Based on the industry-leading matrix architecture, the OceanStor 18000 series provides the highest hardware specifications, comprehensive software and features, and deployment-facilitating bay-based delivery. With outstanding reliability, efficiency, and scalability, the OceanStor 18000 series delivers on-demand deployment and improved utilization, addressing challenges facilitating enterprise-class storage systems. The brand-new XVE storage operating system incorporates a rich mix of innovative features such as 4S expansion and 3D data flow.
2. The Smart Matrix architecture enables full switching and full virtualization. It carries the XVE operating system and virtualizes system resources into a storage pool. In the storage pool, RAID groups have no fixed disks. All disk data can be online adjusted and distributed.。
The 4S expansion technologies are scale-up, scale-out, scale-deep, and scale-in. Scale-up improves engine storage capacity and processing performance, scale-out enables linear performance increase as storage space grows, and scale-deep integrates third-party storage products. Besides the three common expansion means, the OceanStor 18000 series has its unique scale-in technology.
Scale-in leverages the global system resources to expand the host volume performance and capacity without adding extra hardware. In fact, scale-in is enabled by a series of software and technologies, including full virtualization, 3D data flowing, Smart QoS, and SmartThin. The OceanStor 18000 series delivers data based on service needs, balancing both data amounts and performance in the whole storage system.
3. 3D data flowing is another important technology that distinguishes the OceanStor 18000 from its competitive products. It achieves global data flowing by allowing data to flow horizontally, vertically, and across systems, and increases disk utilization by more than 3 times.
