Introduction
 Technology affects the way we
communicate, learn & think.
 It helps society and determines
how we interact with each other
on a daily basis.
 Technology plays an important
role in society today. It has
positive and negative effects on
the world and it impacts daily
lives.
 We are living in an era where
technological advances are
common.
 The internet and cell phones are
some examples.
Elaboration
 Technology is any application that
is engineered or created using
applied science/math to solve a
problem within a society.
 This can be agricultural
technologies, such as with ancient
civilizations, or computational
technologies in more recent times.
 Technology can encompass
ancient technologies such as the
calculator, compass, calendar,
battery, ships, or chariots, or
modern technology, such as
computers, robots, tablets,
printers, and fax machines.
 The technology of the future
includes advanced –
• Block-Chain Technologies
• Smart Cities
• Advanced Smart Devices
• Quantum Computers
• Quantum Encryption
• Advanced Artificial
Intelligence.
 Technology has positively
affected human life from
antiquity until now by solving
problems associated with
everyday life, and making it
easier for different tasks to be
completed.
 Technology has made it easier
to farm, more feasible to build
cities, and more convenient to
travel, among many other
things, effectively linking
together all countries on earth,
helping to create globalization,
and making it easier for
economies to grow and for
companies to do business.
Virtually every facet of human life
can be carried out in an easier,
more effective, and quicker fashion
via technological solutions,
resulting in less problems while
doing a complex task.
• Technology brings in
Innovations & Improvements in
the way Organisations work
and grow.
• It also brings in systemic
changes in which the economy
operates. This pushes the
businesses and offices to a
digital mode of operation to
save Time & Resources.
• The Society also benefits in a
big way as better Healthcare,
Community Living, Education
and Connectivity is greatly
enhanced.
Technology
changing the way
we Work &
do Business
Global Scenario
• Globally technology enables
greater knowledge of
international issues, values,
and cultures.
• Due to mass transportation
and mass media, the world
seems to be a much smaller
place. This can be attributed to
the following:
•Globalization of ideas.
•Embeddedness of values.
•Population growth and
control.
• Technology often enables
organizational and bureaucratic
group structures that otherwise
were simply not possible.
Examples of this might include:
• Governments, the military,
health and social welfare
institutions, supranational
corporations.
• The commercialization of
leisure: sports events,
products, etc.
• The instantaneous dispersal
of information (especially
news) and entertainment
around the world.
• Globally, science and technology
feed into each other.
• Science may drive technological
development, by generating
demand for new instruments to
address a scientific question, or by
illustrating technical possibilities
previously unconsidered.
• Technology may drive scientific
investigation, by creating a need for
technological improvements that
can only be produced through
research, and by raising questions
about the underlying principles that
a new technology relies on.
Personal Opinion
 Technology is the application of
scientific knowledge to the
making of tools to solve specific
problems.
 Technological advances such as
automobiles, airplanes, radio,
television, cellular phones,
computers, modems, and fax
machines have brought major
advances and changes to the
world.
 In 21st century, technology has
completely and irreversibly
changed the way people meet,
interact, learn, work, play, travel,
worship and do business.
 As technological information
increases exponentially, the entire
database of scientific knowledge
doubles every several years. This
“Technological Explosion” is due in
part to an “Information Explosion,”
as well as to advances in storage,
retrieval and communication of data.
 Improvements in technology lead to
increases in knowledge and
information and, thus, to uncovering
the means to create better
technology.
 Consequently, sociologists are
concerned with how technological
societies will be forced to adapt to the
social changes that improvements in
technology will continue to bring.
Illustration of how
Technology is
Impacting Society
Conclusion
 The world is better and more informed because of the
advancements in technology.
 The scope of influence created by this technology is immense
and has changed the way people interact and think.
 With the changing times, technology has been taking a new turn
with new trends coming up.
 The impacts of technology on the environment, health and
welfare of the society shows the strides made since the early
years.
 Technology is here to stay and enrich our lives. Mankind will
cross many barriers using science & technology making our
planet a better place to live, grow and flourish.
Thank You
