This document summarizes a study comparing immigrant entrepreneurship in the United States, United Kingdom, and Malaysia. The study examined both macroeconomic factors like interest rates and output growth, as well as microeconomic factors like education, gender, experience, and business characteristics that influence survival rates. The study found a relationship between these economic factors and survival rates in all three countries. Problems areas identified for immigrant entrepreneurs included securing suitable business premises, obtaining small business financing, owner motivation, and developing effective management teams.
