This document discusses how coating refractory linings can increase furnace efficiency and reduce costs. It describes how refractory lining wear, carbon deposits, and other issues lead to increased downtime and costs. Coating refractory with ESPON-RCP can increase refractory life from 12 to 21 months, reduce fuel consumption by 2 liters per ton, and provide annual savings of over 15 lakh rupees in one case study. Testimonials from industrial users support that refractory coating is an effective way to lower costs and improve productivity in furnace operations.
Flexible, durable, individual.
Nowadays, and apart from the actual tasks, hot metal transport vessels are sometimes used to carry out metallurgical processing steps that go far beyond the transport from blast furnace to steel plant, and for filling the converters.
We have taken this into account, and for all standard lining concepts we supply bauxite, calcined or carbon-bonded andalusite and – to an increasing degree – high-grade carbon-bonded bauxite with SiC additive. And of course, refractory castables for pouring areas and repair are also included in the product range.

Refractories act as a thermal barrier between a hot medium and the wall of the containing vessel, represent a chemical protective barrier against corrosion, ensure a physical protection, prevent the erosion of walls by the circulating hot medium and act as thermal insulation for heat retention.

This paper highlights the efforts taken by the author in developing an Energy Model for the pyro-processing of Clinker production in a dry-process rotary cement kiln. In this paper this Energy Model is applied to a state of the art cement plant in a Far East Asian country. However this Energy Model is also applicable to all the modern dry process cement kilns. This model is based on actual field input data and site observations.

Cost Reduction In Heat Treatment, Hot Rolling and Hot Forging by the use of P...Srikar Shenoy
This presentation outlines an innovative concept to reduce cost in heat treatment, hot rolling and hot forging. Industrial case studies and photos are included.
How to reduce hot forging costs through innovative techniques?Srikar Shenoy
This presentation gives successful industrial case studies of cost reduction in hot forging by the use of:
1. Anti-scale protective coatings to prevent rejections due to scaling, reduce or eliminate shot blasting, reduce decarburization in heat treatment, hot rolling and hot forging.
2. Environment friendly die lubricants that eliminate pollution and increase die life.
3. Zero maintenance die lubricant spraying systems that ensure maximum uptime and no unplanned downtime during hot forging.
Controlling decarburization during hot rolling of rail steelSrikar Shenoy
Decarburization of steel during hot rolling makes the hot rolled products prone to low fatigue life. This is especially true in the case of hot rolled rail steel and automobile leaf springs. The presentation gives a practical technique to substantially reduce decarburisation and ensure uniform hardness of hot rolled steel. Prevention of welding / sticking of billets at high temperature, reduced scale pits on hot rolled material, reduced scaling and decarburisation due to billet over-heating in furnace and slightly increased yield are some of the other benefits enabled by use of this technique.

Experience of material in fertilizers industriesPrem Baboo
Materials plays very important role in any industry. Selection of material is vital at design stage itself ,Wrong selection of material may lead to catastrophic failures and outage of plants & even loss of Human lives, Right selection of material leads to long life of plant. In the latest plants specialty 2 RE-69 materials are used for liner. The actual reactor has been constructed using a variety of materials, e.g. Zirconium, Vessel inside a protective liner. This paper intended study Material in urea plant in different vessels and equipment design. In Primary reformer numbers of materials are modified such as micro alloy are also used in tubes.
COMPOSITION AND BEHAVIOUR OF THERMAL INSULATING CONCRETE(TIC)IJARIIE JOURNAL
In Today’s Era due to Global Worming the Atmospheric Temperature increases and the use of Air-conditions are
getting more and more. So, for Energy saving purpose I would like to do work on Thermal Insulating Concrete
which reduces the cost and optimisation of Energy.
Calcium silicate Insulating Powder (CSIP) was developed for Energy conservation. In General
Observation of buildings consume more than 30% of Energy and Major Consumption of Energy nowadays is meant
to increase comfort. The Large part of country is not able to afford Air conditioners. So, it is necessary for us to
develop and enhance building products which can help in reducing Energy consumption and giving comfort inside
and outside of Environment.
As a Student I am Excited to Analyse more about CSIP, So that in Future I can understand the value of
better Concrete with good performance by the way of Thermal Insulating Concrete (TIC).
In My Project I will do the Experimental work on TIC with the M-20 grade of concrete and for different
TIC proportions like 10%, 20%, 30% & 40% replacement. Casting of Cube specimens for different Experiments and
Mix proportions.
Waste-to-energy (WtE), also known as energy-from-waste, is the process where energy (typically heat and electricity) is generated using waste as a fuel source. This is often done through direct combustion using waste incinerators – i.e. burning the waste – or the production of combustible fuel from a gas such as methane.

• To maximize profit we must improve either
– Plant efficiency
– Plant production rate
This case study highlights the revamp of a Middle Eastern Methanol Plant ARC converter with part IMC internals, to improve efficiency and production; with no CO2 addition to the Synloop, and with CO2 addition to the Synloop.
