I used this full shot image on the front
cover of my music magazine and
manipulated it in order for it to look more
professional and presentable.
I started of by removing the background
of the image. I believe that having no
background looked better with this being
the main image on my magazine as there
is nothing to distract you or take anything
away from the main image. I did this by
using the quick selection tool ( )to
cut out the background
I didn’t want around the image.
I then zoomed in and used the rubber tool
( ) to carefully smoothen out the
edges around the image or
remove unwanted parts such as messy
strands of hair to make it look more
professional. I used the spot healing tool (
)to cover any blemishes or
unwanted marks on the face of my
model. This made this picture look
airbrushed and more professional.

3. I also used this full body image on
the front cover of my magazine, as I
think it is a very affective interesting
image and helps intrigue the reader
making them want to read more on
the article which the picture refers to
I removed the background of the
image using again the quick
selection tool and replaced it with a
plain red background using the
paint bucket tool. I believe this helps
the image become more eye
catching for the reader, making it
stand out and engages them more.
I then used the rubber again to
smoothen out the edges of the
models and remove any unwanted
parts within the image.
I removed some parts of the image
and it then did not look right and
needed filling out, so I used the
liquify tool to pull out and stretch
some parts of the image.
I used the spot healing tool again to
cover any unwanted blemishes on
the face of my models.

I used this high angle full shot
image on my contents page. I
removed the background from
my image and replaced it with a
lighter background again using
the paint bucket tool ( ). I
believe this helped my
image stand out more and
ensured that there was nothing
to distract the reader and take
anything away from the image.
I used the paint brush tool( )
in the same colour as the
background to carefully go
around the image smoothening
the edges and making it look
more visually appealing.
I then used the crop tool (
)to crop the bottom off
the image and the spot
healing tool to again remove
any blemishes.

5. I also used this full body image on my contents page and
manipulated it by removing the background and
replacing it with a paler one as like the band also on the
contents page.
I then used the liquify tool to drag her hair out slightly giving
it a fuller affect.
I zoomed in and like my other images ensured the edges
were smooth and unwanted parts on the image were
removed.
I then used the spot healing tool to remove any blemishes
on my model.
I then finally inserted a red boarder around my image to
ensure it was eye catching and stood out for the reader.
The boarder also ties in with my colour scheme making my
page more presentable and professional.

6. Double Page Spread
This high angle image of
my band is the image I
chose to appear on the
double page spread of
my magazine.
I started off by simply
cropping the picture
resizing it to fit on one
half of my magazine.
I then debated on whether or not I wanted to remove the
background of the image and came to the conclusion
that I would like to keep it, as I realised it looked really
affective in black and white. I therefore transferred the
whole image into black and white and then left the actual
image completely untouched.
