Interpretive Essay Outline
Writing an essay on the topic "Interpretive Essay Outline" can be quite challenging. Firstly,
crafting a comprehensive outline requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and the
interpretive approach. This entails thorough research to gather relevant information and sources
that support the intended interpretation.
Moreover, organizing thoughts and ideas coherently within the outline poses another hurdle. It
demands clarity of expression and logical structuring to effectively convey the interpretation.
Additionally, choosing the most suitable framework for the essay, whether chronological,
thematic, or analytical, adds another layer of complexity to the task.
Furthermore, ensuring that the outline aligns with the overall argument and thesis statement
while incorporating critical analysis and interpretation requires a high level of analytical thinking
and writing skill.
Overall, crafting an interpretive essay outline demands meticulous attention to detail, critical
thinking, and a strong command of language and writing conventions to effectively convey the
intended interpretation.

Essay On Mas Selamat
The escape of Mas Selamat was one of the major political scandals that occurred in
Singapore, which involved the one and only prison break of a highly dangerous
terrorist.
Mas Selamat bin Kastari began his involvement in terrorism in the early 90s when he
joined a precursor movement to the Jemaah Islamiah (also known as the JI) group.
An Indonesian born Singaporean, he headed to Afghanistan for training, where he
devoted his time and attention to gaining knowledge of the Taliban system of
governance in his early thirties. He was also suspected to have devised the plot to
bomb Singapore Changi Airport in January 2002, followed by the planning of
hijacking a plane scheduled from Bangkok and crashing it into Singapore Changi
Airport. He was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being cautious, he kept little contact with the villagers after moving into the village
and will occassionally tend the compound s garden.
On 1 April 2009, Mas Selamat was arrested by the Malaysian authorities in Johor.
The operation consisting personnel from Royal Malaysian Police, Special Branch and
Special Actions unit broke through the doors and rushed into the house when Mas
Selamat refused to surrender when ordered by the team. The news was then
announced to the public through the Singapore media on 8 May 2009, which later
was confirmed by both the Singapore and Malaysian governments. Mas Selamat was
being held under the Internal Security Act by the Malaysian government, based on
the ground that Mas Selamat was scheming a plan leading to the arrest.
Mas Selamat was deported back to Singapore for detention under the Internal Security
Act on 24 September 2010.
What has attributed to Mas Selamat successful arrest was the sharing of intelligence

Persuasive Essay About Transgender
Have you ever thought you weren t who you re supposed to be? Have you ever
thought you weren t the right gender? Well trust me there are a lot of people like
you. There has been so much controversy about transgenders though. Many are
criticized and some even harm themselves. They are discriminated against and are
bullied by some. They are told they can t do certain things because they are
transgender. They are told they cant use a certain bathroom and cant join the army.
These are the struggles of transgenders.
Transgenders are being told they cant use the bathroom they want to. There is a
story about a MTF (male to female) six year old that was told that she cant use the
girls bathroom at school. For a year and a half, it wasn t an issue. But in December,
Coy s school informed her parents that she would no longer be permitted to use the
girls restroom. (From school to society, the intolerance transgender people face).
The bathroom, and more specifically the public restroom, is where the rights of
transgender people come into close proximity with the privacy rights of everyone.
The Supreme court took a case on October 28, 2016 about a FTM (female to male)
high school student who wanted to use the boys bathroom. They agreed with the
previous statement about the privacy of the bathrooms. (Transgender Bathroom
Issue: a Solution?). This has proof that it has happened to many people in schools
and can help many people who are struggling with this.
Trump banned transgenders from joining the military.... WOW. Our president
Donald Trump posted a tweet on twitter which said After consulting with my
Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States
Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any
capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and
overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs
and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you . A judge
in the federal court put a temporary ban on this request. He said his ruling was
because it was a disapproval of transgender people generally. (Judge Blocks Trump s
Ban on Transgender Troops in Military). Even people with a lot of power
The Law Of The Corn Laws
Another way in which a comparison of the two thinkers can be given with respect
to the Corn Laws is through their positioning on the issue of Say s Law. To
introduce this concept, Jean Baptiste Say developed the Law of Markets, which is
commonly referred to as Say s Law, in his A Treatise on Political Economy. He
maintains that in order to consume, one must provide supplies for another s demand
in order to earn a unit of account to consume goods, meaning a consumer must also
be a producer (Say, I.XV.133). Therefore, the economy is a constant cycle of
production, proving that supply creates its own demand. Because of this implication,
Say s Law can be viewed in relation to the Corn Lawsas the law implies both that an
economy will equilibrate without a need for government intervention and that free
tradeis non distortionary. Knowing this, it becomes evident that the law was
supported by Ricardo, albeit implicitly, and explicitly rejected by Malthus. This
section will therefore more indepthly move through the two thinker s opinions on the
law to prove their stance on the greater issue of the Corn Laws.
Malthus disagrees with Say s Law, as it oversimplifies the nuance of the economy
through its failure to account for the insufficiency of demand coupled with
overproduction. The main argument about the insufficiency of demand is brought
about by the expenditure of the different social classes. The insufficiency of demand
he notes makes up his glut theory. For Malthus,
Essay on Christopher Columbus
America s national memory is filled with icons and symbols, avatars of deeply held,
yet imperfectly understood, beliefs. The role of history in the iconography of the
United States is pervasive, yet the facts behind the fiction are somehow lost in an
amorphous haze of patriotism and perceived national identity. Christopher Columbus,
as a heroand symbol of the first order in America, is an important figure in this
pantheon of American myth. His status, not unlike most American icons, is
representative not of his own accomplishments, but the self perception of the society
which raised him to his pedestal in the American gallery of heroism.
This gallery was not in place at the birth of the political nation. America, as a young
republic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People had even more reason to think of themselves in distinctive American terms.
(Noble, 250) Americans, searching for a history and a hero, discovered Columbus.
A rash of poetic histories and references to Columbus emerge in the years following
the Revolution: Philip Freneau s The Pictures of Columbus, Joel Barlow s 1787 The
Vision of Columbus, and Phillis Wheatley s 1775 innovation, the poetic device
Columbia as a symbol of both Columbus and America. King s College of New York
changed its name in 1792 to Columbia, and the new capitol in Washington was
subtitled District of Columbia, in deference to those who would name the country
after Columbus. Noble observes that,
It is not hard to understand the appeal of Columbus as a totem for the new republic
and the former subjects of George III. Columbus had found the way of escape from
Old World tyranny. He was the solitary individual who challenged the unknown sea,
as triumphant Americans contemplated the dangers and promise of their own
wilderness frontier...as a consequence of his vision and audacity, there was now a
land free from kings, a vast continent for new beginnings. In Columbus the new
nation without its own history and mythology found a hero from the distant past, one
seemingly free of any taint from association with European colonial powers. The
Columbus symbolism gave America an instant mythology and a unique place in
history, and their adoption of Columbus magnified his own
The Grand Canyon, A Landscape Made From Mixed Media
The Grand Canyon, one of the United States most popular tourist attractions. The
canyon has drawn various people to it, including artists who depict its beauty in
multiple forms. Throughout this report, I will be discussing and critiquing Rose
Eagers Grand Canyon, a landscape made from mixed media. While reviewing this
piece of art at the Carnegie Art Center located in Turlock, CA; I learned a lot about
the content.
Rose Eager, in her later years was a victim of macular degeneration, a horrific disease
of the eye that slowly changes the way we see. Macular Degeneration recently
diminished my ability to see color and depth, so I started a new series of work using
achromatic neutrals, black, white, and grey over invented textural relief ... Show more

