The Scream Will Forever Haunt Me
The scream will forever haunt me. I hear EMILYYYYY on replay all day in my head. I can still
make out the despair and sorrow in her voice. I later found out that Emily Roland, a twenty year
old student at the University of Minnesota, had fallen to her death at a place I had been just ten
minutes before the fall. It makes me think about if times had changed, and I would have been the
one to fall. This haunts me. It all started with the desire to feel the adrenaline rush of urban
explorations. Going into the unknown was not only thrilling, but it made you feel cool . All of the
teens and young adults were doing it to seek adventure. On June 6, 2015 the abandoned structure I
explored was the Bunge Midway Elevator in Minneapolis.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There were holes about two feet in diameter across the whole surface of each floor. The stairs
were rusted and bent. The building was clearly not meant for people to be exploring in. About
halfway up, another group of three entered the building. That group included Emily Roland. They
were a bit obnoxious when they came in, so I assumed that they might be drinking. The group that
was leading my friend and I just ignored them, and kept going up. We stopped at a balcony type
area that was connected to the building, but outside. It was a gorgeous view of downtown
Minneapolis. Suddenly, Emily and her two friends caught up with our group at the balcony. They
started climbing on things that were not meant to be climbed, so we left and continued our
journey upwards. We finally made it to the roof. It was about ten floors up. In order to get to the
roof you had to climb two different ladders. The first ladder led to an elevated platform, that had the
second ladder leading to the roof. When I was on the roof, I had the best view of the city I have
ever had in my life. Since the building was so high you could see the entire part of downtown
Minneapolis. Eventually, Emily s group and her made it to the roof. Everything was perfectly fine,
until Emily and her two friends decided to start smoking pot on the roof. Their recklessness made
us feel unsafe. We left shortly after. On my way down the ladders I noticed

How Khadijah Is Becoming A Successful Individual
A Drive to Succeed Khadijah is becoming a successful individual. Her past identity impelled her
to her new identity as an intellectual stable college student at Harvard. Khadijah is a brave
fighter who is willing to succeed. She is an 18 year old high school student trying to make it out
of the streets by using her academic achievements. Her mother had her at the age of fourteen and
was a drop out. Khadijah and her family are homeless; she has moved schools over twelve times.
At school she had a different identity where no one knew she was poor because she always held
her dignity. Being a homeless 18 year old she was accepted to numerous elite universities such
as Brown, Columbia, Amherst, and Williams. School was the only thing Khadijah knew
growing up in the streets and in shelters. School was her only home, away from being with the
thugs, dealers, and prostitutes. She never doubted her capabilities to strive for success.
Khadijah s academic achievements drove her away from her indigent social class to be a
prestigious individual in society. Khadijah never got it easy, she had to work her way up to
success. The article explains, She awoke at 4 a.m. and returned at 11 p.m., and kept her grade
point average at jut below a 4.0 while participating in the Academic Decathlon, the debate team
and leading the school s track and field team (Bermudez p.5). She always worked hard for her
success in school; though she was homeless and had no financial help or stability.

The Working Poor by D. Shipler Essay
The Working Poor The objective of this essay is to illuminate my overall reaction to the reading
of The Working Poor conveying what I do not like while highlighting a sociological perspective,
in addition to explaining if the reading is applicable to my own life experience. Taking notice, the
subject at hand was very sobering alluding even if we ourselves have not been partakers of living
in the obscurity of prosperity between povertyand wellbeing, certainly we have encountered
someone that has become a victim to it. With this in mind, my reaction is there are countless
victims of poverty; surely one does not have to go very far to find them as we understand them to

morality came into view never looking at the devices engaged to inhibit access to a free

The Deposition of Richard II in Richard II by William...
The Deposition of Richard II in Richard II by William Shakespeare
Richard II is the first play of Shakespeare s four part
History Tetraology. It tells the story of Richard II s deposition and Bolingbroke s rise to power.
There are numerous reasons for Richard s fall. He went off to war and left his kingdom
vaulnerable. Richard disregarded the advice of his elders. He even went so far as to steal
Bolingbroke s inheritance. As
Richard lost the support of the nobles and lords, Bolingbroke gained their support. Bolingbroke
used this support to depose king Richard II.
After the banishment of Bolingbroke, Richard quickly gets back to business and makes plans to
go to war in Ireland. There are rebels in Ireland and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bad omen immediately seems to come true. Upon Richard s seizure of Gaunt s land,
Northumberland, Ross, and Willoughby all decide to turn against him. This action also spurs
his loyal uncle York to begin a process of self questioning that will eventually lead him to
Bolingbroke s side. In scene 2 of act 2 Green enters with news that Bolingbroke has landed in
England and has an army with him. This is unfortunate news for Richard, since he is in Ireland
with his royal army and no one is present in England to challenge Bolingbroke. The bad news
doesn t stop there. As Bolingbroke marched across England, many other English lords have
joined his army. Northumberland, his son Henry Percy, Lord Ross, Lord Willoughby, and other
lords have defected. In Act 3 Lord Salisbury enters and delivers even more bad news to Richard.
The day before, Richard s army of Wales heard that Richard was dead. They dispersed and fled to
Bolingbroke s side. Richard now must deal with the fact that he has no army. Act 3 is a point of
no turning back for Bolingbroke. Bushy and Green, two of Richard s most loyal followers, are
executed. This demonstrates the escalation of events that could lead to war. Richard s followers
have either left his side or have been killed. Bolingbroke is left with no choice but to continue his
path towards the throne. In scene 4 of act 3, Queen Isabel learns the truth of what is happening. She

Chronic Myeloid Leukaemi Symptoms And Treatment
Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia
Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia is a hematopoietic proliferative disorder associated with a specific
defect in the gene (Ciesla 2007, pp. 189). The gene defect is caused due to the translocation of the
genetic material between chromosome 9 and chromosome 22 (t9: 22). The translocation prompts to
the development of a hybrid gene BCR ALB in the Philadelphia chromosome, or Ph1. Therefore,
this fusion gene mutation affects the maturation and differentiation of the haematopoietic cells
(Ciesla 2007, pp. 189). However the introduction of a BCR ALB particular tyrosine kinase inhibitor,
Imatinib has significantly enhanced the survival rate of the patient with chronic myeloid leukaemia
(Hochhaus, et al.2015). This essay will briefly describe the diagnosis, treatment and future
strategies for chronic myeloid leukaemia.
Diagnosis of chronic myeloid leukaemia in most cases is done on the basis of differential blood
count characterised by excess granulocytes (neutrophil, eosinophil and basophil) with typical left
shift of granulopoesis (Hehlmann et al.2007). Conformation of CML can be done by identifying if
there is a presence of Ph chromosome or BCR ALB transcript in the peripheral blood or the bone
marrow cells (Hehlmann et al.2007). However, if Ph chromosome is not detected conformation
can also be done by either reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or fluorescence in
situ hybridisation (FISH) (Hehlmann et al.2007). Fig 1: Above figure

Albert Of Austria, Queen Claude Of France And France
Through revisiting philosophy and the works circulating during Anne s time in the Netherlands
and France, it becomes easier to understand her subtle manipulation of both Henry s narcissism in
link with his scopophilia. Her young mind during her finishing met with strong female voices,
which she cultivated for herself. This pursuit of knowledge encouraged by the likes of Margaret

Each writer embraces this as survival, despite rejecting it as their modus operandi.
Wollstonecraft dedicates an entire chapter in the Vindication of the Rights of Woman. For
Henry, Anne s appeal, per Mulvey s theory of female image, came through her feeding of
narcissistic and scopophilic impulses. While the concept of Henry as a narcissist commonly
enters scholarship on his reign, as well as, his use of his courtiers to feed that impulse, arguably
it is more important to consider his use of women to feed it. In a reign troubled by legitimacy,
the great disparity in public opinion, the Church, the French opinion, and the Spanish opinion
created more problems than a fertile womb could solve. Though Henry pursued Anne for about
six years, their marriage barely scraped by three. Legitimacy and the proof of inheritance in a still
relatively new dynasty plague Henry s recorded behaviors and many of the actions of his
government. His personal life needed to find no reproof, so Anne s pregnancy pre nuptias offered
dangerous results for a project round onto another year. With his prize in sight, and Catherine stuck
away in another manor, on January 25th, 1533, the couple wed. Although the King s first marriage
remain intact, Henry s wording in the court proceedings assumed the union never truly existed,
therefore there existed nothing to impede his proper marriage. On May 23rd, the Archbishop
officially proclaimed Catherine s marriage invalid

