This study examined the relationship between teacher effectiveness and teacher stress among secondary school teachers in Mumbai, India. 1000 secondary school teachers were surveyed using a teacher effectiveness scale and a teacher stress inventory. The findings showed that less effective teachers experienced higher levels of stress than highly effective teachers. Female teachers also reported higher stress than male teachers, despite equal salaries and workloads. Additionally, the study found a negative correlation between teacher effectiveness and teacher stress - as teacher stress increased, teaching effectiveness decreased. The implications are that schools should take steps to reduce teacher stress, such as establishing reasonable workloads and encouraging a healthy academic environment, in order to support teacher effectiveness.

Influence of Occupational Stress on Teachers' Performance in Public Secondary...inventionjournals
The cost of occupational stress has been very high in many organizations. Stress can undermine the achievement of goals, both for individuals and for organizations. Managers are in dilemma over what interventions need to be employed to minimize the cost associated with occupational stress on organizational performance. This study investigated the influence of occupational stress on performance of teachers in Nyeri South Sub-County, Nyeri County. This study employed descriptive survey research design. Data collection was undertaken using questionnaires which were issued to teachers and principals from 12 out of 34 schools. There was a total of 72 respondents, 12 were principals while the rest were other teachers. Stratified random sampling and simple random sampling was used to pick schools and teachers respectively. The data was analyzed using statistical packages for social sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistics involving frequencies and percentages was used to explain the findings of the study. The study established that the teachers have many activities to carry out in the process of executing their main duty of teaching. These include preparing professional documents including: lesson plan, schemes of work, records of work and student progress record as well as administering, marking and analyzing examinations. In carrying out other duties other than teaching, some respondents indicated that they are not very comfortable, while others indicated that they are comfortable. Regarding interpersonal relationship majority felt that it was good but some indicated that it was bad and very bad in some cases. The study established that most of the resources were adequate or satisfactory but other resources were inadequate in some schools. Most respondents indicated that there were administrative factors that affect teachers negatively. Communication was either good or bad. The study also established that the academic performance of most of the schools in Nyeri south sub –county was average, with a few being above average while the rest were below average. The study specifically recommends that the government should ensure that they are enough teachers in schools to avoid work overload and that the various stakeholders should ensure that there are adequate resources to create a conducive environment. Team building and conflict resolution seminars and workshops should also be held to enhance good interpersonal relationships and those in administration should attend more seminars and workshops concerning administration including the principals, deputy principals and the heads of departments in the schools.

teaching efficacy of secondary school teachers in Owerri Municipal of Imo State Nigeria. Using a descriptive
survey research design. Simple random sampling technique was used to select four hundred secondary school
teachers from twenty secondary schools in Owerri Municipal Imo State Nigeria. Instruments used were:
Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale (long form) (0.90); Teachers Teaching Anxiety Scale (0.84) and Teachers
Occupation Job Stress Scale (0.72). Two research questions were answered at 0.05 level of significance. Data
were analysed using Multiple Regression statistical tool. The independent variables accounted for 72.3% of the
total variance on teaching efficacy of secondary school teachers. In order of magnitude, of the contribution:
Occupational stress has more predictive influence on teaching efficacy of secondary school teachers (β = 0.
382, t = 5.214, P < 0.05) followed by teaching anxiety (β = 0. 164, t = 3.428, P < 0.05) on teaching efficacy of
secondary school teachers. Therefore, School administrator should ensure teachers are given tasks that
commiserate with their ability to avoid the experience of work-overload, burnout and stress. Also, teachers
should take time to update themselves academically as to overcome the challenge of intellectual deficiency that
could generate anxiety while teaching.

Abstract
Purpose: Study aims to depict the phenomena related to Quality of Work Life (QWL) and
Occupational Stress among business management lecturers in private colleges of Oman. It
also intends to find the predictive validity of the proposed model by using SEM path
analysis.
Design/methodology/approach: A combination of descriptive and conclusive research
design was adopted to describe and report the related phenomena. Private colleges of Oman
were chosen for study. Sample frame consisted of all the management teachers teaching in
seven private higher educational institutions in Oman offering management degree. The
sample size consisted of 44 lecturers.
Findings: Study indicated that occupational stress score among management lecturers
were relatively lesser than the average, whereas perceived QWL was found more than the
average in these institutes. It was inferred that perceived QWL was better in these
institution compare to occupational stress. SEM path analysis was also administered to
validate the proposed framework by using SmartPLS software. A negative relationship was
established between two latent construct. The statistics indicated that occupation stress is
negatively affecting the QWL of teachers in management institutions in Oman. But,
proposed hypothesis was not established because T value was reported as 0.927 with p
value of 0.354.
Originality: Based on the review of literature relatively a very few studies targeted on
management lecturers in private colleges of Oman with related variables.

