1. Introduction To Macbeth Essay
Writing an essay on the introduction to Macbeth may pose a certain level of difficulty due to the
richness and complexity of the play. One must delve into the intricate layers of Shakespearean
language and symbolism to present a comprehensive understanding of the characters, themes,
and the overall essence of Macbeth. The challenge lies not only in summarizing the plot but in
analyzing the psychological depths of the characters, the political backdrop, and the overarching
themes like ambition, guilt, and the consequences of unchecked power.
Crafting an engaging and insightful introduction requires a delicate balance between providing
background information and sparking the reader's interest. The writer must navigate through the
historical context of the play, the elements of tragedy, and the interplay of supernatural elements
to set the stage for a thorough exploration of Macbeth's world.
Moreover, achieving a nuanced interpretation of the characters, especially Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth, demands a careful examination of their motivations and the evolution of their
personalities throughout the play. Connecting these character analyses to broader themes and
societal implications adds another layer of complexity to the essay.
Successfully addressing these challenges entails a deep appreciation for Shakespearean literature,
critical thinking skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas coherently. The writer must be
able to weave together a tapestry of ideas, backed by textual evidence, to present a compelling
introduction that captures the essence of Macbeth.

2. My Own Creative Process And Transformative
Experiences...
This paper intends to describe the application of my own creative process and
transformative experiences during the stages of work from creation to completion of
an original body of sculptural artwork. Secondarily, providing analysis and
interpretation of the relationship to the theories of creativity that have been studied
throughout this course. I will be using the concept of self awareness found in Maslow
s hierarchy of needs (Runco, 2014) and the concept of self observation as a form of
measurement and as the primary research method. The result of this concentration
aims to demonstrate the generation and connection of new knowledge that deepened
my understanding of creativityin the context of the person, process, place, and
product.
There are many definitions, from many people of what creativity is and what it is
not. It only seems logical to start with my own definition for a sequential frame of
reference. I believe that creativity is having vision and exercising cognitive processes
that when combined with personality traits, influential experiences, environments,
and learned skillsets generate original ideas by an individual. That is a synthesis of
three of the five creativity research paradigms: person, process, and place,
summarized in Creativity: Theories and Themes: Research, Development, and
Practice. (Runco et.al, 2014) This is my vision. Before starting this course, I had been
thinking about the possibility of creating sculptures that intertwine art with
3. The Wrongful Discharge From Employment Act
Question Presented
Under Montana s Wrongful Discharge from Employment Act (WDEA), does Anton
Chigurh have a claim for wrongful discharge when he signed a one year employment
contract containing an at will provision and his employer, Carla Moss, offered him a
lesser position with lower pay to accommodate a contract with a returning employee?
Brief Answer Probably no. In order to establish a claim for wrongful discharge,
Chigurh would have to prove that (1) the employment contract for a specific term
does not bar his suit; (2) that he was constructively discharged; and (3) that Moss did
not hold good cause in terminating his employment. Here, the Professional
Employment Contract for Specific Term held an at will provision, making it not a
contract for a specific term, which will allow Chigurh to bring suit. Chigurh being
moved from executive chef to line chef coupled with a $17,500 pay reduction will
likely prove so intolerable that the only reasonable option was to quit, resulting in
him being constructively discharged. However, BWO will likely be able to prove
Chigurh was terminated for good cause either because employers have more
discretion in terminating managerial employees, or for the financial factors
associated with not performing the agreement with Wells.
Statement of Facts Carla Moss hired Carson Wells to be the executive chef at Blue
Winged Olive Bar Grill (BWO) in 2003. Moss relied heavily on Wells and contributed
much of BWO s success to him. Moss
4. No Child Left Behind Argumentative Essay
Four words drove me into retirement No Child Left Behind. I could no longer attend
to the needs and wants of my students. All I was supposed to do was get them ready
to take tests (Steve Eklund). Steve Eklund, a schoolteacher in California, states this
claim when asked his opinion on No Child Left Behind by EducationVotes, a page
run by the National Education Association. Through this, he shows his complete
disapproval of the act and expresses just one of the reasons that many see it as a
burden to American education. Beginning in 2001, George W. Bush declared to the
American people that it was time to make a change in the American education
system. The idea was dubbed No Child Left Behind. The bill was later signed into
law on January... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The act was made to follow up Lyndon B. Johnson s Elementary and Secondary
Education Act, which was created on April 9th, 1965. However, the No Child Left
Behind act twisted itself to negatively influence the American education system by
implementing inane standards and learning targets that do not measure actual learning.
One overlying problem seen is within the testing that takes place. Through the act
standardized testing is implemented as a way to determine student proficiency
levels, taking typical daily subjects out of the day to make room for test taking
curriculum. Teachers are no longer spending a majority of time on practical real
world skills, but are cramming the days with test taking strategies and skills needed
to prove their intelligence to the United States government. High stakes testing causes
teachers to teach to the test, which means narrowing content to focus solely on topics
covered by the tests (Bohrnstedt et. al. 324). Students are no longer yearning for an
education but rather more are dropping out yearly since No Child Left Behind has
taken place, due to the intense testing that is now required. Teachers are having to
5. Lower Teacher Expectations And Stereotypes
Lower teacher expectations and stereotypes
Lower teacher expectations have been recognised to limit pupil s progress in
education. Teachers are not pushing ethnic minority pupil to achieve their potential.
Ethnic minority groups are mostly entered for foundation tier GCSE examinations
which then restricts the grade that can be achieved (REMI). This is through lower
teacher expectations. Lower teacher expectations lead to pupils performing less than
their capabilities.
Wright (1992 p. 27 cited in Foster, Gomm and Hammersley, 1996) provides a clear
example of teachers not pushing pupil to achieve well due to the child s ethnic
background.
They [White teachers] have got this way of talking to them [Asian pupil] in a really
simple way... cutting half the sentences Me no do that sort of thing... and that is not
standard English. And they ve [teachers] got this way of saying words That naughty
and they miss words out and it really does seem stupid .
This demonstrates the practices and teaching in schools. The case study relates to
how ethnic minorities may face barriers to education at school. The teacher is the
one who holds power and influences upon all the pupil in the classroom. Teachers
who hold such low expectations of pupil specifically create these. Stereotypes in
which other (White) pupil in the classroom would make the lower group feel bad
about themselves. This stereotype led by the teacher would continue to spread by the
pupil s. This example led by the
6. Content Area Reading
In chapter nine of their book, Content Area Reading: Literacy and Learning Across
the Curriculum, Vacca et al. (2014, pp. 280 307) discuss strategies that encourage
writing across the curriculum. Throughout the chapter, the authors present numerous
instructional practices and strategies that can be applied by educators to facilitate
writingin their classrooms. As I read through this chapter, I was surprised by how
mathematics could be applied to these strategies, a learned new information, and was
surprised at times. Overall, this chapter offers a plethora of information to up and
coming educators, and gives insight into how writing can be implemented into their
content areas. I ve always viewed content area writing as strictly consisting of short
answer and essay questions and prompts. In this chapter, Vacca et al. (2014) showed
me that a multitude of strategies exist for implementing writing into content areas.
One of these new forms of content area writing that I learned about in this chapter
were microthemes. Vacca et al. (2014, p. 286) defines mircothemes as a brief piece

