PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Production department is the functional area responsible for turning inputs
into finished outputs through a series of production processes.
TABLET
Definition ; Tablets may be defined as the solid unit dosage form of
medicament or medicaments with suitable excipients and prepared either
by moulding or by compression. It comprises a mixture of active
substances and excipients, usually in powder form, pressed or compacted
from a powder into a solid dose.

TECHNIQUES OF GRANULATIONS:
Direct Compression Method
Wet Granulation Method
Dry Granulation Method
Quality Control Department
QUALITY CONTROL:
Quality Control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures intended to
ensure that a manufacture product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria
or meets the requirements of the client or customers.

1. Weighing Balance
An analytical balance is a class of balance designed to measure small
mass in the sub milligram range. It is also known as lab balance.
Fig. Weighing Balance
2. pH METER
A pH meter is a scientific instrument that measures the hydrogen –
ion activity in water based solution , indicating its acidity or
alkalinity expressed as pH.
Fig. pH meter
3. MAGNETIC STIRRERS &
SONICATORS
Magnetic stirrer: It is a lab device that employs or rotating magnetic
field to cause a stir bar & helps in mixing.
Sonicator: It is the act of applying sound energy to agitate particle in a
sample. (more than 20KHZ).
Fig. Magnetic Stirrer Fig. Sonicators
4. DISINTEGRATION APPARATUS
The test determines whether dosage form such as tablet, capsule,
suppositories disintegrates within a prescribed time when placed in a
liquid medium.
Fig. Disintegration Apparatus
5. DISSOLUTION APPARATUS
Dissolution apparatus is the apparatus which is
used to provide critical in vitro drug release
information .
Fig. Dissolution Apparatus
6. FRIABILITY
Friability testing is the method which is employed to determine the
physical strength of uncoated tablet upon exposure to mechanical shock
and attrition .
Fig. Friabiator
7.UV SPECTROPHOTOMETER
It is used in the analytical chemistry for the quantitative determination
of different analyte such as transition metal ions , highly conjugated
organic compounds& biological macro molecules.
Fig. UV Spectrohotometer
8. HOT AIR OVEN
It is an electric device which use dry heat to sterilize. Generally they
can be operated from 50 to 300℃.
