My city
Located at the equator line, San Francisco de
Quito, simply known as Quito, is the capital
city of Ecuador.

Sustainable Development
Quiteños lifestyle cannot be defined as
sustainable. Their consumption there are no real
alternatives to the majority of products and
consumers do not evaluate deeply the few
sustainable alternatives available. Recycling
programs and public transportation programs have
been established with no apparent success. Even
though there has been a general environmental
awarness of the population, resources are
abundant and the inhabitants of Quito have not felt
the need to change their consumption patterns.

fuels and use that money for

Quiteños behaviour has to change
from early stages. A considerable
effort has to be done with kids at
school but also some behaviours
can be modified by putting taxes
on certain unsustainable products
