Abstract— Vehicular on demand ad-hoc network (VANET) is understood as a necessary issue of good Transportation systems. The key advantage of VANET communication is looked in dynamic protection systems, that objective to improve security of travelers by exchanging caution messages between vehicles. Alternative applications and private services also are allowed so as to lower management expenses and to market VANET exploitation. To effectively established VANET, security is one amongst key challenges that has got to be tackled. Another vital concern is measurability could be a serious issue for a network designer a way to maintain stable communication and services in VANET. Extraordinarily dynamic atmosphere of VANETs looks it troublesome. This paper introduced an automatic reliability management method for VANETs that uses machine learning to categories nodes as malicious. Cluster creation is one effective method for the measurability drawback. Here conjointly given associate entropy-based WCA (EWCA) cluster maintained method which may handle the steady of the automobile network.

Abstract : Vehicular communication is considered to be a backbone for many critical safety applications. In
order to achieve a better implementation of any vehicular communication scenario, an efficient, accurate and
reliable simulator is essential. Various open source and commercial simulating tools are available for this
purpose. One of the key issues in this regard is the selection of a reliable simulator which implements all
standard algorithms and paradigms giving accurate results. In this paper, we first present IEEE standard and
protocols for vehicular communication, IEEE 802.11p and IEEE 1609.x, also known as WAVE protocol stack.
The paper then discusses the necessary requirements for a generic discrete event simulator which can be used to
simulate Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks. Since not all the network simulators can be used in the scenario of
vehicular communication, we highlight the key features of some network simulators in the context of vehicular
ad-hoc networks. The paper also highlights some of the implementation limitations in these simulators.
Furthermore, the paper presents a discussion on traffic simulators by emphasizing on the underlying mobility
models used in order to generate the realistic traffic patterns. A comparative study of both network and traffic
simulators show the pros and cons of these simulation tools. The paper suggests the appropriate choice of a
network simulator to be used as a VANET simulator.

Deterministic AODV Routing Protocol for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networkpaperpublications3
Abstract: Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) can provide scalable and cost-effective solutions for applications such as traffic safety, dynamic route planning, and context-aware advertisement using short-range wireless communication. To function properly, these applications require efficient routing protocols. However, existing mobile ad hoc network routing and forwarding approaches have limited performance in VANETs. This dissertation shows that routing protocols which account for VANET-specific characteristics in their designs, such as position and mobility of Vehicle, can provide good performance for a large spectrum of applications.
Increased vehicular traffic demands smart vehicles which can interact with each other and roadside infrastructure to prevent accidents. Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) provides this flexibility to the vehicles. In this desertion we initially analyze the performance of AODV and OLSR, and further we improve the performance of AODV by selecting the node on the basis of trust value of the successive nodes, we also reduce the neighbor hood expiry time and correspondingly update the route table of AODV, with this purposed approach we would be able to reduce the end-to-end delay of AODV sufficiently also the performance of AODV increase in terms of Throughput and packet delivery ratio. Keywords: VANET, AODV, ROUTING, ROUT TABLE.

Abstract Vehicular Ad Hoc network which is a highly wireless network has went through lot of research in the past few years. The VANETs services are being used in many services today but because of many difficulties faced due to connectivity issues faced and low scalability the VANETs have yet not become popular. The existing VANET routing protocols need a topology that can serve as a framework which will help in its integration. For validating our computation we used urban city model, and generated vehicular mobility traces from the mobility model. The traces were added to the network simulator to study the routing behaviour. To realise the safety feature of VANETs two scenarios are added, the regular safety data streaming and the accidental scenario streaming. The simulation results are demonstrated for the VANETs networking and computation. Keywords: Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), Integration and Frame-Work.