Purchase Decision Essay
The purchase situation I will be discussing is related to the most important meal of the day:
breakfast. To be more specific, I will be discussing the various factors that led me to purchase an
Egg McMuffin meal for breakfast before a busy Saturday. Ever since I was a young boy, I had
always been encouraged to start my day off the right way with a healthy breakfast. This mainly
consisted of my father preparing me a bowl of delicious fresh fruit in addition to cereal and milk.
Other days I would enjoy a more classic breakfast, including eggs, bacon and toast. In addition,
there were mornings where I would crave a sweet breakfast, to which I would then eat waffles, or
pancakes with syrup. The bevy of food choices and the variety of options... Show more content on

This also relates to my emotions and needs, as an individual that I need to fulfill to not only be
healthy, but also to satisfy my personal goal of having a good meal to start the day. Through
experiencing my emotions in my actual state, as well as having motives in place in the desired
state, I m able to identify a problem at hand and begin to take action to solve the problem.
The next stage in the purchase decision process is the information search process. This stage
consists of a pre purchase search, while leveraging internal and external information to narrow
down a choice. Internally I was able to remind myself of memories and past experiences I ve had
with breakfast meals. Primarily I focus on the past few meals I ve had, and what I ve liked
about those meals. Additionally I reference my associative nodes which created a few quick
alternatives for breakfast: make it at home, McDonalds, Byte 75, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Cora s,
or even Angie s. Since it was a Saturday in which there are no classes, I was able to include a
broader depth of options that could require more travel time. This internal information helps me
narrow down alternatives for the next stage. In relation to external information, I tried to gather as
much feedback to understand what the best purchase decision would be for me at that given time. I

Slaughter Is The Violent Killing Of A Large Number Of People
Slaughter. As defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, slaughter is the violent killing of a
large number of people. Synonyms including; bloodbath, butchery, carnage, death, holocaust,
massacre. I, for one, hate this ugly word. It causes several things to come to mind when I hear it
muttered: The Holocaust, genocide, death, all of the repulsive and vial occurrences of the world
summed in one word. It s a grim topic, and most certainly one that doesn t occur in the US
anymore, right? After all, one of the world s leading super powers couldn t possibly be dealing
with a magnanimous amount of bloodshed on our lands. Am I correct? Well, what if I told you
that over 3.7 billion farm animals are killed every year in the United States for food. The
ongoing slaughter of billions of animals a year, with little thought or consideration to the
inhumane abuse that these animals experience, is a saddening truth that shouldn t be a fact
today. Many say that the process of farming today is a marvel, with the fact that we can feed an
entire nation so quickly. There is no famine, no lack of food at any time. It is a marvel we can
create such a method that is so effective to feed thousands a day and I would agree if animals that
are killed for food weren t treated like a machine on an assembly line. Several companies, like
Perdue, make claims that their animals are treated righteously, live happy, and healthy lives,
however, the movie Food Inc. sheds light on how corporate business has

The Samoan Culture The Samoan Culture is a very diverse and completely different one from the
American culture. The Samoan people do and view many things in different perspectives from the
American people. For one thing, they are located on completely opposite sides of the world. Both
the Samoan and American cultures do things in their own unique ways. The differences in culture
can be perceived through their language, religion, clothes and food. Also the music they listen to,
holidays they celebrate, traditions, and housing. Samoan people are bilingual; they can speak both
English and Samoan. However, the Samoan language most likely dominates the culture because it
is mostly spoken there. In the United States, there is no official language, although most people
speak English like some Samoan people. Nearly every language imaginable is spoken in the United

I have been interested in protecting the environment, many different avenues of art expression, and

Vast mountain ranges and rocky cliffs come to mind. Those are both some obvious factors as to
why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what
are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I
plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work
with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia
prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in
essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants?
Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the
forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and homesteader, I have found interest in researching
the benefits of medicinal herbs on the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in
Appalachia would be ideal. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive
into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why
do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing
ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth?
My father has always shown an interest in growing shiitake mushrooms. I have never spoken to
him about what sparked his interest, but living in the Cherokee National Forest, which is
neighboring the Appalachian Mountains, I could find this information

Wells Fargo shows a much higher profitability ratio than Samsung, with over 8X that of
Samsung. This is to be expected as services are typically more profitable than hardware sales
which operate on leaner margins. Wells Fargo also outperforms Samsung significantly on return on
sales with over 25X better performance. This again is attributable to better margins on services
than hardware. Wells Fargo has a much stronger return on equity than Samsung with a Dupont ratio
over 5X higher than Samsung s. Samsung has a stronger financial leverage ratio than Wells Fargo
with almost 20% lower ratio for Samsung. Samsung also has a much lower total asset turnover
than Wells Fargo. This is attributable to the quick turnover of assets in the manufacturing industry
compared to the slow turnover of assets in the financial services sector. With Samsung being the
only international company evaluated, there doesn t seem to be any significant impact of IASB

Divine Comedy – Pagans in Paradise
Divine Comedy Pagans in Paradise
In the beginning when God created humanity, it was said that He created all humans in His image
of goodness (Genesis 1:27). Dante then adds in his Divine Comedy that God has instilled a certain
predetermined capacity of goodness in each human being as He wills, which should be utilized
fully during life (Paradise 3:84). It would then be assumed, in Dantean thought, that all humans
have the choice to live fully to this capacity and assume a place in heaven upon death, to fail to
utilize this capacity and suffer in Hell for eternity, or to sin and seek repentance at some point in
their lives, allowing them to enter Purgatory. Yet, this statement seems to have certain restrictions

But upon further reading, it is evident that there are pagans in Dante s Paradise. The two examples
of virtuous pagans in Heaven are Emperor Trajan of Rome and Ripheus of Troy. Ripheus was
said to have been baptized after his death while in Purgatory, a thousand years before baptism
existed. Emperor Trajan was supposedly brought back to life by God s sanctifying grace and
was baptized in his second life (Paradise 20:106 108). Unless you believe another human being
besides Jesus Christ was resurrected, this explanation of why Trajan is found in Heaven is
invalid. In addition, a reason must exist why God would show so much concern for Ripheus of
Troy to allow him baptism in Purgatory. Therefore, from a different angle, one must analyze what
the virtuous pagans in Limbo are lacking to explain the presence of Trajan and Ripheus in Paradise.
When Dante encounters these two pagans in Paradise, he immediately questions their presence.
He asks the eagle of the pagans presence there and the bird replies, And to this realm none ever
rose who had not faith in Christ, before or after he was crucified (Paradise 19:104 106). From
this statement we are told that every soul in Heaven had faith in Christ, whether or not they had
knowledge of Him. But how can you have faith in a person whom you do not know? Since it
seems impossible for a human to have faith in someone they have never heard of, it can be assumed

How Did Copernicus Create A Paradigm Shift To A...
This paper analyzes the veracity of the fairly commonplace belief that Nicolaus Copernicus
produced a paradigm shift in the field of astronomy from the geocentric Ptolemaic model to his
own heliocentric model that resembles what contemporary astronomy deems as true. The starting
point is the analysis of the work put forth by Copernicus in contrast to his Ptolemaic predecessors
and his heliocentric successors. The framework for this analysis is the one suggested by Thomas
Kuhn in his description of a paradigm shift in the context of scientific development. The paper
concludes that Copernicus deserves a lot of credit for initiating the heliocentric paradigm shift,
similar to the widespread sentiment that his work revolutionized astronomy and produced a
paradigm shift to a heliocentric model, but not quite the same. His work retains a large number of
elements from the Ptolemaic system which prevented it from being a clear shift, but he does indeed
challenge the geocentric and geostationary (that the earth is at rest) assumptions in a move that
threatens the core of the Ptolemaic system. Nonetheless, his work did little more than argue from a
position with weak... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kuhn himself used the term rather loosely in his landmark book The Structure of Scientific
Revolutions , referring to either the laws and principles that govern scientific inquiry within a
specific field or just a collection of landmark works showcasing a common body of beliefs.
Although one could consider arguing that the Copernican revolution (but definitely not Copernicus
himself) started the shift away from deriving scientific knowledge from scripture and thus he
started a paradigm shift in the former sense, those implications are fairly removed from Copernicus
himself. As such, arguing whether he initiated a paradigm shift in the latter sense is a more

Feral Children Case Study
I recall hearing an interesting story about a young child a while back, who was raised by wolves
and behaved much like them. Feral children are the result of years of neglect and isolation. They
are children who have been raised away from society in harsh and solitary conditions. These
children are for the most part always mentally and socially underdeveloped. To understand feral
children, one should examine how they respond to isolation, how they react to integration, and if
they are able to acquire the skills they lost while being deprived of social interaction. Before we
can examine the behavior of these children, we need to determine the root cause of this
transgression. Growing up, these kids have very limited contact with other people,... Show more