2014, p. 299). I have envision having my students complete experiences to reinforce
the concepts that we have learned about in lecture and having them complete lab
reports on these experiments would allow them to work on their writing skills.
These lab reports will not only work on their writing skills, but also their critical
thinking and summarizing skills. If I implemented lab reports into my classroom
they would not be traditional ones. I would create my own template for my students
to follow, which would be made up sections such as a summary of the experiment,
how it can be applied to the real world, and an explanation of the mathematics they
used to complete the experiment. Utilizing lab reports would allow my students to
expand on their math skills, while also practicing their writing
7. Descriptive Research Essay
Descriptive research benefits you when you believe some problems are impossible
to solve. This requires observations because it s based on what you need to discover
that interests you. The first step in solving a problem in descriptive language is the
research objective. It is what you need to find out, or what question you would want
to answer. Luis and Midori would have answer saying their research objective, was
to find out how the sources of the cholera epidemic and E.coli epidemic were
tracked. Also during a scienceinvestigation, data tables are often used for recording
information. The data can be supported whether or not the prediction was
supported and conclusions can be drawn to it. The second step for the descriptive
research is describing the research design. In the textbook, it says one important
research design is safety. What it means when scientists eliminate bias which
means avoid which ones help you with a good investigation. When a scientific
problem is solved by observations which are important. Scientists use the materials
that are available or up to date. Furthermore, with materials, you don t need the
most expensive one all you need is your investigations to be successfully done. One
part of an investigation plan is it might include scientific models. In science, models
represent things that go too slowly or quickly. For example like Dr. John Snow s
map of the cholera epidemic was a model that allowed him to predict possible
sources to the

The KKK and its history are related to the book To Kill A Mockingbird because the
KKK were a bunch of white segregationists who didn t like black people, in To Kill A
Mockingbird everyone mostly everyone wasn t fond of mr robinson because he was
accused of rape.
The KKK flourished in the southern united states in the late 1860 s and was a form of
white southern resistance against what they perceived as encroaching african american
rights. A united states senator named Robert c byrd was a main recruiter for the
KKK when he was in his 20s 30s. After leaving the group he became a United states
senator.
By 1870, the Ku Klux Klan had branched out to nearly every state. The group

The Prejudice of Maycomb All men are created equal , one of the most ignored
statements that our founding fathers wrote in the Constitution. People exercise
prejudice everywhere in the U.S. Prejudice is a topic that is constantly revisited in
Harper Lee s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Her novel focuses on Scout, the daughter
of Atticus Finch, living her life in the 1930s of rural Maycomb, Alabama. Scout
witnesses the injustice and prejudice against many people, not only Negroes. The
heat of prejudice rises when Atticus decides to defend Tom Robinson, a black who is
going under trial for allegedly raping a white girl. Despite the clear evidence that
Robinson is innocent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calpurnia responds that folks don t like to have somebody around knowin more
than they do. It aggravates em. You re not gonna change any of them by talking
right, they ve got to learn themselves, and when they don t want to learn, there s
nothing you can do but keep your mouth shut or talk their language. (Lee 167)
Calpurnia s insight offers us a look at the language divide between whites and blacks.
White people dislike a person who speaks like a black and black people dislike a
person who speaks like a white. The fact that the black community despises the
way whites act and vice versa shows the fear of difference. Scout s neighbor, Mrs.
Dubose also dislikes people who act differently, including Atticus, which is shown
when, she shouts at Scout. Yes indeed, what has the world come to when a Finch
goes against his raising? I ll tell you. She put her hand to her mouth. When she
drew it away, It trailed a long silver thread of saliva. Your father s no better than the
niggers and trash that he works for! (Lee 135) Mrs. Dubose dislikes people who act
differently than expected. Atticus acted differently than other people earning him the
hatred of Mrs. Dubose. Mrs. Dubose also compares Negroes to trash, showing that
she also hates Negroes, probably because they have different skin color from her. The
town of Maycomb demonstrates again and

Problem Statement:
The goal of this study is to collect, analyze, and interpret my variable expenses to
increase my monthly savings. I will expose key variables, unnecessary expenditures,
and develop a plan to manage those spending habits. The escalation of my variable
costs has prevented me to increase my savings account, which has directly prohibited
my efforts to make extra payments toward my investment property.
Business Impact:
The average cost of variable expenses each month are currently $1,391.57 or an
average weekly cost of $347.89. A portion of these valuable dollars could
potentially be shifted into my savings account each month to put toward paying
off my investment property. To bring it into perspective, if I can reduce my total
estimated variable expenses to $222.65 each week or by 36%, I would be able to
take the sum of my 36% reduction or $125.24 and apply that to my savings account
each week. This would allow me to save an estimated value of $500.96 each month.

