Task 6.2.2 will demonstrate using RS-EBVs for habitat monitoring to support the European Environment Agency and its Topic Centre for Biological Diversity. RS-EBVs will be used in habitat modelling to better predict where valuable habitats occur currently and potentially could occur. The model will use observation data from the European Vegetation Archive of about 200 EUNIS habitats as input, along with a selection of up to 30 predictors including climate, soil, and RS-EBV data at the European scale and 1km resolution. Maxent software will be used to run the modelling, which is currently taking place on the Terradue cloud platform.