In the case of children raised by animals, they at least do learn some skills that can be helpful
towards their survival. A child raised in complete isolation however, will lack drastically more
social and physical skills. These children may not show any levels of intelligence. A case of this
type of isolation was that of a child named Anna, who was born in 1932 in Pennsylvania. Anna
was raised in solitude ever since her mother was unsuccessful in giving her away. For about 6
years, Anna was in total isolation and was barely given enough food to keep her alive. She was
completely alone, and did not get to interact with anybody else during the time she was being
kept, locked away in a dark room. Considering the fact that this was happening during an
important stage in the developmental process, it had a great impact on Anna s cognitive ability.
Once she was found, she was in a very bad state both physically and mentally. She was suffering
from malnutrition as well as her muscles showed signs of atrophy. She was immobile,
expressionless and indifferent to everything, (Davis 1). Atrophy is a condition in which the muscle
and tissue rot away, meaning that Anna was very diseased and living in terrible conditions. She
also didn t react to anything around her or any type of stimuli, revealing that her cognition was
very slow, and something was wrong with her mentally. She eventually began to learn how to
speak, but still never fully became a member of society, and died in

Being Sane In Insane Places Analysis
Being Sane in Insane Places Psychiatry has come a long way since David Rosenhans experiment
in the early 1970 s, but even today it is no where near perfect. I believe that even todays
psychiatrists rush through each patient and loads them up on pills they think will work to try and
fix whateerproblem they have. You don t think so? Here take some Respirdal. Rosenhan s main
point was to test whether their skills were up to date with what control they had. Rosenhan was
critical with the amount of control that psychiatrists had. So his experiment came to mind. He and
his friends planned to test them to see if they knew that they were sane by saying they heard a
voice saying thud, than when/if they were admitted they would tell them they were all better. At
the end of the experiment they found that once you were admitted, you were in a different world
and no longer seen as a human being. They would change uniforms in front of them and not expect
any kind of reaction, also they were beat the patients as if they didn t feel... Show more content on

Explain Why The English Should Not Be The Official Language
Do you think the English language will be the official language of the United States forever? In my
opinion, I do not think English will be the official language of the United States in the future. Many
people in the United States speak Spanish, so the US government cannot make English the only
official language. The English language should not be the official language of the United Statesfor
three reasons: education, business, and health. First of all, English should not be the only official
language because a lot of people in the United States need to acquire skills and be able to
exchange knowledge and communicate effectively. Uniquely, the nation of the United States is
formed of people from different cultures and backgrounds, and hence one official language is not
enough for people to learn well. For instance, when you walk on the street and someone asks you
where the bus stop is, you need to answer him/her. If he/she speaks Spanish or Urdu and you only
speak English, you may not understand each other or you may even misunderstand each other
negatively(which may have negative consequences). Therefore, when people speak and understand
more languages, they will be more educated and better connected.... Show more content on

Fur is Dead
Taking a look into a once strong industry, shocking facts are revealed. The fur industry brings in
an average of $1.5 billion in sales each year. Furs were considered a beautiful and feminine
version of clothing by many women, until the public became aware of the horrors that accompany
the industry. Activists have been a voice for animals tortured for their fur, making the public
aware, and diminishing the old view of fur. Approximately 3.5 million fur bearing animals are
killed each year by trappers, and another 2.7 million are raised on fur farms . (1)

This is a simple yet crude device, and has been banned in 63 countries, and four U.S states.(3)
Greta Nilsson exposes the inhumane trap in Facts About Furs :
When an animal steps on the leghold trap spring, the trap s jaws slam down on the animal s limb.
Dr. Robert E. Cape explains that if the trap is properly anchored, the captured animal will struggle
to get loose, mutilating the foot and causing deep, painful lacerations. Or the animal will attempt
escape by chewing or twisting off the trapped extremity. Ten to 12 hours after being captured, the
animal is still in pain. After a prolonged time, he explains, will suffer from exhaustion, since they
expend such a great amount of energy in attempting to escape. With exhaustion, the animal suffers
from exposure, frostbite, shock, and eventually death.(4)
Not all animals suffer that long, some suffer for even longer periods, and face further torture. When
the trappers return (often days later) they, like the fur farms, use the cheapest methods possible to
kill the animals, and whatever method that won t damage the fur. The lucky few get shot, but the
cheaper more physical methods of death are most commonly used. Animals are beaten, stomped to
death, or the Trapper s Method quot; of standing on the animal s chest and yanking their hind legs
out, crushing their lungs. (5) The animals used for fur get this treatment, animals that have no value

Language, Subsistence Practices, Kinship And Descent,...
In this paper I will be discussing in depth the Maori people. I will include a short background and a
quick summary of history and then describe a few aspects of their culture including: language,
subsistence practices, kinship and descent, marriage and household, beliefs and worship, and a
unique cultural practice.
The Maori, culturally Polynesians, are the indigenous inhabitants of New Zealand. The people who
call themselves the Maori are originally from the Polynesian islands and settled in New Zealand
around the 13th century. The tribes of the Maori did not identify themselves by a collective name
until European settlers arrived and then the use of the name Maori, which means ordinary came
into use. The Maori today make up about 15% (565,329 people) of New Zealand s population
with the majority living in urban area, while there are still few who live in the ancestral tribal
areas. Many also live overseas with 70,000 in Australia and 10,000 in England.
Around 1300 AD, a great migration of people set sail for what is now New Zealand. These
people came in seven very large canoes called Waka which were built to withstand rough seas
and carry many people including all of their possessions over long journeys. The present day
Maori people can trace their origins to the various Waka. The settlers from each Waka separated
into tribes called iwi . As time went on and population grew, the people spread out through the land
and created a social structure with iwi (tribes), hapu

Romeo And Juliet Last Scene Essay
I chose the last scene of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the death scene of Romeo
after he sees Juliet die , as the material I wanted to transform using Grotowski s influence for my
solo theatre piece . I felt that this particular scene really involved the use of raw emotion. The
general tone of this particular scene is quite somber and dark, as Romeo sees his loved one dead
, and there is an overall sense of longing as Romeo relives the moments him and Juliet shared
together, as well as longing for their once strong bond and her presence. I decided to write my
own monologue from Romeo s perspective based on the scene, and to preserve the main ideas and
story of the scene to a large extent, whilst tweaking the original content... Show more content on

After doing so I decided to take a slightly different perspective on the scene, where as well as
outlining the despair of Romeo and the longing he feels for Juliet, I would outline other feelings
not explored in the actual scene such as the regret (and possible short term satisfaction) he felt in
killing Tybalt and Paris who he felt were tearing them apart. Because of this I felt an emphasis
on voice, physicality and raw emotion, which Grotowski pushed to bring out in his theory of
Poor Theatre , would suit this scene greatly. In addition, this feeling of regret, anger and hatred
he feels after killing the two would enable me to create an uneasy, dark atmosphere for the piece.
I read a monologue based on the last scene and used it as a stimulus for my devised monologue .
I also watched a theatre production on YouTube based on that very scene of Romeo and Juliet to
understand the story better while developing further ideas about how to form the piece. This was
a dark interpretation of the last scene, and it helped me form the idea of setting the play in a
graveyard where Juliet was buried while I addressed her as if she was alive and reindulged in
Romeo s memories with

Analysis Of The Article Undocumented Immigrants
Language is essential to every interaction and aspect in human s everyday lives. Imagine a world
without language, everyone will be mute and doesn t have any connection with each other. Being
able to communicate through language with each other forms bonds and that s what make human
different from any animal species. And languagegives us a unique and diverse characters to each of
us.
In the article of Undocumented Immigrants, the writer (Forest) talks about how the uses of
language is so important. The main thesis of the article is that the using of stereotypical terms to
describe anyone from autistic children to undocumented immigrants are unacceptable, that is why
we need to use more appropriate words to describe something. He claims that language is power.
The writer is also successful in making the uses of rhetoric by giving us a real life story of Jose
Antonio Vargas. Vargas was tired of all the pejorative language used to describe individuals in
immigrants communities: illegal aliens . He braved himself to draw attention to the need for just
immigration reform, and to insist the uses of language that validates individual s humanity. The
other article which is the Please, Thank You, it talks mainly about how studying language can make
one succeed but it can also affects their culture. The majority of people in the world know english
as a foreign language, the writer proves it by giving us statistics (logos). Many students in foreign

Intrusions Leading to Decays
Often, if what we are accustomed to is disturbed, we tend to develop a defence mechanism that
leads to either the destruction of our surroundings or new concepts in ways to make the situation
better. In Michael Moss s The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food, he reports on the
growing obesity epidemic in the United States as a result of food manufacturers conscious effort...
to get people hooked on foods that are convenient and inexpensive (Moss 262). Whereas, in An
Elephant Crackup?, by Charles Siebert, we assimilate the fact that elephant behavior is entirely
congruent with what we know about humans and other mammals (Siebert 357). The dynamics of a
precipitous collapse of elephant culture or crackup described by Charles Siebert, in An Elephant
Crackup?, can be used to analyze and understand America s relationship with processed food
because elephants are observed through an anthropomorphized lens. It can be acknowledged that
the encroachment, exploitation, and the economical and political instabilities that affect the
elephants, serve as an interrelationship with what keeps consumers under the firm hold of major
food industries.
The use of technology and scientific research has opened up a gateway in understanding elephants
destructive behavior and the role that processed foods play in the growing obesity epidemic.