11. Indentured Servitude Essay
Prior to to the 1600 s, American colonies were heavily dependent on the use of
indentured servants, these indentured servants were people who came to the New
World with the colonists and in return they signed a contract to work a certain
number of years. After they had completed their contract they were allowed to
leave and start their own life in the New World. Indentured servitude has started to
decrease because the slaves that had come from Africa to the New World were
already used to working conditions in the New World. Indentured Servants were all
native to the Americas. The slaves on the other hand were immune to many of the
diseases in the New World, this made them better fit to be the primary labor force
used in the New World. Indentured servitude continued to decrease... Show more

The introduction of slaves allowed for the Colonies to better control and easily
identify their labor force. Indentured Servitude was the leading labor force in the
New World until the early 1700 s. It was essentially a person who was to work
under contract for a definite period of time. Many of the indentured servants were
Europeans who wanted to come to the New World but did not have the funds to do
so. So they came with colonists and were guranteed passage to the new world in
exchange for work. Some of the indentured servants were Native Americans who
were allowed to be indentured servants in exchange for converting their religion to
christianity. Indentured Servitude was partly successful due to the headright
system. The headright system allowed those who came to the New World, land.
Now that many people who had emigrated to the colonies had land they wanted to
make goods to sell. Most of the time this land was converted or used for farms. The
headright system allowed for the need of a large labor force. This led to a huge

12. Immune To Reality By Daniel Gilbert Summary
Anybody can experience trauma, whether it s a man, a woman, or even a child. In
fact, over half of the population is expected to experience trauma at least once in
their lifetimes. However, everyone will respond to trauma in their own, unique,
way, making it difficult to properly equip people with the tools needed to heal from
trauma in the event they experience it. Whereas the responses a person and his or
her body will have in the event of heart attack have been narrowed down to a small
list, and can easily be conveyed to the public through general guidelines or PSAs,
the responses a person will have to trauma can range anywhere from shrugging it
off to suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This is why the role of
mental health professionals, such as therapists, is crucial in regards to helping
sufferers of trauma. These professionals are specially trained to be capable of
identifying and understanding the responses a person is having to a traumatic
experience, as well as the optimal ways to go about the healing process. In Daniel
Gilbert s Stumbling on Happiness, specifically the chapter titled Immune to Reality,
he analyzes what he calls the psychological immune system, a defence mechanism of
the psyche which plays a prominent role in how a person will respond in the event of
trauma. While Gilbert outlines the mechanisms that cause people to respond to
trauma in the way that they do, Dana Becker, author of One Nation Under Stress,
looks at the actual

14. Microsoft Anti-Trust Lawsuit
Microsoft Anti Trust Lawsuit Microsoft is one of America s top computer
companies but, in 1999, it was accused of violating the law through the methods it
used to promote its internet browser, Internet Explorer. The case against Microsoft
was brought about by the government and claimed that Microsoft was in violation
of the Sherman Act, a law designed to fight monopolies. When that case was
finally decided, and it was found that Microsoft had indeed broken U.S. law, a
competitor, AOL Time Warner, then filed a civil suit claiming damages from the
illegal activities of Microsoft. As a result of the civil suit, Microsoft agreed to pay
AOL Time Warner $750 million, as well as allow AOL to use Internet Explorer free
of charge for seven years. Beginning in 1999, the U.S. government, along with a
number of individual states, brought suit against Microsoft alleging that it s practices
to promote its internet browser were in violation of the Sherman Act, which among
its many provisions regulated monopolies. Through contracts which directly linked
the sale of other products, like operating systems, with the sale of applications, like
its internet browser, Microsoft was accused of violating the statutes which prevent
monopolies. A district court found for the government and ordered Microsoft to
submit a proposed plan of divestiture, with the company to be split into an operating
systems business and an applications business. ( United States of America v.

15. Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon
In Toni Morrison s award winning novel Song of Solomon, she fills the novel with
deep symbolism. Macon Dead III, nicknamed Milkman, is a symbolic character
throughout the novel. Not only is he as a character symbolic, but his name is as
well. Milkman s aunt, Pilate, has a significant and symbolic role in the novel. To
her father, she represents the child who killed her own mother and took away his
wife. In the Bible, Pontius Pilate is the Roman who is responsible for the
execution of Jesus. With that information, one can say that the name Pilate seems
to coincide with her father, Macon Dead s, opinion on what Pilate represents.
What s ironic is that Pilate is a good person and is murdered in the end, just as
Jesus was by Pontius Pilate. Guitar, Milkman s best friend, is another significant
character in the novel who portrays deep symbolism. Guitar is named after
something that he wanted very badly as a child. I saw it when my mother took me
downtown with her. I was just a baby. It was one of those things where you guess
how many beans in the glass jar and you win a guitar. I cried for it, they said. And
always asked about it. This unreachable goal describes his character throughout the
novel. He is never able to overcome the obstacles that stand

people of different cultures has become more and more common. It was once the case

Discuss family culture and its effect on patient education.
The role and definition of family can vary from one culture to another. Generally
speaking, the culture in the United States places a lot of emphasis on individuality
and personal freedom. In many cultures, the family unit has a very strict and
defined hierarchy. Often the Father is seen as the head of the household and is
responsible for much of the decision making. This can include decisions
concerning the health care of a family member. It could also result in reluctance for
the head of the family to place himself in a position of relying on others for care, a
perceived position of weakness. In many cultures, the family goes beyond the nuclear
family, and extends to the community, friends and neighbors. These are strongly held
beliefs, and we must refrain from judging them as right or wrong based on our own
culture. Rather, weneed to find ways to work within the framework of the family
structure of the patient. ( Falvo, pp.186 187)

19. The Invisible Poverty Of Other America By Peter Dreier
Many notable wars have begun and ended without people taking time to truly
understand them. It is the case that it is harder to understand something one has not
experienced yet, and the war on poverty is not exempt from this. However, poverty
has existed all throughout the history of mankind s most notable societies, from the
French revolution in 1789 which bloodied the halls of the Palace of Versailles to the
Occupy Wall Street Movement in 2011 which reminded Americans that economic
inequality is still prevalent. The Invisible Povertyof Other America by Peter Dreier, 7

If we do not expect nothing in return except for our fellow man to have what he
needs to make it in life, we will in turn receive more productive members of society,
we will receive less starving, freezing, lonely people on the streets, and we will
receive compassion if we ever end up there too. Perhaps another roadblock put in
front of us, as explained in 7 Lies About Welfare by Danica Johnson, is the stigma
people give to those of us who are less fortunate. When someone thinks of a person
in poverty they think of homelessness at worst, living in subsidized housing at best.
They don t consider that it is not always like that. Some live in their own places
and out of all the help provided, maybe they only need to use food stamps. Danica
tells how most people do not even know what welfare even is, they just think of
lazy individuals trying to cash in taxpayer money for luxury items and drugs. They
don t know what their tax dollars go toward, how much of it, and what the
programs even do. In fact, most government assisted programs seek to provide
only the bare minimum amount of help that an individual or a family need to
survive. Also to be noted, most benefit programs require recipients to work at least
30 hours a week in order to be eligible. Sometimes even between 35 50 hours a week
for two parent households. In addition, July 2014 Texas began drug testing their

conference was convened at Caracas in 1954, which drew up an Inter American
Convention on Diplomatic asylum. The Convention established the controlling rights
of the asylum granting state to categorize the nature of offences for which the
fugitive s arrest is sought, and to decide upon the urgency of the circumstances ...