Dynamic multiagent method to avoid duplicated information at intersections in...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) allow vehicles to contact one another to provide safety and comfort applications. However, mobility is a great challenge in VANETs. High vehicle speed causes topological changes that result in unstable networks. Therefore, most previous studies focused on using clustering techniques in roads to reduce the effect of vehicle mobility and enhance network stability. Vehicles stop moving at intersections, and their mobility does not impact clustering. However, none of previous studies discussed the impact of vehicle stopping at intersections on base stations (BSs). Vehicles that have stopped moving at intersections continue to send the same information to BSs, which causes duplicated information. Hence, this study proposes a new method named dynamic multiagent (DMA) to filter cluster information and prevent duplicated information from being sent to BSs at intersections. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated through simulations during the use of DMA and without-DMA (W-DMA) methods based on real data collected from 10 intersections in Batu Pahat City, Johor, Malaysia. Overall, the proposed DMA method results in a considerable reduction in duplicated information at intersections, with an average percentage of 81% from the W-DMA method.

Thus the access mode switch and resource allocation between cellular and VANETs become a challenging issue. Each road segment was then assigned a weight according to the overall view of the traffic conditions and updated systematically to reflect traffic variations. Finally, the road segments providing operative and dependable data paths were used to frame a routing path with latched connectivity and a short distribution lag to the destination. Simulation results showed that the use of TARCO leads to high network performance in terms of the packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay and communication upward. Mr. P. Senthil | Mrs. A. Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is an application which provides intelligence to the transportation
and traffic management systems. Although the word ITS applies to all systems in the transportation but as
per the European union directive it is the application of Information and communication technology in the
field of transportation is defined as ITS. The communication technology has evolved greatly today from
2G/3G to long term evolution (LTE). In this paper we focus on the LTE and its application in the ITS. Since
LTE offers excellent QoS, wide area coverage and high availability it is a preferred choice for vehicle to
infrastructure (V2I) service. At the same time the LTE customer base is increasing day by day which results
in congestion and accessing the network to send or request resources becomes difficult. In this paper we
have proposed a group based node selection algorithm to reduce the preamble ID collision otherwise this
uncoordinated preamble ID transmission by vehicle node (VN) will eventually clog the network and there
will be a massive congestion and re-transmissions attempts by VNs to obtain the random access channel

The vehicle itself is an information source that produces a large amount of various information including actual vehicle and environment sensors. The implementation of an efficient and scalable model for information dissemination in VANETs possesses major issues. In this dynamic environment, an ever-growing number of context dissemination messages are leveling up the usage of the channel which affects the network performance. This presentation tries to analyze and assess the key ideas of how to overcome the context data dissemination and how to reduce the amounts of transferred and stored data in a vehicular cooperation environment. This is one of the most prominent topics of pervasive computing.

Intra-vehicular wireless sensor networks (IVWSN) is a promising new research area that can provide part cost, assembly, maintenance savings and fuel efficiency through the elimination of the wires, and enable new sensor technologies to be integrated into vehicles, which would otherwise be impossible using wired means, such as Intelligent Tire. However, there are currently no detailed models describing the UWB channel for IVWSN making it difficult to design a suitable communication system. We analyze the small- scale and large-scale statistics of the UWB channel beneath the chassis of a vehicle by collecting data at various locations with 81 measurement points per transmitter-receiver pair for different types of vehicles including the scenarios of turning the engine on and movement on the road. Moreover, the close interaction of communication with control systems, strict reliability, energy efficiency and delay requirements in such harsh environment containing a large number of reflectors operating at extreme temperatures are distinguishing properties of this network. We investigate optimal power control, rate adaptation and scheduling for UWB-based IVWSN for one Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and multiple ECU cases.

