4. Idea one
When the Sun Goes Down by Arctic Monkeys. My Music video will
interpret the meaning of the song. It will include a man mistreating
a woman and will just overall portray the message of the song on
screen. The video will be filmed with a gloomy theme as this
symbolizes the message of the song and portrays the tone that
Turner obviously wanted to convey.
The first shot will be of the girl as the first line of the song is “said
who’s that girl there” . She will look up at the camera looking
depressed. The shot will look very negative and not be very vibrant.
The man will get a close shot when the song states “and what a
scummy man”. He will not look approachable as this is how I want
him to look so that the audience understands he is not good man.
As the song, progresses the speed of the tone and editing will also
increase as I want what the audience to see to match the tone of
the song so they really understand the message and feel involved in
the video.
The Video would just be filmed in the street to give it a sense of
realism and relate to the theme of the song as the song relates to
real life events.

My second idea is to do Ride by 21 Pilots. This will include
many different shots. The chorus will include me in a car as
the lyrics state “I'm taking my time on my ride”. I think this will
add a element of humor to my video therefore engaging a
wide range of audience. Humor is good as even if the audience
don’t like the song they may enjoy the music video.
The music video would start with me walking to the beat of
the drums. The camera would be filming from behind.
The video would be quite dark and gloomy as tis is normally
the tone of the band and this is what I want to convey in my
music video. The lyrics are also quite deep meaning it cant be
all happy and vibrant.

My third choice is still take you home by Arctic monkeys. I have chose
this song as most of the lyrics are actions meaning I could film lots of
quick shots of me doing the actions that the song states. I know this
would look good as similar techniques have been used in other music
videos and it works very effectively.
The video will have quite a positive tone to match the songs upbeat riff
and positivity.

song is the length of an average song as its overall duration is 3 minutes 22 seconds. The
meaning and story of the song as the song is all about a woman being mistreated by a man.
This highly links to the pace and tempo of the song as the pace of the song is constantly
changing similar to how the mans actions and mood would vary. The style of the song
would be categorized as indie rock. This also symbolizes the meaning of the song as this is a
very crazy genre therefore matching the personality of the man. I am gong to film in in a
dark and gloomy tone of light as then it will match the message of the song. I am not going
to include any narrative as I believe the song and what is on screen will display the message
of the song enough. I am keeping to the genre convention in a way as I am following the
story of the song which many different indie bands do. However, the majority of Indie rock
bands play in their band in their video whereas I am noir doing that. I aren't doing that s I
want to portray the story more than show the band.

characters when they are mentioned in the song. This is so the audience
knows exactly who the song is referring to and so that the message is

portrayed.
