These are organized around a career cluster and feature a series of orientation and advanced pathway courses, including early college, across education institutions that are accompanied by opportunities for students to enrich their learning through work-based learning experiences as well as demonstrate their understanding through assessments and industry credentialing opportunities.
Originally developed and implemented as part of Career and Technical Education (CTE), P-20 STEM Programs of Study serve as a model for bridging programs across P-20 education institutions and are demonstrated to improve academic achievement, increase graduation rates, and improve transitions to postsecondary education and employment. Also, P-20 STEM Programs of Study are designed to improve access and success for underrepresented populations in STEM fields, such as women, minorities, low-income, and disabled students.
Aligned to the National Career Cluster Framework, P-20 STEM Programs of Study enable the State's education institutions to align their curriculum, assessments and career counseling with the State's growing economic development sectors thereby ensuring successful transitions to employment and a stronger economy for Illinois. Governments, universities, and businesses must work together to increase access to digital education for all children. First, governments must provide computers, tablets, and internet access, especially for rural and disabled children. Universities should share knowledge in rural communities through ebooks and online courses translated into different languages. Finally, businesses can sponsor organizations to improve digital education quality and provide scholarships for rural students to study abroad.

This Illinois Longitudinal Data System (ILDS) Annual Report & Plan is the third such plan adopted by the ILDS Governing Board. This Annual Report & Plan initially describes the ILDS governance activities since January 2015, with a focus on activities since the adoption of the prior plan. The employment landscape is shifting. Education needs to be more relevant to the real world, and resources and investments need to be coordinated in a way that makes sense to industry partners. In order to achieve this, we need complimentary community and state-level approaches for this work. Illinois Pathways was launched in 2012 to respond to the changing education to employment dynamics.
Key Strategies of Illinois Pathways are:
Support local career pathway systems development that empower students to explore their academic and career interests in STEM fields through new and existing community and state networks.
Creation and support of new state-wide, public-private partnerships known as STEM Learning Exchanges that work to create partnerships between schools, industry, state-government, and non-profits which better coordinate investments, resources, and planning in a particular industry cluster.

Afterschool programs provide learning opportunities for students after 3pm when the regular school day ends. Research shows that afterschool programs improve student achievement in math and attendance. Students who participate in well-structured afterschool programs for longer durations demonstrate greater improvements. Afterschool programs are also shown to develop students' team-building, leadership, and 21st century skills while keeping them safe and engaged in enriching activities outside of school hours. Leveraging existing school facilities, resources, and community partnerships can help expand access to afterschool programs at a relatively low cost compared to the regular school day.

The symposium brought together 150 education leaders who agreed that the current education system is insufficient and needs to be redesigned around the individual student. Promise neighborhood plenary presentation final
The document summarizes Diplomas Now, a comprehensive school turnaround model. It received a $30 million federal grant and $6 million private match to implement the model in 60 high-poverty middle and high schools across 10 districts, reaching 57,000 students. The Education Alliance launched several new initiatives in the past year focused on remaking learning for West Virginia students, including a STEM Network Schools program, financial literacy initiative, and partnerships to support early childhood education. The STEM Network Schools program aims to increase student engagement in STEM subjects and has already trained over 430 teachers. A new financial literacy initiative works to strengthen students' financial capability and increase college access. United Way Born Learning Academies partner with schools to provide early childhood education resources and support to over 260 families.

advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to

population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land

Empowering communities in Illinois to create sustainable education-to-employment systems for all students Teresa Ramos, Ph.D Andrea Messing-Mathie, Ph.D. Sam Nelson, MA Advance Illinois Education Systems Center @ NIU ISAC Director of Outreach Deputy Director Director of Outreach Development tramos@advanceillinois.org amessingmathie@niu.edu Sam.Nelson@isac.illinois.gov 312-467-5904 630-915-8740 800-899-4722 x 3103 Illinois students should be graduating high school ready with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in life after high school—college and career. Today all high school graduates need some postsecondary education and/or training if they are to have options and opportunities in the job market. In Illinois, 8 of 10 employers say they need employees with some postsecondary education. Currently only 40% of Illinois residents have a high-quality post-secondary college or career credential. These realities in Illinois have driven communities to look for broader solutions to what are increasingly seen as systemic problems in the education-to-employment continuum. The Illinois 60 by 2025 Network is an ever-emerging network of communities in Illinois that are committed to the goal of ensuring that 60% of all adults have a college or career credential by 2025. This network is designed to meet the needs of communities that are working together to provide rigorous, real world learning in and out of the classroom. Creating a Community of Practice in Illinois A coalition led by Advance Illinois, Illinois Student Assistance Commission, and the Education Systems Center at Northern Illinois University has come together to create a community of practice to help local and regional teams accelerate progress toward the 60% by 2025 goal. These teams are using the principles of collective impact to support collaboration between public and private partners to adopt the following strategies: Supporting the implementation of the new Illinois Learning Standards Aligning student transitions from high school into postsecondary education and careers Developing Illinois Pathways as a key strategy to increase the number of degrees and credentials students earn in priority areas for the State and local economy Through this Network, local community teams and statewide partners (such as the Illinois P-20 Council and Illinois Board of Higher Education) are working together to align policy, use data, and mobilize leaders around a common agenda. Participating teams also have access to technical assistance and resources. Bringing Communities Together The Illinois 60 by 25 Network hosted conferences in January 2014 and 2015 that engaged a growing number of state partners and community/regional teams committed to the 60 by 25 goal. Over 15 Illinois communities participated and set goals for the year ahead. Community teams gained deeper knowledge of the strategies above and a network of partners to this launch this work at home. As a result, Network organizers are building a platform for action that connects state and local agendas so that more students are ready to be productive members of their communities. The next conference will take place on January 26 and 27, 2016, in Springfield, and will focus on a theme of Vision to Action.