With the constant increase in vehicular traffic, existing traffic management solutions have become inefficient. Urbanization has led to an increase in traffic jams and accidents in major cities. In order to accommodate the growing needs of transport systems today, there is a need for an Intelligent Transport System. Vehicular Ad hoc Network VANET is a growing technology that assists in Intelligent Transport Systems. VANETs enable communication between vehicles as well as fixed infrastructure called Road Side Units RSU . We propose a distributed, collaborative traffic congestion detection and dissemination system that uses VANET. Each of the driver's smart phones is equipped with a Traffic App which is capable of location detection through Geographic Position based System GPS . This information is relayed to a remote server which detects traffic congestion. Once congestion is confirmed the congestion information is disseminated to the end user phone through RSUs. The Mobile App transmits the location information at periodic intervals. Using the latitude, longitude and the current time, the location of each vehicle is traced. Using location information, the distance moved by the vehicle at a given time is monitored. If the value is below a fixed threshold, congestion is suspected in a particular area. If many vehicles in the same area send similar messages, traffic congestion is confirmed. Once traffic congestion is confirmed, the vehicles approaching the congested area are informed about the traffic through display boards that are available in the nearest RSUs traffic signals . The congestion information is also made available through the Mobile App present in vehicles approaching the congested area. The approaching vehicles may take diversion and alleviate congestion. Adaptive Source Provision System (ASPS) for
Proficient Freight Complementary in WiMAX
Network
Today in the wireless network field, WiMAX
(Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave access) has
emerged out as one of the promising networking
technologies. In order to compete with the existing wireless
technologies like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15),
WiMAX has to promise cost efficiency and better quality of
service (QoS). The Adaptive source provision system is
proposed to control traffic rate and ensure load balancing in
the WiMAX network. The proposed approach considers
relay station in the network. When there is an arrival of new
users in the network, its data rate is computed and then
compared with the data rate of RS. When the data rate of
new user is less than that of RS, then the data rate of the
corresponding base station is compared. The connections
are switched from congested stations to non-congested
stations to minimize network load. The handover mechanism
is used by BSs for optimally balancing the traffic load within
the network. LB-based handover mechanism guarantee
user’s QoS and evenly distributes the traffic load. The
experimental analysis showed that the proposed method
achieves better traffic management and load balancing
when compared with the existing approaches.

Traffic Control System by Incorporating Message Forwarding ApproachCSCJournals
During the last few years, continuous progresses in wireless communications have opened new research fields in computer networking, aimed at extending data networks connectivity to environments where wired solutions are impracticable. Among these, vehicular traffic is attracting a growing attention from both academia and industry, due to the amount and importance of related distributive applications to mobile entertainment. VANETs are self-organized networks built up from moving vehicles, and are part of the broader class of MANETs. Because of these peculiar characteristics, VANETs require new networking techniques, whose feasibility and performance are usually tested by means of simulation. In order to meet performance goals, it is widely agreed that VANETs must rely heavily on node-to-node communication. In VANET, each vehicle acts as a node and communicates with other vehicles within the range or communicates with base stations. The main idea is to deploy a wireless communication network that has a capability of sending and receiving messages between transmitter and mobile devices in the particular network. Results can be shown using an effective VEINS Simulator. This Simulator can produce detailed vehicular movement traces and can simulate different traffic conditions through fully customizable scenarios. The Framework is expected to be employed using such simulator that makes use of traffic modulator, network simulator and coupling module that integrates the traffic and network.
Master-Slave Clustering Technique for High Density Traffic in Urban VANET Sce...rifat1tasnim
Moving vehicle is never free of traffic congestion especially in the cities. Every day commuters wastes hours in travelling just because of traffic congestion. This has led to the emergence of vehicular management which will be beneficial for Road Transport department to control and manage the traffic flow on congested roads. Thus to support above idea we have Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network, or VANET technology that turns every participating car into a node, allowing cars to connect with each other and in turn create a network. There are wealthy numbers of approaches were highlighted to solve several thriving challenges of VANET. Clustering technique in vehicle is one of them which made a great impact on VANET. But it fails to fulfill a crucial requirement. Several protocols wanted to build a cluster in low density traffic where the numbers of vehicles are less with respect to transmission range & there is a less chance of broadcast storming which is not a practical scenario. So that cluster formation in high density traffic has arisen as an issue where there is a great possibility to broadcast storm. This paper suggests a “Priority Based Master-Slave Cluster Formation Process” in high density traffic for an urban scenario using “fidelity” metric. With the help of this metric it will be easier to find high density traffic & form priority based Master-Slave dynamically by reducing broadcast storm problem.
In this paper CHP function runs on the vehicular environment which carried out to select a vehicle as Master. In this Ad-hoc wireless environment a dataset is assumed which create a proper environment & generate a graph. Graph results can be analyzed to have the highest one selects as a Master. Thus for the final result, real aspects of vehicular traffic is very essential and scenarios play a very crucial role.
Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are classified as a special application of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs)
which promise the new possibilities to improve traffic efficiency, road safety driving convenience. By providing the safety and
non-safety applications and sharing the useful information through vehicle to vehicle (V2V) or vehicle to roadside (V2R)
communications to avoid accidents and provide reliable information to travellers, such hot issues seeks much attention of
researchers in this field. VANET and MANET having several common characteristics but VANET differ with applications,
architecture, challenges and data dissemination. The survey of routing protocols in VANETs is important and necessary issue for
smart ITS. The objective of this paper is to design an algorithm for the detection and correction of routing attacks made by
obstructive nodes in VANETS and also drawn the comparison between various metrics like Cost, Average Packet loss,
Throughput and Energy Consumed.
SIMULATION & VANET: TOWARDS A NEW RELIABLE AND OPTIMAL DATA DISSEMINATION MODELpijans
Ad hoc networks was developed in the 2000s, they was highly used in dynamic environment, particularly
for inter- vehicular communication (VANETs : Vehicular Ad hoc Networks).
Since that time, many researches and developments process was dedicated to VANET networks. These were
motivated by the current vehicular industry trend that is leading to a new transport system generation
based on the use of new communication technologies in order to provide many services to passengers, the
fact that improves the driving and travel’s experience.
These systems require traffic information sharing and dissemination, such as the alert message emitting,
that be exchanged for drivers protection on the road. Sharing such information between vehicles helps to
anticipate potentially dangerous situations, as well as planning better routes during congestion situations.
The current paper attempts to model and simulate VANET Networks, aiming to analyze and evaluate
security information dissemination approaches and mechanisms used in this type of networks in several
exchanges conditions. The second objective is to identify their limitations and suggest a new improved
approach. This study was conducted as part of our research project entitled “Simulation & VANETs”,
where we justify and validate our approach using modeling and simulation techniques and tools used in
this domain.