Stress among the Teachers in the Development of Quality TeachingYogeshIJTSRD
The teacher’s job is not an easy task. They are subjected to countenance more than a few problems in teaching. The teachers are entrusted to other job s by Government. The works like conducting census details duty, entrusting selection duties, etc. apart from these works the teachers should be involved in teaching and other connected issues in the teaching attendance preparing mastery rolls, log books, conducting seminars, unit test and other examinations. The pass proportion of the students is the main task of teachers getting ready for academic amid it is another difficulty confronted teachers. Besides these problems their family burdens and educational problems dread them to the stress and strain. This study aims to identify: i) The effect of teacher welfare, self-sustaining development, job satisfaction, and teacher performance on the teaching professional attitude; ii) The effect of teacher welfare on self-development, job satisfaction, and teacher performance; iii) The effect of self-sustaining development on the professional attitude, welfare, job satisfaction, and teacher performance of teachers; and iv) The effect of teacher job satisfaction on teaching performance. This study was quantitative research with a correlational type. The sample was 155 vocational high school teachers in Central Java, Indonesia. Data was collected through a questionnaire technique. The data analysis technique used structural equation modeling with the linear structural relationship type. The study revealed that the teacher's professional attitude has an effect on teacher welfare but not on self-development, job satisfaction, or teacher performance. Teacher welfare has an effect on independent development but has no effect on teacher performance. Hence, independent development does not affect job satisfaction but affects teacher performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction has no effect on teacher performance. These findings can be used as study material for future researchers to analyze the research variables or other variables, such as leadership style, work motivation, work discipline, and others.
A good relationship between teachers and students can positively influence
the subjective well-being of teachers. However, in the context of middle
school setting, a good relationship with students was considered as an
effortful attempt for teacher to maintain which was related to the teacher
well-being too. It was said that the more teaching experience the teacher has,
the easier for them to navigate their relationship with students. Therefore,
this study aimed to test whether the teaching experience moderate the impact
of the teacher-student relationship to the teacher subjective well-being. The
teacher-student relationship was measured using the Student-Teacher
Relationship Scale (STRS), while the teacher subjective well-being was
measured by the Teacher Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (TSWQ).
Respondents in this study were 289 teachers at the middle school level from
both junior high school and senior high school or equivalent. The analysis
technique used was a simple moderation analysis. The result showed that
there was a positive relationship between the teacher-student relationship, the
teacher subjective well-being, and teacher experience. However, this study
indicated that there was no moderation role of the teaching experience in
weakening or strengthening the close teacher-student relationship impact on
the teacher well-being.

Teachers encounter many problems in the classroom and amongst is
classroom management. Classroom management pose a problem to teachers
especially the novice teachers who are not privileged to undergo the training
of teaching profession. Teachers’ personality type play an important role in
whether to increase positive behaviours or decrease negative behaviours
among the students in classroom environment. This study therefore examined
teachers’ personality type as determinant of classroom management in Lagos
State. Descriptive method of research was used for this study. The
respondent comprised of 180 teachers selected from 15 schools in Lagos
State. Two instruments were used in gathering data for the study. Mean
rating and Pearson Product Moment Coefficient were used to answer and test
research questions and hypotheses respectively. Findings revealed that
teachers personality determines their classroom management.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

ABSTRACT: This study was aimed to study the Effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to
Teacher Stress. The objectives were to study and compare teacher effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers
of Mumbai region and to ascertain relationship between Teacher effectiveness of Secondary School teachers
and the Teacher Stress. The Descriptive method of the comparative and co- relational type of research was
employed for this study. The multistage sampling technique was used to select 1000 teachers from Secondary
schools situated in different regions of Mumbai, Thane and Raigad areas of Maharashtra for the study. The
researcher made tool was used to collect data for this study. Findings of this research indicate that less effective
teachers are under a higher level of stress than the highly effective teachers. The findings further revealed that
the Teacher Stress is negatively correlated with Teacher Effectiveness. The study also revealed that Teacher
Stress also varied in male teachers and female teachers despite the fact that both were equally placed in terms
of salary and workload.

