 INTERNET OF THINGS is a network of physical objects embedded with electronic
sensors to enable transmission of useful data within the network.
This helps in achieving greater value and service by sharing process knowledge and
associated parameter within the enterprise.
 With the help of INTENET PROTOCOL VERSION 6, each and every object can be
individually identified and controlled over a network.
 It will generate a large amount of data , rising the need of a better index and data
management.
 To turn a object into smart object in internet of things we have to give:-
1. Identity
2. Sensors
3. Connectivity
4. controller
 It can create a vast opportunities in future in the fields like:-
1. Medical:- 24x7 remote medical surveillance ,smart medical robots for
performing medical operations.
2. Transportation:-electronic toll collection, smart parking, smart cars , smart
traffic control etc.
3. Building and home automation:- smart lighting ,smart fans etc.
4. Energy Management :-Smart grids, Advance Metering infrastructure.
5. Environmental monitoring ,Media.
As we all know to control so many objects, there will be a basket of remotes .
Many ideas are proposed to solve this problem like mobile application and closed
eco-system of realtek devices etc
BUT, CAN WE REDUCE NUMBER OF REMOTES TO ZERO??????
Or can we create controller such that we don’t have to remember to carry it??
Answer is YES!!!!
 Google Glass:-A smart glasses with OPTICAL HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY that
allows you to surf internet.
 Microsoft hololens:-A smart glasses that is cordless ,self-contained windows 10
computer that provides you a virtual environment to work with gaze, voice and
hand gestures.
 Samsung Galaxy Gear:-A smart watch serves as a companion for all Samsung
galaxy phones that allows you to take call and use other apps
 Parrot flower power:- A sensor that assesses plant’s needs and sends alert to your
smart phone
 Honeywell : Wi-Fi smart Thermostat:- a Wi-Fi thermostat that can be adjusted
from anywhere.
 Wink Relay: home controller:- A touchscreen controller that runs with a wink app
and allows you to manage all your smart devices form single location
 Trends that could create a big impact in next five years will be :-
1. Microsoft hololens:-It provides a virtual environment with all computer
application and also covers the features of Google glass. It comes embedded
with windows 10 and applications like Skype, virtual TV etc.
2. Wink relay: Home controller:-A touchscreen controller to all the appliances of
your home could help in minimum usage of electricity, switching of lights fans
and other appliances
Microsoft Hololens Wink relay: Home controller
 There are vast possibilities of minimizing the remotes used to control the smart
objects but most effective one would be to wear the remote. This can be efficiently
done by combining IOT with E-textile.
 For example we could create a shirt with handcuff that works like a smart watch,
a pocket that works as a Id card. So that users don’t need to worry about carrying
a smart watch or a Id card.
 Buttons can used as a GPS tracker
 Also this shirt can be used for medical surveillance, it can also change color if need
to identify a patient by a normal citizen. This shirt could have endless uses in
military ,medical and aerospace fields.
 IF I am chosen to do an internship, I would like to understand IOT and
Fibertronics more and realize this SUPER helpful E-shirt.