Back-Bone Assisted HOP Greedy Routing for VANETijsrd.com
Using advanced wireless local area network technologies, vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have become viable and valuable for their wide variety of novel applications, such as road safety, multimedia content sharing, commerce on wheels, etc., currently, geographic routing protocols are widely adopted for VANETs as they do not require route construction and route maintenance phases. Again, with connectivity awareness, they perform well in terms of reliable delivery. Further, in the case of sparse and void regions, frequent use of the recovery strategy elevates hop count. Some geographic routing protocols adopt the minimum weighted algorithm based on distance or connectivity to select intermediate intersections. However, the shortest path or the path with higher connectivity may include numerous intermediate intersections. As a result, these protocols yield routing paths with higher hop count. In this paper, we propose a hop greedy routing scheme that yields a routing path with the minimum number of intermediate intersection nodes while taking connectivity into consideration. Moreover, we introduce back-bone nodes that play a key role in providing connectivity status around an intersection. Apart from this, by tracking the movement of source as well as destination, the back-bone nodes enable a packet to be forwarded in the changed direction. Simulation results signify the benefits of the proposed routing strategy in terms of high packet delivery ratio and shorter end-to-end delay.
Comparative study of proactive and reactive routing protocols in vehicular ad...IJECEIAES
In recent years, the vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET), which is an ad-hoc network used by connected autonomous vehicles (CAV) for information processing, has attracted the interest of researchers in order to meet the needs created by the accelerating development of autonomous vehicle technology. The enormous amount of information and the high speed of the vehicles require us to have a very reliable communication protocol. The objective of this paper is to determine a topology-based routing protocol that improves network performance and guarantees information traffic over VANET. This comparative study was carried out using the simulation of urban mobility (SUMO) and network simulator (NS-3). Through the results obtained, we will show that the choice of the type of protocol to use depends on the size of the network and also on the metrics to be optimized.
Security schemes based on conditional privacy-preserving vehicular ad hoc net...nooriasukmaningtyas
Recently, vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have been garnering
significant inter-est from the people involved in transportation field.
Nowadays automotive manufactur-ers have already supplying vehicles with
multitude of road sensors that provides many useful characteristics. VANET
communication not only offers the drivers and passen-gers with the various
safety related services but also provides a wide range of valuable
applications. However, the inherent openness of the wireless communication
medium used by VANETs exposes vehicles to various security and privacy
issues. Researchers have proposed many security schemes to solve the issues
mentioned above for the widespread deployment of VANETs. However,
these schemes failed to fulfill all as-pects of security and privacy
requirements. Besides, these schemes have not provided the performance
parameters such as computation and communication costs. The pri-mary
emphasis of this paper is on the taxonomy of security schemes based
conditional privacy-preserving with respect to strengths and limitations.
Besides, a comparison be-tween these schemes related to the model of
security and privacy requirements, attacks, and performance parameters is
provided. Finally, this paper critically reviews the re-lated works by taking
into consideration the design and development of all VANETs security and
privacy schemes, this paper could serve as a guide and reference.
Performance Evaluation of VANETs for Evaluating Node Stability in Dynamic Sce...Editor IJCATR
