Informal Essay Topics
Crafting an essay on "Informal Essay Topics" can be both a challenging and liberating
experience. The difficulty lies in navigating the fine line between maintaining a casual,
conversational tone and ensuring that the essay still possesses structure and coherence. Unlike
formal essays, where strict guidelines and conventions often dictate the content, informal essays
offer a certain freedom that can be both a blessing and a curse.
The challenge begins with choosing the right topics. The term "informal essay" suggests a relaxed
and personal approach, but finding topics that are both engaging and appropriate can be tricky.
Striking a balance between relevance and informality requires a keen understanding of the
audience and a creative mindset.
Another difficulty arises in maintaining a consistent and authentic voice throughout the essay.
Informal essays often encourage the use of first-person pronouns and colloquial expressions, but
it's essential to avoid straying into overly casual language that may compromise the essay's
readability and effectiveness.
Structuring the essay poses its own set of challenges. While there's room for flexibility,
maintaining a logical flow of ideas is crucial. Organizing thoughts in a way that captivates the
reader without sacrificing coherence requires a delicate touch.
Additionally, the informal nature of these essays doesn't mean abandoning the fundamentals of
good writing. Effective use of language, grammar, and punctuation is still imperative. Striking
the right balance between informality and maintaining the integrity of the writing can be a
tightrope walk.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on "Informal Essay Topics" demands a nuanced approach.
Navigating the realm of informality while still adhering to the principles of effective
communication is a task that requires careful consideration. However, with the right balance, it
can be a rewarding experience, allowing for personal expression and creativity to shine through.

7 Habits For Highly Effective People Analysis
In Steven Covey s 7 Habits for Highly Effective People, seven habits to achieving a
life one desires and creating a better world by being a more conscious and
thoughtful citizen. Dr. Magee during her Listening lectures explains, however, that
these habits however cannot be achieved without dedicating some time to bolster
one s listening skills. This will examine how the seven habits are affected by
listening. Habit one is to be proactive. This means that to focus one s time and
energy over things they can control. During the listening lectures, Dr. Magee
explains that to be proactive is important to listen to the world around one s self so
they may be able to respond in the appropriate way. Habit two is to begin with the
end in mind. This means to know and envision who you want to be and what you
want in life. To develop a personal mission statement one must listen to themselves to
know what values and desires they have and want to put out into the world.... Show

This means to focus on the important priorities to organize and manage time and
events according to personal priorities. This requires a combination of listening
skills, to listen one s self and to others to complete the assignments and tasks in order
of importance. Habit four is to seek a win win. This means to see life as cooperative
not competitive. A person who does this often times has integrity, maturity and
abundance mentality. This habit also requires combination listening. One needs to
listen to themselves so they may offer their true ideas to others and listen to others to

T.S. Eliot and Melvin Tolson use their poems, which reference political norms and
utilize a diverse set of diction, in order to purvey socio economic paradigms of the

Tolson was an African American writing trying to gain fame during a time when
white males were the only people who were revered, so Tolson was categorized as
a poet, and because of such, his greatest works haven t been realized until just
recently (Ramazani 590). Eliot on the other hand, was also categorized many
times during his career. According to the Norton Anthology of Modern and
Contemporary Poetry, its made clear that Eliot later in his life tried to pursue
deracination further , giving credence to the fact that he didn t want to be
stereotyped in any way. He was a foreigner because he was living in London,
especially during a time when a world war was occurring, he was labelled a waste
of talent by his father and he even was considered psychologically unstable after
suffering from a mental breakdown in 1921 (Ramazani 461). Knowing that each
author was critically categorized for a large chunk of their lives, we can see why
each author tried to destroy not only the categorization of people, but paradigms in
general, such as racism, violence, how people interacted with each other, and other
ideas such as what art was and what it was supposed to be. I believe this idea of
actively seeking change is so important to humanity, because what would we be

Formative And Summative Assessment
The impact of formative assessment on student s learning and achievement in South
Africa and The United States
The purpose of this paper is to examine the tensions between formative and
summative assessments with a review of how they impact student learning and
achievement for South African and American students.
Introduction
Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about
educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and
development (Palomba Banta, 1999). Assessment is frequently divided into
summative assessment and formative assessment. The distinction between formative
and summative is made mainly in terms of purpose and timing, in formative
assessment the positive achievements of a pupil may be recognised and discussed
and the appropriate next steps may be planned, whereas summative assessment is the
recording of the overall achievement of a pupil in a systematic way (DES/WO, 1988,
para. 23).
It has been argued that all assessments can be considered summative, but only some
of them are formative (Tyler, Gagne, Scriven, 1967). Some however favor formative
assessments over summative assessments. There is a critical point to consider when
thinking about summative assessment; can test scores be used to inform us about our
teaching and learning? Oftentimes it does not inform us very well. Students ability
and achievement in learning are not measurable by one single test. Even if they can
reveal some problems
Queen Gertrude And Gertrude In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Queen Gertrude is a character in the Shakespearian play Hamlet. She is a very
secretive character. After the death of her husband, King Hamlet, she marries her
former brother in law, Claudius. In the play, Shakespeare portrays her as sexually
driven woman. Even though she has caused hamlet, her son, a great deal of pain,
Gertrudeis very protective of him. Hamletis blinded by revenge and accusations that
he fails to see his mother for what she truly is. Throughout the play, Hamlet is
disappointed by his mother for remarrying just after a month of the funeral. After the
Ghostof his father reveals to him how his Uncle, Claudius, poisoned him, Hamlet
starts to blame both Claudius and Gertrude for the death of his father.
Claudius s relationship with Gertrude is very typical for that era. As her husband,
he controls and treats as a child. Men considered women to be childlike and
lascivious. Even though she might not be neither of those things, both the Ghost
of King Hamlet and Claudius as a man, see her as a child. In the play, Gertrude is
accused by the Ghost and Hamlet. The Ghost describes her as seeming virtuous
(1.5,46) which implies, she was having an affair with his brother before he was
murdered and not grieving for him long enough and accuses his brother as adulterate
beast (1.5,41). while Hamlet accuses her of being In the rank sweat of an
enseamГЁd bed, Stewed in corruption, honeying and making love (3.4,92 94). But the
Ghost doesn t seem to mind her behavior

