demonstrate your ability to interpret statistics included in an article. The Final Project Data Analysis is a chance to show that you know how to choose the
correct statistics to analyze a set of data and calculate these using software.
Regardless of their field of interest, health professionals across disciplines need to be able to run basic biostatistical calculations to describe a set of data.
The Final Project Data Analysis reinforces these critical skills by asking you to conduct your own analysis of a small data set, explain the basic parameters of the

For this assessment, you will imagine you are a biostatistical consultant on a small study for a local health organization. In the Assignments Guidelines and

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. • This is arguably the most important section of your application
• Write early and circulate
• Length: 1 page. Format can vary but suggest:
– Intro paragraph – capture attention (HOOK/GAP/Critical Need)

Reducing patient exposure to unnecessary care is central to
improving patient outcomes and value. . . Because of the close
partnership between our UCLA Informatics co-Investigators
and the EHR vendor (Epic), the low-cost intervention that we
propose to implement and test would be easily available to all
Epic-based health systems, with potential to dramatically
reduce inappropriate pre-op testing across the nation.
EHRs are in their infancy, and we as a scientific community are
only beginning to learn how to use them as tools to promote
desired care processes.8 This proposed pragmatic trial would
break new ground in our understanding of how behavioral
economics approaches can be used to tamp down on care that
does not promote better patient outcomes.