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are a favorable area of exploration which empowers the interconnection amid the movable vehicles and between transportable units (vehicles) and road side units (RSU). In Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), mobile vehicles can be organized into assemblage to promote interconnection links. The assemblage arrangement according to dimensions and geographical extend has serious influence on attribute of interaction .Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are subclass of mobile Ad-hoc network involving more complex mobility patterns. Because of mobility the topology changes very frequently. This raises a number of technical challenges including the stability of the network .There is a need for assemblage configuration leading to more stable realistic network. The paper provides investigation of various simulation scenarios in which cluster using k-means algorithm are generated and their numbers are varied to find the more stable configuration in real scenario of road.
Optimization of Quality of Service (QoS) framework for highway based Vehicula...IJERA Editor
The Vehicular Ad-hoc Network is a novel technology. It has the property of higher node mobility. Vehicular Adhoc
networks offer wireless communications between vehicles themselves (V2V) and between vehicles to the
roadside units (V2R). The VANET is an active research area, as it has great prospective to enhance the road and
vehicle safety, efficiency of traffic. Vehicular Ad-hoc Network not only just provides the safety applications, but
also provides communication to the users. The QoS support in VANET is a challenge when the existing routing
paths become no longer are available as a result of changes in the velocity and position of node, and distance
between the vehicular nodes or network topology. In this study we designed a framework which provides us the
facility to enhance various Quality of Service parameters, such as End to End Delay, throughput and packet loss
ratio etc. The proposed model uses layered approach, deep classification as existed QoS components are further
broken down and provides Quality of Experience to the users. NCTUns is used as simulation tool to build up
simulations. After getting the results of simulation we carried out the performance analysis of various routing
protocols. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme provides much better performance in terms
of various QoS parameters like End to End Delay, throughput and packet loss ratio
Big data traffic management in vehicular ad-hoc network IJECEIAES
Today, the world has experienced a new trend with regard to data system management, traditional database management tools have become outdated and they will no longer be able to process the mass of data generated by different systems, that's why big data is there to process this mass of data to bring out crucial information hidden in this data, and without big data technologies the treatment is very difficult to manage; among the domains that uses big data technologies is vehicular ad-hoc network to manage their voluminous data. In this article, we establish in the first step a method that allow to detect anomalies or accidents within the road and compute the time spent in each road section in real time, which permit us to obtain a database having the estimated time spent in all sections in real time, this will serve us to send to the vehicles the right estimated time of arrival all along their journey and the optimal route to attain their destination. This database is useful to utilize it like inputs for machine learning to predict the places and times where the probability of accidents is higher. The experimental results prove that our method permits us to avoid congestions and apportion the load of vehicles in all roads effectively, also it contributes to road safety.
APPLICABILITY OF OVERLAY NON-DELAY TOLERANT POSITION-BASED PROTOCOLS IN HIGHW...ijwmn
Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) is new sort in wireless ad-hoc networks. Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V)
communication is one of the main communication paradigms that provide a level of safety and convenience
to drivers and passengers on the road. In such environment, routing data packet is challenging due to
frequently changed of network topology because of highly dynamic nature of vehicles. Thus, routing in
VANETs in require for efficient protocols that guarantee message transmission among vehicles. Numerous
routing protocols and algorithms have been proposed or enhanced to solve the aforementioned problems.
Many position based routing protocols have been developed for routing messages that have been identified
to be appropriate for VANETs. This work explores the performances of selected unicast non-delay tolerant
overlay position-based routing protocols. The evaluation has been conducted in highway and urban
environment in two different scenarios. The evaluation metrics that are used are Packet Delivery Ratio
(PDR), Void Problem Occurrence (VPO), and Average Hop Count (AHC).