Eager has multiple aspects of her image that strongly support a formalist viewpoint.
Her artwork has definite structural aspects that have a greater meaning then you
originally think. To break down the image in even more depth, when you first
glance at the image, the first area that your eye is drawn to is the tree, more
specifically the tree branches. These branches are extremely textured, giving them
almost a true bark like appearance. The leaves on the upper left corner of the piece
look like they are almost protruding off of the rest of the image.
The form of this image also adds to its components of formal analysis. Form is based
on color, composition, texture and line. This image by Eager has all of these major
elements. The composition is constructed with purpose, to show the flow and depth
growing throughout the image. There are multiple lines in this art piece, the first
can be seen through the top of the work, it goes through the tops of the trees and
atop the mountain peaks. Then, there are implied lines, one can be seen between
the mountain peaks coming towards the tree, or vice versa. The color scheme again
follows her depiction of living with Macular Degeneration, she lost the ability to see
colors, and in her image, she only used shades of greys and black. In order to combat
the depth, she was losing
My Trip To Las Vegas
It was March 27, 2016; my family and I were all leaving to go to Las Vegas for
Spring break. We finally left at 9:30 am and are plane was leaving around 11:45. We
were in the car for about 2 hours to go to Des Moines. My sister and I sat together
while Jeff and my mom were sitting behind us on the plane. All I did on the plane
was sleep and listen to music.
We finally got to the airport in Las Vegas so we started walking to the taxi lane. A
taxi came for us and it was a van taxi. The man helped us with are bags and put
them in the back of the van. Jeff (my step dad) asked him how long he s been a taxi
person. The man said for about 4 years and how the first time he first came to las
vegas they drove from Kansas city to Las Vegas and he said that it took him three
days to get there with him and his family. We finally got to our hotelit had these
figures on top of the hotel. The hotel was called Harrahs.
We went inside and there was slot machines everywhere. It was a casino inside a
hotel combined with food too. The smell of smoke really stung my nose at first
until I got used to the smell. My mom went to go check us in at the check in table. It
took at least an hour until we got to the table. They said that our hotel room was not

on the side and refrigerator, there was also another room with two beds and a
bathroom hooked to that part of a room. The bathroom had a toilet that was on the

For Mystical Creatures And Humans, There Are A Variety
For mystical creatures and humans, there are a variety of differences that each other
needs to know. For both the development of their relationship in a TV show or film
would be demonstrated as the human getting to know how their loved one survives
and how they would not get killed by them; they would also demonstrate the idea of
how the vampireis so deeply in lovethat he would never hurt the human. As an
example: Elena learns about vampires from the Salvatore brothers, Stefan and
Damon, when they both fall in love with her. At first they try to hide it but later it
becomes too obvious to keep away from Elena since supernaturalpowers came up
(super speed, compelling). As in for Twilight, the same happened to Bella. Edward
chased her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern day vampire s capabilities of giving and receiving love give the insight
that they are much more human than what they were perceived in previous novels.
Earlier stories like Dracula and The Vampyre demonstrated lust over love because
the main idea was to seduce humans to fall for them then kill them which was how
it made them look like monsters; with TVD and Twilight, self control plays a major
role when vampires are around those they love, they learn to control the urges of
biting them and use an alternative option like drinking animal blood instead of
human blood. They care more about the safety and feelings of the human rather than
their own selfish desire for human blood; therefore they create a more sentimental
idea and demonstrate a form of love by doing this.
The human also shows their love by learning how to accustom their new life with
their vampire lover. The mortal has to cooperate with what the vampire does to
stay alive like still eat animals for the need of blood. They too have their fair
amount of work and need to follow rules in order to stay in this dangerous
relationship because loving the supernatural does not come easy. Elena in TVD used
a necklace with vervain (harmful plant for vampires) to keep herself safe from any
compelling or bites from any vampire including her boyfriend. In Twilight, Bella did
not use anything but Edward would protect her from other vampires wanting her
blood. But
Stand by Me
An important relationship between characters in the film Stand by me Directed by

summer of 1959 and that his outlook on life forever. An important aspect of the

The Impact Of Omari On A Culturally Competent
Household
Omari was raised in a culturally competent household, as a result of this, it has
enabled him to experience multiple cultures his entire life. This is unique, because
not many children are able to say they were raised in a household that was African
American and Asian with the religious faiths of both Christianity and Muslim
existing under the same roof. While the United States is becoming itself more
culturally competent, it is uncertain how many families raise their children with
this same understanding (Yan Wong, 2005, pp. 181 188). Omari was able to learn
in this environment and was given the opportunity to make decisions that benefited
him, while still maintaining the support of his parents. Aside from religious and
ethnic challenges he faced, being able to learn from what his parents experienced
while they were growing up helped to shape the way he is today. Growing up in
areas that were not ideal and moving to a better place, was one manner his parents
were able to help ensure that he would be given better opportunities than they had.
This allowed him to make the decision to leave his parents and join the military.
Which, while rough, has given him his present situation. The most difficult part of
Omari s current situation has to do with his living environment. Which was once a
desirable area, is now drug ridden due to the economic collapse. Omari still focuses
on the positive of this aspect, that he has his parents support and close friends he
grew up with. A

We are highly confident that this new system would complete and support the audit
trail of incoming mutual fund transfers at LPL Financial. As stated in chapter 2, an
audit trail of transactions maintained within a company s system enables information
users to follow the flow of dataВ… We would first concentrate on the automation and
the support of mutual fund transfers. However, eventually, the database would
support all incoming and outgoing transfers. This new database would integrate
information from both the Accorde System and the BETA System. The 3 systems
would be able to communicate and relay both client and transfer information. This
would alleviate any inaccurate information and the inefficiency of the entering of
information. An example of the new process is as follows:
1.A client fills out transfer forms to request the transfer of five mutual funds.
2.The forms are delivered to LPL and received and imaged by the Accorde System.
3.An employee in the transfer department reviews the image of the transfer form and
information is verified off of the BETA System.
4.Information such as client name, SS#, and LPL account info from BETA and
Accorde is transmitted to the new database.
5.The mutual fund information (CUSIP and # of shares) is entered onto the new
database by an employee.
6.The newly entered mutual fund information would be
Social Media As A Marketing Tool
The way that individuals and businesses communicate and interact has radically
changed. With the development of technology and the internet, people can connect
almost instantaneously and with very little effort. Social media has come to play a
huge part in the way that the world communicates with each other. In fact, a recent
report shows that in a single month people spend over 25 hours on social networks (
The Digital Consumer ). With consumers committing that much time to social media
sites, social networking has become an important aspect of everyday life for
individuals and businesses. Like most marketingactivities, social media marketing
poses some risk. However, it is advantageous for businesses to exploit this
opportunity, and develop an effective and ethical marketing strategy that includes
using social media as a marketing tool.
Discussion
What is Social Media Marketing?
Businesses use platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as a modern
tool to share information with their customers. Facebook offers the option for
businesses to create a fan page for their company or product. Twitter allows the use
of 140 character posts that users can follow, tweet, or retweet. Blogs are less
commonly used, but allow businesses to write in journal type format. YouTube
offers a video library to its users with millions of viewers around the world. There are
many other types of social media but most of them follow similar general
communication capabilities. Utilizing these
Archetypes In Pan s Labyrinth
Pan s Labyrinth is a story about of a young girl named Ofilia, goes on a hero s
journey to return to the underworld to be with her father. In the The Esoteric
Interpretation of Pan s Labyrinth the writer points out that there is mystical and
archetypal symbolism found throughout the movie. In the the esoteric interpitation
of pan s labyrinth the writer does a great job of pointing out many of the architypes
in the movie, but leaves out a few that I think are in the movie. The essay does a
good job of creating a summary of the movie, and then they talk about different types
of architypes in the movie. The first architype is when ofelia places the the missing
eye back in t0 the monument of the faun. This shows that Ofilia has an ability to see
or believe in fairy tales, and she notices that adults do not have the ability to see things
that cannot be physically seen. When Ofilia placed the eye into the monument starts