INTRODUCTION
A lamp has the unique quality of being able to light another lamp without losing any of its own
brilliance. - Buddha.
If one looks at the extended and expanded role played by the teacher today, then one can definitely
appreciate the truth of the above. From time immemorial the member of the teaching community are considered
the most important members of the society, as they are responsible for the most treasured of all the resources the human intellect.Holding the fortunes of other individuals, the society and the civilization in their palms, the
teacher have achieved an unique position not only in this country and culture, but in societies all over the world.
Therefore there stands a special and important place for the teacher in society as well as in an individual heart
At the same time, the effectiveness of the educational system largely depends upon the active, resourceful and
competent teachers. An effective teacher not only imparts the entire educational curricula allotted to her in the
best and most efficient manner but also ensures the optimum development of the students. In today’s scenario
where there is fierce competition in all spheres of life, effectiveness of the teachers becomes imperative to
empower the students to face global challenges. Effective teaching is a par excellence attribute of quality
education. There are many factors, which influence the effectiveness of the teacher viz. intelligence, attitude
towards teaching, experience, academic qualification, personality, mental health etc. (Raghu, 1994) [1].
Stress is a feeling of tension, which is both physical and emotional. Stress could be caused by
physiological, psychological and environmental demands. In the present study Teacher effectiveness is being
studied in relation to Teacher stress. In a specific occupational related stress the main source of stress is the
occupation of the person. Teacher stress may be defined as a conditionwherein job related factors interact with
theindividual to change his/her psychological or physiological conditions in such way that a person is forced to
deviate from normal functioning. (Selye, 1974) [2].
There are numerous factors that can contribute to teacher stress levels. Weiskopf (1980) [3] identified a
number of sources of stress: (a) work overload, (b) lack of on-the-job success, (c) longer amounts of time
directly interacting with students, (d) poor student-teacher ratios, (e) poorly defined program structures, and (f)
the constant responsibility for others. In a separate review, Fimian (1982) [4] summarized 135 sources and
manifestations of stress cited in the literature into one or more of 13 a priori categories. Additionally, Gallery,
Eisenbach, and Holman (1981) [5] noted four contributing factors: (a) role ambiguity, (b) role conflict, (c) role
overload, and (d) lack of administrative support.

2. A Study of Teacher Effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Teacher Stress
Stress up to moderate level is inevitable and leads to motivation but prolonged Teacher stress has been
found to result in both physiological and psychological ailments which ultimately has adverse effects on
teachers professional efficacy (Kyriacou and Pratt 1989) [6]. Undoubtedly, teaching has become very stressful
profession in the present times. It is an established fact that the performance of a teacher mainly depends upon
his/her psychological state of mind. Teacher stress affects the physical and psychological well being of the
teacher which in turn may definitely influence efficiency and performance of the teacher. Kyriacou and Pratt
(1989), Rao (2001)[7], Upadhyay and Singh (2001)[8],Sabu and Jangiah (2005)[9] have studied Teacher Stress
among teachers in India and have found that the Teacher stress has weakened the efficiency of the teachers. It is
beyond doubt that stress within teaching has far reaching consequences on the entire system of Education and is
considerable. It becomes imperative therefore to study the Teacher Effectiveness in relation to Teacher stress
among teachers. Hence a need was felt to investigate the same.
II.
AIM OF THE STUDY
The main aim was to study Teacher Effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Teacher Stress.
III.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
With a view to achieving the stated aim of the study, the following objectives were formulated
1. To construct the tool to measure Teacher Stress
2. To identify the highly effective and less effective Secondary School Teachers.
3. To study the level of Teacher Stress among highly effective and less effective Secondary School
Teachers.
4. To study the level of Teacher Stress of male and female Secondary School Teachers.
5. To study the relationship between Teacher effectiveness and Teacher Stress among Secondary School
Teachers.
IV.
HYPOTHESES
In order to achieve the aforesaid objectives the following hypotheses of the present study were formulated:
1.
There is no significant difference between highly effective and less
effective Secondary School Teachers.
2.
There is no significant difference in Teacher Stress between male and
female Secondary School Teachers.
3.
There is no significant relationship between Teacher effectiveness and
Teacher Stress among Secondary School Teachers.
V.
METHODLOY
For the present investigation, the researcher used the Descriptive method of the comparative type and
co- relational type.
VI.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
The technique of random multi stage sampling was employed to select Secondary School Teachers
from the Government aided schools from Mumbai, Thane and Raigad regions of Maharashtra.
VII.
SAMPLE AND DATA COLLECTION:
For the present study the sample size of 1000 Secondary School Teachers were selected who were
administered the Teacher Effectiveness Scale of Secondary School Teachers constructed by Dr. Pramod Kumar
and D.N. Mutha. With the help of the scale 234 highly effective and 203 less effective teachers were identified
out of which 200 teachers from each of the category were taken for the study. Out of the total sample 150 male
and 150 female teachers were selected. The Teacher stress of the teachers was studied and analyzed in relation
to Teacher Effectiveness.
VIII.
TOOLS
The Teacher Stress Inventory prepared by the investigator is a 49-item, 10-factor instrument that
assesses the degree of strength of occupational stress experienced by Indian teachers in the public schools. The
five stress source factors are Time Management, Work-Related Stressors, Professional Distress, Discipline and
Motivation, and Professional Investment; the five stress manifestations factors are Emotional Manifestations,
Fatigue Manifestations, Cardiovascular Manifestations, Gastronomic Manifestations, and Behavioral
Manifestations. The five stress source and five stress manifestations subscale scores can be summed and divided
by 10 in order to derive a Total Stress Score.

ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION
The Mean and Standard Deviation for Teacher stress among male –female, highly effective – less
effective and total group were calculated separately. The t-value was calculated to determine the significance of
the difference between Means. The correlation coefficients were found out to see the relationship between
Teacher Effectiveness and Teacher Stress for all the groups. The values of Mean, SD, t-value and correlation
coefficients are presented in Table 1, 2 and 3.

Table 1 shows that the Mean scores on Teacher Stress for highly effective and less effective teachers
are 89.67, 97.95 and for the total group of teachers the Mean value is 92.94. The value of SDs are 15.21,15.14
and 16.11 respectively for the highly effective, less effective and total sample of Secondary School teachers.
The t-value is calculated as 4.98, which is significant at 0.01 level of confidence. It means that less effective
teachers are under higher level of Teacher Stress than the highly effective and total group of teachers.
Many factors contribute to this finding. It is evident that Teacher Stress causes many psychological and
physiological problems to a person, which amply reduces the efficiency of work. For Teacher Stress results in
disinterest in teaching, job satisfaction, laziness and burnouts, which ultimately impair the effectiveness of the
teacher. Hence Hypothesis 1 that there is no significant difference between highly effective and less effective
teachers on Teacher Stress is rejected.
Table 2, reveals that the Mean scores on Teacher stress for male and female teachers are 88.16 and
95.41. The values of SDs are 14.28 and 15.12 respectively for both groups. The t-value is calculated as 4.98,
which is significant at 0.01 level of confidence. It means that the female teachers are having higher level of
Teacher Stress than their male counterparts. Evidently Hypothesis 2 is rejected.
Table 3, reveals that the values of correlation coefficients between Teacher Effectiveness and Teacher
Stress are -0.871, -0.468 and -0.892 for the highly effective less effective and total group of teachers. All the
values are negative and significant. It indicates that with the increases of the teacher gets reduced. Hence
hypothesis 3 is rejected.
X.
CONCLUSIONS
The study reveals that less effective teachers are under a higher level of Teacher Stress than the highly
effective and total group of teachers. Further, the female secondary school teachers are significantly under more
Teacher Stress than their male counterparts. The correlation analysis clarifies that Teacher Stress is negatively
correlated with the Teacher Effectiveness, as the stress among teachers increases as their teaching effectiveness
decreases.

4. A Study of Teacher Effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Teacher Stress
XI. IMPLICATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
The present study points out in unequivocal terms that teachers who are under higher level of teacher
stress are less effective in their profession. Teacher stress is negatively correlated with the effectiveness of the
teacher. Schools need to make attempts to reduce the level of teacher stress among teachers. Workload of the
teachers should be maintained by establishing the proper pupil-teacher ratio. Healthy academic atmosphere
should be encouraged among schools. Special orientation programmes should be organized with the objective of
overcoming the teacher stress among teachers. Yoga and meditation camps may be beneficial to the teachers.
The study further finds that female teachers are under a higher level of teacher stress than the male teachers
despite the fact that both male and female teachers are equally placed in terms of salary and placement. A more
relaxed work schedule should be provided to the teachers.