A Minor Character Serves as Foil to Major Character in...
In the novel Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, the minor character Mattie Silver serves
as a foil towards the main character Ethan Frome. Throughout the novel, Ethan is a
man who faces many challenges in his path causing what little happiness he has to
vanish therefore illuminating the work as a whole. One may realize the faults of
Ethan s ways through theme, symbolism and irony. Isolation can be the determining
factor in changing one s mindset. In Ethan Frome, Ethan faces many disappointments
throughout the novel. In the novel, Ethan is an orphan since both parents have
passed. His wife Zeena who is also his cousin has become the dominant one in the
relationship taking over full control. While living in Starkfield, Zeena has
suddenly become sick and is forced to bring in her cousin Mattie for help around
the house. Zeena is depicted as a bitter prematurely old woman who is always sick
while Mattie is the picture of health as well as the sweetest woman alive. When
Mattie comes into the picture, she becomes the speck of happiness in which Ethan
longs for but Zeena keeps taking away. This brings up a theme of failure throughout
the novel. Secondly, Ethan Frome has had many failures within his life such as his
marriage to Zeena. One may ask how is Zeena and Ethan s marriage a failure? Ethan
only marries Zeena after she could not nurse his mother back to health and she ends
up passing away. When Ethan mother dies, Ethan is in a sullen mood or funk and in

Why Do People Hate The Aztecs
In the 1400 the aztecs were being formed by different areas of towns. When it was
formed in the 1430s they have adapted a power system where the king was at the
top and the nobles were underneath the king. In work different people had
different items to do. A priest at the time would bring order to the universe and its
gods. A belief was within the priest that they thought that you have to sacrifice
people for in order for the gods to be pleased. When the aztecs were expanding to
different territories they would take supplies, food and people to sacrifice for their
gods. This had made different groups to hate the aztecs and when cortes came he
decided to use them for his advantage to overthrow the aztecs. Near the aztecs were

Although he survived his attempted assassinations, he still faced a lot of difficulty
being the president as many Egyptians were against his ruling. The Egyptian
Revolution of 2011 began in January consisting of many protests against Mubarak s

following September, many protesters were still unhappy. As the demonstrations
continued, they became more violent between anti Mubarak and pro Mubarak

Literature And Literature Essay
Literature is a class that every student should take because it would better them as
students and as humans in society. It helps by your writing skills and grammar
gets better and you become a better writer and those skills goes a long in life. Many
of those skills would come helpful when trying to communicating with people in the
workforce. When applying for a job your writing skills would come out helpful. As
well as when needed to send an email you wantto sound professional in what you re
going to say you the person. However that not the only things that would come out
from taking the literature class as well as taking about subject that no one else what
to. Therefore you get a sense of understanding on subjects that no one else what to
talking about, and what everyone else thinks about the subject as well. Literature is
a subject that can be taken back many years ago that can still be related to today s
issues. Literature is like history where we can learn from it and make the situation
better. Many college students may argue that their field of study may not needit,
however literature is a class where you can have discussions with different people
from different backgrounds, and get their view of the subject. However it is
understanding that they may not want to take it, because it will cost them money
for a class they do not need it. When taking a literature class you may be required to
read books and talk to the classroom about it, and that is why it is a benefit

s history. As of now, I know that both my Biological parents were born in Puerto
Rico. In addition, please be mindful that the man who is supposedly is my
biological father; I did not have a chance to meet his ass until I was 24 years old.
Furthermore, I never would have met this fucking man had it not been for me calling
my Titi Carmen (Aunty Carmen) in Puerto Rico. Before I go too deep into my family
s history, I think it would be best for you guys to get a little bit of my background,
my first family, the streets of New York City.
For starters, I was born and raised in the most violent poverty stricken section of
New York City, The South Bronx. I managed to survive two epidemics, (the crack,
and the aids epidemic). I was born in the early seventies. The Bronx to me looked like
a fucking warzone, a vast wasteland, where it was not uncommon to see the rats
roam free amongst the debris of the streets of New York City; along with the huge
water bugs (Cucarachas Grandes), it is what we Ricans in the hood use to call
them. These big ass roaches were disgusting; these motherfuckers had wings on
them too. So them suckers could fly and shit. I cringe as I writing this shit thinking
about them nasty ass disgusting roaches. The shit I had to deal with growing up in

Marginal Utility Vs. Utility Theory
Fifty years after Jeremy Bentham s initial defention of utility, the German economist
Hermann Heinrich Gossen introduced the term marginal utility and the law of
diminishing marginal utility. The term marginal utility is defined as the pleasure or
pain from an additional unit or dose of a good. The introduction of marginal utilityto
economic thought and vocabulary was revolutionary, reducing the need to measure
total pleasure or pain because Even if marginal utilities were measured on a cardinal
scale, they would tell us nothing about how much total utility there was (even if it
was maximized) because they are still only measured up to an additive constant. An
additional benefit of marginal utilitywas the introduction of the principle of marginal
utility theory, which Gossen explained as, Man maximizes his total life pleasure if he
distributes his entire money income ... among the various enjoyments ... so that the
last atom of money spent on each single pleasure yields the same amount of pleasure.
Marginal utility was considered easier to measure than utility as a whole, although
still very difficult to define. At the same time, Gossen was also introducing the law of
diminishing marginal utility, which was one of the most important steps in
developing the economic theory around utility. At the time that Gossen introduced the
law of diminishing marginal returns, there an equivalent law, called Turgot s law,
had already been developed for the producer s side of