operational and physical constraints. The effect of the valve
point loading has been considered. Gravitational search
algorithm is based on the Newton’s law of gravitation. All
objects attract each other and global movement is towards
the heavier masses .However GSA has certain randomness
in search direction resulting in the weak local search ability.
In modified GSA, a time varying maximum velocity equation
is used which controls the exploration and improves the
convergence rate which strengthens its local search ability
and the quality of the hydrothermal solution.

In this paper, the investigation was made for the utilization
of waste heat in an improvised manner, so that the total
power of the automobile is not going to change and the fuel
efficiency is going to be enhanced. Here the use of vapor
absorption refrigeration system for the air conditioning
system was proposed and analyzed. This system was taken as
it can run on very low grade energy, such as waste heat of
the exhaust gas. The recent trend is to use the vapor
compression refrigeration system, where the principal part is
the compressor, which takes the power from the engine or
from auxiliary power unit and hence the fuel consumption
rate is increased. In the recent global scenario reducing the
fuel consumption is the main research area. The cooling
load of the automobile is estimated about 1.37 TR and the
measured cop value for the proposed model is varied from
0.85 to 1.04.
Here the main problem definition is to design an air

by exchanging with the refrigerant R134-a inside a
generator which is the replacement of the compressor in a
vapor absorption refrigeration system. The calculation
related to the design of proposed shell and tube heat

the rest design is theoretical study and proposed model to be

The maintaining of software system is a major
cost concern. The maintaining of a software system depends
on how the changes made to it. The maintainability of a system
depending on the folw of software, its design pattern and
CBSS. In Maintainability phase of a sotware system there are
4 parts, like analyzing, testing, stability, and changes made to
it. In some side areas, these systems emerged very rapidly.
There are many companies which purchase software instead
of developing it .These companies do not have any interst in
the testing of the system but wants to like smoothness in the
flow of the system during changes.
Changeability is one of the characteristics of maintainability.
Software changeability is associated with refactoring which
makes code simpler and easier to maintain (enable all
programmers to improve their code).Factors that affect
changeability include coupling between the modules, lack of
code comments, naming of functions and variables.
Basically,”changeabilty” is the ability of a product or software
to be able to change the structure of the program. It is the rate
the product allows the modification to its components.
In this paper changeability based cost estimation is done.
Initially we take four components; these components are
evaluated based on the coupling, cohesion and Interface
metrix. Next some changes are made to the existing
components and than again these components are evaluated.
Now, on the basis of these two evaluations some conclusion is
made for changeability cost.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of experimental work in dry turning of AISI 316 grade austenitic stainless steels using coated and uncoated cemented carbide inserts. The turning tests were conducted at three different cutting speeds (100,150 and 200 m/min) while feed rate and depth of cut were kept constant at 0.2 mm/rev and 1 mm, respectively. The cutting tools used were ISO P30 uncoated and TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-ZrCN multilayer coated cemented carbides. The influences of cutting speed were investigated on the average flank wear. The worn parts of the cutting tools were also examined using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that cutting speed significantly affected the average flank wear. The multilayer demonstrated superior resistance to tool wear compared to its uncoated counterpart in the entire range of cutting speeds during dry turning of austenitic stainless steel.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
