor's Notes
Mention that I’ll say accountant, bookkeeper, ProAdvisor … interchangeably during the talk
Officially this is the definition of niche
One part really caught my eye
“ecology, the positon or function of an organism in a community of plants and animals.”
PAUSE
This one hits home with me … I really see all of us as part of something that is bigger and is alive …and we are all trying to find our place in this “ecosystem” …
Not only are us as “people” are trying to find our niche, but I could argue that software is trying to do it to
Consider telling my 40 over 40 predictions?
In 2014 …I said the following …
What is scary about this?
CLASS: gives observations
Why this scares me:
No accounting software listed
You and the accounting system are no longer part of the conversation
15 years ago example versus today
What is scary about this?
CLASS: gives observations
Why this scares me
This is what every Pro Advisor profile looks like
SmallBiz owners have to muddle through this mess
How many of you here have a Pro Advisor page that looks like this?
Tell story about me finding a counselor. (how I bypassed the system to find a nice)
What is scary about this?
CLASS: gives observations
Why this scares me:
1300 e-commerce SmallBiz but only 1 accountant (BTW it was a Xero accountant)
All the SmallBiz are attempting to navigate a show floor w/ 50 apps and piece together solutions/workflows
They vast majority are using QuickBooks … I know this because I wore a QB shirt and they kept coming up to me
How many new clients could you get if you were there wearing a QB shirt?
What is scary about this?
CLASS: gives observations
Why this scares me:
Less than 18 months ago this guy was painting houses and now he is stealing your clients
This isn’t a 1 off, I can provide other examples …e.g. Salon bookkeeper, construction coach guy
Tell Clayton Oates story about Revel POS
Your competition no longer looks like competition
Mention it costs next to nothing to spin up a bookkeeping practice these days lowest barriers to entry ever
What is scary about this?
CLASS: gives observations
Why this scares me:
-you can’t learn all the apps (even I can’t do it anymore)
-it will be double in 18 months
-many may be more important to the day to day operations of a small business than the accounting system
This is awesome!
This is growing at 40%+ a year.
This means in a very short 18 months the total global cloud accounting space will be bigger than QB Desktop ever was in it hey day
This is awesome too
Combine the growth of cloud accounting with the profit margins ..and all of you have an exciting future ahead
PAUSE
If you go niche
If you aren’t cloud, you are probably still a “zip code” accountant and are handling many niches
The cloud enables you to go niche.
And it really enabled a #NicheAppRevolution … the desktop software distribution and development cost model didn’t allow niche to exist in the way it does today
Field Service isn’t really a niche …niches are deeper than that
The needs of a plumber and the needs of a tree cutting guy are much different
This is just the surface …(I could have made this slide be 50)
And this is 6 #NichApps incase we are counting
Cloud
Leads to niche
Leads to industry knowledge
Leads to learning less apps
Let’s say Tutoring Business are your niche. …you are the TutorBookkeeper.com
You just focus on learning a handful of apps instead of hundreds
Maybe you want to be the AccupuntureAccountant
…you only need to learn 1 app
Maybe … WeddingCakeCPA is more your thing …
6 more #NicheApps (that gives us 12)
Cloud
Leads to niche
Leads to industry knowledge
Leads to learning less apps
Leads to understanding cost to implement "niche software and accounting stack"
Leads to fixed rate pricing because you know how much it costs you to set up the next niche client
Our Painter guy again
He not only has fixed pricing, we also adjusts his price based on annual revenue, be cause he knows exactly what a 600k to 800k a year Paint will require as a client.
Even better because he is niche he can have cute names for his plans
Primer, Satin, High-Gloss
Veterinarian Niche
ANIMATED SLIDE
Chris Farmand (ProAdvisor and CPA) … he only needs to learn a small set of apps
CLICK
But because he is an brewery industry expert … he knows which app s to get clients off of because they may not have the best solution or are on a desktop solution
That 17 apps
Cloud
Leads to niche
Leads to industry knowledge
Leads to learning less apps
Leads to understanding cost to implement "niche software and accounting stack"
Leads to fixed rate pricing because you know how much it costs you to set up the next niche client
Leads to value billing since you know the value you'll bring that niche client
Leads to ability to market your practice to a niche
Leads you have ability to scale
Leads to you sucking A, B, C clients from "desktop/zipcode/general praxfoce accountants
Leads to a future in which a small number of accounts are going to have a huge number of clients.

How come Colleen w/ zero reviews is listed ahead of 2600+ other Pro Advisors?
CLICK
She only lists one thing on her profile! ..also look at her welcome communication. She only wants to hear from Salon Owners

Put your self in an e-commerce sellers shoes on this one
“we speak ecommerce” … first thing you see on their website
Compare versus “an e-commerce expert” that Joe Woodard connected me with.
Jonathan is the master of disguise.
You don’t even know he is an accountant. …look at the content he is offering ..
And … he even has a podcast just for dentists
Chew on this
…how many dentists are going to find him before they find you?
Dentists are going to find him when they aren’t even looking for an accountant.
Don’t get me wrong ….#SNH17 is a great conference ..but … how many new clients are going to get?
Now how many new clients will you get if you simply wear a QuickBooks shirt at this conference,
How many would you get if you were a speaker at this conference?
App developers themselves paying you to speak to their customers
You are on the board or an advisor to a #NicheApp
You create your own app
..that’s app #18
When you become the best at 1 niche you can move from
Being just a bookkeeper to
Being an industry player
Or a KING
In summary … all this stuff every conference for the last 3 years has been telling you to do … is so much easier if you go niche.
Before we jump in we are at 17 apps … and you may have noticed that it isn’t 50
YES ..I could have done all by myself ..but where do I start and where do I end ..
Instead … together we are going to smash the 50# niches app s… IMO we can hit 100
