Text: II Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation; old things have passed
away; behold, all things have become
new.
2. Theme: “If any man be in Christ”
Introduction
The importants of the son of the king!
Illustration
Once a King's son Got lost. The king announced that
whoever gets him will be rewarded with whatever he
asked for-even if it was half of his Kingdom! All people
went searching. Rivers, mountains, jungles, forests and
all other places but failed to relocate the boy. Finally a
poor man got the prince. That poor man lived in the
forest, and when he got the boy, he took him directly to
the King for his reward. When he reached at the gate,
the two gate men threatened him that he must divide
the reward he gets to them or else they will kill him.
The Poor man agreed and accepted to share them his
reward. He entered, and was brought before the king
with the prince. The king was the happiest man, He then
told the Poor man to say his reward and that it would be
given to him, under the kings seal. The poor man said he
wanted strongest men in the kingdom to get sticks and
flog him with 200 strokes. The king was furious with the
3. Poor man's decision and he said he can't do such a
wicked thing to someone who saved his son's life. But
the Poor man insisted and his reward was brought, sticks
and two men ready to flog the poor man.
Before he was flogged, he said that there are two men at
the gate who said they must share his gift or else they kill
him, and there for the poor man ordered them to be
brought and they share the reward. The two men were
flogged each 100 strokes. The king was happy with the
wisdom of a poor man and he gave him more rewards,
like land and cattle. He also made him a chief. He became
furious with the two gate men and they were made
slaves all there lives serving the poor man who was now
a chief!
MORAL LESSON:
There are many people who envy what God has given to
you not knowing it's your reward from God coz of
serving, loving and trusting Him. However much they will
try to steal your reward, you will overcome them and
God will make you prosper over them. If you believe that
God can change you fromzero to something because we
are in His son!
4. What does it means of the word if any man is in
Christ?
A: You are under His care
B: You are under His protection
C: You are under His Provision
What will happen if your life is not in Christ?
A: You are not under His care!
B: You are not under His protection!
C: You are not under His Provision
Our days on our entire lives are protected!

This happened recently On the wedding day, the bride was
waiting for the groom to arrive, after some minutes someone
called. caller: "Am i talking to Rita, the bride?“ bride: yes Caller:
Madam I am sorry to break this sad news to you, your groom
was crush by a tanker on his way to church to meet you. She
fainted that was how her happy day turn to a sad day.
5. Moral Lessons!
Bad news will not be your portion in the rest of the
remaining months of this year.you will not receive bad
calls you will not cry on your celebration day because you
are under the provision and protection of Jesus the Son
of God!
The word “Anyone”!
17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have
become new.
It means!
The love, care, protection and provision of God is
Rendered to everyone! Not only to a certain group of
tribes or people but to anyone!
We are equal in the eyes of God

Akpors and his wife were arguing about man and
woman – who is greater?.. Wife: Men are the head,
Without the neck, the head cannot stand.Men were
6. created out of dust,And flesh is stronger than the dust.
Finally, anything men do, man can’t give birth, but
woman can, and in the life of any successful man there
must be a woman.
Akpors: A woman is not complete without a man,
because you cannot spell “woMan” without “Man”. You
cannot spell “sHe” without “He”. Nor “Mrs” without
“Mr”, nor “mAdam” without “Adam”. And why is it that
we say “AMEN” in the church instead of “Awomen”?
Moral Lessons!
God didn’t say man is greater than a woman, or woman
is more important than a man, yet God said “anyone” is
important!
Man can’t stand without the woman, and they same
manner the woman can’t do anything without the man!
Remember the word “Behold”
From the Greek word - (id'-eh, ide)-
Literally it means, "Be sure to see”
7. The word “Behold” was used by God!
A: Before the fall
Genesis 1:29And God said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the
earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree
yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made,
and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the
morning were the sixth day.
From the very beginning God wants to demonstrate
and display to His creation what is Good and well
pleasing to the eyes!
B: After the fall
Genesis 6:12| And God looked upon the earth,
and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his
way upon the earth.
Job 1: 12
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is
in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So
Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
8. God restored His provision towards man kind after
the fall, though man is in the midst of failures and lapses
He patiently waited to see you, doing what is good and
well pleasing to His eyes by faith, because without faith
we can’t please God!
Why we are encouraged to do good after we were
saved?
Ephesians 5:25-27
25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the
churchand gave Himself for her, 26
that He might sanctify
and cleanse her with the washing of water by the
word,27
that He might present her to Himself a glorious
church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but
that she should be holy and without blemish!
You’re Not Forgotten

During the Second World War the US Army was forced to
retreat from the Philippines. Some of their soldiers were
left behind, and became prisoners of the Japanese. The
men called themselves “ghosts”, souls unseen by their
nation, and on the infamous Bataan Death March were
9. forced to walk over 70 miles, knowing that those who
were slow or weak would be bayoneted by their captors
or die from dysentery and lack of water.
Those who made it through the march spent the next
three years in a hellish prisoner-of-war camp. By early
1945, 513 men were still alive at the Cabanatuan prison
camp, but they were giving up hope. The US Army was
on its way back, but the POW’s had heard the frightening
news that prisoners were being executed as the Japanese
retreated from the advancing U.S. Army.
Their wavering hope was however met by one of the
most magnificent rescues of wartime history. In an
astonishing feat 120 US Army soldiers and 200 Filipino
guerrillas outflanked 8000 Japanese soldiers to rescue
the POW’s. Alvie Robbins was one of the rescuers. He
describes how he found a prisoner muttering in a
darkened corner of his barracks, tears coursing down his
face.
“I thought we’d been forgotten,” the prisoner said.
“No, you’re not forgotten,” Robbins said softly. “You’re
heroes. We’ve come for you.”
Often in life we can start to give up hope, to feel that
God has forgotten us, abandoned us to dark and hurtful
experiences, but the cross of Christ reminds us, “No,
10. you’re not forgotten” and the resurrection gives us the
assurance that some day we too will see our rescuer face
to face and be liberated from the distresses of this life.
When he returns we too will hear him say, “I’ve come for
you.”
