This document discusses an action research study that aimed to improve students' reading skills through teaching effective reading strategies. The study involved 14 intermediate English students who were given presentations on strategies like predicting, visualizing, making connections, inferring, questioning, and summarizing over 4 weeks. Pre- and post-tests found that students' awareness and use of reading strategies improved, enhancing their reading comprehension. The author concludes the strategies were effective and should continue being integrated into the curriculum.