Hugh Hefner s Playboy

Playboy has been a very controversial magazine over the past 50 years but has
somehow managed to become an important brand along with the man who created
it, Hugh Hefner. Both have come to obtain amazing status worldwide and have
become symbols or icons in the United States, Hef as a sexual icon, a ladies man
who built the magazine s enterprise on his own and the magazine has strived and
produced interesting, unique and controversial topics for men around the country. It
s interesting to see how today, when magazines have been on the losing end of news
and entertainment it s still striving and has become ever so important in the
American life, no longer a simple magazine, playboy has become something much
more and for that reason I have decide to investigate how is it that a magazine as
controversial as Playboy has become a national icon in the US?
If one was to watch videos and read articles to understand Hugh Heffner s lifestyle,
to see the story behind his success and what lead to the creation of the magazine it
would be easy to understand how it stands out on a world scale. Through all this,

Persuasive Essay On 18 Years Of Life
2 days 15 hours 3 minutes and 4 seconds left to live. When the miniature timer in

I have heard that you regret the choices you have made and are seeking advice. I
would like to reassure you that I am here to help you. I know something wonderful
that can help you find peace and heal you personally as well as your damaged
relationship with God and the community.
When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own
way instead of remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation
between the community, God and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and
affects the community of believers. When we sin, we damage our ability to
experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Our actions have a
ripple effect that affects the whole community. This means that we... Show more

Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to
be reconciled with God and the church.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This
means, turning away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others.
Through this sacrament, members of the Catholic Church can continue to experience
God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with God, themselves and the
church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they receive the
grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being.
Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new
relationship between self, God and community. All of us will at some point in our
life need reconciliation with people and sometimes even with ourselves. For
Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all experience times when
we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change of
heart.
Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what
will happen. Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin
and shows that we are ready to do something about changing our behaviour. When
going to Confession, there is two main people involved: the penitent, who is seeking
forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins. The priest does not
forgive sins
Symbolism in The Story of an Hour
Symbolism in the Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin For this lesson I read The
Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin. Although there are many literary devices used in
The Story of an Hour , I have decided to write my essay on the use of symbolism.
The literary device symbolism is a technique used to represent ideas and events by
using significant or important things that stand out in the story. A few things that
stood out most in the story would be the comfortable chair, and Mrs. Mallard s heart
troubles. Other things used to represent symbolism in the story were the blue sky
and the open window. Mrs. Mallard had significant heart problems and this was
stated in the beginning of the story. A heart is a symbol of emotional care and... Show

Beyond Tokyo: Disney s Expansion in Asia

Early in 1999, Michael Eisner, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, voiced his

Attendance and operating income in France were less than anticipated and a major
restructuring of the Euro Disney operating company was affected in 1994. Cultural
challenges, as well as a European recession in the early 1990s, resulted in less than
expected success of the park and its related hotels and facilities. Renamed
Disneyland Paris early in 1994, and with enhanced performance, the Disney
European experience finally began to pay off for this facility, which, by the late
1990s, was the largest theme park in Western Europe!
With these two, quite different, experiences in operating a large theme park and
resort facility outside of the continental United States, the Eisner management team
was ready to move into China. Two locations were in the running early in 1999,
representing quite different operating and financial strategies and structures. Either
Hong Kong or Shanghai would likely be the site of the next Disney theme park. This
was the challenge faced by the Disney management team, with a target decision date
of June 1999.
2. How do cultural variables influence the location choice of theme parks around the
world?
Cultural obstacles influence the location of new theme parks in Asia. One is finding
the right location. Often, more important than content is whether a venue is located
in a metropolis, whether it is easily accessible by public transportation. However, in
cultural perspective, there is an additional threat of
Compare And Contrast The Minority Report
The text The Minority Report by Philip K. Dick is a commentary on the concept of
innocence and one s freedom of choice. It is often said that stories change
significantly when becoming movies. The movie by the same name Minority
Report directed by Steven Spielberg is based off the same ideas and concept the
unpredictability of life and choices. It is a prime example of how the short storyand
movie differ even if the basic concepts remain unchanged. The movie and short story
share many similarities. Some of the similarities include the themes of morality with
their legal system precrime, security and access to information, crime and
punishment, and fate verse free will. Other similarities in the style of the narrative
include the fact that
Why Is Child Labor Important In The 1800s
In my previous summaries, I discussed the significance and different areas of Child
Labor and now, I want to gain a deeper understanding behind the history and the
origins of it. Child labor didn t start a year ago or a hundred years ago. It started
hundreds upon thousands of years ago. Since not many records were kept during
this time, there wasn t a lot of historical evidence that I could research. Instead, I
decided to look at the history of ChildLabor in the late 1700 s and early 1800 s. I
came across the research of Chelsea Amack, Lawrence Reed, and Wade Thatcher
and decided to use them as my references. The reason I decided to use them was
because they all had referenced history rather than their personal opinions. Their
research was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of workers also called peasants in Britain and other places of the world
during this time was very common. All workers grew up thinking that the highest
level you can get in society was the level which your parents were so in those
times. If your parents were kings or merchants, you would grow up wealthy and
stay wealthy but if you were the majority of the population that weren t wealthy or
rich, you grew up as a farmer, working in farms and learning as a young child how
to do chores around the house. To go into further detail, Reed said The two most
common forms of child labor have become labeled as Parish apprentice children
and free labour children (Reed) In his research he said that Parish apprentice
children were kids that were given by the government, for example, children in
orphanages. These children were brought into factory and farming settings first.
Free labour children were kids who lived at home but worked according to their
parents/guardians wishes. He then says Most were orphans; a few were victims of
negligent parents or parents whose health or lack of skills kept them from earning
sufficient income to care for a family. (Reed) The Industrial Revolution brought many
families into poverty which later played a role in how mothers had to often give up
their children because they couldn t afford to keep them. After orphanages started
getting full, they decided to introduce Parish apprentice children into the picture.
Reed then paraphrases what The Hammonds, a couple who wrote about child labor,
said The Hammonds proceed to report the horrors of these mills with descriptions
like these: crowded with overworked children, hotbeds of putrid
American Indians Totemic Beliefs
To discover the basis of elementary religion, we must further dig into the totemic
beliefs people once had to get to the point where we are today. However, to
understand how our society was constructed. Australian tribes were generally the
ones to believe in totemic but, they were not originally the first to find totemic
beliefs. One of the first people to discover totemwere the North American Indians. In
fact, the civilization was more advanced in Indian tribes than of Australian cults. The
technology has become more developed, the people live in houses or tents and there
are even fortified villages. The social density is greater, and centralization, which is
altogether absent in Australia. (Durkheim 93). The reason why North American