Asylum on Humanitarian grounds: Asylum in a foreign embassy or legation is a
subject which affords a good illustration of the change and development of the
rules of international law. In modern times, it is asserted, the right to asylum, if it
were generally recognized, would tend to constitute an abuse. It would interfere
with good government. The practice of asylum is even looked on with a tolerant
eye and the personnel of a foreign legation are not very glad to use this right. To the
diplomatic agent concerned the practice is nothing but a burden. But the practice is
defended on humanitarian grounds. Motives of humanity exclude a rigid refusal to
receive a man who may be in peril of his life, but the general rule now is to limit the
reception of such political refugees to cases where the person received is in instant or
imminent personal
21. The Relationship Between Bisexuality And Its Effects On...
Bisexuality is described as having romantic or sexual attraction to both males and
females. This means that a bisexual woman can be attracted to either a man or a
woman and have a meaningful relationship with either gender. Bisexuality can be
transitional but it can also be a stable sexual orientation no different from lesbianism.
With transitional bisexualitywomen typically experience attraction towards men and
women but soon identify with either heterosexuality or lesbianism. Their
bisexuality is merely a way for them to find out who they are and what they like.
Stable bisexuality means that this is not a stage and it will not simply disappear
with age. It is a sexuality with just as much stability as lesbianism, their attraction
towards men and women will remain constant. Both types of bisexuality exist and
are experienced by real women. Stable bisexuality is the more common type and
most women who identify with it do not adopt a different sexuality with age. Simply
because a bisexual woman may marry a man does not make her heterosexual and
just because she may marry a woman does not make her a lesbian. Her sexuality
remains the same because her attraction to both genders does not change.
When concerning bisexuality and friendships there is a stigma that you cannot be a
bisexual woman and be friends with a heterosexual woman because you will be
attracted to them sexually. Typically when looking at friendships people tend to
choose friends who are similar to themselves

CHAPTER 4
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
4.1Overview
In this project, after the design and development parts were completed. The hardware
development consists of the development of DTMF circuits, driver circuit,
microcontroller circuit and interfacing circuits by using EAGLE software. This
chapter will discuss the results of the overall system development and its analysis.
The result is discussed into two parts; the hardware development and accuracy of the
system. These results have been analyzed in order to improve the system performance
in future work. Also show the result of the project in the prototype.

In the athletic apparel industry, as in any industry, it is key to stay in touch with the
current trends in order to keep your products relevant. With Lululemon focused on
such a niche activity it will be important that they explore other markets within the
sports apparel industry in the future so as to stay relevant. We can see the company
s first steps in doing just this when they recently introduced their men s apparel line.
A summary of the athletic apparel industry s external environment are listed in
Exhibit 1. Driving Five Forces Lululemon faces constant competitive pressures from
the five main driving forces: rivals/competitors, new entrants, substitute products,
suppliers bargaining power, and buyers bargaining power.( Thompson, Peteraf,
Gamble, and Strickland) Below is a detailed analysis of the competitive forces noted
in Exhibit 2. The rivalry among existing competitors is strong. It is becoming
increasingly harder to develop new and unique products based solely around a small
niche activity. There are only so many aspects of yoga that can be explored and that
products can be developed to accompany. Although Lululemon was the first, new
competitors are seeing the profit to be had in this niche market and are entering with
the goal of creating new more creative strategies to compete with Lululemon and take
part of their large market share. (Morning Star) The threat of new entrants is
moderate. Although this niche market is
24. Is Frankenstein Relevant Today
A tale of a man made into a monster or a tale of man made monster ,Frankenstein a
classic horror tale that has survived the test of time and remains relevant today.
Although this story was written nearly 200 years ago many critics find gravity in its
underlying concepts, every critic approaching the centuries old story with fresh lenses
in an older frame. Critics have analyzed this story from every angle but have not
looked into the present and found the symbolism reflecting today s African American
racial relations. Frankensteinhas been poked and prodded from every angle but the

The monster is not welcome in villages and homes like in chapter 15 when he is
attacked by the De Lacy family and flees very similar the Black Monster is not
welcome in some neighborhoods and towns like in the case of Trayvon Martin
who was shot and killed because he was perceived as a threat for being black in the
wrong neighborhood. Frankenstein s Monster lashes out against his creator in
various ways throughout the story like killing Victor s younger brother William just
for sharing a last name Frankenstein! you belong then to my enemy to him towards
whom I have sworn eternal revenge; you shall be my first victim. The child still
struggled and loaded me with epithets which carried despair to my heart; I grasped
his throat to silence him, and in a moment he lay dead at my feet.
(Frankenstein, chapter 15 ,pg 5) The Black Monster lashes out at the society that
mistreats him by breaking its laws for survival and wealth. Different actions but the
same mindset to get retribution through actions that may not be moral upright but
works as a sort of band aid to the hurt that they feel.
The story of Victor Frankenstein and the Monster can be viewed as a warning of
what is to come if change does not happen. The story of Frankenstein does not end
happily, both the Monster and Victor die because of refusals on both parts to work to
have a better interaction. The revenge the monster sought only brings him heartache
because he destroys the only person he required love from and the revenge Victor
sought because of the Monster s action lead him to his ultimate fate. The same can
happen to America and his black son going tit for tat without truly trying to fix the
problems that plague the
25. Gleaners And Varda
The film The Gleaners and I (2000), by AgnГЁs Varda, is a subtle attempt at
bridging the gap between the past and the present by showing how tradition,
necessity, and art have kept certain customs alive. In this uniquely intimate
documentary, Varda sets out to find individuals who still practice the archaic lifestyle
of gleaning, historically done by groups of women after the harvest. On her journey,
Varda meets an array of characters from different backgrounds who all glean for
different reasons. As she weaves these unique stories together, she manages to
simultaneously paint a larger, but more subdued, portrait of herself. This filmis like no
other documentary that I have ever seen. The Gleaners and I seems to focus on
individuals who scavenge for food out of necessity, the fear of being wasteful, or
just for fun. We are dragged back and forth between the past and the present, with
no final destination in sight. We see homeless people gleaning upwards of fifty
pounds of rejected potatoes from fields picked dry by reapers, too large or too small...