Achilles (Homer, I. 294 296)
Epics of the Divinely Ordained
The epic of The Iliad tells the tale of a war being fought between the Achaian s and
Trojans over the claim of the most beautiful woman in the world Helen. During the
War, each character begins to bare the responsibility of their own actions once they
begin to create conflicts within different warrior dyads. For example, prior to the
conflict once the Trojans and Achaian s agreed to battle over the sake of Helen and
all her possessions...[which of whom] who wins and is proved stronger, [let s] him
take the possessions fairly and the woman, and lead her homeward while the rest
[of them cuts their] oaths of faith and friendship the battle begins (Homer, III. 91
94). In this scene, the characters Menalaos and Paris being to prepare to go to war
against one another for the reward of Helen, and eventually does, which involves
several characters from each side dying in the war. This shows that the role of
human will is placed within the ideals of fighting for ones personal image, despite
how brutal the ruins are after the war has been fought. However, within the epic of
Sundiata, a griot tells the story of the lion child, the buffalo child [who was] born, and

limitations that Personal Computers have is the sheer price of the parts, PC s are
expensive, and with the ability to constantly upgrade your system you can spend up

not very portable due to the size of the overall system such as, the tower, the

On November 16, 1907, Oklahoma received its statehood with much rejoicing from
whites and blacks alike.7 However, blacks soon realized that Oklahoma statehood
may not be ideal. Within a month, Oklahoma s first senate bill had been approved
which stated that every railway company, urban or suburban car company, street
car or interurban car or railway company . . . shall provide separate coaches or
compartments as hereinafter provided for the accommodation of the white and

and work in Oklahoma despite the segregation law.
Declared as The Black Wall Street, the Greenwood section of Tulsa was the center of
African American life in Oklahoma.9 Since the white section of Tulsa did not
possess stores catering to blacks, several entrepreneuring black males decided to
construct a district that indulged the needs of the African Americans.10 Therefore,
Greenwood was established on a street called Greenwood Avenue, which traveled
from the Frisco Railroad yards and divided the black and white community of
Tulsa.11 By 1921 Greenwood housed 11,000 residences with 108 black owned
businesses,11 which included 2 theaters, 2 schools, and 15 doctor
How Social Media Affects Teenagers
Teenagers and Social Media
Bing! Chloe, Andie s friend, texted her wanting to know if they can hang out later.
They then proceed to talk about their day and all of the juicy middle school gossip

Teenagers find talking in person or on the phone too intimidating and as a result, find
themselves challenged when trying to form new relationships. Teenagers tend to do
most of their communicating online. By communicating online, they escape having
to face each other and have real conversations; thus, causing teenagers to have subpar
communication skills. In How Social Media Affects Teenagers the author states, For

In How Social Media Affects Teenagers the author states, It s easier to keep your
guard up when you re texting, so less is at stake. You aren t hearing or seeing the
effect that your words are having on the other person. because the conversation isn
t happening in real time, each party can take more time to consider a response. No
wonder kids say calling someone on the phone is too intense it requires more
direct communication, and if you aren t used to that it may well feel scary
(Ehmke). Only talking to one another on social media limits a teenagers social
skills and ability to read each other s body language in a face to face conversation.
Young adults who don t learn how to effectively communicate in person will lack
social skills in the adult world. Amanda Ehmke, the author of How Social Media
Affects Teenagers, also states, If kids aren t getting enough practice relating to
people and getting their needs met in person and in real time, many of them will
grow up to be adults who are anxious about our species primary means of
communication talking (Ehmke). Young adults need to learn face to face
conversation skills so that later in life they can talk to other people and not have
social anxiety. The author of The Impact Of Social Media Use On Social Skills
states, So when children use digital communication extensively, it can curtail the
face to face experiences necessary for them to develop and master important social
skills (Giedd, 2012) (NY Behavioral Health). Henceforth, teenagers who do not use
face to face conversation as their primary means of conversation will lack social
skills that they will need for the rest of their lives in the real adult
Why Are Great Italian Renaissance Architects More

Why are great Italian Renaissance architects more famous than their great Gothic
predecessors? Discuss how and why the role and image of the architect changed
during the Italian Renaissance.
The Renaissance is studded by the names of the artists and architects, with their
creations recorded as great historical events. Arthur Erickson
The end of the 14th century was the birth of Renaissance, which meant that Gothic
architecture began to wear off. The Renaissance period spread out across Europe.
Along with the changes in politics, beliefs, and ways of life, architecture and
architects were also changing. A group of Italian academics, some of whom were
amateur architects, influenced the birth of Renaissance architecture. Many
renaissance buildings have murals and statues because artists and architects started

The architects of this period solved the problems of heavy roof with few brilliant
innovations such as the flying buttress (a semi arch), piers, etc. The result was
amazing: cathedrals could be higher, thinner, and could have more windows, which
led to brighter interiors. In my opinion, this was a good base to start producing
something more magnificent, more interesting, and other types of architecture,
besides just cathedrals.
Architects of the Renaissance period designed a large spectrum of civil structures
like palaces, libraries, villas, fountains, hospitals, bridges, etc. They built urban
spaces which looked magnificent and also a little frightening. The facade gives us a
hint of what is happening inside: an enormous central door indicates power,
stonework shows strength, marble shows wealth, and so on. One of the most
recognizable features of Renaissance buildings is elegant interior courtyards
surrounded by two tiers of rounded arcades. One such example of a Renaissance
building is the Florence cathedral, designed by Filippo
Nurse Interview
Role of the Nurses Overview The interview I conducted was based on the
importance of the nurses in the exercise of ensuring quality in the delivery of

roles nurses play in patients lives. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and

Mr. Humphrey agrees since nurses are caregivers; this implies that they are the ones
in charge of taking care of the patients through providing them with food,
administering drugs to them, and even ensuring that the hygiene of the patients is
maintained at all time. Apart from being caregivers, they also make decisions
pertaining the patients. In doing so, the nurses will determine the measures that
should be taken to improve the patients health in case it is on the decline. This is a
vital role as it is upon this that the patients recovery is determined. Moreover; nurses
are also in charge of making communications with the patient and even their family
members (Institute of Medicine (US), 2011). This aspect greatly determines the
direction of the treatment as the opinion of the family members is not only integral
but also vital in some instances. The hospital can avoid being put into an awkward
position if the nurses communicate effectively with their
Speech On Healthy Eating Habits
If you actually write down what you are eating on a daily basis, you probably will
drop your jaw in horror. We never think to add up the little snack size candy bar
here and the 2 cookies to actually see the major impact it is having on our diets.
The best way to achieve a healthy lifestyle, as far as our diets go, is eating more

