Inductive proximity sensors operate by sensing nearby ferrous metal without physical contact. They output a signal when metal is within their sensing range that can control further processes. Specifications include DC sensors with 5-30V supply and NPN/PNP transistor output and AC sensors with 90-240V supply outputting through a triac. Models are available with sensing ranges from 1mm to 20mm and housing diameters of 6mm to 36mm.
