This document provides a case study summary of the Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi. It is a 97,000 square meter multi-purpose building spread over 9 acres that provides office, conference, and exhibition space for environment and habitat organizations. The design aims to create a healthy and pleasant environment for visitors and employees. It is an energy efficient building that uses various passive design strategies like courtyards, water bodies, reflective shading devices, and vegetation to reduce energy usage and create a comfortable microclimate. The building layout and use of spaces like the amphitheater, lawns, and courtyards encourage social interactions.

Introduction
India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. Designed in the late 1980s,
this is a place that provides office, conference and exhibition space for organisations working on habitat- and environment-
related issues. It is the multipurpose building. It is a energy efficient building. Indian habitat centre has been conceived as an
ideal physical environment with a range of facility that would be maximize the effectiveness of the individuals and
institutional in their holistic support of the habitat.
To restoration of energy level environmental and ecological a balanced harmonious and improved the WAY OF LIFE. It is
reflected in its concept of design.

Whenever it is proposed to build a museum whether large or small-there is usually one
preliminary matter to be settled : the choice of a site . Where several possibilities are available,
The drawbacks and advantages of each must be are fully weighed.

of the town.
A museum should always be readily accessible from all parts of the town by public transport and,
if possible, be within walking distance as well, and must be within easy reach of schools, colleges,
university, and libraries .
Moreover, space will always be available -at least in theory-for future expansion, either by
enlargement of the original building or by the construction of connected annexes ;
The beauty of a museum is considerably enhanced if it is surrounded by a garden which, if the
local climate is propitious, can be used to advantage for the display of certain types of exhibit,
such as ancient or modern sculpture, archaeological or architectural fragments, etc.
Part of the surrounding grounds may also provide space for a car park .
