 My products target audience was younger
people aged 16-25. The genre of music was
hip hop/electro dance music. I merged 2
genres to suit the modern people of my niche
audience, this challenges the regular
conventions of media products because
generic products choose 1 genre to attack.
 Real media magazine productions have
simple key features that I incorporated into
my design.
 There are some elements that I developed
and some that I kept the same.
 My front cover used the generic features that
my style model showed, for example a bold
vibrant masthead. This feature was one that I
used in my media production that I kept the
same.
 I also kept the generic left third style as it is
generally easier to navigate and helped keep
my cover look simple and easier to navigate
around.
The comparison shows I
used a vibrant bold colour
to attract my target
audience and used a bar
across the top of the page
too.
I stuck to the left third but
kept it very basic and that
is maybe a downfall to my
product. The style model I
used has a body shot for
its main image, I used this
feature and kept it the
same. I challenged the
usual conventions of
magazines by advertising
in the bottom corner and
by not having a puff!

on and similarly to the front cover
it has a bold colour for the title
being a bold red for the ‘C’ on the
title. I stuck to the traditional left
third and added a qr scan picture
to add effect to my contents page.
This can be associated with
neologism and similarly to that
helps me create a more interactive
relationship with the target
audience.
 My double page spread stuck with the regular
conventions by having a large image that
slightly covered most of the page. However I
filled out the spaces with vibrant colourful
boxes with text in to attract the niche
audience as the vibrant colours represent my
niche audience of young outgoing people
aged 16-25.
 I didn’t use a style model for my double page
spread as double page spreads are very
different between different genres of
magazine. Due to the fact my magazine was a
hybrid-genre, I thought I would have to
almost create my magazine double page
spread from scratch and ‘set the trend’ to
suit my specific merging of genres.
 On a whole I kept most things the same but
because I decided to disregard the regular
conventions of real media products I was
forced to challenge the conventions like the
double page spread colours and boxes.
 Similarly I had to fade the background colour
out which goes against regular conventions.

In what ways does my media product use