The Decision For Us Federal Antitrust Law
In seeking to understand the Supreme Court s judgement in Leegin, two questions
immediately come to mind. Firstly, why would the manufacturer seek to establish a
minimum retail price for its product? Secondly, what are the consequences for
consumer welfare, if the manufacturer succeeds in maintaining a higher retail price?.
The first part of this paper attempts to answer these questions whilst deliberating on
the majority and minority judgements of the US Supreme Court in Leegin and the
significance of the decision for US federal antitrust law. The second part of this
paper compares the US Federal and EU approaches to RPM. Several economic
theories postulate enhanced consumer welfare as a reason why a manufacturer might
endorse a policy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The economic logic of RPM is to redirect retailers competitive activities from prices to
customer service. Factors such as price, quality, design and customer service on the
part of retailers affect the demand for differentiated consumer goods. Therefore, by
assuring resellers that they will not face discount price competition from other
resellers of the same brand, minimum RPM agreements encourage retailers to invest
in services or promotional efforts to sell that brand against competing brands. So
although RPM may diminish intra brand price competition among retailers selling the
same brand, Grimes argues that it compensates for this by enhancing inter brand
competition between retailers as a result of the increase in intra brand service
competition . Affirming this theory, the Supreme Court recognized in Continental TV
that, when inter brand competition exists......, it provides a significant check on the
exploitation of inter brand market power because of the ability of consumers to
substitute a different brand of the same product . Mathewson and Winter suggest that
increased consumer demand due to enhanced retail services , elicited through a
protected retail margin, will more than offset a negative impact on demand of a
higher retail price. Thus, RPM allows manufacturer to influence the supply of retail
service by controlling its retailers margins, thereby using retail service as an
instrument of inter brand competition. This
The Musical Exploration Of Isms
Introduction
Mickey Hart once said, Life is about rhythm. We vibrate, our hearts are pumping
blood, we are a rhythm machine, that s what we are. Percussion is one of the oldest
instrument families and has grown to a degree of vast importance in all forms of
modern Western music. Namely, this is because of the incorporation of percussion
into both academia and entertainment music. At first, percussion was introduced into
Western Classical music during the Classical period, as a means of getting exotic and
unusual sounds for composers; however, the twentieth century works brought a
unique gravitation to percussion. Twentieth century composers, such as Edgar
Varese and John Cage, helped pave a way for an era of music history marked by...

The Janissary instruments find their roots in the Turkish military bands of the
Ottoman Empire. The term Janissary refers to the Turkish YeГ±i Г§eri, or new
troops . Sultan Orkhan I, of the Ottoman Empire, created The Janissaries, but his
successor, Murad I, officially established the corps circa 1360 s CE. Furthermore,
they were originally an elite corps of troops made up of the Sultan s loyal slaves. The
corps eventually picked up the use of military bands, which was a highly esteemed
military tradition. These military bands are even documented in a 1237 CE
manuscript inscribed during the Crusades, which depicts two long trumpets and a
pair of mounted kettledrums with battle flags and standards. The date of this
manuscript indicates the Arabic and Persian heritages of one of the major instruments
in the Janissary classification, the Timpani. In addition, the Ottoman Expansionism
throughout the 1600 s gave the Western world a large amount of exposure to the
Turkish military band music and instruments. Countless militarily effective
instruments were carried into Western armies, such as the Cavalry Kettledrums, or
Timpani.
Figure 1: Mounted Trumpeters and a Kettledrummer (Persian, 1237 CE) Timpani was
the first incorporated percussion instrument in Western music. Subsequently, it

Critical Incident Stress Prevention
Professional caregivers who care for the dying must professionally employ high level
technical skills while maintaining a compassionate focus on the problems facing the
dying person and their families, often immersed in institutional politics, all the time
suppressing their own anxieties. Meanwhile, providing a supportive environment that
meets the needs of the terminally ill individual with confidence, whilst cultivating
trust and feelings of dignity in the dying patient (DeSpelder Strickland, 2005, 2015).
Many caregivers express feeling inadequate in their self efficacy plus frustration
regarding the physicians and/or institution s course of treatment, at the same time a
sense of isolation as most report a reluctance to share these feelings in fear of
criticism or professional doubt. More so, the emotional toll of dealing with the

The Test Scores Should Not Be Developed By Ease And
Quiet
Helen Keller once said , the character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only
through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition
inspired, and success achieved. Standardized test scores shouldn t determine whether
or not a school should close or not.The problems could be students might not make
the effort, teachers might not have the resources to teach students, personal problems
might stop students from succeeding, or the school, in general, might need guidance
academically. Additionally, students might not be fantastic testtakers in general. The
test scores show school improvements, students can t be forced to increase scores.
However, some think consistently low scores mean it s time to close schools. For
example, school boards, state officials, and the State Department of Educationmight
take scores under consideration. There is no guarantee that score averages will
increase as a whole. There are several types of students and some just are careless,
don t take school seriously, or don t bother to attend school to receive the knowledge
that s needed. Students might be careless by not studying, not being prepared, or not
paying attention . Nevertheless, students might not take school serious because his or
her family members might no push education. This would give the student a reason
not to come to school to receive the lesson to succeed. Some schools suffer the lack
of funds, or they might need help with writing grants to
Joseph Mccarthy Failures
Joseph P. McCarthy, a Republican senator from Wisconsin, spent the majority of his
political career trying to expose a communist infiltration of the government. His
allegations against certain politicians and authority were found to be supported with
an absence of evidence, but the public did not cease to be intimidated and often
manipulated in this realm of insecurity. In 1950, the McCarran Internal Security Act
was passed by Congress against President Harry S. Truman s wishes, requiring all
organizations presented as communist affiliated, to submit to government
supervision. McCarthy translated the paranoia ever present in America s media and
livelihood, into a nationalized hunt for communist and force for political control.