Lab Report On The Biology Department
Introduction The Biology Department requested the identity of seven different samples. The
aqueous ionic solutions were sent to be disposed of by the company Enviro Safe, Inc. However,
the shipment containing seven, five gallon carboys, was labeled Experiment 9 and did not
include the names of solutions. The faculty in the Biology Department was unfamiliar with the
contents but was able to locate a pre laboratory notebook dated ten years prior, the notes only
revealed that eight unknown solutions were involved in the experiment. Enviro Safe would
have charged $350 per carboy to analysis the products if not identified by the laboratory class. In
order to save the department money all seven samples had to be labeled correctly and the
identity of the one missing solution revealed. To fulfill the Biology Department s request, the
experiment involved mixing the solutions together two at a time so the reactions, if any, could
help determine the names of each solution. Experimental Safety goggles were worn at all times.
Soapy, tap water was utilized to clean seven small test tubes; all were thoroughly rinsed with tap
water. A paper towel was used to completely dry all moisture from the glassware. Using the
dropper provided with the bottle, 20 drops of solution 1 were added to one of the clean test tubes.

THE CONTEXT OF TALENT MANAGEMENT
As South Africa embarks on it s journey into the second decade of democracy, few can argue that
tremendous strides have been made on the political, economic, social and legislative fronts. Much
of our legislation and policy directions are amongst the most progressive in the world. However,
many challenges remain. One of these is the shortage of professional and managerial skills and the

This manifests itself at 2 levels. Firstly, firms soon reach a state of overload. Deadlines are
missed, standards and quality of work drop and a vicious cycle emerges and feeds on itself. This
is a very common phenomenon with small and medium sized professional firms. They do not
have the capacity to manage their growth or the peaks and valleys associated with the modern
business world. Secondly, the firm is so consumed with meeting operational deadlines that it loses
it s ability to keep up to date with latest best practice, legislation or other issues demanding new
skills. In this case clients will soon recognise that mistakes are made due to lack of currency of
skills. These are some of the more visible risks to firms who do not pay attention to the attraction,
growth and retention of key talent. Beyond the visible, other manifestations of the problem arise.
Staff morale declines because leadership talent is absent and this energy drop is transferred to the
client. Internal politics and protection of territory or unwillingness to share information and surface
problems affect the functioning of the firm. All of these things affect the ability of the organisation
to offer great service and take advantage of opportunities to grow.

Paul Bogard Let There Be Dark Summary
In a world of ever growing developments, the blight of artificial lights is conquering the
darkness of the night. To some, the fading darkness presents a major catastrophe towards human
health, the ecosystem, and culture in general. One of these people is Paul Bogard. In his article,
let there be dark, Bogard cleverly utilized devices such as statistics, imagery, and research
findings across the world to illustrate that the removal of darkness from our nights only causes
severe problems. Bogard first introduced the topic with a personal anecdote that described his
experiences with darkness as a child. Imagery such as hands disappeared before my eyes and
meteors left smoky trails evoked nostalgia among the readers. Suddenly, Bogard transitions from
the romantic descriptions of the past night sky to cold hard statistics of the current generation.
Statistics indicates that only 2/10 children in the US will know a sky dark enough for the Milky
Way, brining awareness to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bogard first discusses the World Health Organization and the American Medical Association s
consensus on the health disorders caused by the lack of darkness. Diseases ranging from minor
ailments such as sleep disorders to severe chronic issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and even
cancer all root from the lack of darkness. Not only does the lack of darkness has taken a toll on
some people s health, but the reduction has caused ecological collapse in parts of the world.
Bogard clearly presents the point that many animal and plant species rely on the darkness of the
night to perform their role in the ecosystem. Ecological functions such as pollination and pest
control would simply collapse under light pollution, the bulldozer of the night. Bogard presented
such dire consequences to reestablish his point about the removal of

The Impact Of Cultural Imperialism And De-Westernization
Presentation report The topic of the presentation is Cultural imperialism and de westernization. The
term cultural imperialism can be defined as broad cultural effects of imperialism including
colonialism, but more recently, it tends to have the imperialistic impact of global capitalism.
Cultural imperialism is recognized as a kind of form of the Western hegemony in which a way of
cultural power to dominate other national cultures throughout the world that is not only through the
entertainment but also through all areas of culturethat including food, dress as well as media
(Crane, Kawashima and Kawasaki 2002, p.668). De westernization is a word that can be explained
as a way that eliminates and avoid the western perspectives and... Show more content on

There is a distinctive example of de westernization illustrated in Fuchs s article. There is no need
for cultural homogenisation (Fuchs 2015, p.229), every country can have their own tradition like
Bollywood film, the dancing is a special characteristic of Bollywood film which is different from
other countries movies.
Fuchs and Sparks both mentioned about the economic developments in BRICS countries compared
to that of the US together with other western countries. The figures all indicated that the BRICS
countries have grown rapidly in recent years, especially in China. So this phenomenon indicates
that BRICS countries are gradually occupying the world s GDP, however, the Gini coefficient in
BRICS countries remains high which means that there are high inequalities of annual income in
these nations, inequality between capitalism and working class. Although the GDP of BRICS
countries grown fast, the financial shares of information companies still dominated by the US
which has three to five times larger than the combined BRICS information sectors (Fuchs 2015,
p.231). What is more, as Sparks (Sparks 2013, p.124) mentioned in his article, the India media
system has an expansion both in broadcasting and newspapers, it has a large number of readership
and audiences which the US can not compete with. However, the US spent an abundant amount of
expenditure on advertising which is about eight times larger than that

To His Coy Mistress Rhyme Scheme
In Andrew Marvell s poem, To His Coy Mistress , the speaker argues that if he and the woman he
is addressing had an infinite amount of time together, there would be no rush to be together.
However, since they are not immortal and only human, they cannot be together forever and only
have what is offered to them: the present moment. The speaker tries to convince the woman to
seize the day and to indulge in the physical aspect of their relationship before marriage. Marvell s
argument is that instead of categorizing our lives based on and fretting about what should be done
in the present versus what should be done in the future, people should cherish every moment as it
comes. In order to convey this theme, Marvell utilizes a nonuniform scheme... Show more content

By using this irregularity and not using a rigid pattern throughout the poem, Marvell cleverly
throws the reader off to the uneven distribution of syllables in order and their attention is given to
the substance of those lines. For instance, there are pauses within the first two lines that separates,
and thereby throws off, the tetrameter. The third line (twelve syllables) contains no pauses and
continues into the fourth line (eight syllables), reason being that this rhythm contrasts the rhythm
of the couplet, where the two lines possess ten syllables

Reading Lolita In The Tehran And The Underground Girls Of...
Both Reading Lolita in the Tehran by Azar Nafisi and The Underground Girls of Kabul by Jenny
Nordberg are works of nonfiction documenting the lives of women in the turbulent political
environments in the Middle East. Being a woman, particularly an educated one, during the 80 s
and 90 s in Iran meant a drastic limitation of personal freedoms and expressions through self image
and art, a concept demonstrated through how Nafisi recalls her experience as a literature professor
at the University of Tehran and how her students perceived the books she taught. Nordberg
similarly expresses the sexual discrimination in the Middle Eastthrough her documentation of
young girls as they search for a way to achieve personal freedoms by cross dressing as the liberated
sex in a post Taliban Afghanistan. Through her interviews of Kabul s Bacha Posh population,
Nordberg establishes for the Western reader how the maltreated young girls Afghanistan constantly
dream of an elusive freedom granted to their brothers, fathers, and husbands, and how few
establish the otherwise unattainable by presuming the role of a boy for their adolescence. Nafisi s
demonstration of similar sexual oppression is related as a memoir of her students where she
utilizes their interpretations of 20th century western literature to serve as a reflection of the lives of
her student through sexual oppression and conflicting political and religious factions. Nordberg s

