• Above 50% of evangelical Churches never give
importance to the value of the Dorcas within their
Church. (Senior, Junior,)
• Majority of the ministry in the body of Christ will be in
danger if we are going to take out and neglect our Dorcas.
Acts 6:1 (Church was close because of dis-agreement of the Dorcas)
• Therefore, revival and constant programs is a must to
avoid this matters. We have to remember that prevention
is better than cure. (Couples retreat)
• God’s Design of the Dorcas was slowly lost. We have to
revive and strengthen it. (Complain of the Dorcas after the activity of
the youth)
Text: Matthew 26: 6-13
• 6 While Jesus was in Bethany in the
home of Simon the Leper, 7 a
woman came to him with an
alabaster jar of very expensive
perfume, which she poured on his
head as he was reclining at the
table.
• 8 When the disciples saw
this, they were indignant.
“Why this waste?” they
asked. 9 “This perfume
could have been sold at a
high price and the money
given to the poor.”
• 10 Aware of this, Jesus said to
them, “Why are you bothering
this woman? She has done a
beautiful thing to me. 11 The
poor you will always have with
you, but you will not always
have me.
• 12 When she poured this
perfume on my body, she did it
to prepare me for burial. 13
Truly I tell you, wherever this
gospel is preached throughout
the world, what she has done
will also be told, in memory of
her.”
Theme: Revive God’s Design to the
Dorcas in the body of Christ
• Goal of this message
• Every Dorcas will grasp a biblical
understanding of God’s design
and make this spiritual insight
applied in their respective Local
churches.
Observe the Preposition used
from these verses?
• John 3:1-2
• There was a man of the Pharisees
named Nicodemus, a ruler of the
Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by
night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we
know that You are a teacher
come from God; for no one can
do these signs that You do unless
God is with him.”
Luke 26:6-7
6 While Jesus was in Bethany in
the home of Simon the Leper, 7 a
woman came to him with an
alabaster jar of very expensive
perfume, which she poured on
his head as he was reclining at

Very expensive perfume
The Alabaster Jar
• Understanding the meaning of the Alabaster Jar will
lead us to discover the spiritual truths about the Divine
design of God to the Dorcas in the body of Christ.
• 1: Some think that an alabaster Jar was just an
expensive perfume made from Egpyt. The equivalent of
the perfume was a one year salary.
• 2: Some think that an Alabaster Jar was her gift to Christ
as an appreciation because Lazaru was risen from the
dead.
• 3: The alabaster Jar was a spiritual symbols of God’s
design of the Dorcas in the body of Christ that we
should take as a pattern today.
The Alabaster Jar (God’s design of the
Dorcas in the Body of Christ)
• Mary gave the Alabaster Jar as a Gift- It was
innate in the hearts of the Dorcas that they were
concern about the gift or something to give. (Ptr
visit the member that never attended the worship service for 4
consecutive sundays)
• Mary gave the Alabaster Jar to anoint the body
of Christ- It was natural for the Dorcas to observe
that everything are well pleasing in the eyes and
the fragrance will manifest in the body of Christ.
(Church curtain, flower for Jesus)
Just Imagine without the Dorcas
in the Body of Christ
• Survey says that, “89% of the gifts received by the Pastors
was came from the Dorcas”. Imagine without the group of
the Dorcas that cared for their Pastor, what would be the
possible result to the man of God?
• Again Survey says, “92% of Church beautification of the
local church was done by the Dorcas. Imagine what will
happen to the Church without the group of the Dorcas?
• Lastly, Survey say, 51%- joy felt by the Man of God when he
heard the encouragement and seen the Dorcas actively
involve in every gatherings in the local Church.
Dorcas Played a Big role in
Christ Ministry
• Luke 8: 1 After this, Jesus traveled about from one
town and village to another, proclaiming the good
news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with
him, 2 and also some women who had been cured
of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called
Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come
out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of
Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others.
These women were helping to support them
out of their own means.
Dorcas faces several Problems
• V 8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant.
“Why this waste?” they asked. 9 “This perfume could
have been sold at a high price and the money given to
the poor.”
• V 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached
throughout the world, what she has done will also be
told, in memory of her.”
• Do not think of the comments of others but consider
the comment of God. Dorcas needs encouragement and
Jesus saw it and uttered His comment as a protection
and appreciation to Mary of what she did.
Conclusion
• 1: Be a catalyst of revival of the Dorcas in your Church.
• 2: Act and apply the spiritual insight you learn and start it
ASAP (As Soon as Possible) in your local Church.
• 3: You can’t give if you don’t have. Possess your alabaster
Jar and be willing to give it to Christ without hesitation,
because that is God’s design for you.
• 4: Dorcas Played a big role in the success and failures in
the Local Church.