Judaism And Vegetarianism In Judaism
Hope Budman Conlin Johnson HTM 421 9/19/17 Essay #1 In Judaism there are
many important aspects of food for religious reasons. The main aspect, eating
Kosher foods only. As well as, the many holidays celebrated there are certain foods
we eat and certain foods we cannot eat. Some Jews have been eating Kosher for
thousand of years because they follow kashrut (the Torah s dietary laws)
(Freeman). I am Jewish, but do not keep Kosher because I am reform; however, at
the Temple I belong to, it is kept Kosher. Keeping Kosher is a choice and followed
by many Orthodox Jews. What are Kosher foods? According to the book of
Genesis, vegetarianism was commanded by God as the ideal diet. However, in the
course of the biblical narratives, this changed to include a variety of different
animals (Staff). Animals allowed to be eaten are, any creature that both chews its
cud and has split hooves...any fish that has both fins and scales... (Staff). Along
with the specific foods, you are not allowed to mix dairy with meat. That is why at
my Temple, we have separate kitchens to keep everything Kosher. Going shopping
in your grocery store you can noticeably see some Kosher products, like Kosher
pickles and Kosher hot dogs. Like every religion there are specific foods you eat;
however, there are times we are restricted from eating some foods. Starting with the
first major holiday of the year according to the Jewish calendar is Rosh Hashanah,
the Jewish New Year. On this holiday
Should Abortion Be A Woman Right

Introduction Abortion is a topic that creates an argument in different aspects and
everyone likes to be involved in it to share values and opinions. Most people when
hear the word abortion the first thing that comes to their head is hate or not wanted.
In this introduction I will offer information related to this topic in order to inform
people. In the 1973 abortion was prohibited during the first three months in all states
by the Supreme Court. The decision of a woman to terminate their pregnancy is inside
the right of privacy which gives the right to terminate their pregnancy during the first
three months. There are some serious consequences when an abortion is performed
which are needed to have in mind. There are cases where the abortion is an option if
the fetus is coming with a delicate disease or put the mother in imminent danger that
it is either provoke by the mother or a genetic disorder. Abortion should be a woman
right due to the fact that some woman s are victims of rape. There are sexual
transmitted diseases that can put the life of the fetus in high risk or be fatal to the
fetus.
The rape and incest is very common in our society due to the fact that some of
them are being raped by a close persons or family members. Most of the woman s
in the United States are more likely to be victims of rape between the late teens and
mid twenty s. Persons with disabilities are also in risk due to

Cultural Influences On Childhood Development
The purpose of this essay is to discuss cultural and socioeconomic factors and its
influence on childhood development. The researcher will provide a background on
the topic of cultural and socioeconomic factors. In addition, the researcher will
present a review of Lawrence Kohlberg s stages of development, as well as findings
from experts in the field of education. The researcher will also identify strategies, in
which an early childhoodeducator could employ to develop community partnerships
for the benefit of children. A summary will conclude the essay.
Background
In order for early childhood educators to develop community partnerships, they must
understand the factors may influence children s development. These factors may
include early experiences as a child, modelling the behavior of others, physical and
social environment, and the child s overall quality of life (Huitt, 2004). Furthermore,
Lawrence Kohlberg used Piaget s studies as a foundation to develop three ... Show

members have an obligation to provide young people with training appropriate to
their age level (Huitt, 2004, para. 8). By leveraging community resources, children
can benefit by learning from individuals within society. The term prosocial conduct
was introduced, which can be demonstrated by working with community members
through volunteer work and developing character (Huitt, 2004). In addition, the
Virginia s Board of Education has approved some religious organizations to conduct
preschool sessions for early childhood development (McDaniels, 2016). Furthermore,
another religious organization provides reading lessons for adult learners with

John Lewis Vs Andrew Lewis
During the 1950s and 1960s, the southern half of the United States of America was
segregated in every way of life you could possibly imagine. People of color were
treated as less than human, and were denied even the most basic God given rights.
African Americans were barely considered human by some, and were physically,
emotionally, and psychologically harassed day in and day out. The March trilogy,
written by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, shows us how civil rights activists such as
John Lewis led the fight against racial segregation in the US. Strong ideals and a
strong faithwere the only things that allowed these men to stay inspired during their
peaceful protests. Many would argue that events in John Lewis life introduced him to
Christianityin the first place, however his experiences only strengthened his faith.
Events such as receiving his first Bible, taking care of chickens on his family farm,
and listening to Martin Luther King Jr. preach over the radio only empowered his
beliefs and shaped what he stands for today. Lewis religionstemmed from a very
young age, and only grew from the time he received his first Bible. At just four
years old, John got his first Bible as a Christmas gift from his uncle. Although he
could not yet read himself, he had been going to church for his entire childhood,
and the teachings of Christianity had already taken root inside of him. When he
could begin to read the Bible on his own at 5 years old, he finally began to take hold

and the contextual nature of sustainable development. Resource based view theory

The concept grew out of dissatisfaction with entrenched policies of continuous
economic growth and unequal distribution of benefits and costs ( Bramwell and
Lane, 1993; Hardy, Beeton, and Pearson,2002). Similarly, sustainable development
for tourism industry is found to be difficult to define( Swarbrooke,1999), The term
could be defined as a form of tourism sustained over a period time(Butler,1999).
Accordingly, tourism industry that meets the needs of today s tourists without taking
away from the future generations the resource necessary to fulfill their own needs.
Thus, the controversy exists over a definition for sustainable tourism development.
The most widely quoted definition of sustainable development is the one provided by
the Brundtland Report, the report says that sustainable development is development
that meets the needs of present without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs, ( World Commission on Environment and
Development,1987,p.43). According to Wall(1997) and Hunter(1995), two important
ingredients are included in this statement: human needs and environmental
limitations. For the World Commission, the major objective of development is to
satisfy human needs and aspirations for a better quality of life for all people. In other
words, sustainable development means long term economic sustainability within a
framework of long term ecological sustainability plus
Child Of Dandelions Essay
Child of Dandelions by Shenaaz Nanji, should be incorporated in the IB curriculum,
as it demonstrates how the I.B. trait caring, is significant in our daily lives. The I.B.
trait caring is illustrated throughout this story, as the protagonist Sabine is
compassionate towards others despite enduring a difficult time in her life. Child of
Dandelions is based on real accounts of Ugandan events that occurred during the
dictatorship of Idi Amin in 1972. Sabine is a Ugandan ,Indian; however, she is
discriminated as she is forced to leave the country. Regardless of her current situation,
Sabine still demonstrates caring through her care of her family, the lower class and
her care for the safety of her loved ones.
First, this novel showcases acts of caring for family and friends, during a rough time
for all the Indians bringing them closer into one community. The protagonist Sabine
displays acts of caring among her friends and family. For instance, near the end of the
novel, Sabine helps her mother s friend, Lalita, despite having a sour relationship
with her. Sabine saves Lalita from being arrested by lying to a military officer, thus