Review Of No Art Passes Our Conscience On The Way Film
Chapter 1 | INTRODUCTION TO TASK No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and
goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls. Ingmar Bergman1
Making motion pictures is business from over a century. Though, this field is considered as the
most expensive form of Art. To execute a perfect scene, there are hundreds of people working
behind the camera, holding and managing equipments. Equipments are for enhancing the beauty of
film. Now a day this art is not limited for film theatres or multiplexes. We live in an era of Internet
and have plenty of platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and Netflix to showcase this art. But for
small production house, it s impossible to have the same equipments as the mighty film makers has.
This project work is to help out those productions which cannot afford the advance technology
named Motion control. The technique is commonly used when duplication of an element which
cannot be physically duplicated is required; motion control is the primary method of featuring
multiple shots of the same actor in a scene that consist of camera movement. For this method, the
camera typically films exactly the same motion in exactly the same location while the actor
performs different parts. With the help of engineering we will make such a product that can be used
by small budget film makers out there. Under 7th Semester Project, we talked with emerging

Review Of System Properties And Type Of Tasks
Review of System Properties/Type of Tasks
2.3.1 Soft/Hard real time tasks The real time tasks are classified as hard and soft real time tasks.
2.3.2 Periodic/Aperiodic/Sporadic tasks It is activated tasks in real time periodic (release)
regularly fixed rates (periods). The majority of sensory processing is cyclical in nature. For
example, the radar that tracks flights produce data at a constant rate [4, 1.7, and 3]. Is activated
aperiodic tasks in real time is a regular at some unknown rate and perhaps indefinitely. . The
bounded rate is characterized by a minimum inter arrival period; that is, a minimum interval of time
between two successive activations. The time constraint is usually a deadline [4, 1, 7, and 3].
2.3.3 Preemptive/Non preemptive tasks
In some algorithms, real time scheduling, a task that can be preempted if other higher priority task
becomes ready. On the other hand, must be the completion of the task is a preemptive without
interruption once it is started [4.1, 2, 3].
2.3.4 Independent/Dependent tasks Given the real time system, a task that will begin
implementation may require access to information provided by another task of the system.
Therefore, you must begin to perform a task after the completion of the implementation of the other
task. This is the concept of subsidiarity. Tasks that rely shared memory usage or communication
data for the transfer of information generated for a single task, and required by the other. While

Susan Glaspell’s Trifles Essay
The first reading I enjoyed was Susan Glaspell s Trifles . The main character in the plat is a
sheriff, his wife, the county attorney, and Mr. and Mrs. Hale. The opening scene is all of them in
John Wright s kitchen. Mr. Hale tells the sheriff and attorney how he a visited the house on the
day before day and Mrs. Wright greeted him but her demeanor was little suspicions. She told him
that her husband was upstairs dead. She says she was asleep when someone choked her husband to
death. All the men suspect she is the murderer. While the men look for evidence in the house they
criticize Mrs. Wright s housekeeping skills and that really irritates Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peter, the
sheriff s wife. While the men continue to look around the house,... Show more content on

The Hierarchy Of Structure And Agency
There is a constant debate about the primacy of structure or agency in forming human behavior in
the social science. Carlsnaes (as cited in Hay, 1995) claimed that the problem of structure and
agency is ... the central problem of social and political theory . Radically, the agency structure
problem is an ontological problem which is related to the nature of structures, agents and their
correlations (Wight, 2003). There are four influential positions in the structure agency debate:
structuralism, intentionalism, structuration theory and critical realism (Hay, 1995). In his book,
structuralism emphasizes the dominance of structure rather than agency on behavior. It is a
structure centered approach, arguing that structures constrain and even determine agency in the
relationship between structure and agency. However, intentionalism highlights the agents in
explaining behavior. It is an agency centered approach that regards structures as the product of
intentional acts. Structuration theory presents a developed attempt to transcend the dualism in
which structure and agency are connected externally. It argues for the duality of structure . Critical
realism is based on a dialectical cognizance of structure and agency, striving to overcome the
dualism of the two. It links to strategic relational approach . This essay will argue that structure and
agency is a dialectical unity of relationship, and they entail and affect each other. In exceptional
circumstances, they can be

An artist is defined as person who is skilled at a particular task or occupation. N.W.A. (N*ggaz
With Attitude) is definitely qualified to be considered a group of artists. They are one of the
most respected rap groups to ever be in the music industry. Coming out of a tough city like
Compton, California, the group used their music to express what they felt, to vent and expected
changes to be made from their performances. Eric Wright (Eazy E), Andre Young (Dr Dre),
Oshea Jackson (Ice Cube), Lorenzo Patterson (MC Ren), Antoine Carraby (DJ Yella), and Tracy
Curry (The D.O.C) all came together in 1986 to become a part of this game changing group, with
the exception to MC Ren, who joined two years later in 1988. Typically, when people think of

The Mental and Physical Demands of Golf Essay
This research paper deals with a topic that I enjoy very much, golf. I wanted to research and see
how people feel about the game of golf. For example what are their attitudes toward the game of
golf and just basically find out their backgrounds and opinions on the game of golf. I found all
this out by using some primary research methods that we discussed in class to gain valuable
feedback for my final paper. First of all I broke down my thesis into a simple questionand that
question was is golfmore of a challenge to people mentally or physically. Golf is a relaxing hobby
but I also feel that it is the most difficult sport to master and perform at a high level every time you
golf. You have to have both the mental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of this primary research gave me the material to construct this paper, as you will now see the
results of my research in depth.
Before I get to answer my thesis statement directly I first would like to discuss the research
methods that I performed. There were three main primary research methods that I used to gather
feedback and input for my paper. These methods that I used were a survey, two interviews, and a
case study that I performed. First of all I will look at my survey that I constructed to gather
feedback from people. I performed a survey on ten people all of whom I knew as they were close
friends or relatives. I did this instead of distributing the survey to random people on campus
because it interested me more to see the answers to my questions from people that I know then
from strangers. The surveys did not have names on them so therefore I did not know who did what
survey but it was fun to take a look at the answers and guess who did this one and analyze their
answers. In my survey I put several questions that I felt would help me to answer my thesis
statement and gather a lot of information on people s feelings about golf. For example I directly
asked in the survey do you see golf as more of a mental of physical challenge to you. I also asked
some typical questions like what your favorite sport is, how many rounds of golf do you play a
year, what age did you start to golf, and do you own a set of golf clubs. I asked these at

Its operational capacity was severely limited by runway layout; Stapleton had two parallel north
south runways and two additional parallel east west runways that accommodated only commuter air
carriers. Denver s economy grew and expanded greatly in the early 1980s, consequent to booms in
the oil, real estate, and tourism industries. An aging and saturated Stapleton Airport was
increasingly seen as a liability that limited the attractiveness of the region to the many businesses
that were flocking to it. Delays had become chronic. Neither the north south nor east west parallel
runways had sufficient lateral separation to accommodate simultaneous parallel arrival streams
during poor weather conditions when instrument flight rules were in effect. This lack of runway
separation and the layout of Stapleton s taxiways tended to cause delays during high traffic periods,
even when weather conditions were good. Denver s geographic location and the growing size of its
population and commerce made it an attractive location for airline hubbing operations. At one
point, Stapleton had housed four airline hubs, more than any other airport in the United States. In
poor weather and during periods of hightraffic volume, however, its limitations disrupted connection
schedules that were important to maintaining these operations. A local storm could easily congest
air traffic across the entire United States.3 3According to James Barnes [1993], By 1994, Stapleton
was one of the top five

