• Costume is an important area to consider when making an opening sequence
or a thriller film due to how it instantly effects the audience as the use of
costume can effect how the audience view a character.
• In the opening sequence of Dark Knight, you can identify the characters due
to their mask and overalls, this suggests that they are Armed Robbers due to
their choice of clothing.
• In our opening sequence, our characters are wearing hoodies and trainers,
which conforms to the stereotypes of an Urban teenager

3. Setting/location
• The setting and locations in a thriller movie can say a lot about the film and
an opening sequence as different locations give different connotations.
• These were the examples of the locations in The Dark Knight
• In our Opening Sequence, we used locations that suited best to our plot, as
well as, linked to our target audience.

character’s identity and personality, which is key for the audience’s
engagement with the film and characters in general.