Oprah Winfrey Character Analysis
Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful, kindest, generous people in the planet.
She had a very bad childhood of her own, just like Perry but the difference was what
they chose to do in the future. Perry Smith is one of the main characters and a

through character development, narrativestructure, and relationships. Through
character development, Capote manages to create an impression of Perry Smith.
Perry keeps a variety of personal items with him in large boxes held together by
string. He has things such as letters, poems, journals, drawings, cards and he also
has a guitar. The letters come from his sister, father and parole board. His sister,
Barbara Smith encourages him to be better than their brother and sister who
committed suicide. Tex John Smith, Perry s father, wrote a letter to the prison
about Perry s childhood (Capote 125 ). It tells everything his father thinks
happened, or fails to leave details out. Perry s father states in the letter when he got
a divorce he got full custody of all of his children but eventually they all had to be

They asked him to play Dixie because it disrespected the African American culture,

moments unfold. Moreover, the two attributes that audiences pay the least attention
to could be the most influential aspects of the film. Notably, music has a substantial
emotional effect on anybody who is in hearing range of the melody. While distracted
with the main plot and how the emotional content is affecting them, they have

each other in a story. For instance, Beatrice and Don John have very different
dispositions: Beatrice laughs and teases good naturedly, but Don John remains quiet
and schemes for evil. Beatrice also contrasts with Hero, her cousin. Hero obeys her
father meekly, but Beatrice loudly declares her desire for independence. The fact that
these pairs are so unalike helps the reader to better understand and appreciate their
natures. 2. SETTING Consider how the play would be different if it were set in
modern day times. What significant things would change? How would main events
potentially be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The climactic turning point begins in Act 3, when Benedick and Beatrice decide
to love each other. Then Don John and Borachio deceive Claudio and Don Pedro,
making them believe that Hero has been immoral. Finally, the climax happens
when Claudio publically denounces Hero at the altar in Act 4. 4. THEME Choose
a theme from the play and expand on its personal, spiritual, and/or cultural
relevance. True love believes the best and holds fast to the truth. In Much Ado
About Nothing, a lot of drama was wasted on believing unproved, disparaging
rumors. Even today, people read the news, social media, and popular magazines and
quickly believe their slanders of the government, Christians, and other people.
Society doubts the truth of Christ and trusts the lies of the world. However, God
calls Christians to love others by believing the best about them. When Claudio found
out that Hero might be unfaithful, instead of damaging her reputation by publically
shaming her, he should have asked her about it. Likewise, when a believer hears a
rumor about another person, he or she should ask that person if the rumor is true or
not. That would save a great deal of heartache and
The Root Cause Of Gun Violence In Bowling For Columbine
By...
In the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore, talks about the
root cause of gun violence in the United States of America. The documentary
shows how more than 11, 127 people die every year from guns whereas 381 in
Germany, 255 in France, 165 in Canada, 68 in the United Kingdom, 65 in
Australia, and 39 in Japan. Many say that violent movies, video games, and violent
rock artists such as Marilyn Manson contribute to gun violence in America but
violent movies are seen in France, violent video games are from Japan, and
Marilyn Manson is heard in Germany. Also, guns in America are easy to obtain as
in the documentary Moore got a free gun as he signed up for an account and only
required to get a background check. However, fear is the root cause of America
gun violence as people fear getting killed it leads to others getting killed. For
example, in the documentary Moore shows that the media promotes fear in the
American news program as they only focus on negative news such as violence and
death such as in the news they state, Tonight in South Central, a drive by shooting .
It makes people fear certain places such as going to South Central as they portray it
to be a dangerous place to go to as the news shows all the negative things that
happen there such as crimes which make people fear to go there. Where in Canada
news are positive and focus on what is going around town. They are not talking
about what can kill you or get you sick which is why they don t live in fear as they
even leave their house unlocked and don t have loaded arms. Moore goes further
on to ask a news reporter if he would go to a gun shooting before he went to a child
near drowning and the reporter would rather go to a gun shooting. It is seen that
people are more afraid of each other in America than in other countries. Americans
are fearful of their own fellow Americans as Moore s illustrates a cartoon that
portrays American history, of fearing each other as it shows when the pilgrims first
arrived to America because they were scared but when they arrived they were greeted
by savages so they killed them because they got scared and then they began to fear
each other then they signed the 2nd amendment which stated that every white

Informal Essay Topics. Compose a Remarkable Informal Essay with Our Professional Help