  • 2. The Scream Will Forever Haunt Me The scream will forever haunt me. I hear EMILYYYYY on replay all day in my head. I can still make out the despair and sorrow in her voice. I later found out that Emily Roland, a twenty year old student at the University of Minnesota, had fallen to her death at a place I had been just ten minutes before the fall. It makes me think about if times had changed, and I would have been the one to fall. This haunts me. It all started with the desire to feel the adrenaline rush of urban explorations. Going into the unknown was not only thrilling, but it made you feel cool . All of the teens and young adults were doing it to seek adventure. On June 6, 2015 the abandoned structure I explored was the Bunge Midway Elevator in Minneapolis.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were holes about two feet in diameter across the whole surface of each floor. The stairs were rusted and bent. The building was clearly not meant for people to be exploring in. About halfway up, another group of three entered the building. That group included Emily Roland. They were a bit obnoxious when they came in, so I assumed that they might be drinking. The group that was leading my friend and I just ignored them, and kept going up. We stopped at a balcony type area that was connected to the building, but outside. It was a gorgeous view of downtown Minneapolis. Suddenly, Emily and her two friends caught up with our group at the balcony. They started climbing on things that were not meant to be climbed, so we left and continued our journey upwards. We finally made it to the roof. It was about ten floors up. In order to get to the roof you had to climb two different ladders. The first ladder led to an elevated platform, that had the second ladder leading to the roof. When I was on the roof, I had the best view of the city I have ever had in my life. Since the building was so high you could see the entire part of downtown Minneapolis. Eventually, Emily s group and her made it to the roof. Everything was perfectly fine, until Emily and her two friends decided to start smoking pot on the roof. Their recklessness made us feel unsafe. We left shortly after. On my way down the ladders I noticed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Khadijah Is Becoming A Successful Individual A Drive to Succeed Khadijah is becoming a successful individual. Her past identity impelled her to her new identity as an intellectual stable college student at Harvard. Khadijah is a brave fighter who is willing to succeed. She is an 18 year old high school student trying to make it out of the streets by using her academic achievements. Her mother had her at the age of fourteen and was a drop out. Khadijah and her family are homeless; she has moved schools over twelve times. At school she had a different identity where no one knew she was poor because she always held her dignity. Being a homeless 18 year old she was accepted to numerous elite universities such as Brown, Columbia, Amherst, and Williams. School was the only thing Khadijah knew growing up in the streets and in shelters. School was her only home, away from being with the thugs, dealers, and prostitutes. She never doubted her capabilities to strive for success. Khadijah s academic achievements drove her away from her indigent social class to be a prestigious individual in society. Khadijah never got it easy, she had to work her way up to success. The article explains, She awoke at 4 a.m. and returned at 11 p.m., and kept her grade point average at jut below a 4.0 while participating in the Academic Decathlon, the debate team and leading the school s track and field team (Bermudez p.5). She always worked hard for her success in school; though she was homeless and had no financial help or stability. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shipler Essay The Working Poor The objective of this essay is to illuminate my overall reaction to the reading of The Working Poor conveying what I do not like while highlighting a sociological perspective, in addition to explaining if the reading is applicable to my own life experience. Taking notice, the subject at hand was very sobering alluding even if we ourselves have not been partakers of living in the obscurity of prosperity between povertyand wellbeing, certainly we have encountered someone that has become a victim to it. With this in mind, my reaction is there are countless victims of poverty; surely one does not have to go very far to find them as we understand them to be the working class. Interestingly morality came into view never looking at the devices engaged to inhibit access to a free membership of the American life as the culprit. • 5. The Deposition of Richard II in Richard II by William... The Deposition of Richard II in Richard II by William Shakespeare Richard II is the first play of Shakespeare s four part History Tetraology. It tells the story of Richard II s deposition and Bolingbroke s rise to power. There are numerous reasons for Richard s fall. He went off to war and left his kingdom vaulnerable. Richard disregarded the advice of his elders. He even went so far as to steal Bolingbroke s inheritance. As Richard lost the support of the nobles and lords, Bolingbroke gained their support. Bolingbroke used this support to depose king Richard II. After the banishment of Bolingbroke, Richard quickly gets back to business and makes plans to go to war in Ireland. Upon Richard s seizure of Gaunt s land, Northumberland, Ross, and Willoughby all decide to turn against him. This action also spurs his loyal uncle York to begin a process of self questioning that will eventually lead him to Bolingbroke s side. In scene 2 of act 2 Green enters with news that Bolingbroke has landed in England and has an army with him. This is unfortunate news for Richard, since he is in Ireland with his royal army and no one is present in England to challenge Bolingbroke. The bad news doesn t stop there. As Bolingbroke marched across England, many other English lords have joined his army. Northumberland, his son Henry Percy, Lord Ross, Lord Willoughby, and other lords have defected. In Act 3 Lord Salisbury enters and delivers even more bad news to Richard. The day before, Richard s army of Wales heard that Richard was dead. They dispersed and fled to Bolingbroke s side. Richard now must deal with the fact that he has no army. Act 3 is a point of no turning back for Bolingbroke. Bushy and Green, two of Richard s most loyal followers, are executed. This demonstrates the escalation of events that could lead to war. Richard s followers have either left his side or have been killed. Bolingbroke is left with no choice but to continue his path towards the throne. In scene 4 of act 3, Queen Isabel learns the truth of what is happening. She overhears gardeners talking ... • 6. Chronic Myeloid Leukaemi Symptoms And Treatment Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia is a hematopoietic proliferative disorder associated with a specific defect in the gene (Ciesla 2007, pp. 189). The gene defect is caused due to the translocation of the genetic material between chromosome 9 and chromosome 22 (t9: 22). The translocation prompts to the development of a hybrid gene BCR ALB in the Philadelphia chromosome, or Ph1. Therefore, this fusion gene mutation affects the maturation and differentiation of the haematopoietic cells (Ciesla 2007, pp. 189). However the introduction of a BCR ALB particular tyrosine kinase inhibitor, Imatinib has significantly enhanced the survival rate of the patient with chronic myeloid leukaemia (Hochhaus, et al.2015). This essay will briefly describe the diagnosis, treatment and future strategies for chronic myeloid leukaemia. Diagnosis of chronic myeloid leukaemia in most cases is done on the basis of differential blood count characterised by excess granulocytes (neutrophil, eosinophil and basophil) with typical left shift of granulopoesis (Hehlmann et al.2007). Conformation of CML can be done by identifying if there is a presence of Ph chromosome or BCR ALB transcript in the peripheral blood or the bone marrow cells (Hehlmann et al.2007). However, if Ph chromosome is not detected conformation can also be done by either reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) (Hehlmann et al.2007). Wollstonecraft dedicates an entire chapter in the Vindication of the Rights of Woman. For Henry, Anne s appeal, per Mulvey s theory of female image, came through her feeding of narcissistic and scopophilic impulses. While the concept of Henry as a narcissist commonly enters scholarship on his reign, as well as, his use of his courtiers to feed that impulse, arguably it is more important to consider his use of women to feed it. In a reign troubled by legitimacy, the great disparity in public opinion, the Church, the French opinion, and the Spanish opinion created more problems than a fertile womb could solve. Though Henry pursued Anne for about six years, their marriage barely scraped by three. Legitimacy and the proof of inheritance in a still relatively new dynasty plague Henry s recorded behaviors and many of the actions of his government. His personal life needed to find no reproof, so Anne s pregnancy pre nuptias offered dangerous results for a project round onto another year. With his prize in sight, and Catherine stuck away in another manor, on January 25th, 1533, the couple wed. • 9. Purchase Decision Essay The purchase situation I will be discussing is related to the most important meal of the day: breakfast. To be more specific, I will be discussing the various factors that led me to purchase an Egg McMuffin meal for breakfast before a busy Saturday. Ever since I was a young boy, I had always been encouraged to start my day off the right way with a healthy breakfast. This mainly consisted of my father preparing me a bowl of delicious fresh fruit in addition to cereal and milk. Other days I would enjoy a more classic breakfast, including eggs, bacon and toast. In addition, there were mornings where I would crave a sweet breakfast, to which I would then eat waffles, or pancakes with syrup. The bevy of food choices and the variety of options... Through experiencing my emotions in my actual state, as well as having motives in place in the desired state, I m able to identify a problem at hand and begin to take action to solve the problem. The next stage in the purchase decision process is the information search process. This stage consists of a pre purchase search, while leveraging internal and external information to narrow down a choice. Internally I was able to remind myself of memories and past experiences I ve had with breakfast meals. Primarily I focus on the past few meals I ve had, and what I ve liked about those meals. Additionally I reference my associative nodes which created a few quick alternatives for breakfast: make it at home, McDonalds, Byte 75, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Cora s, or even Angie s. Since it was a Saturday in which there are no classes, I was able to include a broader depth of options that could require more travel time. This internal information helps me narrow down alternatives for the next stage. In relation to external information, I tried to gather as much feedback to understand what the best purchase decision would be for me at that given time. I begin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Synonyms including; bloodbath, butchery, carnage, death, holocaust, massacre. I, for one, hate this ugly word. It causes several things to come to mind when I hear it muttered: The Holocaust, genocide, death, all of the repulsive and vial occurrences of the world summed in one word. It s a grim topic, and most certainly one that doesn t occur in the US anymore, right? After all, one of the world s leading super powers couldn t possibly be dealing with a magnanimous amount of bloodshed on our lands. Am I correct? Well, what if I told you that over 3.7 billion farm animals are killed every year in the United States for food. The ongoing slaughter of billions of animals a year, with little thought or consideration to the inhumane abuse that these animals experience, is a saddening truth that shouldn t be a fact today. Many say that the process of farming today is a marvel, with the fact that we can feed an entire nation so quickly. There is no famine, no lack of food at any time. It is a marvel we can create such a method that is so effective to feed thousands a day and I would agree if animals that are killed for food weren t treated like a machine on an assembly line. Those are both some obvious factors as to why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants? Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the forests of Appalachia. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth? Dante then adds in his Divine Comedy that God has instilled a certain predetermined capacity of goodness in each human being as He wills, which should be utilized fully during life (Paradise 3:84). It would then be assumed, in Dantean thought, that all humans have the choice to live fully to this capacity and assume a place in heaven upon death, to fail to utilize this capacity and suffer in Hell for eternity, or to sin and seek repentance at some point in their lives, allowing them to enter Purgatory. Ripheus was said to have been baptized after his death while in Purgatory, a thousand years before baptism existed. Emperor Trajan was supposedly brought back to life by God s sanctifying grace and was baptized in his second life (Paradise 20:106 108). Unless you believe another human being besides Jesus Christ was resurrected, this explanation of why Trajan is found in Heaven is invalid. In addition, a reason must exist why God would show so much concern for Ripheus of Troy to allow him baptism in Purgatory. Therefore, from a different angle, one must analyze what the virtuous pagans in Limbo are lacking to explain the presence of Trajan and Ripheus in Paradise. When Dante encounters these two pagans in Paradise, he immediately questions their presence. He asks the eagle of the pagans presence there and the bird replies, And to this realm none ever rose who had not faith in Christ, before or after he was crucified (Paradise 19:104 106). From this statement we are told that every soul in Heaven had faith in Christ, whether or not they had knowledge of Him. But how can you have faith in a person whom you do not know? Since it seems impossible for a human to have faith in someone they have never heard of, it can be assumed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. How Did Copernicus Create A Paradigm Shift To A... This paper analyzes the veracity of the fairly commonplace belief that Nicolaus Copernicus produced a paradigm shift in the field of astronomy from the geocentric Ptolemaic model to his own heliocentric model that resembles what contemporary astronomy deems as true. The starting point is the analysis of the work put forth by Copernicus in contrast to his Ptolemaic predecessors and his heliocentric successors. The framework for this analysis is the one suggested by Thomas Kuhn in his description of a paradigm shift in the context of scientific development. The paper concludes that Copernicus deserves a lot of credit for initiating the heliocentric paradigm shift, similar to the widespread sentiment that his work revolutionized astronomy and produced a paradigm shift to a heliocentric model, but not quite the same. His work retains a large number of elements from the Ptolemaic system which prevented it from being a clear shift, but he does indeed challenge the geocentric and geostationary (that the earth is at rest) assumptions in a move that threatens the core of the Ptolemaic system. Nonetheless, his work did little more than argue from a position with weak... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kuhn himself used the term rather loosely in his landmark book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions , referring to either the laws and principles that govern scientific inquiry within a specific field or just a collection of landmark works showcasing a common body of beliefs. Although one could consider arguing that the Copernican revolution (but definitely not Copernicus himself) started the shift away from deriving scientific knowledge from scripture and thus he started a paradigm shift in the former sense, those implications are fairly removed from Copernicus himself. As such, arguing whether he initiated a paradigm shift in the latter sense is a more meaningful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Feral children are the result of years of neglect and isolation. They are children who have been raised away from society in harsh and solitary conditions. These children are for the most part always mentally and socially underdeveloped. To understand feral children, one should examine how they respond to isolation, how they react to integration, and if they are able to acquire the skills they lost while being deprived of social interaction. Before we can examine the behavior of these children, we need to determine the root cause of this transgression. Growing up, these kids have very limited contact with other people,... A case of this type of isolation was that of a child named Anna, who was born in 1932 in Pennsylvania. Anna was raised in solitude ever since her mother was unsuccessful in giving her away. For about 6 years, Anna was in total isolation and was barely given enough food to keep her alive. She was completely alone, and did not get to interact with anybody else during the time she was being kept, locked away in a dark room. Considering the fact that this was happening during an important stage in the developmental process, it had a great impact on Anna s cognitive ability. Once she was found, she was in a very bad state both physically and mentally. She was suffering from malnutrition as well as her muscles showed signs of atrophy. She was immobile, expressionless and indifferent to everything, (Davis 1). Atrophy is a condition in which the muscle and tissue rot away, meaning that Anna was very diseased and living in terrible conditions. In my opinion, I do not think English will be the official language of the United States in the future. Many people in the United States speak Spanish, so the US government cannot make English the only official language. The English language should not be the official language of the United Statesfor three reasons: education, business, and health. First of all, English should not be the only official language because a lot of people in the United States need to acquire skills and be able to exchange knowledge and communicate effectively. Uniquely, the nation of the United States is formed of people from different cultures and backgrounds, and hence one official language is not enough for people to learn well. For instance, when you walk on the street and someone asks you where the bus stop is, you need to answer him/her. If he/she speaks Spanish or Urdu and you only speak English, you may not understand each other or you may even misunderstand each other negatively(which may have negative consequences). I will include a short background and a quick summary of history and then describe a few aspects of their culture including: language, subsistence practices, kinship and descent, marriage and household, beliefs and worship, and a unique cultural practice. The Maori, culturally Polynesians, are the indigenous inhabitants of New Zealand. The people who call themselves the Maori are originally from the Polynesian islands and settled in New Zealand around the 13th century. The tribes of the Maori did not identify themselves by a collective name until European settlers arrived and then the use of the name Maori, which means ordinary came into use. The Maori today make up about 15% (565,329 people) of New Zealand s population with the majority living in urban area, while there are still few who live in the ancestral tribal areas. Many also live overseas with 70,000 in Australia and 10,000 in England. Around 1300 AD, a great migration of people set sail for what is now New Zealand. These people came in seven very large canoes called Waka which were built to withstand rough seas and carry many people including all of their possessions over long journeys. The present day Maori people can trace their origins to the various Waka. The settlers from each Waka separated into tribes called iwi . As time went on and population grew, the people spread out through the land and created a social structure with iwi (tribes), hapu ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Romeo And Juliet Last Scene Essay I chose the last scene of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the death scene of Romeo after he sees Juliet die , as the material I wanted to transform using Grotowski s influence for my solo theatre piece . I felt that this particular scene really involved the use of raw emotion. The general tone of this particular scene is quite somber and dark, as Romeo sees his loved one dead , and there is an overall sense of longing as Romeo relives the moments him and Juliet shared together, as well as longing for their once strong bond and her presence. I decided to write my own monologue from Romeo s perspective based on the scene, and to preserve the main ideas and story of the scene to a large extent, whilst tweaking the original content... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After doing so I decided to take a slightly different perspective on the scene, where as well as outlining the despair of Romeo and the longing he feels for Juliet, I would outline other feelings not explored in the actual scene such as the regret (and possible short term satisfaction) he felt in killing Tybalt and Paris who he felt were tearing them apart. Because of this I felt an emphasis on voice, physicality and raw emotion, which Grotowski pushed to bring out in his theory of Poor Theatre , would suit this scene greatly. In addition, this feeling of regret, anger and hatred he feels after killing the two would enable me to create an uneasy, dark atmosphere for the piece. I read a monologue based on the last scene and used it as a stimulus for my devised monologue . I also watched a theatre production on YouTube based on that very scene of Romeo and Juliet to understand the story better while developing further ideas about how to form the piece. This was a dark interpretation of the last scene, and it helped me form the idea of setting the play in a graveyard where Juliet was buried while I addressed her as if she was alive and reindulged in Romeo s memories with ... Imagery such as hands disappeared before my eyes and meteors left smoky trails evoked nostalgia among the readers. Physical and psychological exams and a stress test can be administered. Along with tests that regard the body, mental tests are given, such as a written essay and an interview. When Sally first took flight she was thirty two years old. Even though Valentina Tereshrova beat Sally to the title First Woman in Space on June 16, 1963, it never stopped Sally from doing her best. Sally s first flight was June 18, 1983. Her mission was STS 7. Her first flight was on the shuttle Challenger. Captain Robert L. Crippen, Captain Fredrick H. Hauck, Colonel John M. Fabian, and Dr. Norman E. Thagard were the crew members, excluding Sally. On this flight she was Mission Specialist and used the robotic arm. Another job Sally had on flight was flight engineer. The total flight duration was one hundred and forty seven hours. STS 7 landed at Edwards Air Force Base in California on June 24, 1983. After this flight Sally was credited with the title First American Woman in Space. October 5, 1984 Sally s second flight launched. This flight was STS 41 G. On this flight she was also Mission Specialist. One hundred ninety seven hours was the duration of this flight. The shuttle landed October 13, 1984. Once, during an interview a reporter asked what launch felt like. Space Mountain is what Sally compared launch to. Space Mountain is a ride in Walt Disney World s Magic Kingdom park, and said the ride was scarier. After her flights Sally went on tour. After the STS 7, Sally lost much of her privacy. The term cultural imperialism can be defined as broad cultural effects of imperialism including colonialism, but more recently, it tends to have the imperialistic impact