Performance of an
Extract from a Play
As part of an ensemble you will
look at a play to see how a
playwright expresses their ideas
about a theme or topic and
explore ways of making the play
work on stage.
14. • A Group Performance of a Devised Drama
You will use drama to communicate your feelings and ideas about a
particular issue. You will use specific performance techniques,
scripting skills, and technical elements in the devising of this work.
15. • A Solo Performance of a
Monologue
As an individual performer you will
present a performance that communicates
ideas about a theme or a topic and
explore ways of making the performance
work on stage. This can be a scripted
extract or an original devised piece.
16. Written Exam Paper 40%
You will analyse a play extract chosen by the exam
board and make your own performance decisions
based on this knowledge. Questions regarding these
decisions will be asked as part of the written exam
