Abandoned Animal Rescue
There are many cats and dogs that need
a home, but have no one to take care of
them. That’s where Abandoned Animal
Rescue in Tomball comes in.
Eight years ago, Barbara Schulz, Angie
Fenton and James Gordon started the
no-kill shelter and low-cost spray/neuter
clinic in an old liquor store on Main Street.
At this time, they were sheltering about
20 cats and 20 dogs. Three years later,
they relocated to their present location, a
3,000-square-foot building with five acres
of land behind it for future expansion.
“We probably have about 50 dogs and 30
cats now,” said Barbara Schulz, co-found-
er of AAR. “We need more room and more
volunteers because our phone rings off
the hook with people trying to find a place
for an animal.”
AAR is an all volunteer staff and is in need
of more volunteers to work the front desk,
walk, clean and care for its animals.
