METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR DETERMINATION OF HUMAN SERUM ALBUMIN MO...Malvina Haxhiu
Human serum albumin is a protein in the blood with a molecular mass 66.5 kDa.
In this study, was developed a method for determination of human serum albumin protein as monomer and its aggregates using a size exclusion column and HPLC instrument. Optimum conditions of the method were flow rate 0.2 ml/min, injection volume of the sample with concentration 5 mg/ml was 0.2 µl, column temperature 30oC, wavelength 214 nm. Mobile phase was sodium phosphate at concentration 150 mM and pH 7 using an isocratic elution. The method is validated in term of linearity, precision robustness, specificity, system suitability test and stability.

First the problem is investigated and the project aim is described followed by an investigation of important domain specific concepts. Next, the iterative design, simulation, implementation and successful online production testing of a roll eccentricity compensator using a frequency based approach suitable for industrial applications is described. Finally, its performance is analyzed and recommendations for future improvement are made.
Water demand forecasting for the optimal operation of large-scale water networksPantelis Sopasakis
Drinking Water Networks (DWN) are large-scale multiple-input multiple-output systems with uncertain disturbances (such as the water demand from the consumers) and involve components of linear, non-linear and switching nature. Operating, safety and quality constraints deem it important for the state and the input of such systems to be constrained into a given domain. Moreover, DWNs’ operation is driven by time-varying demands and involves an considerable consumption of electric energy and the exploitation of limited water resources. Hence, the management of these networks must be carried out optimally with respect to the use of available resources and infrastructure, whilst satisfying high service levels for the drinking water supply. To accomplish this task, this paper explores various methods for demand forecasting, such as Seasonal ARIMA, BATS and Support Vector Machine, and presents a set of statistically validated time series models. These models, integrated with a Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategy addressed in this paper, allow to account for an accurate on-line forecasting and flow management of a DWN.
Terraces in crop fields are one of the most important soil and water conservation measures that affect runoff and erosion processes in a watershed. In this paper, terrace effects on soil erosion and sediment transport in the upstream and middle sections of the Weihe River basin in the Loess Plateau were analyzed using the newly developed terrace algorithm within the SWAT model. Monthly runoff and seasonal sediment yield data between 1960 and 1969 were used to calibrate and validate the model when only a small amount of terraces and reservoirs were installed. The model was then modified to represent terraces based on the survey data. Results indicated that, between 2000 and 2009, terraces in the watershed significantly decreased average annual sediment yields in the upstream and middle sections of the Weihe River by 28 million tons, which is about 10.6% of the sediment transported without terraces. Terraces were also estimated to have decreased sediment transport at the outlet of the watershed by 16.2 million tons per year. The unit area sediment reduction from terrace installation was 3000 t/km2. These effects were important for sediment transport and deposition control, and water quality improvement in the Weihe River basin of the Loess Plateau. Scientists, water resources managers and conservationists will benefit from this algorithm that provides a process-based tool for evaluating and optimizing terrace installation effects at watershed scale.

Adaptive synchronous sliding control for a robot manipulator based on neural ...IJECEIAES
Robot manipulators have become important equipment in production lines, medical fields, and transportation. Improving the quality of trajectory tracking for
robot hands is always an attractive topic in the research community. This is a
challenging problem because robot manipulators are complex nonlinear systems
and are often subject to fluctuations in loads and external disturbances. This
article proposes an adaptive synchronous sliding control scheme to improve trajectory tracking performance for a robot manipulator. The proposed controller
ensures that the positions of the joints track the desired trajectory, synchronize
the errors, and significantly reduces chattering. First, the synchronous tracking
errors and synchronous sliding surfaces are presented. Second, the synchronous
tracking error dynamics are determined. Third, a robust adaptive control law is
designed, the unknown components of the model are estimated online by the neural network, and the parameters of the switching elements are selected by fuzzy
logic. The built algorithm ensures that the tracking and approximation errors
are ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB). Finally, the effectiveness of the constructed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller is effective with small synchronous tracking errors, and the chattering phenomenon is
significantly reduced.

22. Conclusions
23
Intelligent real-time water level forecast models are
developed to forecast the 10-60 min-ahead front pool
water levels by utilizing the current rainfall and water
level.
The results indicate that all of the forecasts are good,
which can well capture the trend of the flooding
hydrograph.
The NARX network produces the best performance in
terms of RMSE, CE and G-bench values.
