Informative Essay On Lung Cancer Epidemic
Lung Cancer: An Overview Lung cancer was once a very rare disease, this disease was so rare that
doctors thought that it was a once in a lifetime oddity. Towards the end of the 19th century cigarettes
and tobacco become popularised, causing a global lung cancer epidemic. In 2014, an estimated
221,000 adults in the United States will be diagnosed with lung cancer, (115,610 men and 105,590
women). Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the US. The one year survival rate is
44%, the five year survival rate is 17% (cancer). The cigarette is the deadliest artifact in the history of
humans. Cigarettes cause around 1 lung cancer death per 3 or 4 million smoked, this is why the
epidemic is so large today. Cigarettes cause about 1.5 million ... Show more content on

The survival advantage for those who stopped smoking was adjusted for demographics, disease stage
and other health characteristics. (science daily). 90 95% of lung cancers diagnosed are found in the
lungs because of the epithelial cells (medicine.net). Lung cancer is the most leading death in the US
and the world (medicine.net). There are many ways to prevent lung cancer, some ways are as follows:
reduce/quit smoking; cigarettes have over 600 chemical ingredients and when lit, over 4000 chemicals
are released into your body. After two to four months of being diagnosed with SCLC, more than half
of the patients die (medicine.net). However, after 5 years of diagnosis, patients survival rate is down to
5 10% (medicine.net). NSCLC has the best survival rate at 75% after 5 years (medicine.net). The
reason why the survival rate is so high for NSCLC is because the lung can be treated upon with
different procedures and the cancer spreads slowly throughout the body. The overall prognosis for
lung cancer is poor when compared with some other cancers. Survival rates for lung cancer are
generally lower than those for most cancers, with an overall five year survival rate for lung cancer of
about 17% compared to 67% for colon cancer, 90% for breast cancer, 81% for bladder cancer, and
over 99% for prostate cancer.

The Masters Of Social Work Program
Going into the Masters of Social Work program, I thought I had an idea of what I was going to do and
how to do it. Now that I am almost finished with my Spring semester, I was completely wrong.
Reflecting back from when I first started this program, I have changed a lot in many aspects of myself.
My professional self is has changed the most. Working with various different clients, backgrounds,
situations, mental and physical health issues, socioeconomic status, sexual orientations, ages, and
races have gave me great experiences that will carry on in my social work skill set. Doing my
internship, and now current job, in child protective services and my current internship at Davis Child
Shelter, were some of the best experiences a person can ask for wanting to be a professional social
worker. During my time in the master s program, there was been a couple of experiences in particular
that has carried along with me. While in child protective services, witnessing New Port, an area in
Danville, WV that is very poverty stickered, and seeing how people lived in extreme poverty,
substance abuse, high crime rates, and overall general violence that would occur there. Infrastructure
was horrible, the trailer homes the people living in were old, run down, and dirty, and the roads, if that
is what one would call that, were broken, asphalt split in half, potholes large as cars, and many parts of
the area were dirty roads. If one did not know the area, they would have not even

The income was 0.45 billion pounds which is 10% less than the previous year. This deterioration in
income was due to the lacking of technology combination (4K + Internet of Things) in products.
Market giants and most of the others medium size companies have introduced the IoT .
Internet of things is basically composed of two terms Network and Things (any object like devices,
machines, computers), so basically it s a concept where all objects are provided with unique identifiers
(e.g. NFC, RFID) and are capable of transferring data over the network mostly without human
interaction. It s mostly d2d (device to device) or m2m (machine to machine) interaction e.g. RFID
Tags, NFC Tags at bus stops, contactless cards, Oysters.
With the help IPv6 we will be able to connect almost every device possible because the one of the
advantages of IPv6 is that it provides uses a 128 bit address, allowing 2128, or approx. 3.4×1038
addresses.
With the help of this technology we can generate more and accurate information. Also, we can
monitor sensitive information on brief intervals. Furthermore, time and money can be saved as the
tagging technology is cheap and as this requires very less or no human interaction hence it s quick and
saves time.
But as this technology is new it faces problem like security, safety. Also, there are problems like