She strays often from her main topic, veering towards something much more
personal. Varda occasionally turns the camera on herself, focusing on her hair and
her hands, now worn and wrinkled with age. She says My hair and my hands tell
me that the end is near, an innocent, yet haunting line that made my chest tighten
with the reminder of the looming threat of mortality. During these parts of the film,
I felt like I was intruding, like I had entered a territory where I did not belong; I did
not feel unwelcome, but I also could not understand. Yes, Varda created this
documentary about gleaners, but the unifying figure is herself, the gleaner. She
collects bits and pieces of the personalities and stories of others through film.
Perhaps she is trying to find meaning in the lives of strangers while being faced with

26. Rhetorical Analysis Of Disney s Frozen
Rhetorical Analysis: Disney s Frozen
Walt Disney Productions prestige is to never disappoint and their latest movie
Frozen, is no exception. The movie centers around the lives of two sisters, kind
hearted Anna and the frightened Snow Queen Elsa. Fearless Anna sets off on a
journey to find her sister, who flees to an icy mountain after she accidentally traps
the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter with her ice powers. Disney s 2013
animated film reeled in its target audience and more; the film intended to appeal to
children s of all ages surprisingly enough enticed a wider audience largely comprised
of non families. Disney s reputation for promoting happiness and the well being of
American families led to the direct success of the movie Frozen. The film met its
purpose, depicting a touching storyline showing the importance of family and
undermining the traditional concept of true love. Furthermore, Walt Disney
Productions established sufficient credibility within its viewers and audience with
the use of artistic proofs such as; ethos, logos, and pathos. Disney s tradition is to
provide the audience with an educational piece of entertainment, Frozen is
undeniably one of those Disney animated films worth seeing. Walt Disney
Productions strategic use of rhetoric made it evident that the movie was going to be
an all time hit some may even say the biggest children s film of all time simply
because it was just that, a Disney movie.

Last Tuesday Kirk was hanging out around Andy s Bar. Every day was miserable
for the loathsome Beggar and today started out just as miserable as the rest. While
he was sitting against the door to Andy s Bar, Kirk held a sign, begging for money
and food. Kirk watched each person walk by him. Many ignored him while others
looked at him with disgust. After a few hours, Kirk accumulated no more than two
dollars and a half eaten biscuit. Kirk was disappointed two dollars wasn t even
enough to get a glass of his favorite ale! Amid this failure, Kirk noticed a man with
a fine jacket standing in front of him. The man looked about 30 years of age, didn t

Kirk? Kirk handed Andy the wad of hundred dollar bills and asked for every bottle of
Bud Light in the bar.
After a few hours of drinking, the Beggar was drunk. Kirk sat in the corner of the bar,
seemingly in his own world, accompanied only by his beer. As the hours passed, one
brave soul approached Kirk. Excuse me sir , said the old man. Would you mind
giving me one of your beers over there I seem to have forgotten my wallet at my
house. Huh? , replied the Beggar. What do you want? I am kindly asking for you
to share one of your beers with me. Sure , replied the Beggar. I ll share one of my
beers with you. The Beggar reached across the table and grabbed at one of the
beers. He opened it. Here you go! Just as the old man was reaching for the beer
from Kirk s hands, Kirk poured the beer all over the poor man. How dare you! ,
said the old man. The Beggar laughed aloud and proceeded to punch the old man
right out of his seat. The old man was stunned. It s on , he said. The Beggar went

It s been five long years since American indie folk band Bon Iver last released an
album. Needless to say, their new album, 22, A Million, has been long awaited. But
this album strays far away from their usual soothing, folky sounds. Departing from
the soft, acoustic melodies that comprised their first two studio albums: For Emma,
Forever Ago and Bon Iver, Bon Iver; 22, A Million takes a dramatic risk. Bon Iver
tried something completely innovative and experimental. The result is a sound like
you ve never heard before... and it works magnificently. A common complaint of
musicnowadays specifically music by well known artists is that everything sounds
alike. Critics protest that popular music has become homogenous and formulaic.

In many songs it is pitched up and down and layered upon itself, to create the
illusion of a group of people singing harmoniously together. His voice generates a
haunting echo against the backdrop of digital effects, percussion, and saxophone

outside the box when it comes to taking musical risks. Many of the greats, such as
Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Neil Young all risked losing their established fan base
in attempt to take their talents to the next level. This led to the production of some
of their best, most innovative music, created by pushing the limits. You can hear
the influence of these notable artists, and others, in 22, A Million. Influences of
Radiohead and of Frank Ocean can be picked up throughout the album. Influences
of Frank are especially prevalent in the song 8 (circle), which contains a
confessional like delivery of the lyrics, similar to songs on Frank s Channel Orange,
and (more recently) Blonde. Prominent musicians have been praising Vernon too.
Adele posted a picture of the new album cover to Instagram, with the caption: Bon

