Mini manual  for  Moodle
Open your favorite internet browser (preferably   Firefox) and type the following address: http://www.elmaestroencasa.com/interactivo
Your browser will take you to the front of the virtual platform of “El Maestro en Casa”. It looks like this here. Enter your  username  and  password (sent to you by e-mail.)
Then you will come to the page of  courses available .  This page shows you the list of the courses in which you are enrolled. Find your English course and click on the link  Active English .
Ready! Now you are joining your course.  The virtual aula of  Moodle , our online classroom, generally has an appearance like the one shown here …
Every Moodle course is set up with  three columns . In the left column you find the link  Participants  where you can see the list of your colleagues and classmates.
In the  center column , called the  Topic outline , you will find the  main material  of the course. This column is like the backbone of the course.
In the center column you find  the contents  of the course arranged by  topics . Each topic is identified with a  number  to the left.
In the center column you will find the learning objectives or  goals . Each topic has its goals.
Every topic has its  Activities.  Here you will find  various elements that your instructor has posted as part of the course.   These may include links to web pages, online discussion groups (called forums), and a variety of other  learning activities .
The virtual aula  Moodle  also has a right column. There is placed a  calender , that will allow you to keep track of the most important dates of the course.
Your  name  should appear  here . That indicates that you are a recognized user.  If you click on your  name , you will come to  your  profile .
This is your profile. Here you can change your  password .
Do you want to see  a picture of you  here?
Let’s first edit your profile. To  edit your profile , you have to click  here .
Now you are able to modify your personal dates:  name, e-mail, address and other data.
Write  here  a short description about yourself. This is  NECESSARY,  if you want to add your picture.
To choose a picture, that you have stored on your computer, click the button  Examinar .
You will see a window like  that . Choose a picture of you.
Now you have to update your profile. To do that, click  here .
Job done! Your photo will appear instead of the smiley face.

  • 3. Your browser will take you to the front of the virtual platform of “El Maestro en Casa”. It looks like this here. Enter your username and password (sent to you by e-mail.)
  • 4. Then you will come to the page of courses available . This page shows you the list of the courses in which you are enrolled. Find your English course and click on the link Active English .
  • 5. Ready! Now you are joining your course. The virtual aula of Moodle , our online classroom, generally has an appearance like the one shown here …
  • 6. Every Moodle course is set up with three columns . In the left column you find the link Participants where you can see the list of your colleagues and classmates.
  • 7. In the center column , called the Topic outline , you will find the main material of the course. This column is like the backbone of the course.
  • 8. In the center column you find the contents of the course arranged by topics . Each topic is identified with a number to the left.
  • 9. In the center column you will find the learning objectives or goals . Each topic has its goals.
  • 10. Every topic has its Activities. Here you will find various elements that your instructor has posted as part of the course. These may include links to web pages, online discussion groups (called forums), and a variety of other learning activities .
  • 11. The virtual aula Moodle also has a right column. There is placed a calender , that will allow you to keep track of the most important dates of the course.
  • 12. Your name should appear here . That indicates that you are a recognized user. If you click on your name , you will come to your profile .
  • 13. This is your profile. Here you can change your password .
  • 14. Do you want to see a picture of you here?
  • 15. Let’s first edit your profile. To edit your profile , you have to click here .
  • 16. Now you are able to modify your personal dates: name, e-mail, address and other data.
  • 17. Write here a short description about yourself. This is NECESSARY, if you want to add your picture.
  • 18. To choose a picture, that you have stored on your computer, click the button Examinar .
  • 19. You will see a window like that . Choose a picture of you.
  • 20. Now you have to update your profile. To do that, click here .
  • 21. Job done! Your photo will appear instead of the smiley face.
