Ideas Drafting
In this task we played our song that we have chosen to use for our final piece to our
class mates. They then gave us feedback on what we could do for our video or what
we could include.
- A poor person dreaming of things that are happening in the lyrics. Visual
representations of the lyrics.
- A split screen. On one side the character having an amazing day in paradise
and on the other side the same character having a normal day (everyday
lifestyle).
- Flashbacks
- Talking to the camera
- Friends having fun, running and laughing.
- Performance on stage and a dream sequence
- A character with big dreams but a really bad life- video shows his escape to
his dreams.
- Visuals of an acoustic performance.
- Cuts between performance and narrative.
- Rap performance
- Hip Hop conventions and locations for example a skate park.
- Surrounded by money or expensive items symbolising a rich life.
- Location of a rundown house and a rundown life and then something that will
contrast with the lyrics.
- Sat on wall with guitar performing
- Poor lifestyle but rich imagination
- Dance routine?
- Costumers that fit the stereotypical rapper.
- Walking towards the camera.
- Heartfelt lip sync
- Black and white in a big city.
- Walking down the road with money.
- Shots of instrument performance.
- Characters walks into his every day job and throws all of his paper work at the
boss and then goes and lives the life that he has been dreaming off.
I personally believe that the ideas that I have been given by my class mates are going
to prove very valuable when it comes to making my music video. There are a range
of different Ideas that I have here that will help me build a solid, creative idea. I
believe that these ideas that I have been given will come very useful because even if I
have an idea I want to use for certain in my video I can use these ideas as well and
combine them. If I use a combination of ideas than I can build a more creative idea
that will make my video a better standard.
