 Cosmas Group of Companies was established in 1994 as a humble drug formu
lation unit at Ludhiana, the industrial hub of Punjab (India). Today, it has t
wo companies dedicated to providing high quality pharmaceutical product
s under its hood.
 Group Companies:-
 • Cosmas Pharmacls Limited
 • Cosmas Research Lab Limited
Product of company:- Cosmas Research Lab Limited.
Mainly manufactured two types of antibiotic.
 Beta. (amoxycilline)
 Cipha. (Cefpodoxime Proxetil)
 Cosmas preparations like, Tablets, capsule, Injections, suspension,
 dry syrups.
 Analytical Balance.
 pH Meter.
 Hardness Test Apparatus.
 Dissolution test apparatus.
 IR Spectrophoto Meter.
 Friability Test Apparatus.
 Disintegration test apparatus.
 High-performance liquid chromatography.

An analytical balance is used to
measure mass to a high degree of
precision and accuracy.
 An analytical balance is able to measure
down to the ten thousand of a gram.
 The measuring pan of an analytical
balance is inside a transparent
enclosure with doors so that dust does
not collect and so any air currents in
the room do not affect the balance's
operation.
 They require a draft-free location on a
solid bench that is free of vibrations.
Some modern balances have built-in
calibration masses to maintain
accuracy.
 A pH meter is an electronic instrument
used for measuring the pH (acidity or
alkalinity) of a liquid (though special
probes are sometimes used to measure
the pH of semi-solid substances).
 The pH meter measures the difference
in electrical potential between a pH
electrode and a reference electrode,
and so the pH meter is sometimes
referred to as a "potentiometric pH
meter".
 The pH scale range is 0 to 14.
 The pH meter is used in many
applications ranging from laboratory
experimentation to quality control.
 It is an electronic instrument
used for measuring the to
measure the hardness of the
tablet .
 Dissolution test apparatus is
use to measuring the rate of
drug release from a dosage
form.
 Temperature of liquid inside
the bowl and out side
maintained at 37°C ± 2°C
 It is used to measure the maximum
absorption of infrared spectrum
compound and the determination of
IR radiation.
 KBr use as blank.(for set
background)
 Standard sample+KBr.
 Test sample+KBr.
 friability test apparatus are used
for determination of durability of
tablets at the time of transpotion
 Friability is determined carrying
out Tumbler Test or using Friability
Tester (Roche Friabilator ) and %
loss is determined.
 %l loss of weight= I-F.100/I
 Where , I=initial weight, f=final
weight,
 Normal limit less than 1% .
 It is used to measure the
disintegration time of
Dosage forms such as
tablet, capsules, and
suppositories.
 Temperature of liquid
maintained at 37°C ±
2°C
 HPLC, is a chromatographic technique that
can separate a mixture of compounds and is
used in biochemistry and analytical
chemistry to identify, quantify and purify the
individual components of the mixture.
 HPLC typically utilizes different types of
stationary phases contained in columns.
 HPLC contain a pump that moves the mobile
phase and sample components through the
column.
 HPLC contain detector that count the area.