  • 1. Informal Essay Topics Crafting an essay on "Informal Essay Topics" can be both a challenging and liberating experience. The difficulty lies in navigating the fine line between maintaining a casual, conversational tone and ensuring that the essay still possesses structure and coherence. Unlike formal essays, where strict guidelines and conventions often dictate the content, informal essays offer a certain freedom that can be both a blessing and a curse. The challenge begins with choosing the right topics. The term "informal essay" suggests a relaxed and personal approach, but finding topics that are both engaging and appropriate can be tricky. Striking a balance between relevance and informality requires a keen understanding of the audience and a creative mindset. Another difficulty arises in maintaining a consistent and authentic voice throughout the essay. Informal essays often encourage the use of first-person pronouns and colloquial expressions, but it's essential to avoid straying into overly casual language that may compromise the essay's readability and effectiveness. Structuring the essay poses its own set of challenges. While there's room for flexibility, maintaining a logical flow of ideas is crucial. Organizing thoughts in a way that captivates the reader without sacrificing coherence requires a delicate touch. Additionally, the informal nature of these essays doesn't mean abandoning the fundamentals of good writing. Effective use of language, grammar, and punctuation is still imperative. Striking the right balance between informality and maintaining the integrity of the writing can be a tightrope walk. In conclusion, tackling an essay on "Informal Essay Topics" demands a nuanced approach. Navigating the realm of informality while still adhering to the principles of effective communication is a task that requires careful consideration. However, with the right balance, it can be a rewarding experience, allowing for personal expression and creativity to shine through. For those seeking assistance with such essays or any other writing endeavors, similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, providing a valuable resource for those navigating the challenges of essay composition. • 2. 7 Habits For Highly Effective People Analysis In Steven Covey s 7 Habits for Highly Effective People, seven habits to achieving a life one desires and creating a better world by being a more conscious and thoughtful citizen. Dr. Magee during her Listening lectures explains, however, that these habits however cannot be achieved without dedicating some time to bolster one s listening skills. This will examine how the seven habits are affected by listening. Habit one is to be proactive. This means that to focus one s time and energy over things they can control. During the listening lectures, Dr. Magee explains that to be proactive is important to listen to the world around one s self so they may be able to respond in the appropriate way. Habit two is to begin with the end in mind. This means to know and envision who you want to be and what you want in life. To develop a personal mission statement one must listen to themselves to know what values and desires they have and want to put out into the world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means to focus on the important priorities to organize and manage time and events according to personal priorities. This requires a combination of listening skills, to listen one s self and to others to complete the assignments and tasks in order of importance. Habit four is to seek a win win. This means to see life as cooperative not competitive. A person who does this often times has integrity, maturity and abundance mentality. This habit also requires combination listening. One needs to listen to themselves so they may offer their true ideas to others and listen to others to collaborate and create something better than
  • 3. Comparison Of Harlem Gallery And The Waste Land Anthony Gallina Lit 4033 4/26/15 Harlem Gallery and The Waste Land: A Glance at Socio Economic Paradigms Through the Lens of a Person Living in a Foreign Land What shall I do now? What shall I do? I shall rush out as I am, and walk the street With my hair down, so. What shall we do tomorrow? What shall we ever do? (Waste Land 130 133) T.S. Eliot and Melvin Tolson use their poems, which reference political norms and utilize a diverse set of diction, in order to purvey socio economic paradigms of the time period in which each author lived, which in turn, gave the audience a look into their lives. These two authors actively tried to change their environments by satirizing these paradigms and drawing attention to them in order to bring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tolson was an African American writing trying to gain fame during a time when white males were the only people who were revered, so Tolson was categorized as a poet, and because of such, his greatest works haven t been realized until just recently (Ramazani 590). Eliot on the other hand, was also categorized many times during his career. According to the Norton Anthology of Modern and Contemporary Poetry, its made clear that Eliot later in his life tried to pursue deracination further , giving credence to the fact that he didn t want to be stereotyped in any way. He was a foreigner because he was living in London, especially during a time when a world war was occurring, he was labelled a waste of talent by his father and he even was considered psychologically unstable after suffering from a mental breakdown in 1921 (Ramazani 461). Knowing that each author was critically categorized for a large chunk of their lives, we can see why each author tried to destroy not only the categorization of people, but paradigms in general, such as racism, violence, how people interacted with each other, and other ideas such as what art was and what it was supposed to be. I believe this idea of actively seeking change is so important to humanity, because what would we be without change? Nothing would ever get
  • 4. Formative And Summative Assessment The impact of formative assessment on student s learning and achievement in South Africa and The United States The purpose of this paper is to examine the tensions between formative and summative assessments with a review of how they impact student learning and achievement for South African and American students. Introduction Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba Banta, 1999). Assessment is frequently divided into summative assessment and formative assessment. The distinction between formative and summative is made mainly in terms of purpose and timing, in formative assessment the positive achievements of a pupil may be recognised and discussed and the appropriate next steps may be planned, whereas summative assessment is the recording of the overall achievement of a pupil in a systematic way (DES/WO, 1988, para. 23). It has been argued that all assessments can be considered summative, but only some of them are formative (Tyler, Gagne, Scriven, 1967). Some however favor formative assessments over summative assessments. There is a critical point to consider when thinking about summative assessment; can test scores be used to inform us about our teaching and learning? Oftentimes it does not inform us very well. Students ability and achievement in learning are not measurable by one single test. Even if they can reveal some problems

After the death of her husband, King Hamlet, she marries her former brother in law, Claudius. In the play, Shakespeare portrays her as sexually driven woman. • 14. Marginal Utility Vs. Utility Theory Fifty years after Jeremy Bentham s initial defention of utility, the German economist Hermann Heinrich Gossen introduced the term marginal utility and the law of diminishing marginal utility. The term marginal utility is defined as the pleasure or pain from an additional unit or dose of a good. The introduction of marginal utilityto economic thought and vocabulary was revolutionary, reducing the need to measure total pleasure or pain because Even if marginal utilities were measured on a cardinal scale, they would tell us nothing about how much total utility there was (even if it was maximized) because they are still only measured up to an additive constant. An additional benefit of marginal utilitywas the introduction of the principle of marginal utility theory, which Gossen explained as, Man maximizes his total life pleasure if he distributes his entire money income ... among the various enjoyments ... so that the last atom of money spent on each single pleasure yields the same amount of pleasure. Marginal utility was considered easier to measure than utility as a whole, although still very difficult to define. At the same time, Gossen was also introducing the law of diminishing marginal utility, which was one of the most important steps in developing the economic theory around utility. At the time that Gossen introduced the law of diminishing marginal returns, there an equivalent law, called Turgot s law, had already been developed for the producer s side of

Firstly, why would the manufacturer seek to establish a minimum retail price for its product? Secondly, what are the consequences for consumer welfare, if the manufacturer succeeds in maintaining a higher retail price?. The first part of this paper attempts to answer these questions whilst deliberating on the majority and minority judgements of the US Supreme Court in Leegin and the significance of the decision for US federal antitrust law. The second part of this paper compares the US Federal and EU approaches to RPM. Several economic theories postulate enhanced consumer welfare as a reason why a manufacturer might endorse a policy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The economic logic of RPM is to redirect retailers competitive activities from prices to customer service. Factors such as price, quality, design and customer service on the part of retailers affect the demand for differentiated consumer goods. Therefore, by assuring resellers that they will not face discount price competition from other resellers of the same brand, minimum RPM agreements encourage retailers to invest in services or promotional efforts to sell that brand against competing brands. So although RPM may diminish intra brand price competition among retailers selling the same brand, Grimes argues that it compensates for this by enhancing inter brand competition between retailers as a result of the increase in intra brand service competition . Affirming this theory, the Supreme Court recognized in Continental TV that, when inter brand competition exists......, it provides a significant check on the exploitation of inter brand market power because of the ability of consumers to substitute a different brand of the same product . Mathewson and Winter suggest that increased consumer demand due to enhanced retail services , elicited through a protected retail margin, will more than offset a negative impact on demand of a higher retail price. Thus, RPM allows manufacturer to influence the supply of retail service by controlling its retailers margins, thereby using retail service as an instrument of inter brand competition. This