My First Episode Of Izombie Essay
I woke up at eight in the morning, I was ready and confident. I put the clothes I was going to wear in
the dry, so it can take off all the wrinkles. While I was waiting for my clothes to dry I made my self
something to eat. I made myself eggs with sausage and I was sitting down watching my favorite show
to keep my mind off of the event. It was too early as well, so I had spare time to do what I want to do.
Time passed and I was at my seventh episode of iZombie. I was really in to it, I checked the time and
it was eleven o clock.
I stopped at the right time to get ready. I went to go get my clothes, it was a button up shirt with slacks
and dress shoes. I got all the paper work I thought would be important to take and I took a pen to look
more interested and prepared. I started walking to the bus which came at twelve twenty in the
afternoon. I got on and took 20 minutes to the place. Before that I was on the phone listening to music
and making sure I had everything done in some of my college classes.
I was also thinking about my future how would I look like working in my dream job. I always wanted
to work as a social worker or help people out in some way. Especially teenagers, they have troubles in
their house hold that only they know and refuse to talk about. Not only them but little children as well.
I care more for little children because it hurts me seeing them get hurt because of what a parent does. I
lived in a place where my dad was abusive and learned to control

My Learning Styles Are Kinesthetic And Visual Essay
Name: Ngan Thu Bui
Frame Of Reference
Analysis Paper #1
1. My learning styles are kinesthetic and visual. When I learn to do something, I always skip the
instruction, tending to jump right in and try it. In terms of Mutual Intelligence, I scored 3.57 in Nature,
3.43 in Self, and 3.14 Musical. The MI score nearly mirrors who I am, except the language and
kinesthetic scores. It s true that I m not good at math and logical problems, but I do enjoy new
languages. I m bilingual now and I want to be a trilingual in the future. Therefore, I believe that my
score in linguistic and kinesthetic should be higher. There are some statements in the Assessment
results which I find accurate about me. For instance, Take photographs of what you find on your hike ,
You like working on projects on your own , and You enjoy humming or singing along with music. My
Keirsey Score is INFP which means my learning score is NF. I m not the type of person who logically
plans to do everything. I prefer to be led by feelings. It s also true that I m an introvert when I m
around people who I don t feel comfortable with. Actually, I change into another person when I m
with my family and friends. It s interesting that my boyfriend shares totally different traits in his
Keirsey Score; he s an ISTJ. While I focus on creativity and don t follow the plan, he tends to plan
everything in advance. Sometimes, the differences in our personalities create arguments. However, I
believe those differences have more

How Is Bilbo Baggins A Hero
Hobbit
There is more good in you than you know of child of the kindly West. Some courage and some
wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it
would be merrier world. J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit. The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, goes on an epic
expedition with 12 dwarves and a wizard to defeat a dangerous fire breathing dragon, who took the
dwarves home and gold. Hobbits, which is what Bilbo Baggins is, generally hate going on adventures

Bilbo Baggins is defined as a hero because he saves the dwarves from the gigantic spiders in a pitch
black forest, rescues them from the Elvenking s grasp, and bravely takes an extremely precious jewel,
that the dwarves have been searching for, and gave it to the elves and lake men to use as a bargain tool
to prevent them from fighting the dwarves.
Finding out that his friends were getting captured by gigantic spiders left Bilbo something else to
worry about besides lack of food and water. His heroic self came out again as he used himself as a
decoy, or bait, to lure the spiders far away from the dwarves so he can have time to free the dwarves
later. He used himself once more to help the dwarves run to a safe place while the spiders were slowly
closing in on them. This shows that Bilbo is self sacrificing and would do anything to keep his friends
which is an impotent trait for a hero to have.
Bilbo became a hero once more when the dwarves were captured by the elvenking and sentenced to
jail until they can tell him why they were venturing into his forest. Bilbo used a ring