29. Ammonium Nitrate Lab Report
Organic sources of nitrogen have shown to assist the development of many different
plants, such as spore germination. An experiment was conducted to see if ammonium
nitrate would indeed help with spore germination pertaining to the C Fern,
Ceratopteris richardii. The experiment consisted of two different dishes, each
containing a different culture one with ammonium nitrate and the other without. It
was hypothesized that the control group, the petri dish without the ammonium
nitrate, will have a higher rate of germinated spores compared to the experimental
group, the petri dish with ammonium nitrate. The results revealed that although in
each group the control had more geminated spores that there was no significant
difference or variance. So the hypothesis was correct in terms of which would have
more geminated spores. All in all, the experimental design had several openings for
error so if the experiment were to be repeated a more controlled environment should
be used. Vascular plants have been around for millions of years and have
revolutionized the world s ecology ever since their first appearance. A prime example
of a vascular plantwould be ferns, which was one of the first known vascular plants on
earth. Two characteristics that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was done by having two petri dishes one with ammonium nitrate, experimental,
and one without ammonium nitrate, control, and then counting the amount of spores
each one germinated. The specific fern that will be used is the C Fern, Ceratopteris
richardii, because they have the ability to develop gametophytes rapidly over a short
period of time (C Fern?, 2014). Therefore, my hypothesis is that the control group, the
petri dish without the inorganic nitrogen, will have a higher rate of germinated spores
compared to the experimental group, the petri dish with inorganic nitrogen
30. The New Black And Scrubs
Death is all around us. It is as natural as living and occurs in different ways. Death
is viewed differently throughout American society. The way it is handled is based
on the situation. Using examples from the TV shows Orange is the New Black and
Scrubs, I will discuss our society s understanding of deathand dying by looking at
how they are viewed in hospitals compared to prisons. I will focus on how often
death occurs and how it is handled in each system. These shows portray most events
as they would happen in real life, but they are still fiction and do not speak for all
cases.
Hospitals see death, arguably, more than anywhere else. Scrubs explores this
reality and how employees mentally deal with dying. In the world of doctors and
nurses, taking care of the sick and dying is an every day task. It can be an
emotionally overwhelming job, but it teaches the inevitability of death as a part of
life. In this show, J.D. experiences death within his first days of his job as a
resident. His patient refuses to get dialysis, stating that she is nearing the end of her
life, and trying to save her life at this point is futile. That same day, the patients of
Turk and Elliot, J.D. s friends, die as well. Unlike J.D., they had tried to save their
patients who ended up dying anyway. This teaches them all an important lesson that
day: death surrounds them inside and outside the hospital. Unlike people who do not
work in hospitals, the three doctors would have to get used to seeing
31. Romanticism Was The Period Of The Literary Movement
Of...
1783 1830 was the period of the literary movement of Romanticism which was
originated in Europe (wiki). The Romantic Movement was partly aroused as a
reaction from the Industrial Revolution. Romanticism appeared as a movement which
aimed to reject many subjects such as spirits, souls, and instincts from the previous
Enlightenment movement and discuss subjects associated with liberalism,
radicalism, and nationalism (Nichols, A., 2005). This movement emphasizes on the
sources of aesthetic experience, emotions, beauty and sublimity of nature. One of the
most obvious principles in this literary movement is the freedom of the poets to
express themselves and their feelings. It was considered that in order for poets to
express their true feelings, they have to be creative, imaginative and isolated. And the
second obvious principle in this literary movement was the principle of genius, which
means creation from nothingness, and that was the key of this movement
(Waterhouse, 1926; Smith, 1924).
In that period, poets seemed to be using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

all the way to the ground, but a whole three quarters of it lay caved to time, and
while one side still reaches for the sky, the gentle swoop and sway of the structure
clearly indicates its demise. It s a chilly late winter day in Arkansas. Coming to
this part of the country during spring break, I always hope to see snow; a late
snow is common, and the sky is gray. We pass the hospital where I watched my

What happens to garbage once it leaves your house? It is either burned, buried, or
recycled. However, the method that is leaving the greatest impact on nature is the
burying of trash in landfills. Turns out, 55 percent of all trash ends up getting piled
into landfills and left there. In 2006, Americans generated 251 million tons of
garbage; 35 percent of that garbage came from schools and other commercial
locations.Luckily, there is an easy way for schools to reduce their carbon footprint:
composting. Schools should require uneaten food to be composted because it
reduces the amount of trash in landfills, greenhouse gases, and the use of chemical
fertilizers. In the paragraphs to follow I will explain to you the benefits of schools
requiring uneaten food to be composted.
Firstly, if schools require uneaten food to be composted there will be less trash in
the landfills. In fact, about 40% of our garbage is organic waste and can be kept out of
the landfills by compost. Also, Mary Schwarz, extension support specialist for the

Compost is a valuable resource for lawns and gardens. When used, compost
improves the soil s moisture management, regulates the soil s pH, provides
nutrients on a slow release basis and suppresses certain plant diseases. In addition,
it can bind and degrade some pollutants in the plant s growing environment, reduce
the need for pesticides and help control erosion. Compost restores soil structure
after natural soil microorganisms have been reduced by the use of chemical
fertilizers; compost is a soil innoculant. More compost use means less chemical
fertilizers; less chemical fertilizers means less run off into the water table. Not only
that but it also minimizes odors from agricultural areas. Along with being a valuable
alternative to chemical fertilizers, it provides another way for schools to save money
and a better understanding of certain aspects of
37. The Pros And Cons Of Creation Science
Philosophical Essay #1
In Creation Science is not Science, Michael Ruse argues that Creation science should
not be taught in public schools because it is not science. Opposing this view, in
Science at the Bar Causes for Concern, Larry Laudan argues that Creation Science is
science, but that it should not be taught in public schools because it is false. In this
paper, I will argue that Michael Ruse had the better argument and that Creation
Science is not science, but rather it is religion. First, I explain Ruse s argument for
why creation science does not meet the criteria for science. Second, I consider and
briefly explain Larry Laudan s opposing view that creation science is false science. I
then argue why I believe Ruse has the better argument.
In his argument, Michael Ruse defends the science communities position that
creation science is not a science. He claims that it is a pseudo science. His argument
is that creation science should not be taught in the public schools because creation
science is not science (Ruse 1982, 76). His main criticism against creationism is based
on the lack of support from the established view of real science. Ruse lays out what
he believes the criteria for real science should look like. He then, expands on several
parts of scientific activity which includes the role of prediction, explanation,
testability, confirmation, falsifiability, tentativeness, and integrity. Ruse presents
these as the absolute necessary empirical and social

