Content Analysis ● The radius of the earth is a about 6371 k.m
● The outermost layer of the earth is crust
● Rock containing minerals like silica and alumina
is called sial
● Rocks containing minerals like silica and magnesium
make up the ocean floor called sima
● Sial and sima together make up the crust
● Below the earth crust is mantle
● The upper portion of the mantle and crust Together is
called the lithosphere
● Below the upper mantle the rock are found in a
molten state is called asthenosphere.

CRUST
Outer most layer of the earth
Rock containing minerals like silica and alimia makes

4. MANTLE
● Below the earth crust is mantle
● The upper portion of the mantle is in soild state
● Upper portion of the mantle and the crust together called
Lithosphere
● Thickness of the lithosphere is about 100 km
● The lithosphere consists of 7 major plates and about a dozen
of minor plates
CORE
This part is made up of mainly rocks formed by nickel and iron and hence
It is also called NIFE . The core has two parts- outer core and Inner core.
The outer core is in molten state and inner core is in solid state.
