This document summarizes Aziz Safa's presentation on Intel's adoption of big data, cloud, and IoT technologies. It discusses how innovative companies are leveraging big data to create disruptive business models and enhance customer experience. Lower costs of computing and storage as well as the growth of unstructured data are driving big data adoption. However, only a small percentage of available data is currently being analyzed due to legacy techniques being insufficient. Intel proposes a unified big data approach to capture, store, manage, and analyze all data types. Advanced analytics applied to big data can provide a competitive advantage if companies build the right skills and move quickly.

Lynn Comp - Intel Big Data & Cloud Summit 2013 (2)IntelAPAC
This document discusses architecting cloud infrastructure for the future. It addresses requirements through workload optimized technologies, composable resources, and software defined infrastructure. Workload optimized technologies match different workloads with optimized server, storage, and network technologies. Composable resources allow flexible, efficient data centers through modular compute, memory, storage, and fabric resources that can be pooled and shared. Software defined infrastructure involves re-architecting the network through software defined networking and re-architecting storage through software defined storage.
The document discusses reimagining the datacenter through software defined infrastructure. This allows datacenters to become more dynamic, automated and efficient by treating compute, storage and networking resources as composable blocks that can be allocated on demand. This approach breaks down traditional silos and allows simpler deployment and maintenance while improving agility, automation and efficiency. The software defined approach is compared to the traditional rigid infrastructure model and examples are given of how it can improve provisioning times, utilization rates and flexibility.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.
