The document discusses the harmful effects of cigarette smoking and air pollution. It describes several diseases that are linked to smoking cigarettes, such as heart disease, emphysema, lung cancer, bronchitis, and asthma. It also explains the harmful substances in cigarette smoke, including nicotine, tar, carcinogens, carbon monoxide, and irritants. The document also discusses how life would be affected without clean air and provides some ways to reduce air pollution, such as using public transportation, planting trees, and recycling. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining clean air for health and the environment.
3 items to always recycle to help save the environmentArman Sadeghi
"Our environment is facing destruction every single day due to abusive human practices that are not good for our planet. We need to change our ways if we want to have sustainable resources, not only for us, but also for future generations as well. Saving our environment can be done through simple things each one of us can do. This article focuses on how we can help save the environment by recycling.
This is from an article that appeared on All Green Recycling website: http://www.allgreenrecycling.com/blog/3-items-always-recycle-help-save-environment/"
Today in this busy and competitive world we are concentrating only on the negative aspects of life like prestige, power, knowledge, etc and we are not considering our health as momentous. "One becomes aware of its value only when it is lost". Similarly "one becomes alert to his health only when he lose it".

The Invention of Capitalism - Michael Perelmanberat celik
The Invention of Capitalism is novel in four major respects. First, it
addresses the question of what determines the social division of labor, the
division of society into independent firms and industries from the per-
spective of classical political economy. It also develops the theoretical
implications of primitive accumulation. Third, this book offers a signifi-
cantly different interpretation of classical political economy, demonstrat-
ing that this school of thought supported the process of primitive ac-
cumulation. Finally, it analyzes the role of primitive accumulation in the
work of Marx. All of these threads come together in helping us to under-
stand how modern capitalism developed and the role of classical political
economy in furthering this process.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Acid rain

sources is lowered.
Deformities

17. Ways to keep the air clean
• Use unleaded fuels.
• Use public transport when available. Carpool
when necessary. Use bicycles instead of motor
vehicles. Walk to nearby destinations
whenever possible.
• Avoid open burning. Burn plastic waste in
closed incinerators.
• Plant trees in your surroundings.
CIKGU WANI
18. Ways to keep the air clean
• Buy and use products in their non-aerosol
form. Propellants used in aerosol can
contribute to pollution.
• Select products with less packaging. Packaging
consumes energy when it is made, generates
harmful volatile organic compounds when it is
printed and produces CO2 and CO when it is
burned. When thrown away it goes to
landfills, which generate greenhouse gases.
CIKGU WANI
19. Ways to keep the air clean
• Reduce, reuse and recycle items whenever
possible. Buy and use recycled products.
• Look for durability in products you buy and
use, not just lower prices.
• Ensure factories follow the environmental
laws.
• Use ozone-friendly gases for air conditioners
and aerosol sprays.
CIKGU WANI
20. Habits to maintain clean air
• Do not smoke
• Do not carry out open burning
• Save energy such as gas and electricity
• Walk or cycle instead of travelling by car
• Go to work in a car pool
• Use public transport such as buses and LRT
• Keep your home well-ventilated

carbon monoxide?
• State the gas that causes
a) Acid rain
b) The greenhouse effect
c) Thinning of the ozone layer.

22. Test yourself!!!
• State two steps that can be taken to prevent
factory smoke from polluting the air.