These classifications are indeed the first that we meet in history. We just saw that
they are modeled on social organization, or rather that they have taken the actual
framework of society as their own. It was the phratries that served as genera and
the clans as species. It is because men formed groups that they were able to group
things: All they did was make room for things they themselves already formed. And
if these various classes of things were not simply juxtaposed to one another but
arranged instead of according to a unified plan, that is because the same social groups
to which they are assimilated are themselves unified and, through that union, form an
organic whole: the tribe. The unity of these first logical systems merely reproduces
that of society . (145)
These tribes of men have constructed the idea of social organization and genus in
history, because this, it is the first time social construction is introduced when we
consider tribes and cults that believed in totems mainly in Australia. Durkheim also
Student Disengagement Reflection
Student disengagement is like a virus that spreads to everyone in the class, just
one student with their head down and you soon have a pandemic of uninterested
children. It s vital to stop this disengagement as soon as it appears to keep it
localized to one student. Currently, I am the long term substitute for a High School
Math II class featuring mostly tenth graders. At times it s difficult to hold the
attention of a room filled with snarky teenagers. I use a variety of techniques to
keep my students engaged drawling from High quality instruction, classroom
management skills, and our teacher/student relationship. Every day the lesson
plan for my class is fast paced and as exciting as possible. The idea is to keep them
busy the entire class to avoid disengagement. If we are moving at a good pace it s
harder for a student to zone out or they miss a lot of information. Next, I utilize
different types of materials to explain the topic of the day. I may start by giving
notes and lecturing, then move on to a video where the same idea is communicated
more visually. Changing up instruction methods seems to hold a student attention
better than if I simply drone on lecturing. I also like to switch up activities, class
may begin with a lecture for fifteen minutes then move on to a worksheet or some
online learning. Changing activities provides a natural brain break, although at times
I implant those by telling a joke or allowing a student to share a story. Classroom
management techniques can also ward off disengagement, when a student is
becoming disengaged I try to pull that students attention back to me. Physical
presence can sometimes redirect a child s attention back to the material. I will simply
stand near the student who is drifting and continue on instructing. If that doesn t work
or isn t possible then I call on that student to answer a question, often that student
cannot answer because of their lack of attention so I have another student help. This
usually corrects the lack of attention because they know I am aware of it. Next I use
a direct one on one conversation with the student to redirect them back to the topic at
hand. The dawn of new technology has created other ways for students to disengage.

The Brandenburg Gate Essay
The Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburg Gate is the trademark of Berlin and over the coarse of its life has
been the symbol of peace, victory, power, division, hope, and a united Germany.
The gate is a symbol for Germany much like the Eiffel tower is a symbol for France.
The gate is located on the Pariser Platz. It is the only gate of a series of gates that once
stood in Berlin. The gate is located on Berlin s most famous street the Unter den
Linden, or Under the Lime Trees. This street is straight as an arrow, a mile in length
and leads directly to the royal residence. Due to these conditions the gate is visible
from a great distance.

The main architectural design of this landmark has not changed since it was first
constructed in 1791. However its symbolism has evolved over the course of Germany
s history and has had some minor architectural changes as a side effect.
In 1806 Napoleon passed beneath this gate as conqueror of Prussia and ordered
that The Quadriga be sent to Paris and that a gate be built for it to sit on. It was
exhibited at the Louvre museum, until the Arc de Triomphe in Paris was finished
at which point The Quadriga was placed atop the Arc de Triomphe. In 1814 The
Quadriga was recaptured and brought back to Berlin. This symbol of peace was
changed after the German victory over France and the woman became Victoria, the
goddess of Victory by adding a Prussian eagle on an iron cross to her ensemble. They
also named the square in front of her The Place of Paris .
In 1933 the National Socialists marched through the gate in a martial torch parade,
with them came the darkest chapter of German history, The gate went from being a
symbol of victory to a symbol of the Third Reich. The gate became the starting point
for parades down the StraГџe unter den Linden, for the Nazi military, that used the
gate to symbolize their power. (source 3)

Shovel As A Work Of Art
1. I disagree with the authors definition for work of art. The author states that their
thought on work of art has to be something made by a person. Nature such as trees
and insects are not works of art. I personally hold more of vague and open opinion
on my definition for work of art. I feel like nature and even the uncontrolled
movements caused by non humanare considered as art. My definition of work of art
would be something that can be seen or thought visually by human beings. I would
include everyday objects including water bottles and cell phone with my own
inspirations applied like mixed media as work of art. I think it does not always
have to human or an artist to be involved with the art work. The Fountain by
Marcel Duchamp used a urinal with a fictional name signed as a work of art. He
changed the original urinal by signing differing from an original urinal. Things do
not have to be at a gallery or be complicated designed to be a work of art. The
possibilities of art are endless
2. I would find the Shovel by Jim Dime as a work of art. The shovel was not made
by Jim himself, but he altered the shovel to his own explanation. Jim used shovel
with other material to make mixed media art. He did not just put the exact same
shovel that was mass produced by the factory as work of his art. Shovel does fit the
three criteria. Jim Dime made the finished product of Shovel by mixing other
mediums including paints, wood, a cord, and metal. Jim Dime made the Shovel with
Continuing Professional Development In Nursing
Continuing professional development is essential in the health care system
particularly for the nurses so they can maintain the knowledge and understanding
about up to date health trends, policies, treatments and techniques. It also provides
the opportunity for nurses to maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge,
expertise and develop the personal and professional qualities required throughout
their personal lives (AHPRA, CPD, 2016, page 1). Nurses are individually
responsible for the delivery of safe and competent nursing care and each nurse is

Demand for the health care services are increasing because of the ageing
population and complex health care needs so through regular, useful and well
targeted CPD we advances our skills and knowledge for more challenging patient

2011).Moreover, CPD extends the opportunity for us to keep engaged in and up

Agriculture, Horticulture And Ancient Egypt
Agriculture Horticulture in Ancient Egypt
Introduction
This paper will discuss the history of agriculture in Egypt, the forms of agriculture,
horticulture farming, and climate among other factors. The paper will also discuss
issues of ploughing, irrigation, harvesting, livestock farming planting and the crops
grown in this area. Thus, this paper would discuss the above mentioned subtopics and
indicate their contribution in the development of agriculture and horticulture in Egypt
and the world at large. The description of agriculture resembles that of farming. Thus,
agriculture is the business, science or occupation of cultivating land, raising livestock
and producing crops (El Ramady et al, 2013). Before the prospects of agriculture,
ancient world people used the activities of gathering and hunting as their means of
survival. Thus, agriculture preceded the practice of hunting and gathering among the
ancient people particularly those from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. The Middle
East is credited as being the region where civilization commenced in society and
many discoveries such as agriculture were discovered in this location. Scenically, the
Egyptian landscape is among the extraordinary lands in the globe. The land
comprises a relatively narrow strip of fertile valley that spreads out into the north
delta, while the south spreads through an endless Sahara expanse. The Egyptian land
fertility has never relied on the amount of rainfall for farming and agriculture. The
Dove is Trying to Change the Look of Beauty in Women
According to Dove.com, Only 4% of women describe themselves as beautiful.
Women have always dealt with problems of beauty. Many of them desire to look
like the models they see in the magazines. Unfortunately, this unrealistic
expectation has led American women to judge their own beauty in some negative
ways. However, a campaign by Dove has attempted to convince the other 96
percent of women that they are also beautiful. Dove Real Beauty Sketches is a
short film produced in April 2013 as a part of Dove Real Beauty campaign. The
purpose of this campaign is to show that you are more beautiful than you think by
comparing the sketches of self description and the descriptions from strangers. At
the beginning of the film, over lightly soft music, a group of female participants
from different ages briefly talk about their appearance, and how they wish they can
be somehow different. Then, they are called back into a warehouse where a man
named Gil Zamora, who is a FBI trained forensic artist, is waiting in front of a
drafting board with his back to them and separated by a curtain. He asks them about
their hair color, chin, and their most prominent feature. At the same time, he draws
sketches based on how they describe themselves, and then draw the same people with
the strangers describing them. Then, the commercial continues to flash on the next
screen; the artist shows the sketches to these women with the version of their
appearance in their mind compared to the version everyone