What Are The Challenges Faced By African Americans In The...
The life of African Americans in the 1800 was so harsh and unfair. Their owners would treat them
cruelly and made them work long hours. They were not fed and had no sanitation which led to
malnutrition and disease. Many young girls also went through sexual abuse and owners wouldn t even
get prosecuted because they were the ones who ruled everything. They separated many families from
husbands, wife s, and children. Those who were not prepared suffered every day because they were
not with their families. Many of them never saw their family again. Two factors that prompted the
growth of the slave trade in half the century before the civil war were the cash value for slave
increased and the slave trade ended. This happened because the legal importation of slaves to U.s. was
ended in 1808. So, selling slaves became a huge business for brokers and auctioneers. Because they
could gain more money by selling the slaves rather than just getting another slave for one who works
better. Because the importation ended they had to start selling slaves locally. This made the slaves ...

Motorcycle, Membership, And Belonging Summary And Analysis
Kinship is an area we talked about extensively in class because it represents a huge part of many
people s lives. This ideal is found throughout and delegates the lives of many individuals throughout
thousands of cultures. In Motorcycles, Membership, and Belonging McCurdy says that if an Indian
couple were to come to the United States for the first time they might be, surprised by [the lack of]
American social relations. (McCurdy 2014:209) In this essay I will be describing how American views
on kinship and social relations vary from those of Indians through both personal experience and
learned information. First lets highlight what kind of roles kinship and social relations play in the lives
of these potential Indian tourists. Kinship groups, to Indians, are an essential part of life; kinship is
something that makes various decisions for an individuals life, some of those include: who you marry,
what you inherit, and your level of status in the family. Throughout most of India, people use
patrilineal descent to establish kinship; this means that only males are part of the descent group. In this
kind of descent extended family is an integral part of an individuals life because many generations all
live together under one roof. For example, one may grow up in a household with their grandparents,
uncles and their wives and children, and even older brother s wives and kids. This way of life keeps
familial land and resources all under one roof rather than spreading

Stillbirth Research Paper
A miscarriage, also known as spontaneous abortion, is the loss of the fetus before it is viable. About 15
20% of all pregnancies end in a miscarriage, often occurring during the first trimester. Miscarriages
may occur due to a fertilized egg failing to divide correctly, genetic abnormalities, maternal illnesses,
hormone imbalances, toxic chemicals, physical trauma or infections. Usually, however, the cause is
unidentified. A stillbirth refers to the death of a fetus after the twentieth week of pregnancy, but before
delivery. Approximately 1 in every 160 births is a stillbirth in the United States. In this situation, the
baby is born dead, often for no recognizable reason. Poor fetal growth, infections and umbilical cord

In your experiment is the Karo® hypertonic or hypotonic to the egg? The KARO syrup is hypertonic
to the egg therefore there is a lower concentration outside of the (in the solution) than inside of the
egg. So diffusion will occur here, meaning water will move from inside the egg to the outside in the
KARO solution. This is shown with the obvious size differences in the egg as time increases. The egg
becomes smaller and decreases in mass.
C. Historically certain colligative properties freezing point depression, boiling point elevation, and
osmotic pressure have been used to determine molecular mass. (Now there are instrumental methods
to determine this.) Of these three, osmotic pressure is the most sensitive and gives the best results.
Molecular mass can be found according the following equation:
Π = MRT
Where: Π = osmotic pressure,
M = molarity of solution,
R = the ideal gas constant (0.0821 L×atm/mol×K), and
T = Kelvin temperature.

