Initial Plans
Abigail Long
Mind Map
It’d have 2 characters that look similar but in different
outfits, it would be set in a school building/class room,
the plot would be about homework or something
basic and then they found out they’re stuck In the
room and one of them starts acting crazy and
eventually kills the other.
I’d rent out a camera for all the filming and
use my own friends and clothes for actors
and costume. I’d use a classroom at college
for the setting and I’d edit it all together
using audio from YouTube and premiere.
It’d have two similar female characters in a hand drawn
anime style, a colourful background, and a title that
could both be cute and not. One half could be all
distorted along with the character and then the other
half is normal. Most of the animation will just be a
pattern though.
Light bright colours (Sky blue, pink, light purple) And
Jarring colours (Red, orange, bright green) The jarring
colours will contrast with the pastel colours and will
make the audience feel a sense of unease
It’ll feature the characters on the poster and will be talking
about the TV show, and what’s going o be on it, but the
ideas will be ridiculous and it’ll start getting creepy. At the
end they’ll be a note saying it was actually written by the
producer and that none of it is true
It’ll feature the two characters at
opposite ends of the poster and will
have the tile o the show in the middle.
It won’t show much detail on the show
other then where and when it airs
Mind Map
The basic idea is that A poster for a TV show randomly shows up everywhere, with barely
any explanation, then a few weeks later the magazine is published, seemingly giving clues
about the TV show, although it turns out that it was written by the producer of the show,
and you shouldn’t trust it, and then finally a short animation is uploaded to YouTube, it
being very short and not very explanatory.
Pastel colours (mainly
purple) like pink, light blue,
soft green, soft yellow,
peach and light orange
contrasting with Jarring
colours (Mainly orange and
green) Like Dark blue, bright
blue, red, yellow)
I will mainly use premiere and
Photoshop, getting audio I need
from YouTube and getting images I
need from google, I’ll use all sorts
of sites for research however
Mood BoardColours: I need light pastel
colours, but they also have to
contrast with jarring colours so
that it’s both cute and unsettling.
Characters: I need feminine cutesy characters, but I also
need it so they can become creepy looking given the right
situation
Mood board
Aesthetics: Similar products or styles to my own
ideas(Poster, magazine, animation)
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
• The colours are all bright and mostly soft. Some of the images have darker tones to it,
but they’re mostly made from shadows. A few colours are overly bright, especially the
glitch style colours. This denotes the contrast with the pastel colours I plan on using,
and they’ll put the audience on edge as those colours aren’t supposed to be there. I’ll
be using little bits of red as that connotes danger and blood. I’ll only be using it a little
however as I don’t want to make it overly creepy as that’ll remove the charm of it. The
characters I found all looked similar, and they all had a certain charm around them,
even when they are portrayed sinisterly. The pixel style is stylised to still be soft even
with the blocky appearance.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• I’m going to use soft colours throughout, and only change my character design slightly
from the normal version to the creepy. The glitches will be extremely bright, that way it
will be a shocking change. Everything will be soft looking so that when I start going into
lower and more sombre tones it’s more effective and it has connotations that
something is wrong. The character in the corner of my mood board is the main focus of
it because it connotes that even though the character looks innocent by the way she’s
dressed, she’s actually dangerous.

Current Idea

Type of
products you
would make
A short animation, only lasting around 30 seconds, A poster and a magazine. They’ll
al be under the same deceivingly sweet tone and will be linked through the ‘TV
show’ The animation will only feature the characters and the name for a short time,
and the other 2 won’t focus in on those much either.
What you will
need to make
them
Photoshop, internet, camera, premiere, access to game information, YouTube.
Audience 16-19, Female & Male, Needs Driven, D2.
Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this
project
Short film • A short film would take a long time and I
don’t have the right equipment, the time
needed, or enough cast to film it with.
Poster • A poster is too simplistic and you can’t
build anything off of it.