They costume domestic violence by using beautiful Fox and passionate love
making, to turn the violence into something almost resulting from too strong of
love. Too many young men and women will find this all provocatively sexy. The
video portrays the woman looking beautiful, even while being choked; the man
tortured by his rage, longing for love and peace, and believing that if only the
woman would behave, then the man would retreat to serenity (Meyers). This
however is not the real perception people should be seeing, imagining, or believing.
Abuse is not love in any shape or form, but to subjective people who don t
completely analyze the situation, it almost makes it look like in this case domestic
violence can be tolerated and justified. This is not the message we should be

Is what I am seeing real or is it a figment of my imagination? Many people have
found themselves asking this question at some point in their life. This has been a
subject that has been addressed by many philosophers. In this paper the approach to
this topic is centered on Plato s The Allegory of the Cave and Descartes s Meditation
I of The Things Which We May Doubt as compared to the movie The Matrix. One of
the most obvious similarities of the three passages is that they all call in to question
what reality is. In The Matrix reality is conceived through a computer. The computer

also shows a distorted sense of reality. The prisoners believe that what they see
through the shadows is reality. Being tied by the fetters there is no way for them to
see any other reality around them. Based solely on what they see through the
shadows are real to them. The shadows are an artificial source of reality for the
prisoners as the computer is an artificial source for those living in the Matrix even
though both the prisoners and those hooked to the computer feel that it is entirely

Legal Action Against Your Employer
Question 1: If you decided to take legal action against your employer (assume for the
moment that there is no mandatory arbitration agreement in place), how would you
go about doing that? How long would you have to take action?
Taking legal actions out against your employer requires courage, dedication, and
expenses. For an employee to turn and decide to take this particular route, they must
have really felt that their rights were violated. It is mentioned in the textbook that,
Contesting an employer in the legal system is an expensive, protracted, uncertain,
and emotionally draining process. Most employees who have their rights violated by
their employers do something other than take legal action; they quit, join a union,
withhold commitment and discretionary effort, just let it go, or talk it over with the
employer and work things out. (Walsh, Pg. 13). However, if this is not the case then
there are a couple of things that need to be completed in order to successful take
legal action.

Aretha Louise Franklin also known as the Queen of Soul was born on March 25,
1942 in Memphis Tennessee. She is known for being a solo singer, and also a very
talented pianist. Soul, R B, Jazz, and Gospel are genres that she sings. Throughout
her career she signed with Colombia Records and has released many popular

The Bound Of History Summary
The Burden of History Expectation Past and Imperfect David A. Kirsch examines the
manufacture of storage batteries for the electric vehicle, which was manufactured by
various companies. As these companies rushed towards the manufacturing process of
the vehicle, the development of its storage batteries was one of major troubles in the
initial stages of the production process. These companies neglected improvements of
the storage battery by failure to transform any of their previously renowned
characteristics. This was despite expectations by early electric vehicleenthusiasts of a
revolutionary discovery in energy storagetechnology. The expectations were based on
the fact that engineers in the second half of the 19th Century had experienced several
technological revolutions. Regardless of incremental technological changes that have
relatively enhanced the capability of the ordinary electric vehicle, the expectations
were never fulfilled, especially those for better storage battery. Even though there was
significant progress in technologies used to manufacture the electric vehicle system,
none of these technologies were able to meet the expectations. Kirsch s main
argument in the article is that there are no better storage batteries for the electric
vehicle despite smaller technological changes or improvements that have relatively
enhanced the capability of these vehicles. The expectations for better storage batteries
were not realized though the electric vehicle was
The Life and Poetry of Bret Harte

he reaches her, time is stopped. The player can only advance by reversing time.
The game shows the chase in reverse, revealing an entirely different story. Now, it
seems like the Princess is running away from Tim and the knight rescues her
instead of capturing her. The text before this world said that Tim lives oppositely
from the rest of the world and all he wants is to know the Princess, but to the rest of
the world it would seem as if all hope of safety would be destroyed. The reverse
scene is surprising and illustrates the stark differences between Tim s world and
other s. It shows how Tim s pursuit is noble, but to the others that live in a different
world; however, others see him as the antagonist. This revelation is only made
possible by the game allowing the player to reverse
Narrative Analysis Of Rear Window By Alfred Hitchcock
Stephanie Bittar
Narrative Analysis Paper
MCS 273 Rear Window (1955) Alfred Hitchcock s 1954 film, Rear Window,
explores many dimensions in cinematography. The phenomenal film is well known
for proclaiming its voyeurism issues that goes on in today s society. Even though
voyeurism is an act that should not be done, this film portrays it in an affirmative
way. Rear Windowintroduces primary structural components in the first act which
sets the mood for the audience to interact with J.B. Jefferies in a way as it is the
audiences duty to help him solve the mystery on whether Thorwald murdered his
wife or not. The opening images of Rear Window introduces the audience to J.B.
Jefferies apartment with the window curtains rising. The camera is facing outside
the window which reveals the small courtyard. After the camera gives the audience
a tour of the courtyard, it then shows us Jeff sleeping on his wheel chair. From
this, the audience should be able to perceive there is no privacy at all for the
neighbors. What one does, everyone is able to see (only if they are observing). The
music in the beginning sets the mood, the audience should feel safe and mellow as if
nothing bad is going to happen. There is not one suspicion which tells the audience
there will be a murder case throughout this film. With that in mind, the theme is
portrayed through Jeff s perspective from his observation of the neighbors. He
observes the love life of his neighbors while he is questioning his own
Causes And Effects Of Teenage Mood Swings
Causes and Effects of Teenage Mood Swings as perceived by students from
different college departments of DLSL Once puberty kicks, teenagers often feel
too insecure of many things and many people this is because they experience
teenage mood swings which are quite normal, but somehow shows that teenagers
particularly, are still handling an adolescent brain still in progress. Being a
teenager can be compared in a chick still inside and eggshell, wherein they try to
face the world, socialize, find themselves, experience struggling and try best to
survive on their own ( Teenage Mood Swing ). Teenage Mood Swings have causes
and effects which are either good or bad which not only affect teenagers but also the
people around them. The purpose of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

society) d.Past Experiences 2)The most probable effect of teenage mood swings to
teenagers is that their relationships with their friends, family and other get affected;
and the least probable effect of it is that they are much susceptible of taking the
wrong pathways such as taking drugs, smoking, drinking liquors, etc. 3)Most
teenagers experience mood swings 2 3 times a week and they feel emotional,
exaggerated, anxious, disappointed, angry and nervous when they have mood
swings; and for them to be able to lessen , overcome and manage their feelings, they
eat, cry, listen to music, get into trouble, hang out with peers, surf the internet and
even isolate themselves in a room. 4)The most capable of helping teenagers handle
this kind of situation are the parents/family/relatives and the least capable are the
strangers. For further studies, the researchers recommend the following: 1)Expand
the scope of the study. 2)Increase the number of respondents, which may not only be
teenagers but even other people who experience having mood swings. 3)Look for
some other aspects that may be affected because of mood
Successes in American Sport Films
Successes in American Sport Films Sport Industry and Film industry are both highly
developed in America. As a result of that, putting sport elements into movies is a
good way to maximum the effect of entertainment. As an international students,
though sometimes there is language barrier, it is still a great honor to have
opportunities to watch considerable good sport films this semester. While I enjoyed
the wonderful exciting stories, the American value system, especially the value of
success, always impressed me deeply. In China, people are always talking about and
eulogizing American Dream, which is defined as a belief that, in the United States,
truly anyone can make it. That is to say, American Dream is that everyone can... Show

