Business Connectivity • Lack of UltraFast Connectivity is a limiting factor • Stunts business growth and investment • Limits opportunities • Seen as a major business impediment • The SW dominated by areas where SMEs work with very poor connectivity rural and urban - There are Business cold spots in CBDs in region • Chasm between those who can afford ‘leased line’ service and those businesses who need better but cannot afford inflated costs
- 3. Some Obvious Benefits of UltraFast FTTP • Attracts higher value businesses • Higher productivity and higher profits • SMEs not defined by Traditional comms models • Home-working increases • Commuting decreases • People happier at work and at home

Commercial sense must always apply • TrueSpeed deployment model is derived using a complicated formula including cost and uptake • Phase2 introduces for harder to reach customers a factor that increases the deployment threshold • TrueSpeed to apply Phase2 Investment only where our commercial model fails the go/no go test • This is great news for those who are harder to reach • Nothing you don’t already know though!

A different approach perhaps? • TrueSpeed will work with everyone to ensure that best value is derived out of Phase2 process • TrueSpeed wants to ensure that the South West gets the widest possible coverage for the investment available • We have an opportunity to work with other providers with shared strengths • TrueSpeed’s key concern is to deliver a state of the art distribution network for the South West
