used to delineate people from plant
If you do not have the appropriate competencies for the
plant or equipment you must not operate it.

In the event of extreme weather its important that you stay
hydrated by drinking more than your usual volumes of
water.

10. Working at heights is work where there is a risk that a
worker or other item could fall from a height through, into,
or on a place or structure.
Examples of work activities include pole work, work on
overhead wiring structures, work on signal posts and
gantries, work on embankments, bridge works, in roof
cavities, works on buildings and roofs and working over
water.
If you have concerns around working at height please
contact your Plumbing Supervisor.
Do not commence a task if there is a risk of falling from
height
11. Before commencing any type of digging,
trenching or potholing the appropriate
service searches should be conducted.
Dial Before You Dig is a method of obtaining
information of service locations so you do not
cause damage when digging/trenching
You will also need to use your ‘Assignar App”
to complete during the process from
beginning to end
12. A common cause of snakebite is when people attempt to kill or
catch the snake.
To ensure the health and safety of workers, under no
circumstances should any person attempt to kill or catch a
snake, regardless of whether the snake is considered to be
venomous or harmless.
If a snake is found in the work place and is unable to escape
from the area and/or will continue to place employees, tenants,
contractors or members of the public at risk, take the following
actions:
o Do not attempt to identify the snake – treat all snakes as venomous;
Stop work and evacuate the immediate area;
o Do not attempt to catch or kill the snake;
o Warn other persons in the area of the snake’s presence;
o Contact your site supervisor,
o If possible, try to maintain visual contact with the snake so the
snake handler can easily locate it for capture and removal.
o If someone is bitten, seek immediate medical attention. Do not wash
the bite site – this will assist in snake identification for the purpose
of administering anti-venom.

13. Infraworks have developed a Safety
Management Plan that our direct supervisor
will have with them at all times
All Plumbers must be trained in the Safe
Work Method Statement that is relevant to
the task they are completing.
Infraworks have completed a Risk
Assessment for the Plumbing business and
Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for
individual tasks
Infraworks Plumbing personnel are also
requested to complete Take 5’s for all new
tasks. The Take 5’s can be found on your App
14. A Take 5 pre-start checklist is used
to identify health and safety hazards
before starting work on a job and
should take less than 5 minutes to
complete. It helps workers and
contractors, particularly those new to
a site reduce exposure to hazards
and risks.
You can access this form through
your Assignar Fieldworker App
Before you start a new task or there
has been a significant change i.e.
there has been an incident, change in
weather conditions you should
complete a Take 5 found on your
Assignar Fieldwork App.
15. Your allocator will notify you by
SMS for upcoming tasks
You should then go into your
Fieldworker App to access your
allocations
It would be at this stage that you
will confirm your attendance at
the job allocated to you.
In your allocations you will find a
form called Work Completion
Acknowledgement Form.
There is a form for Sydney Water,
Randwick Council and General
Plumbing
These forms are mandatory for all
tasks you are allocated to and are
sent to the client for invoicing
purposes, therefore all areas of the
form must be completed and in
great detail.
Note: you must start to populate
this form at the start of your job as
photos are required
16. Communications around allocations, site addresses,
contacts, times and general enquiries should by directed to
the Allocator.
Technical information should be directed to the Plumbing
Supervisor, Matt Bampton.
Incident Reporting should, in the first instance, reported to
Matt Bampton and if unsuccessful WHSE Manager Garry
Pepper
17. Each month prior to the
commencement of work all
personnel will be required to
attend a Tool Box Talk
Items covered will be Safety,
current jobs, outstanding issues
and of course any issues that you
may have on site.
This is your opportunity to have
your say and ask questions
regarding any uncertainty
around your job
18. Its important that when you enter someone residential
property to either inspect or carry out plumbing work you
must respect the owner/tenants property.
You should always ask the owner/tenants if they would
mind you coming in with your boots on.
The work you carry out should not impact other areas of the
property
If this may occur you must inform the property
owner/tenant.
Never leave your job with out cleaning the area thoroughly
and in better condition than it was in when you arrived
When consulting with client on the repair work please limit
your conversation around
19. The purpose of the reporting system is to
establish a standardised means of
notification, investigation and reporting.