5.15 mmHg. What is its molecular mass?
Since the gas constant, R, requires atmospheres as pressure units, we have to convert 5.15 mmHg to
atmospheres:
5.15 mm Hg * 1 atm/760 mm Hg = 0.00678 atm.
0.00678 atm = M (0.0821) (273 + 25 =

Wearing The United States Army Uniform
Introduction
It is being known that clothes make a man or a woman and by all means, this is a true statement
regarding the United States military. Soldier s uniforms symbolize everything from branch, rank,
position, loyalty, and prestigious. The image of a sharp outfit creates a psychological, moral booster
and spirit de corps of Soldiers. As a general rule, Soldiers are identified by their uniforms. Each
uniform has multiple components that have a legacy and a history behind. Although Soldiers have
pride in wearing the United States Army Uniform, a few of them don t know the origin and purpose of
each part of the uniform. Every part has its purpose, and it was strategically made based on the
necessities in the battlefield.

Uniforms design, colors, and attributes were influenced of European armies.
The Camouflage
Historically, military uniforms were primarily about identity, pride, and recognition; however, at the
beginning of the twentieth century, military uniforms become less decorative and more attuned to the
need of the Soldiers This was the though when it comes to camouflage. A Soldier s life might depend
on it. Camouflage was first understood by hunters as far as from prehistoric time. These hunters
observed and understood how an animal had a protection beyond just teeth and claws. They
discovered that most animals could mix it with a natural background such as trees, leaves, and rocks,
make them undetectable to other animals and humans. The military has little used at the beginning of
these techniques. There are few examples of the use of camouflage in ancient and medieval warfare
because camouflage was rare at that time. A well known example of camouflage was during the 17th
century when William Shakespeare described the medieval warriors that were ready to march on
Macbeth at his fortress at Dunsinane (Newark, Newart, Borsarello, 1996).
The Headgear
The Director of the Non Commissioned Officer Heritage and Education Center, Mr. Mark R. Henry,
stated that historically, nations copy the design of the uniform from the most successful units in
combat and without a doubt, the United States Army did that.

increase in violence portrayed through the media. Media violence is believed to be causing aggression

In experiment one, fifty men and fifty women that were undergrad psychology students served as
subjects. Ten subjects of each gender were randomly assigned to see one of five videos that varied in
violent content. The main dependent variable in the first experiment was the number of aggressive
thoughts listed by the subject immediately after watching the video. The second dependent variable
was the subject s violence rating of the video they viewed. Immediately after viewing the video, each
subject filled out a set of 5 point rating scales indicating the degree to which the video had been
enjoyable, amusing, realistic, and violent. They found that, aggressive thoughts and violence ratings
both increased with the level of violence in the video which supported the hypothesis. Experiment 2
allowed a test of the replicability of the findings of Experiment 1 by including ratings of videotape
violence and listing of thoughts following observation of the tapes. This time, however, each subject
was tested individually in a small cubicle. The procedure was very similar except just prior to
observing a videotape, the subject was given the adjective checklist, and baseline blood pressure and
pulse rate were measured. During the showing of the video, the subject s blood pressure and pulse rate
were measured three times during a 2 min interval. After viewing the videotape, the subject listed their

Customer Satisfaction Literature Review

1.1 Customer Satisfaction
1.1.1
1. LITERATURE REVIEW
This literature review explores the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty
and how do these theories affect businesses in hospitality industry. Hence, there are many researchers
that have studied about these two concepts that will help people to better understand about the two
theories.
Why does customer satisfaction is very important in business? This is because all businesses need
customers and if the customer is satisfied with the item he or she bought, it will help to increase the
market of the business itself. As that particular customer will help to try and promote the products to
their relatives or friends. Customer satisfaction basically is the key objective in service operations
representing an affective self evaluation based on price and quality trades off (Roest and Pieters,1997).