After a thorough investigation of committee from War Department, the thing told in
the letter is proved to be true. The committee recommends that all cheated students
should be dismissed, which causes heated debate in Congress. Some Members even
demand the reinstatement of their enrollment. Students also write articles to
newspaper, to absolve that cheating in athletes, and even in all students are
commonplace things, schools should not dismiss them. However, these efforts
failed to save their fate. They all are dismissed in a cheating scandal which broke
the Academy s Honor Code. Needless to say, the most impressive scenario is near
end of this movie. Young players got their certification from the president and
dismissed one by one, with tears. The young actors accurately showed emotions of
dismissed students. They should have graduated and worked as a military one
day, but due to that scandal, all promising future disappeared. We could easily feel
the cruelty from that scenario and begin to think of the importance of righteous,
especially for army in 1950s. Some people may also think it is too strict for them,
so it is hard for present people to empathize for them. With increasing modernization
and commercialization, wealth is always at the first place in several people s
dictionary, leading honesty. However, nowadays we should still try to be honest in
our daily life. From

The key issues and the relevance of the key issues that apply to partnership:
A partnership is an arrangement between two or more groups, organizations or
individuals to work together to achieve common aims.
In the quote above it explains what a partnership is and what it consists of; it
clarifies what we need to build a relationship and what we aim to achieve at the end
of a positive partnership.
There are many different people we work in partnerships with such as parents,
practitioners,
Lil Yachty Marketing Plan
You have one or more of the following apps on your phone right now: Facebook,
Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat. By looking at your profiles, posts, and all
around activity through these social media platforms I could figure out what you
like, what you do for a living, likes, dislikes, where you went to school, who your
friends are, and much more. This information is your brand. So now you know
what your brand is made up of. Next, how can you improve your brand and connect
with others? Let s take a look at some individuals who have taken their personal
brands to the next level with the use of the social media platforms listed before.
I want to start by looking at Lil Yachty. Yachty is a 19 year old rapper from Atlanta
Georgia. The self proclaimed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lavar is the father of Lonzo Ball a potential top five pick in this year s NBA draft.
Lavar has developed his own athletic brand called Big Baller Brand which his son
is the premier athlete for. Over the last year he has gained popularity for his antics
at his son s basketball games, the bold statements he makes on camera, and his
constant trash talking on his social media platforms. Many are not in favor of Lavar
Ball, but no one can deny the fact that he has successfully built and taken his personal
brand to celebrity status within the sports market. Lavar wisely uses the different
platforms of social media. He makes arrogant and clearly not true statements people
do not want to hear which in turn gets him publicity and exposure. When mentioning
basketball shoes it is almost certain the name Big Baller Brand will enter the
conversation at some point. I understand not everyone wants to be a rapper, music
producer, or start their own athletic brand. With that being said, anyone going into
any field of business, marketing, sales, or a career as an entrepreneur could learn
from these individuals. Publicity is everything and to be successful people have to
know who you are. Building your brand is vital to your
Patient Lookup Patient Training Plan
My training plan is for patient lookup function which to me would be hands on
training. For maybe few patients that can t look up information on a computer a
training program would be beneficial for them. There needs to be a complete
understanding of the information system in order to look up information. To me
patient looks up function can mean the patient can look up information or what it
probably means is that information system programmer can look up all the
information system programmers can look up. All the information needed for that
patient and what sort of treatment they have had and any other information for their
quality care. However, looks up information, whether a programmer or anyone else
they need to have a complete understanding
Battle Of Brownsville Essay
The Battle of Brownsville was the final battle in the American Civil War. Although
it was a Confederate victory, the Union Army won the war. This battle took place
near the present day Rio Grand River. It is sometimes called the Battle of Palmito
Ranch or the battle on the Gulf Coast. There are many opinions on how many
soldiers died that day, but the most reliable seems to come from CivilWar.com. They
say that 118 Union soldiers were lost, compared to only around 6 Confederate
soldiers. The Union Armys purpose was to disrupt any reported Confederate camps
and possible blockades around the area, but failed when their position was given
away by the crunching of twigs and leaves . The Union soldiers both white and black
were forced to retreat
The Misogynistic Henry Higgins
The Misogynistic Henry Higgins
The key to understanding George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion lies in understanding
the power struggle between the haves and have nots specifically the active and
intentional disenfranchisement of women at the turn of the 20th century. At the core
of Pygmalion there is a focus on the societal inequities of the day, with Shaw
presenting society s treatment of women as property without rights and with little
understanding of their surroundings or place in society. Throughout the 19th century,
and into the early 20th century, when Shaw penned Pygmalion, British laws and
society actively restrained women, both politically and economically.
Unlike the United States, women in England were allowed to vote prior ... Show more

Much of English society and government mirrored Higgins beliefs. In 1888, an
appeals court judge, Lord Esther, ruled that neither by Common Law nor by the
Constitution of this country from the beginning of the Common Law until now can
a woman be entitled to exercise any public function. (Aked) This is notable because,
just as with the Reform Act of 1832, the ruling was a detriment to women, as
women were already exercising public functions , such as overseers, way wardens,
church wardens and members of school boards. This ruling was the first of several
rulings and legislations that removed rights and governmental access from women.
These actions of the British Parliament led to the creation of several suffrage
movement organizations in England, such as the Co operative Society and The
Labor Party, each with almost two and a half million members, as well as several
smaller groups, such as The Women s Liberal Association, The British Women s
Temperance Association, The Women s Textile Union, The Women s Labor
League, The National Union of Women s Suffrage Societies, The Women s Social
and Political Union, and The Men s League for Woman Suffrage, as well as many
others. It is well known that Shaw was an avid proponent of women s freedom and
suffrage, and it is quite possible that Shaw wrote Pygmalion with the idea of
promoting women s suffrage as, only three years earlier, he had already penned a

