1. Location Recce
The locations I have chosen to film in is at a beach, an empty road in the forest, in a studio and
in a car. One reason I chose to filmat the beach is because it is a location associated with
summer, which is also a therefore a common location used within house music due to the feel
created by the music. A second reason is that it could be suggested to be a romantic setting
where couples visit for walks. Therefore as my music video is mainly based around a couple
some scenes will be of the couple flirting at the beach and just having fun together. Another
location I chose to filmin is quite an isolated area within in the forest. I did this because I want
to create the idea within my music video that they are on a road trip, having spontaneous
adventures together/with their friends. So, a road to seemingly ‘nowhere’ would be suitable for
a road trip where they don’t care where they are going. Additionally, as the actors will be alone
with few other strangers present in this isolated location it will be highlighted to the audience
that they have a strong bond together and are a close group of friends. There are also locations
which are within close proximity to where I live and therefore will be convenient when I need
to film. In relation to the actual story of my music video I will film the scenes of the couple
having good memories at the beach. This is because it is a location with bright colors (blues and
yellows) which have connotations of happiness; so this can reflect the mood of the actors. I also
hope to film on a sunny day as music of my chosen song’s genre is often released in summer. I
will film scenes of the couple having an argument in a car, in the forest and at night time. This is
because the isolation of this setting and the darkness of the shots will reflect the mood of my
actors and the video.
