The Lord Mayor's Appeal 2015-16 will raise funds to support improvements to a local children's hospital and community projects throughout the district. Half of the funds raised will go to the children's hospital to improve facilities and purchase equipment to make stays more comfortable for children and their families. The other half will be granted to local community organizations and projects through the "Spread a Smile" Appeal to support their work in enhancing projects and activities for residents without needing additional fundraising. The Lord Mayor encourages donations to support these worthy causes.

The film created with The Fetzer Institute, who made this project possible, recognizes Clayworks as an exemplar of love, forgiveness and compassion in craft.

The Welcome Cafe in Knutsford received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) in 2013, which is the highest award given to local volunteer groups in the UK. The QAVS was created in 2002 to recognize outstanding voluntary work in communities. Recent Cheshire winners also include DIAL House in Chester and Volunteers at the Anson Engineering Museum in Poynton. Any group providing social, economic, or environmental services to their local community can be nominated for this award, which assesses the benefit brought to the community and the group's standing within it. Nominations can be made by anyone and submitted online or via the Cheshire Lieutenancy website by September 30th.

They are also collecting donations for a teen yard sale and seeking volunteers to serve the children as they learn to serve others themselves.
