The document analyzes the time and labor efficiency of using a Whiskehrs GM-506 Mini Crane to unload bricks at a construction site over several trials. It found that the crane could unload approximately 64 cycles of 60 bricks per day, totaling 3,840 bricks lifted to the 8th floor daily. With 7 hours of actual working time, it could unload around 3,360 bricks per day. Using the crane's full bucket capacity of 65 bricks, it could potentially unload 4,160 bricks daily. Accounting for 10 cycles to lift cement and sand as well, the crane could unload around 3,510 bricks per day. Currently, site cranes can only unload about 2,000 bricks daily.

1. Time and Labor Analysis for Whiskehrs GM-506 Mini Crane
Date: 26 November 2013. Site: Malpani Saffron, Beside Hotel Express Inn, Pathardi Phata, Nashik .
Machine was installed on 10th
floor. Brick’s were unloaded on 8th
floor. Weight of 1 (6 inch) fly ash brick is
approximately 5.5 kilograms. 4 labors were utilized (1 operator, 2 for loading and 1 for unloading).

From the above observation 1 cycle of 60 bricks takes 8 min i.e. approximately 8 cycles per hour. So we have 64
cycles per day (assuming 1 day of 8 hours working). Therefore we get 3840 bricks lifted per day on 8th
floor. 3360
bricks lifted per day (assuming 7 hours of actual working).
Actually we can put 65 bricks (357.5 kg’s) in the bucket which can give us 4160 bricks per day.3640 bricks lifted per
day (assuming 7 hours of actual working).
Let’s assume 10 cycles were utilized in lifting Cement and Sand so we have 54 cycles for the day and we can lift up
to 3510 bricks per day.
Note:
 It was observed by operator/site supervisor that with existing cranes they are able to unload
approximately 2000 bricks per day.
 Loading was done by 2 labors and unloading was done by single labor.
 Bricks were loaded properly into stack to avoid any accident. This consumed extra time for trial no.3.
 Extra 5-10 seconds utilized in adjusting the boom according to the site conditions (Protecting Net), is
included.
Conclusion:
1. GM-506 Whiskehrs Mini Crane can work approximately double the efficiency.
2. It can improve the efficiency further saving time if used with Swivel Bucket/False Bottom for easy
unloading.
3. If one extra bucket is used 30% further efficiency can be improved by saving load time.
Cost Benefit:
As GM-506 Whiskehrs Mini Crane has double the efficiency, 4 labors can be saved for 13 days. On monthly basis 26
day work will be done in 13 days, assuming 300 rupees per day for male labor and 200 rupees for female labor per

2. day. For male labor 300*2*13=7,800 rupees. For female labor 200*2*13=5,200 rupees. So we save 13,000 rupees
per month.
Annual Saving as 12*13,000 Rupees = 1,56,000 Rupees.
