FabFoundry aims to democratize supply chain expertise for hardware startups by connecting them to experts. It plans to do this through a two phase approach: 1) Building a trusted community of startups and experts through an accelerator program and online marketplace; 2) Leveraging the community through the online marketplace where startups can consult experts on supply chain issues and experts can promote supplier solutions. The marketplace will generate revenue through subscription fees from startups, sponsorships from suppliers, and sales commissions. FabFoundry has begun building its community through accelerator programs in Kyoto and New York City and aims to partner these cities through a $50 million seed fund and network of factory experts.
