BROCHURE: STYLE/THEME EXPLANATION
COLOR – I USED THE COLOR OF BENILDE (GREEN, WHITE, AND BLUE) FOR THE OVERALL THEME COLOR OF
THE BROCHURE.
FONT STYLE – I USED ALEO FOR THE FONT STYLE OF THE BROCHURE SO THAT THE FONT WOULD LOOK
PLAYFUL AND WELCOMING.
SHAPE – BENILDE IS USED TO PLAYING WITH SHAPES THAT IS WHY I MADE SURE TO USE TRIANGLES,
HEXAGON, AND PENTAGONS AS AN ACCENT FOR THE BACKGROUND AND TO FILL UP THE EMPTY SPACES
TOPICS – I INCLUDED IN THE BROCHURE THE COURSE DESCRIPTION, COURSE OBJECTIVES, AND COURSE
CONTENT FOR THE READER TO HAVE AN OVERALL IDEA ABOUT THE COURSE.
– I LOOKED UP FOR SOME COLORFUL AND PLAYFUL PICTURES
ON THE INTERNET THAT WILL PERFECTLY BLEND WITH THE
STYLE/THEME OF MY BROCHURE AND THAT WILL PERFECTLY
EXPLAIN OR SHOW THE MEANING OF INSOCIO.

Discuss how the
Introduction to
Sociology (INSOCIO)
can be better taught
at CSB. What skills
should the teacher
possess? How
should the students
be taught? What
changes in the
classroom setting
would you propose?

To reach the ultimate learning objectives. Students must engage with the lesson by using/applying it, and they need an atmosphere that fosters comfort and
confidence to facilitate this engagement.
Here are some of the ideas that I think, will create the classroom setting much more interactive, positive and comfortable:
1. Give students the opportunity to get to know you.
As a teacher, you are the perceived focal point in the classroom. Your students are curious about you, your background and experiences. You capitalize on their
curiosity by letting them ask questions. A teacher must learn not to be thrown when questions broke the norm of what he/she consider polite, introductory topics.
Teaching tips:
Create question and answer sessions for your students, focusing on their reasons and motivations for learining INSOCIO. Once they realize you are equally interested in
them, doors open and the getting-to-know-you process becomes mutual. Be patient if students don’t open up immediately. Developing rapport won’t happen
overnight. Enjoy the slow developments as they unfold, don’t force them.
2. Give students the opportunity to get to know each other
By fostering a network of cooperation among the students, the students must began communicating and exchanging their knowledge regarding INSOCIO.
Teaching tips:
Integrate a pair and small group activities into classes, to help students utilize and reinforce skills. They will become more comfortable with each other, and can
practice speaking without the anxiety of the entire class’ attention focused on them.
3. Maintain a sense of confidence and honesty
Though we are all currently experiencing/exposed to the truth and lies of the society. In the students eyes, the teacher is the only authoritative voice when it comes to
the subject.
Teaching tips: Teach with confidence and honesty. Not authority. The ways we learn and the things that we are already know about INSOCIO is varied and flexible, and
it is unavoidable that one will un/consciously break the rules. Make students aware of this flexibility.
**The dynamics of each class are different. The connective tissue, however, is that each student feels you are invested in
his/her progress, and that he/she has a positively reinforced space in the classroom to learn INSOCIO.

  • 5. Discuss how the Introduction to Sociology (INSOCIO) can be better taught at CSB. What skills should the teacher possess? How should the students be taught? What changes in the classroom setting would you propose? Submitted by: Name: Faner, Carla I.D. #: 11257806 4. To reach the ultimate learning objectives. Students must engage with the lesson by using/applying it, and they need an atmosphere that fosters comfort and confidence to facilitate this engagement. Here are some of the ideas that I think, will create the classroom setting much more interactive, positive and comfortable: 1. Give students the opportunity to get to know you. As a teacher, you are the perceived focal point in the classroom. Your students are curious about you, your background and experiences. You capitalize on their curiosity by letting them ask questions. A teacher must learn not to be thrown when questions broke the norm of what he/she consider polite, introductory topics. Teaching tips: Create question and answer sessions for your students, focusing on their reasons and motivations for learining INSOCIO. Once they realize you are equally interested in them, doors open and the getting-to-know-you process becomes mutual. Be patient if students don’t open up immediately. Developing rapport won’t happen overnight. Enjoy the slow developments as they unfold, don’t force them. 2. Give students the opportunity to get to know each other By fostering a network of cooperation among the students, the students must began communicating and exchanging their knowledge regarding INSOCIO. Teaching tips: Integrate a pair and small group activities into classes, to help students utilize and reinforce skills. They will become more comfortable with each other, and can practice speaking without the anxiety of the entire class’ attention focused on them. 3. Maintain a sense of confidence and honesty Though we are all currently experiencing/exposed to the truth and lies of the society. In the students eyes, the teacher is the only authoritative voice when it comes to the subject. Teaching tips: Teach with confidence and honesty. Not authority. The ways we learn and the things that we are already know about INSOCIO is varied and flexible, and it is unavoidable that one will un/consciously break the rules. Make students aware of this flexibility. **The dynamics of each class are different. The connective tissue, however, is that each student feels you are invested in his/her progress, and that he/she has a positively reinforced space in the classroom to learn INSOCIO.
