My Final Year Project - Individual Control Home Automation SystemMichael Olafusi
This project involves the design and construction of an individual control home
automation system using RS232, GSM technology and a microcontroller.
Home automation is the automatic or semi-automatic control and monitoring of
household appliances and residential house features like doors, gate and even the windows.
This project is a demonstration of how to design and build a multi purpose remotely
controlled system that can switch OFF and ON any electrical household appliance (including the security light), by dialling a phone already interfaced via RS232 to a microcontroller that controls a relay for the automatic switching on and off of the appliance and the phone will send a feedback short message service text indicating the new state of the appliance, whether switched ON or OFF.
The results of this project show that a microcontroller is a very powerful device for
building smart electronic devices that can automatically control electrical appliances, with little circuitry complexities and components.
SmartWheels | Mapping for AccessibilitySusan Oldham
Everyday, wheelchair users navigating across city streets, campuses, and pathways face obstacles due to inaccessible routes and changing terrain. Now, with SmartWheels, they can rely on real-time, personalized route directions.
The power of the SmartWheels system is that the wheelchair itself becomes an internet-connected sensor suite for the user. The wheelchair utilizes terrain-sensing technology, which determines the type of surface underneath the wheels as well as grade, elevation, and surrounding curbs and obstacles. Users can enter additional information about the environment to provide context to the collected data.
SmartWheels is an integrated system comprised of a SmartWheels Sensor Kit, smartphone app, and crowd-sourced accessible maps for any browser. The Connector Kit can be installed on any wheelchair and provides Internet and sensor capabilities directly to the wheelchair. After installing the Connector Kit, the person can track his or her route data, plus get or give recommendations for improved routes.

DYNAMICAL ANALYSIS OF SILO SURFACE CLEANING ROBOT USING FINITE ELEMENT METHODIAEME Publication
All mechanical systems are subjected to dynamic forces when they are in functioning. Thus a dynamical analysis has to be studied to determine the system behaviour. The vibration is of interest to study, due to its destructive or constructive effect. In the present era computational techniques are quite common and are very reliable as far as the modal analysis is concerned. In this work, the robot of silo cleaning is analysed for its vibration behaviour using finite element method (FEM).The robot was modelled and meshed in ANSYS. Modal analysis was conducted to calculate few initial natural frequencies. After carrying out the modal analysis, harmonic and transient analysis were done to see the response of the robot under dynamic loading. It was observed that robot is safe in its entire range of operation.

Abstract: Roughly 30.6 million individuals in the US have physical disabilities that affect their ambulatory activities; nearly half of those individuals report using an assistive aid such as a wheelchair, cane, crutches, or walker. Despite comprehensive civil rights legislation, many city streets, sidewalks, and businesses remain inaccessible. The problem is not just that street-level accessibility affects where and how people travel in cities but also that there are few, if any, mechanisms to determine accessible areas of a city a priori.
In this talk, I will describe our research developing novel, scalable data-collection methods for acquiring accessibility information about the built environment using a combination of crowdsourcing, computer vision, and online map imagery (e.g., Google Street View). Our overarching goal is to transform the ways in which accessibility information is collected and visualized for every sidewalk, street, and building façade in the world. This work is in collaboration with University of Maryland Professor David Jacobs and graduate students Kotaro Hara and Jin Sun along with a number of undergraduate students and high school interns.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Final project report on grocery store management system..pdfKamal Acharya
In today’s fast-changing business environment, it’s extremely important to be able to respond to client needs in the most effective and timely manner. If your customers wish to see your business online and have instant access to your products or services.
Online Grocery Store is an e-commerce website, which retails various grocery products. This project allows viewing various products available enables registered users to purchase desired products instantly using Paytm, UPI payment processor (Instant Pay) and also can place order by using Cash on Delivery (Pay Later) option. This project provides an easy access to Administrators and Managers to view orders placed using Pay Later and Instant Pay options.
In order to develop an e-commerce website, a number of Technologies must be studied and understood. These include multi-tiered architecture, server and client-side scripting techniques, implementation technologies, programming language (such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and MySQL relational databases. This is a project with the objective to develop a basic website where a consumer is provided with a shopping cart website and also to know about the technologies used to develop such a website.
This document will discuss each of the underlying technologies to create and implement an e- commerce website.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
