The paper presents the design and FPGA prototyping of a 10/100 Mbps embedded Ethernet controller developed using Verilog-HDL, supporting various speeds and modes while conforming to the IEEE 802.3 standard. It details the architecture, functionalities, and simulation results of the Ethernet controller, emphasizing its application in embedded network systems. Future work includes exploring the implementation of gigabit Ethernet and offloading TCP/IP functions to improve network performance.