  • 2. Essay On Mas Selamat The escape of Mas Selamat was one of the major political scandals that occurred in Singapore, which involved the one and only prison break of a highly dangerous terrorist. Mas Selamat bin Kastari began his involvement in terrorism in the early 90s when he joined a precursor movement to the Jemaah Islamiah (also known as the JI) group. An Indonesian born Singaporean, he headed to Afghanistan for training, where he devoted his time and attention to gaining knowledge of the Taliban system of governance in his early thirties. He was also suspected to have devised the plot to bomb Singapore Changi Airport in January 2002, followed by the planning of hijacking a plane scheduled from Bangkok and crashing it into Singapore Changi Airport. The news was then announced to the public through the Singapore media on 8 May 2009, which later was confirmed by both the Singapore and Malaysian governments. Mas Selamat was being held under the Internal Security Act by the Malaysian government, based on the ground that Mas Selamat was scheming a plan leading to the arrest. Mas Selamat was deported back to Singapore for detention under the Internal Security Act on 24 September 2010. • 3. Persuasive Essay About Transgender Have you ever thought you weren t who you re supposed to be? Have you ever thought you weren t the right gender? Well trust me there are a lot of people like you. There has been so much controversy about transgenders though. Many are criticized and some even harm themselves. They are discriminated against and are bullied by some. They are told they can t do certain things because they are transgender. They are told they cant use a certain bathroom and cant join the army. These are the struggles of transgenders. Transgenders are being told they cant use the bathroom they want to. There is a story about a MTF (male to female) six year old that was told that she cant use the girls bathroom at school. For a year and a half, it wasn t an issue. But in December, Coy s school informed her parents that she would no longer be permitted to use the girls restroom. (From school to society, the intolerance transgender people face). The bathroom, and more specifically the public restroom, is where the rights of transgender people come into close proximity with the privacy rights of everyone. The Supreme court took a case on October 28, 2016 about a FTM (female to male) high school student who wanted to use the boys bathroom. They agreed with the previous statement about the privacy of the bathrooms. (Transgender Bathroom Issue: a Solution?). This has proof that it has happened to many people in schools and can help many people who are struggling with this. Trump banned transgenders from joining the military.... WOW. Our president Donald Trump posted a tweet on twitter which said After consulting with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you . A judge in the federal court put a temporary ban on this request. He said his ruling was because it was a disapproval of transgender people generally. (Judge Blocks Trump s Ban on Transgender Troops in Military). Even people with a lot of power
  • 4. The Law Of The Corn Laws Another way in which a comparison of the two thinkers can be given with respect to the Corn Laws is through their positioning on the issue of Say s Law. To introduce this concept, Jean Baptiste Say developed the Law of Markets, which is commonly referred to as Say s Law, in his A Treatise on Political Economy. He maintains that in order to consume, one must provide supplies for another s demand in order to earn a unit of account to consume goods, meaning a consumer must also be a producer (Say, I.XV.133). Therefore, the economy is a constant cycle of production, proving that supply creates its own demand. Because of this implication, Say s Law can be viewed in relation to the Corn Lawsas the law implies both that an economy will equilibrate without a need for government intervention and that free tradeis non distortionary. Knowing this, it becomes evident that the law was supported by Ricardo, albeit implicitly, and explicitly rejected by Malthus. This section will therefore more indepthly move through the two thinker s opinions on the law to prove their stance on the greater issue of the Corn Laws. Malthus disagrees with Say s Law, as it oversimplifies the nuance of the economy through its failure to account for the insufficiency of demand coupled with overproduction. The main argument about the insufficiency of demand is brought about by the expenditure of the different social classes. The insufficiency of demand he notes makes up his glut theory. For Malthus,
  • 5. Essay on Christopher Columbus America s national memory is filled with icons and symbols, avatars of deeply held, yet imperfectly understood, beliefs. The role of history in the iconography of the United States is pervasive, yet the facts behind the fiction are somehow lost in an amorphous haze of patriotism and perceived national identity. Christopher Columbus, as a heroand symbol of the first order in America, is an important figure in this pantheon of American myth. His status, not unlike most American icons, is representative not of his own accomplishments, but the self perception of the society which raised him to his pedestal in the American gallery of heroism. This gallery was not in place at the birth of the political nation. America, as a young republic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People had even more reason to think of themselves in distinctive American terms. (Noble, 250) Americans, searching for a history and a hero, discovered Columbus. A rash of poetic histories and references to Columbus emerge in the years following the Revolution: Philip Freneau s The Pictures of Columbus, Joel Barlow s 1787 The Vision of Columbus, and Phillis Wheatley s 1775 innovation, the poetic device Columbia as a symbol of both Columbus and America. King s College of New York changed its name in 1792 to Columbia, and the new capitol in Washington was subtitled District of Columbia, in deference to those who would name the country after Columbus. Noble observes that, It is not hard to understand the appeal of Columbus as a totem for the new republic and the former subjects of George III. Columbus had found the way of escape from Old World tyranny. He was the solitary individual who challenged the unknown sea, as triumphant Americans contemplated the dangers and promise of their own wilderness frontier...as a consequence of his vision and audacity, there was now a land free from kings, a vast continent for new beginnings. In Columbus the new nation without its own history and mythology found a hero from the distant past, one seemingly free of any taint from association with European colonial powers. The Columbus symbolism gave America an instant mythology and a unique place in history, and their adoption of Columbus magnified his own
  • 6. The Grand Canyon, A Landscape Made From Mixed Media The Grand Canyon, one of the United States most popular tourist attractions. The canyon has drawn various people to it, including artists who depict its beauty in multiple forms. Throughout this report, I will be discussing and critiquing Rose Eagers Grand Canyon, a landscape made from mixed media. While reviewing this piece of art at the Carnegie Art Center located in Turlock, CA; I learned a lot about the content. Rose Eager, in her later years was a victim of macular degeneration, a horrific disease of the eye that slowly changes the way we see. Macular Degeneration recently diminished my ability to see color and depth, so I started a new series of work using achromatic neutrals, black, white, and grey over invented textural relief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eager has multiple aspects of her image that strongly support a formalist viewpoint. Her artwork has definite structural aspects that have a greater meaning then you originally think. To break down the image in even more depth, when you first glance at the image, the first area that your eye is drawn to is the tree, more specifically the tree branches. These branches are extremely textured, giving them almost a true bark like appearance. The leaves on the upper left corner of the piece look like they are almost protruding off of the rest of the image. The form of this image also adds to its components of formal analysis. Form is based on color, composition, texture and line. This image by Eager has all of these major elements. The composition is constructed with purpose, to show the flow and depth growing throughout the image. There are multiple lines in this art piece, the first can be seen through the top of the work, it goes through the tops of the trees and atop the mountain peaks. Then, there are implied lines, one can be seen between the mountain peaks coming towards the tree, or vice versa. The color scheme again follows her depiction of living with Macular Degeneration, she lost the ability to see colors, and in her image, she only used shades of greys and black. In order to combat the depth, she was losing

For both the development of their relationship in a TV show or film would be demonstrated as the human getting to know how their loved one survives and how they would not get killed by them; they would also demonstrate the idea of how the vampireis so deeply in lovethat he would never hurt the human. As an example: Elena learns about vampires from the Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon, when they both fall in love with her. Edward chased her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Modern day vampire s capabilities of giving and receiving love give the insight that they are much more human than what they were perceived in previous novels. Earlier stories like Dracula and The Vampyre demonstrated lust over love because the main idea was to seduce humans to fall for them then kill them which was how it made them look like monsters; with TVD and Twilight, self control plays a major role when vampires are around those they love, they learn to control the urges of biting them and use an alternative option like drinking animal blood instead of human blood. They care more about the safety and feelings of the human rather than their own selfish desire for human blood; therefore they create a more sentimental idea and demonstrate a form of love by doing this. The human also shows their love by learning how to accustom their new life with their vampire lover. The mortal has to cooperate with what the vampire does to stay alive like still eat animals for the need of blood. They too have their fair amount of work and need to follow rules in order to stay in this dangerous relationship because loving the supernatural does not come easy. Elena in TVD used a necklace with vervain (harmful plant for vampires) to keep herself safe from any compelling or bites from any vampire including her boyfriend. • 11. The Impact Of Omari On A Culturally Competent Household Omari was raised in a culturally competent household, as a result of this, it has enabled him to experience multiple cultures his entire life. This is unique, because not many children are able to say they were raised in a household that was African American and Asian with the religious faiths of both Christianity and Muslim existing under the same roof. While the United States is becoming itself more culturally competent, it is uncertain how many families raise their children with this same understanding (Yan Wong, 2005, pp. 181 188). Omari was able to learn in this environment and was given the opportunity to make decisions that benefited him, while still maintaining the support of his parents. Aside from religious and ethnic challenges he faced, being able to learn from what his parents experienced while they were growing up helped to shape the way he is today. Growing up in areas that were not ideal and moving to a better place, was one manner his parents were able to help ensure that he would be given better opportunities than they had. This allowed him to make the decision to leave his parents and join the military. Which, while rough, has given him his present situation. The most difficult part of Omari s current situation has to do with his living environment. Which was once a desirable area, is now drug ridden due to the economic collapse. Omari still focuses on the positive of this aspect, that he has his parents support and close friends he grew up with. A