The intensity of pain that women encounter during childbirth has been a topic in
many studies in society since the beginning of time. However, although many
research have been done it has not yet been determined whether the severity of the
maternal labor pain endured by women was, or continues to be a product of nature or
nurture. In the 1989 article titled Cultural and Educational Influences on Pain of
Childbirthauthors Matisyohu Weisenberg PhD and Zahava Caspi MS investigated
how the social and cultural (or sociocultural) and the educational background of a
women can indeed affect their behavior when enduring the severe pain of childbirth,

The study of childbirth is openly accepted in Western conversation however it is
an intimate and private event in the eyes of many Middle Eastern cultures which is
why these women, especially the lowly educated ones do not have access to

the correlation between family and pain perception was mostly found in the lowly
educated Middle Eastern women and solely the Middle Eastern women in general
where the pain was perceived to be more intense (Weisenberg and Caspi, 17).
Theoretically, these two different group are said to have different pain perception
due to the completely different societies that they live in or participate in which can
in part lead back to how human behavior coincides with nurture s ideology: that the

Biomechanics of a Lacrosse Shot Lacrosse is defined as a ball game invented by
American Indians, now played by two teams who try to propel a ball into each
other s goal by means of long handled hooked sticks that are loosely strung with a
kind of netted pouch (Farlex, Inc.). Behind every shot taken in a lacrossegame,
elements of biomechanics are implemented. Biomechanics is the sport science field
that applies the laws of mechanics (movements, body angles, joint positions, etc.),
biomedical engineering, and physics (gravity, forces, velocities, etc.) to athletic

Without the movement of the lower body, a shot would end up anywhere but the

winds up leaving the stick in the direction that the shooter intended. Once
accomplishing the motion of your hips, a player must focus on the next link in the

into the back of the net. When the act of pulling the stick takes place, a shift in
weight occurs. This shift in balance enables the player to release the ball while
allowing his hips and back to recoil and urge the shoot motion in a forward
direction. This forward acceleration causes an increase in the player s velocity, zero
to forward (Russo, 1). Depending on the magnitude of your acceleration depends on
how hard or fast the player pushes off the ground with their foot allowing them to
make the initial forward progress. Without the push off the ground, no forward
movement would be possible.

41. High School Confidential
High school in real life is full of surprises, but according to David Denby in his
article High School Confidential, High School in the movies is very predictable.
The typical Hollywood High School Scene opens with the jock and the cheerleader
characters. Blonde and buff, the Jock and the Cheerleader are superficial and
proud to proclaim it. They are popular and perky, and always too good to be true.
The cheerleader is usually the enemy of the hero or heroine. She is generally rich,
blonde, and queen bee of the social circle, with no sense of selflessness. The jock is
usually the bully, muscular, good looking and not very smart.(Denby 343) In an
essence, the male counterpart of the cheerleader. The Jock and the Cheerleader are

Violet is a pretty, popular, soccer player with an equally popular soccer player
boyfriend. However, Violet s world comes crashing down when the women s
soccer team is cut from her high school due to lack of funds. Violet in turn decided
to impersonate her twin brother Sebastian at her rival school so that she can tryout
for the male soccer team and show her now ex boyfriend that girls can play just as
well as boys. At her new high school she falls in love with her brother s roommate.
The problem is, he thinks she s a boy. Violet is not your typical movie heroine, in
the beginning of the movie she seemingly has everything a girl could want,
however her passion for soccer drives her to step outside the norm and prove
herself. Although the main character in this movie contradicts Denby s view of
teen movies, there are many other characters in the movie who fall directly in line
with Denby s theory. For example, Sebastian s girlfriend Monique is a typical
cheerleader type character. She has no regard for anyone s life but her own. Also,
Violet s divorced parents are completely unaware that their son Sebastian is in
London playing with a band, and their daughter Violet is impersonating him in
order to play soccer. In retrospect, Denby s views hold up in analysis. Occasionally
there is a movie or a character that steps outside Denby s stereotype, however most
teen movies are similar.

A Metro North train conductor shared a fascinating secret with me about the famous
United States president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, when I commuted home one
evening. According to the conductor, in order to hide his paralysis from the public,
Roosevelt used a private railroad track, train car, and elevator to enter the Waldorf
Astoria. Instead of routing his private railcar to Grand Central, Roosevelt used Track
61 to enter directly into the hotel. Although this track has been out of service for
decades, it still contains the original train car and private elevator used by Franklin D.
Roosevelt. Another key part of Manhattan s history that can be found in Grand
Central is actually hidden in plain sight. Most people who visit the train hub focus
their attention to the ceiling of the main concourse, adorned with a celestial mural. In
looking closely at Cancer the Crab, a dark patch of the ceiling stands out amongst
the rest of the blue mural. This patch was purposely left in this condition, showcasing
how dirty the station s ceiling was prior to the 1998 restoration project. Contrary to
popular belief, the grime on the ceiling primarily resulted from cigarette ash, prior to
the ban on indoor smoking, rather than the soot from the

nutrients required for pine trees. Fig 1 pH level shows slight acidity for the
ravines soil, which is healthy for pine trees. The test shows the pH at 6.5, and most
pine trees prefer neutral to acidic soil, which the ravines soil is suitable for the

potash level is at a surplus level, the nitrogen level is sufficient, and the
phosphorous level is adequate. Compared to the soil that is affected by Georgia
Pacific (GP), the results are almost completely opposite. Fig 5 shows that the soil
is very acidic, which is not healthy for pine trees. It is at 6.5 pH level, and that is
considered to be on high end of acidity. Figs 6 8 show the nutrients of the soil, and
it proves that nutrients have been stripped. The potash level is adequate, the
nitrogen level is depleted, and the phosphorous level is deficient. This means that
the soil will not have the vegetation to support the pine trees in that area if the
nutrients are continuously being stripped. According to Georgia Pacific s statement
, they promise to maintain a healthy forest ecosystem, but there is still a significant
difference in the amount of nutrients contained in the soil when comparing to the
Ravine Gardens. GP also have a policy, for every tree that is uprooted it should be
replaced with three more trees. Although, this is a good method, it won t thrive if
soil does not have the nutrients to sustain it. Due to the continuous deforestation of
the land, it caused the nutrients to be stripped, which will be difficult for future pine
trees to thrive there. It is visible in fig 9 that the soil has lost its nutrients. The soil
seems dry and stripped of life compared to the Ravines, where the soil was luscious