of global capitalism. Cultural imperialism is recognized as a kind of form of the Western hegemony in which a way of cultural power to dominate other national cultures throughout the world that is not only through the entertainment but also through all areas of culturethat including food, dress as well as media (Crane, Kawashima and Kawasaki 2002, p.668). There is a distinctive example of de westernization illustrated in Fuchs s article. There is no need for cultural homogenisation (Fuchs 2015, p.229), every country can have their own tradition like Bollywood film, the dancing is a special characteristic of Bollywood film which is different from other countries movies. Fuchs and Sparks both mentioned about the economic developments in BRICS countries compared to that of the US together with other western countries. The figures all indicated that the BRICS countries have grown rapidly in recent years, especially in China. So this phenomenon indicates that BRICS countries are gradually occupying the world s GDP, however, the Gini coefficient in BRICS countries remains high which means that there are high inequalities of annual income in these nations, inequality between capitalism and working class. Although the GDP of BRICS countries grown fast, the financial shares of information companies still dominated by the US which has three to five times larger than the combined BRICS information sectors (Fuchs 2015, p.231). What is more, as Sparks (Sparks 2013, p.124) mentioned in his article, the India media system has an expansion both in broadcasting and newspapers, it has a large number of readership and audiences which the US can not compete with. However, the US spent an abundant amount of expenditure on advertising which is about eight times larger than that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. To His Coy Mistress Rhyme Scheme In Andrew Marvell s poem, To His Coy Mistress , the speaker argues that if he and the woman he is addressing had an infinite amount of time together, there would be no rush to be together. However, since they are not immortal and only human, they cannot be together forever and only have what is offered to them: the present moment. The speaker tries to convince the woman to seize the day and to indulge in the physical aspect of their relationship before marriage. Marvell s argument is that instead of categorizing our lives based on and fretting about what should be done in the present versus what should be done in the future, people should cherish every moment as it comes. By using this irregularity and not using a rigid pattern throughout the poem, Marvell cleverly throws the reader off to the uneven distribution of syllables in order and their attention is given to the substance of those lines. The third line (twelve syllables) contains no pauses and continues into the fourth line (eight syllables), reason being that this rhythm contrasts the rhythm of the couplet, where the two lines possess ten syllables ... • 40. Reading Lolita In The Tehran And The Underground Girls Of... Both Reading Lolita in the Tehran by Azar Nafisi and The Underground Girls of Kabul by Jenny Nordberg are works of nonfiction documenting the lives of women in the turbulent political environments in the Middle East. Being a woman, particularly an educated one, during the 80 s and 90 s in Iran meant a drastic limitation of personal freedoms and expressions through self image and art, a concept demonstrated through how Nafisi recalls her experience as a literature professor at the University of Tehran and how her students perceived the books she taught. Nordberg similarly expresses the sexual discrimination in the Middle Eastthrough her documentation of young girls as they search for a way to achieve personal freedoms by cross dressing as the liberated sex in a post Taliban Afghanistan. Through her interviews of Kabul s Bacha Posh population, Nordberg establishes for the Western reader how the maltreated young girls Afghanistan constantly dream of an elusive freedom granted to their brothers, fathers, and husbands, and how few establish the otherwise unattainable by presuming the role of a boy for their adolescence. Nafisi s demonstration of similar sexual oppression is related as a memoir of her students where she utilizes their interpretations of 20th century western literature to serve as a reflection of the lives of her student through sexual oppression and conflicting political and religious factions. Review Of No Art Passes Our Conscience On The Way Film Chapter 1 | INTRODUCTION TO TASK No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls. Ingmar Bergman1 Making motion pictures is business from over a century. Though, this field is considered as the most expensive form of Art. To execute a perfect scene, there are hundreds of people working behind the camera, holding and managing equipments. Equipments are for enhancing the beauty of film. Now a day this art is not limited for film theatres or multiplexes. We live in an era of Internet and have plenty of platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and Netflix to showcase this art. But for small production house, it s impossible to have the same equipments as the mighty film makers has. This project work is to help out those productions which cannot afford the advance technology named Motion control. The technique is commonly used when duplication of an element which cannot be physically duplicated is required; motion control is the primary method of featuring multiple shots of the same actor in a scene that consist of camera movement. For this method, the camera typically films exactly the same motion in exactly the same location while the actor performs different parts. With the help of engineering we will make such a product that can be used by small budget film makers out there. Under 7th Semester Project, we talked with emerging Advertisement ... • 42. Review Of System Properties And Type Of Tasks Review of System Properties/Type of Tasks 2.3.1 Soft/Hard real time tasks The real time tasks are classified as hard and soft real time tasks. 2.3.2 Periodic/Aperiodic/Sporadic tasks It is activated tasks in real time periodic (release) regularly fixed rates (periods). The majority of sensory processing is cyclical in nature. For example, the radar that tracks flights produce data at a constant rate [4, 1.7, and 3]. Is activated aperiodic tasks in real time is a regular at some unknown rate and perhaps indefinitely. . The bounded rate is characterized by a minimum inter arrival period; that is, a minimum interval of time between two successive activations. The time constraint is usually a deadline [4, 1, 7, and 3]. 2.3.3 Preemptive/Non preemptive tasks In some algorithms, real time scheduling, a task that can be preempted if other higher priority task becomes ready. On the other hand, must be the completion of the task is a preemptive without interruption once it is started [4.1, 2, 3]. 2.3.4 Independent/Dependent tasks Given the real time system, a task that will begin implementation may require access to information provided by another task of the system. Therefore, you must begin to perform a task after the completion of the implementation of the other task. This is the concept of subsidiarity. Tasks that rely shared memory usage or communication data for the transfer of information generated for a single task, and required by the other. While ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Hierarchy Of Structure And Agency There is a constant debate about the primacy of structure or agency in forming human behavior in the social science. Carlsnaes (as cited in Hay, 1995) claimed that the problem of structure and agency is ... the central problem of social and political theory . Radically, the agency structure problem is an ontological problem which is related to the nature of structures, agents and their correlations (Wight, 2003). There are four influential positions in the structure agency debate: structuralism, intentionalism, structuration theory and critical realism (Hay, 1995). In his book, structuralism emphasizes the dominance of structure rather than agency on behavior. It is a structure centered approach, arguing that structures constrain and even determine agency in the relationship between structure and agency. However, intentionalism highlights the agents in explaining behavior. It is an agency centered approach that regards structures as the product of intentional acts. Structuration theory presents a developed attempt to transcend the dualism in which structure and agency are connected externally. It argues for the duality of structure . Critical realism is based on a dialectical cognizance of structure and agency, striving to overcome the dualism of the two. It links to strategic relational approach . This essay will argue that structure and agency is a dialectical unity of relationship, and they entail and affect each other. In exceptional circumstances, they can be ... For example what are their attitudes toward the game of golf and just basically find out their backgrounds and opinions on the game of golf. I found all this out by using some primary research methods that we discussed in class to gain valuable feedback for my final paper. First of all I broke down my thesis into a simple questionand that question was is golfmore of a challenge to people mentally or physically. Before I get to answer my thesis statement directly I first would like to discuss the research methods that I performed. There were three main primary research methods that I used to gather feedback and input for my paper. These methods that I used were a survey, two interviews, and a case study that I performed. First of all I will look at my survey that I constructed to gather feedback from people. I performed a survey on ten people all of whom I knew as they were close friends or relatives. I did this instead of distributing the survey to random people on campus because it interested me more to see the answers to my questions from people that I know then from strangers. The surveys did not have names on them so therefore I did not know who did what survey but it was fun to take a look at the answers and guess who did this one and analyze their answers. In my survey I put several questions that I felt would help me to answer my thesis statement and gather a lot of information on people s feelings about golf. For example I directly asked in the survey do you see golf as more of a mental of physical challenge to you. I also asked some typical questions like what your favorite sport is, how many rounds of golf do you play a year, what age did you start to golf, and do you own a set of golf clubs. Its operational capacity was severely limited by runway layout; Stapleton had two parallel north south runways and two additional parallel east west runways that accommodated only commuter air carriers. Denver s economy grew and expanded greatly in the early 1980s, consequent to booms in the oil, real estate, and tourism industries. An aging and saturated Stapleton Airport was increasingly seen as a liability that limited the attractiveness of the region to the many businesses that were flocking to it. Delays had become chronic. Neither the north south nor east west parallel runways had sufficient lateral separation to accommodate simultaneous parallel arrival streams during poor weather conditions when instrument flight rules were in effect. This lack of runway separation and the layout of Stapleton s taxiways tended to cause delays during high traffic periods, even when weather conditions were good. Denver s geographic location and the growing size of its population and commerce made it an attractive location for airline hubbing operations. At one point, Stapleton had housed four airline hubs, more than any other airport in the United States. In poor weather and during periods of hightraffic volume, however, its limitations disrupted connection schedules that were important to maintaining these operations. A local storm could easily congest air traffic across the entire United States.3 3According to James Barnes [1993], By 1994, Stapleton was one of the top five ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