Study indicates that satisfaction basically consists of cognitive and affective variables. Cognitive
measures include disconfirmation and expectations (Oliver,1980), also perceived performance (Tse
and Wilton, 1998). Other measures include equity and performance (Oliver and DeSarbo,1988),
fairness (Oliver and Swan,1989), expectancy disconfirmation (Oliver and Burke, 1999), need
fulfilment (Oliver, 1995), and price acceptance or desire to pay (Huber et al., 2000). This
measurement can lead to the discovery of affective variables by trying to improve satisfaction. There
are two affective variables that Westbrook (1987) found. One is positive affect the other is negative
affect. He stated that both positive and negative affect are linked to post purchased word of mouth.
Thus, this makes that there s a relationship between quality and customer

An Explanation Of Why Sociologists Are Interested On Class
Class is important as it can determine various aspects that will have a significant impact and influence
on how people s lives are shaped. Feminists have argued for other things to be included such as social
divisions to show how they intersect with class. Economic inequalities can have an impact on class as
they can determine a person s status, wealth, income and lifestyle. Class is important as social
inequalities exists amongst the rich and poor. Important social factors include poverty, health and
education. A person s identity is just as important as their class. People may face discrimination due to
their identity, whether that may be due to their gender, age, ethnicity or disability. Social mobility is
where people are in a different social class now from which they were brought up in. However
sociologists argue that class is less important in contemporary society today than it once used to be.
The purpose of this essay is to provide an explanation on why sociologists are interested in class. This
assignment will define what class is and to what extent class matters. Other social divisions will be
explored in this assignment to show how they intersect with class. The social divisions which intersect
with class which will be discussed include economic and social inequalities, social mobility and
identity. The beliefs from well known theorists, Karl Marx and Max Weber who disagreed on the
nature of class, will also be included to support the main points which are

Orpha Queen Symbolism
Examples of symbolism can be found throughout the novel The Orphan Queen. The first example of
symbolism involves the Ospreys, a ragtag gang of children living in the streets of Skyvale. When
wraith began to become a major problem across the realms, the Indigo Kingdom initiated the Wraith
Alliance, a treaty they wanted all of the realms to sign that would ban the use of magic. Aecor, the
kingdom Wil was once the princess of, was the only realm that refused to sign. Thus, the Indigo
Kingdom invaded and took over in what was known as the One Night War. All of the adult nobility of

a very tight knit group, but Patrick Lien is the unopposed leader. This shows another similarity to their
avian counterparts, as the oldest osprey of a clutch of eggs will dominate the others (Osprey). Osprey
birds have recently made a significant comeback in numbers, since the chemical DDT was banned

Purpose: To practice direct and indirect measurement
Introduction: Do you think you could measure the average thickness of a sample of M Ms without
directly measuring selected M Ms? The answer is yes, and in this activity you will make direct and
indirect measurements of the thickness of M Ms. You will compare the results and evaluate the
reliability of each method of measurement. Be sure to view the tutorial on the proper use of the vernier
caliper. Please re visit the information on when to cite sources.
Since a graduated cylinder is usually used for liquid measurement, students think they need to put
water in the cylinder. This is not true for this activity. The graduated cylinder will be kept clean and
dryfor this activity. It is also important to remember that in the metric system, one mL is the same
volume as one cubic centimeter (1 ml = 1 cm3).
Materials: none
Pictures will be provided of the experiment. Materials used in obtaining the pictures are a bag of
regular (NOT peanut) M Ms (about 8 oz), plastic vernier caliper, and 100 ml plastic graduated
cylinder.
Procedure:
Start with a clean and dry 100 ml plastic graduated cylinder. Add M Ms until the graduated cylinder is
about 3/4 full. Gently tap the graduated cylinder to settle the M Ms. Read the volume of M Ms in cm3

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Analysis
Prions are infectious protein agents that cause aggregation of the peptide PrPC and form large amyloid
fibrils. These fibrils resist proteoysis and can have a detrimental effect of the functionality of cells and
ultimately cause their death. (3). Misfolded PrPC will form stable aggregates denoted as PrPSc. PrPC
is a soluble protein that is present in all organism whose function is still not totally clear (3). When
PrPc converts to PrPSc there is an increase in the number of β sheets in the protein, which can allow
for interaction and stacking of other misfolded PrPSc proteins, causing an amyloid fibre to form (5).
One of the most relevant prions with regards to human health is Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease (CJD).CJD
is a neurodegenerative disease that causes rapid deterioration over a few months (1).Degeneration can
lead to personality changes, depression, memory loss, blindness and many other symptoms (1).Before
the identification of variant CDJ, sporadic cases of CJD made up 85% of the CJD cases, followed by
familial CDJ causing 5 15% of cases, and the remaining cases contributed to iatrogenic CJD. I will be