Some of SME may require for packaging while other SME may require for

manufacturing or selling product SME. Third party logistic has greater knowledge
and equipment to support their logistic service compared with non logistic based
SME. Thus, SME do not need to purchase more equipment, storage place or

their core business. Thirdly is flexibility, 3PL can be more flexible in distributing the
products to different region since they have a strategic location for their warehouse

percentage of institutions using such clauses (22 percent) in our sample.
Go it alone clauses are usually included within an arbitration clause. As shown below,

51. Essay on Inflation and Absolute Power
Throughout the years the government has gained complete control over money and
its development. The government wanted control because it believes that it is easier
to acquire monetary assets if they have the control over all money and, at the same
time, eliminate the middle man of trade. With the ever growing population the
government came up with a way to counterfeit moneyto keep up with the demand of
money. This counterfeiting of money created inflation. Inflation happens when there
is more and more money being created, this lessens the value of each individual
dollar. Inflation also lowers the standard of living because people decide to buy now
and pay later, this also creates higher inflation. Inflation causes the business cycle to

In order to gain absolute power the government had to have a monopoly of the
minting business. In doing this the government could produce any denomination of
coin it deemed necessary. Rothbard states, another important step in taking control
over money was the naming of the monetary units. This separated the government
from the money of the world market. This made it easier for the government to
counterfeit and debase the money. The next step to gain power over money was to
create price controls. According to Rothbard, these price controls would redirect the
public s eye from the governments inflation tactics. The government created legal
tender laws that decide what money can be. This means that old coins that have lost
value are now the same as new coins. This paved the path for the government to have
control over the banking operations. The government needs to have control over
banking operations to help promote the development if inflation. The government
tells the banks that they do not have to repay their debts, but have to force barrowers
to repay their loans when they are due. Rothbard states, the government also
portrayed to the public that any attempt to redeem money from the bank during an
economic crisis was not considered patriotic. This was due to the fact that the
government had printed so many pseudo receipts there was not enough money to
back them all up. There for the Federal Reserve System, or the U.S Central Banks,

Longing for the Sea Green Deep Love, like anything else, is born irrevocably from
chance. The infinite decisions made each day by each person are what govern the
world and it s from this mess, this entanglement of choices that we then make our
own. All of human history is wound up in itself, and no one event can accurately
be viewed in isolation. To trace a line from the beginning of time to a single
occurrence and describe that chain as inevitable would be an impossible task. But
with this model of coincidence and a fundamental lack of recurrence everything is,
as Kundera would put it, unbearably light. How can we possibly find any meaning,

As Kundera correctly points out, there s something unbearable in the thought that
a love that feels so necessary could just as easily have never have occurred at all.
Tomas gives us two opposing ideas, there s the Es muss sein that he looks for in
his love with Tereza, but also the phrase Einmal ist keinmal...(What happens but
once, might as well have not happened at all) (8). For Kundera, coincidence is
proof of lightness, since the singularity of experience is lightness, and coincidence
betrays that singularity, telling us that in any alternate turn of events (a different
coincidence) things could have gone a different way. He presents two systems,
one in which fate controls our actions, and a greater meaning exists, and another in
which our lives are meaningless because of their abrupt and coincidental nature.
This second system is the one Kundera tells us exists, but just like Tereza and
Tomas, Kundera tells us we re driven toward the meaning fate provides: We all
reject out of hand the idea that the love of our life may be something light or
weightless; we presume our love is what must be, that without it our life would no
longer be the same; we feel that Beethoven himself, gloomy and awe inspiring, is
playing the Es muss sein! to our own great love (35). What we want in life, and in
love, more than anything else is

The effects of Lead Nitrate contamination on the plant Brassica rapa

Abstract
In my biology class we conducted an experiment to determine if there was a direct
correlation between the concentration of lead levels in soil and the effect it has on
plant synthesis and plant height. The specimen used in the experiment is a species
of plant, Brassica rapa. Seeds of B. rapa were careful planted within every cell of a
cubical that was filled with six different concentrations of lead which was our
treatment group and the control was the cubical with no lead soil in it. Plant height
and temperature were recorded with a thermostat and a mm ruler. The results show
that lead concentration does not have a relationship with plant height except in
concentration of 100 mg/kg and 2000 mg/kg. During this three week experiment, the
mean of over a hundred students plant heights were recorded and all the student s
plants showed similar results meaning lead nitrate concentrations in soil does not
affect the growth.

When Prospero talks about his magic it makes sense to read it as a supernatural
power or an illusion that is shaping the events of the play; however, it makes more
sense to read it as him manipulating people and events. At the time the The Tempest
was written The Oxford English Dictionary defines it in this way stating, The use
of ritual activities or observances which are intended to influence the course of
events or to manipulate the natural world, usually involving the use of an occult or
secret body of knowledge; sorcery, witchcraft. Also: this practice as a subject of
study. (OED) this involves all the components seen in Prospero s magic. Reading
magic in this way specifically in act 5 scene 1 lines 45 58 enhances the reading of
this passage in making Prospero arguably seen as the author of this play giving him

Elgin. They are now located in the British Museum. Therefore, the Greece

Therefore, I think it is best for this art to be distributed or be kept in Britain, so it
can educate people about the culture of Greece. This way, we can see the
phenomenal of other cultures in a short distance instead of traveling to that region.
For example, Cyrus Cylinder or Cyrus Charter is a piece from the old Persian
Achaemenid which is in a British museum. Many Iranians people want this piece
to return back to Iran; however, I personally am against this movement, because I
know if this piece returns to Iran it might not be taken care of in a proper way at
this time of a day (this might not be true in the near future). By not having this piece
of art in Iran just like the Elgin Marbles not being in Greece, many people have a
chance of learning about the historical aspects of these ancient arts by a near
experience, by visiting the museum in Britain. Another reason that I think Britain
should keep the Marbles is that by moving them to Britain, the Marbles were saved
from getting ruined. In my opinion, Lord Elgin had good intentions by sending the
Marbles to Britain, because they were already extensively damaged and was entirely
neglected, as the Parthenon was in the hands of the Ottomans. Which in conclusion,