With the development of technology and the internet, people can connect almost instantaneously and with very little effort. Social media has come to play a huge part in the way that the world communicates with each other. In fact, a recent report shows that in a single month people spend over 25 hours on social networks ( The Digital Consumer ). With consumers committing that much time to social media sites, social networking has become an important aspect of everyday life for individuals and businesses. Like most marketingactivities, social media marketing poses some risk. However, it is advantageous for businesses to exploit this opportunity, and develop an effective and ethical marketing strategy that includes using social media as a marketing tool. Discussion What is Social Media Marketing? Businesses use platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as a modern tool to share information with their customers. Facebook offers the option for businesses to create a fan page for their company or product. Twitter allows the use of 140 character posts that users can follow, tweet, or retweet. Blogs are less commonly used, but allow businesses to write in journal type format. YouTube offers a video library to its users with millions of viewers around the world. There are many other types of social media but most of them follow similar general communication capabilities. Utilizing these

When you are born, officials will take you away into a lab to implant a miniature bomb that would completely shut down your body after your time is up. It is supposed to be a peaceful way to die. But no matter how peaceful it was, it is beyond cruel. My parents were killed by the same bomb after my little sister Kianna was born. Kianna and I looked nothing alike. She had honey blonde wavy hair and a baby face, while I had straight dark brown hair and a long narrow face. The law is that you are limited to two children before your death. Just recently they changed the law to allow now only one child. Me and my sister were raised by the people that we were taken from, until I was old enough to get a job and take care of my sister. As a ten year old I got a job with one other person to help clean the neighborhoods. Everything in Washington DC, or even the United States had to be perfect. No trash anywhere, the trees in a perfect line, no leaves fallen on the ground. Everything has to be clean and spotless. Only two days left. I know something wonderful that can help you find peace and heal you personally as well as your damaged relationship with God and the community. When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own way instead of remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation between the community, God and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and affects the community of believers. When we sin, we damage our ability to experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to be reconciled with God and the church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This means, turning away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others. Through this sacrament, members of the Catholic Church can continue to experience God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with God, themselves and the church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they receive the grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being. Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new relationship between self, God and community. All of us will at some point in our life need reconciliation with people and sometimes even with ourselves. For Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all experience times when we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change of heart. Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what will happen. Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin and shows that we are ready to do something about changing our behaviour. When going to Confession, there is two main people involved: the penitent, who is seeking forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins. The priest does not forgive sins

The use of workers also called peasants in Britain and other places of the world during this time was very common. All workers grew up thinking that the highest level you can get in society was the level which your parents were so in those times. If your parents were kings or merchants, you would grow up wealthy and stay wealthy but if you were the majority of the population that weren t wealthy or rich, you grew up as a farmer, working in farms and learning as a young child how to do chores around the house. To go into further detail, Reed said The two most common forms of child labor have become labeled as Parish apprentice children and free labour children (Reed) In his research he said that Parish apprentice children were kids that were given by the government, for example, children in orphanages. These children were brought into factory and farming settings first. Free labour children were kids who lived at home but worked according to their parents/guardians wishes. He then says Most were orphans; a few were victims of negligent parents or parents whose health or lack of skills kept them from earning sufficient income to care for a family. (Reed) The Industrial Revolution brought many families into poverty which later played a role in how mothers had to often give up their children because they couldn t afford to keep them. After orphanages started getting full, they decided to introduce Parish apprentice children into the picture. Reed then paraphrases what The Hammonds, a couple who wrote about child labor, said The Hammonds proceed to report the horrors of these mills with descriptions like these: crowded with overworked children, hotbeds of putrid

It is because men formed groups that they were able to group things: All they did was make room for things they themselves already formed. And if these various classes of things were not simply juxtaposed to one another but arranged instead of according to a unified plan, that is because the same social groups to which they are assimilated are themselves unified and, through that union, form an organic whole: the tribe. Student Disengagement Reflection Student disengagement is like a virus that spreads to everyone in the class, just one student with their head down and you soon have a pandemic of uninterested children. It s vital to stop this disengagement as soon as it appears to keep it localized to one student. Currently, I am the long term substitute for a High School Math II class featuring mostly tenth graders. At times it s difficult to hold the attention of a room filled with snarky teenagers. I use a variety of techniques to keep my students engaged drawling from High quality instruction, classroom management skills, and our teacher/student relationship. Every day the lesson plan for my class is fast paced and as exciting as possible. The idea is to keep them busy the entire class to avoid disengagement. If we are moving at a good pace it s harder for a student to zone out or they miss a lot of information. Next, I utilize different types of materials to explain the topic of the day. I may start by giving notes and lecturing, then move on to a video where the same idea is communicated more visually. Changing up instruction methods seems to hold a student attention better than if I simply drone on lecturing. I also like to switch up activities, class may begin with a lecture for fifteen minutes then move on to a worksheet or some online learning. Changing activities provides a natural brain break, although at times I implant those by telling a joke or allowing a student to share a story. Classroom management techniques can also ward off disengagement, when a student is becoming disengaged I try to pull that students attention back to me. Physical presence can sometimes redirect a child s attention back to the material. I will simply stand near the student who is drifting and continue on instructing. If that doesn t work or isn t possible then I call on that student to answer a question, often that student cannot answer because of their lack of attention so I have another student help. This usually corrects the lack of attention because they know I am aware of it. Next I use a direct one on one conversation with the student to redirect them back to the topic at hand. The dawn of new technology has created other ways for students to disengage. My

I would include everyday objects including water bottles and cell phone with my own inspirations applied like mixed media as work of art. Before the prospects of agriculture, ancient world people used the activities of gathering and hunting as their means of survival. Braid is a puzzle video game that communicates its narrative through snippets of text and game mechanics. This video game uses special game mechanics to deepen the player s understanding of the given text in order to tell a story. The game is divided into six worlds. The first world brings the player into a room made of clouds and the words, Time and Forgiveness written across the top. The player walks across books on pedestals that reveal text. Tim attempts to rescue the Princess, but before he reaches her, time is stopped. The player can only advance by reversing time. The text before this world said that Tim lives oppositely from the rest of the world and all he wants is to know the Princess, but to the rest of the world it would seem as if all hope of safety would be destroyed. The reverse scene is surprising and illustrates the stark differences between Tim s world and other s. This battle took place near the present day Rio Grand River. It is sometimes called the Battle of Palmito Ranch or the battle on the Gulf Coast. There are many opinions on how many soldiers died that day, but the most reliable seems to come from CivilWar.com. They say that 118 Union soldiers were lost, compared to only around 6 Confederate soldiers. The Misogynistic Henry Higgins The Misogynistic Henry Higgins The key to understanding George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion lies in understanding the power struggle between the haves and have nots specifically the active and intentional disenfranchisement of women at the turn of the 20th century. At the core of Pygmalion there is a focus on the societal inequities of the day, with Shaw presenting society s treatment of women as property without rights and with little understanding of their surroundings or place in society. This ruling was the first of several rulings and legislations that removed rights and governmental access from women. These actions of the British Parliament led to the creation of several suffrage movement organizations in England, such as the Co operative Society and The Labor Party, each with almost two and a half million members, as well as several smaller groups, such as The Women s Liberal Association, The British Women s Temperance Association, The Women s Textile Union, The Women s Labor League, The National Union of Women s Suffrage Societies, The Women s Social and Political Union, and The Men s League for Woman Suffrage, as well as many others. It is well known that Shaw was an avid proponent of women s freedom and suffrage, and it is quite possible that Shaw wrote Pygmalion with the idea of promoting women s suffrage as, only three years earlier, he had already penned a