The Barriers Of Self Driving Cars
The Roadblocks to Legalizing Self Driving Cars in America
An examination of the legal liabilities surrounding the developing technology involved in autonomous
vehicles in the United States of America
By Hannah Say
Intro to Business Law
Wesner
November 17, 2015 Introduction
This paper will analyze the key legal issues with respect to legalizing self driving cars in the United
States of America. The legal issues to be analyzed will include...
How many people say they would buy a self driving car (Statista)
Percentage of accidents attributed to human error (NHTSA Report)
Researchers estimate that driverless cars could, by midcentury, reduce traffic fatalities by up to 90
percent. (McKinsey Report) Which means that, using the number of fatalities in 2013 as a baseline,
self driving cars could save 29,447 lives a year. (Atlantic, 30000)
Liabilities around self driving cars also include potential negative economic effects, ethical arguments,
privacy and security, will not be considered due to space constraints
The technology is so new that the legal definitions of what constitutes a autonomous vehicle is still
being clarified
Southwestern
The benefits of autonomous vehicles include reduction in frequency of crashes because further
automation is expected to save more lives ... Automatic braking when a car detects an obstacle will
reduce rear end collisions, and fully driverless cars will dramatically reduce human error, which

Understand The Power Of Negative Language Scenarios
To have the students understand the power of negative words.
To have the students think about negative words and how they would feel if they were in a situation
when negative words are used against them.
To have the students learn that negative words are unnecessary and that positive words should be used
instead of negative words.
The students will:
Read through the four scenarios. The students will answer the two questions in groups of 3 4 students
that go with the scenarios. Then as groups, the students will discuss the question which includes how
they would feel if they were the person in the situation who had the negative language used toward
them, and if they could change the words used how would they change the words to make the person
feel good.

Process Safety in Oil and Gas Operations- Past, Present...
PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT IN OIL AND GAS OPERATION: PAST, PRESENT AND
FUTURE DIRECTION
1.0 Introduction
Process safety management system (PSM) has received greater attention in the oil and gas industry
because of the major memorable accidents that have occurred within the industry and the severity of
their impacts on stakeholders. The Bhopal gas tragedy which occurred in December 1984 from the
release of methyl Isocyanates (MIC) where over two thousand people died and the Flixborough
disaster which also happened on 1974 where about twenty eight workers were killed and thirty six
workers suffered from serious injuries alerted the essence of PSM in the operations of not only oil and
gas activities but in other process industries (Hackitt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, due to poor process safety culture, BP didn t have a process safety audit system which could
have revealed all the inherent hazards and risk associated with their operations and for this matter the
accident at the Texas City refinery happened (Baker et al 2007).It is obvious that the poor process
safety culture made management and operators in the oil and gas sector to under estimate the role
process failure could lead to accidents.
Again, USW (2007) reports that most Oil and Gas refineries in the United States practice bad process
safety systems where most refineries used atmospheric vents on their process units which accounted to
the release of untreated flammable and dangerous substances. It continues to report that work tool
trailers were located closely to process units thereby exposing them to dangerous conditions and also
permitted unqualified workers to work in risky areas during operations. Moreover, plants were
modified without thorough risk assessments, failure to conduct pressure test after installing new
pipework at Flixborough (Hackitt 2010) was another poor process safety practice. This poor process
safety practice was the root cause of the explosion. It can be said that the poor practices of process
safety was due to unawareness that processes could go wrong.
2.3 Complex Processes and Plants Design According to Hopkins (2007) the complexity of processes
and plants design caused process related accidents to happen.