A single speech made in the month of February, 1950, would forever change the decade that would follow into the realm that was the revisited Red Scare. He declared to the American public that he had knowledge of about 205 communists that had infiltrated the government and had a direct control of the state department. These alleged claims would result in a national investigation that would find all 205 names cleared of suspicion. This did not stop McCarthy s political rule to end, he was given the head seat of the Committee on Government Operations in 1953 as a
  • 28. Judaism And Vegetarianism In Judaism Hope Budman Conlin Johnson HTM 421 9/19/17 Essay #1 In Judaism there are many important aspects of food for religious reasons. The main aspect, eating Kosher foods only. As well as, the many holidays celebrated there are certain foods we eat and certain foods we cannot eat. Some Jews have been eating Kosher for thousand of years because they follow kashrut (the Torah s dietary laws) (Freeman). I am Jewish, but do not keep Kosher because I am reform; however, at the Temple I belong to, it is kept Kosher. Keeping Kosher is a choice and followed by many Orthodox Jews. What are Kosher foods? According to the book of Genesis, vegetarianism was commanded by God as the ideal diet. However, in the course of the biblical narratives, this changed to include a variety of different animals (Staff). Animals allowed to be eaten are, any creature that both chews its cud and has split hooves...any fish that has both fins and scales... (Staff). Along with the specific foods, you are not allowed to mix dairy with meat. That is why at my Temple, we have separate kitchens to keep everything Kosher. Going shopping in your grocery store you can noticeably see some Kosher products, like Kosher pickles and Kosher hot dogs. Like every religion there are specific foods you eat; however, there are times we are restricted from eating some foods. Starting with the first major holiday of the year according to the Jewish calendar is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. On this holiday

  • 35. John Lewis Vs Andrew Lewis During the 1950s and 1960s, the southern half of the United States of America was segregated in every way of life you could possibly imagine. People of color were treated as less than human, and were denied even the most basic God given rights. African Americans were barely considered human by some, and were physically, emotionally, and psychologically harassed day in and day out. The March trilogy, written by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, shows us how civil rights activists such as John Lewis led the fight against racial segregation in the US. Strong ideals and a strong faithwere the only things that allowed these men to stay inspired during their peaceful protests. Many would argue that events in John Lewis life introduced him to Christianityin the first place, however his experiences only strengthened his faith. Events such as receiving his first Bible, taking care of chickens on his family farm, and listening to Martin Luther King Jr. preach over the radio only empowered his beliefs and shaped what he stands for today. Lewis religionstemmed from a very young age, and only grew from the time he received his first Bible. At just four years old, John got his first Bible as a Christmas gift from his uncle. Although he could not yet read himself, he had been going to church for his entire childhood, and the teachings of Christianity had already taken root inside of him. When he could begin to read the Bible on his own at 5 years old, he finally began to take hold of how

The concept grew out of dissatisfaction with entrenched policies of continuous economic growth and unequal distribution of benefits and costs ( Bramwell and Lane, 1993; Hardy, Beeton, and Pearson,2002). Similarly, sustainable development for tourism industry is found to be difficult to define( Swarbrooke,1999), The term could be defined as a form of tourism sustained over a period time(Butler,1999). Accordingly, tourism industry that meets the needs of today s tourists without taking away from the future generations the resource necessary to fulfill their own needs. Thus, the controversy exists over a definition for sustainable tourism development. The most widely quoted definition of sustainable development is the one provided by the Brundtland Report, the report says that sustainable development is development that meets the needs of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, ( World Commission on Environment and Development,1987,p.43). According to Wall(1997) and Hunter(1995), two important ingredients are included in this statement: human needs and environmental limitations. For the World Commission, the major objective of development is to satisfy human needs and aspirations for a better quality of life for all people. In other words, sustainable development means long term economic sustainability within a framework of long term ecological sustainability plus

  • 44. The Root Cause Of Gun Violence In Bowling For Columbine By... In the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore, talks about the root cause of gun violence in the United States of America. The documentary shows how more than 11, 127 people die every year from guns whereas 381 in Germany, 255 in France, 165 in Canada, 68 in the United Kingdom, 65 in Australia, and 39 in Japan. Many say that violent movies, video games, and violent rock artists such as Marilyn Manson contribute to gun violence in America but violent movies are seen in France, violent video games are from Japan, and Marilyn Manson is heard in Germany. Also, guns in America are easy to obtain as in the documentary Moore got a free gun as he signed up for an account and only required to get a background check. However, fear is the root cause of America gun violence as people fear getting killed it leads to others getting killed. For example, in the documentary Moore shows that the media promotes fear in the American news program as they only focus on negative news such as violence and death such as in the news they state, Tonight in South Central, a drive by shooting . It makes people fear certain places such as going to South Central as they portray it to be a dangerous place to go to as the news shows all the negative things that happen there such as crimes which make people fear to go there. Where in Canada news are positive and focus on what is going around town. They are not talking about what can kill you or get you sick which is why they don t live in fear as they even leave their house unlocked and don t have loaded arms. Moore goes further on to ask a news reporter if he would go to a gun shooting before he went to a child near drowning and the reporter would rather go to a gun shooting. It is seen that people are more afraid of each other in America than in other countries. Americans are fearful of their own fellow Americans as Moore s illustrates a cartoon that portrays American history, of fearing each other as it shows when the pilgrims first arrived to America because they were scared but when they arrived they were greeted by savages so they killed them because they got scared and then they began to fear each other then they signed the 2nd amendment which stated that every white
