WHAT IS HYPERLOOP
 Hyperloop is a new mode of transport being
both fast and inexpensive for people and goods.
 It is fifth generation mode of transport.
 It is proposed by ELON MUSK American
business magnete , iventor and investor.
 It is a high speed train that promise to travel at
twice the speed of an commercial air-craft.
 This system more likely to be a solution
today’s transportation system problems like
time, environmental impact and its cost.
 Hyperloop is an eco-friendly transportation
system as it doesn’t emit any carbon
compounds or other pollutants.
 It is a pneumatic tube based transportation
system in which a levitated capsule runs
through a tube at higher speeds up to 1200
kmph.
INTRODUCER
 ELON MUSK is the introducer of
the concept of hyperloop.
 He is the co-founer and CEO of
Tesla and Space X.
 He is a billonare.
 He funded many projects.
HOW IT RUNS
 1) The passenger capsules aren't propelled by air
pressure like in vaccuum tubes, but by two
electromagnetic motors. It is aimed to travel at a
top speed of 760 miles per hour.
 2) The tube tracks have a vaccuum, but not
completely free of air.
 Instead, they have low pressure air inside of them.
 The air compressor in front takes in and releases
the air from back and also it powers levitation.
 This process reduces air drag forces and make its
to achieve high speeds efficiently at lower power
compared to present high speed rail systems.
 The solar panels above tube helps to power the
motors.
 3) Air bearings helps to levitate the capsules above
the surface of the tube to reduce friction. In some
other designs magnetic levitation is also used to
lift the capsule in air.
 4) The Hyperloop uses a linear induction motor to
accelerate and decelerate the capsule. There are
several designs of hyperloop by different
companies as the concept is open source.

ROLE OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS IN
DESIGNING HYPERLOOP
 It is purely a Mechanical Enigineering art.
 Designing and analysis of components and systems for
various Propulsion systems.
 Working with internal teams and external team of
vendors to execute the job within time.
HYPERLOOP IN INDIA
 The first step under the agreement between Hyperloop and
the Indian government, announced by Hyperloop chairman
Sir Richard Branson.
 A deal has been signed that paves the way to build what
could be the world's first hyperloop track in the Indian state
of Maharashtra.
 A Route was proposed between Mumbai and Pune.
 The Pune-Mumbai hyperloop route will be an
economic catalyst for the region and create tens of
thousands of jobs for India's world-class
manufacturing, construction, service, and IT
sectors and aligns with Make in India initiatives.
 It takes just 25 minutes to travel from mumbai to
pune by hyperloop.
 This project will begin with a six-month in-depth
feasibility study.
 which will analyze and define the route,
examining issues such as the environmental
impact, economic and commercial aspects.
CONCLUSION
 Hyperloop contributes for an eco friendly
transport mode.
 It helps in faster transportation which carry
passengers as well as cargo.
 As it is still in developing stage there is a lot of
scope for its future development.
 Many companies are working on this project.
 Its experimental test was also conducted which
was success.
 For cleaner and greener transportation system
Hyperloop is necessary.

Hyperloop

  • 1.  NAME OF THE STUDENT : DINESH NAIDU KANDI  NAME OF THE COLLEGE: K L UNIVERSITY  BRANCH : B.TECH MECHANICAL ENGG.  YEAR : 1 st YEAR

  • 3. WHAT IS HYPERLOOP  Hyperloop is a new mode of transport being both fast and inexpensive for people and goods.  It is fifth generation mode of transport.  It is proposed by ELON MUSK American business magnete , iventor and investor.  It is a high speed train that promise to travel at twice the speed of an commercial air-craft.
  • 4.  This system more likely to be a solution today’s transportation system problems like time, environmental impact and its cost.  Hyperloop is an eco-friendly transportation system as it doesn’t emit any carbon compounds or other pollutants.  It is a pneumatic tube based transportation system in which a levitated capsule runs through a tube at higher speeds up to 1200 kmph.
  • 5. INTRODUCER  ELON MUSK is the introducer of the concept of hyperloop.  He is the co-founer and CEO of Tesla and Space X.  He is a billonare.  He funded many projects.
  • 6. HOW IT RUNS  1) The passenger capsules aren't propelled by air pressure like in vaccuum tubes, but by two electromagnetic motors. It is aimed to travel at a top speed of 760 miles per hour.
  • 7.  2) The tube tracks have a vaccuum, but not completely free of air.  Instead, they have low pressure air inside of them.  The air compressor in front takes in and releases the air from back and also it powers levitation.  This process reduces air drag forces and make its to achieve high speeds efficiently at lower power compared to present high speed rail systems.  The solar panels above tube helps to power the motors.
  • 8.  3) Air bearings helps to levitate the capsules above the surface of the tube to reduce friction. In some other designs magnetic levitation is also used to lift the capsule in air.
  • 9.  4) The Hyperloop uses a linear induction motor to accelerate and decelerate the capsule. There are several designs of hyperloop by different companies as the concept is open source.

  • 12. ADVANTAGES OF HYPERLOOP  It is immune to weather  It is sustainable (uses solar energy)  It is self powering  Eco Friendly  Earth quake resistant  It is faster than other means of transport
  • 13. ROLE OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS IN DESIGNING HYPERLOOP  It is purely a Mechanical Enigineering art.  Designing and analysis of components and systems for various Propulsion systems.  Working with internal teams and external team of vendors to execute the job within time.
  • 14. HYPERLOOP IN INDIA  The first step under the agreement between Hyperloop and the Indian government, announced by Hyperloop chairman Sir Richard Branson.  A deal has been signed that paves the way to build what could be the world's first hyperloop track in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
  • 15.  A Route was proposed between Mumbai and Pune.  The Pune-Mumbai hyperloop route will be an economic catalyst for the region and create tens of thousands of jobs for India's world-class manufacturing, construction, service, and IT sectors and aligns with Make in India initiatives.  It takes just 25 minutes to travel from mumbai to pune by hyperloop.  This project will begin with a six-month in-depth feasibility study.  which will analyze and define the route, examining issues such as the environmental impact, economic and commercial aspects.

CONCLUSION  Hyperloop contributes for an eco friendly transport mode.  It helps in faster transportation which carry passengers as well as cargo.  As it is still in developing stage there is a lot of scope for its future development.  Many companies are working on this project.  Its experimental test was also conducted which was success.  For cleaner and greener transportation system Hyperloop is necessary.