The Technique of Grafting in Agriculture
I. INTRODUCTION
The technique of grafting dates back to the beginning of agriculture. Although it can be labor
intensive, grafting has continued to be used in fruit and nut trees because of the immense benefits.
Different plants produce different qualities of fruits and nuts, and not always consistently. And,
because tree fruits are nearly impossible to reproduce from cuttings, grafting has become the most
popular technique for fruit tree propagation. Grafting helps to produce a superior and highly valued
crop (Hartmann, Kester, Davies, Geneve, 2011). New markets continue to require grafted and budded
plants for improved plant quality, fruit yield, superior forms, and better adaptation to greater
ecological ranges (Hartmann et al. 2011).
This paper will take a closer look at the technique of grafting, where it originated from, its
developments over time, and the impact it has had on agriculture.
II. DEFINITION Grafting can be described as the natural or deliberate fusion of plant parts so that
vascular continuity is established between them and the resulting genetically composite organism
functions as a single plant (Mudge, Janick, Scofield, Goldschmidt, 2009). In other words, it involves
taking part of one tree and attaching it to part of another tree. For example, a section of a stem with
leaf buds might be inserted into the stock of a tree. Many times one plant is selected for its roots,
called the stock or rootstock, and the other plant is selected for

African American Muslim
For the American Muslim
Several years back, W.E.B. Du Bois coined a term double consciousness. He used to term to describe
the phenomenon of how African Americans lived their lives with two different scripts or how to
behave. The first script, was the one that applied to anyone regardless of race or identity. The second
was unique to blacks, who often felt obliged to view themselves through the lens of the dominant
white group. Du Bois s ideology was absolutely correct. Not just for the African American but also for
most other minority groups as well. Nowadays, I feel like I go through the same phenomenon myself
as an American Muslim.
Although today s American Muslim, unless he or she is racially black, doesn t face double
consciousness through the lens of Du Bois for the African American, we do face the same form of
confusion and struggle to be less of ourselves and more of what needs to be seen. Even when what
most of us are in reality isn t harmful. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There has been an overall increase in the tendency of fellow Americans to look at muslims through the
distorted glasses of Islamophobia a term used to define the dislike of or prejudice against Islam or
Muslims.
Moreover, the status quo for Muslims in America, literally questions American Muslim s loyalty to the
country. It is utterly upsetting to see how so many American Muslims are viewed as simply Muslims.
In an interview a few days earlier Noor Tagouri, a Muslim T.V. Anchor and Journalist was basically

American Persuasive Speech
America is described as the land of the free, people want to live here, are willing to leave everything
they ve ever known for a shot at the American dream. However there s some problems in this country.
Kneeling for the anthem is a disrespectful and undignified thing to do. People have risked their lives,
some even have lost their lives, fighting for our freedom. The mass shootings in America is gruesome.
Innocents have died because a couple of people want to pull a silly stunt.¨ All people care about
nowadays is their social status. Children have changed dramatically over the years because of what
their social status is. America is becoming unsafe, generation Z defines being an American as kneeling
for the anthem, mass shootings, and social status. Our generation is heading down to a path of failure,
we need to turn back around and improve our country for many more generations to come.
Recently, there has been an outburst in the NFL, the players have been kneeling for the anthem. It s
their decision to do such a thing but it s disrespectful and rude to kneel during the anthem because you
have a different opinion. In Aug. 2016, Colin Kaepernick sat on the bench while the national anthem
played during a preseason game for the San Francisco 49ers. Kaepernick told the media he chose to sit
to protest the oppression of people of color in the United States and ongoing issues with police

Hamhocks And Flakehead Case Summary
Hamhocks and Flakehead would be able to show that CBC and its reporter Dan Blather invaded
privacy by intrusion by looking at the elements of intrusion, the expectations of privacy, the areas of
concern, private places and posing. First off, the elements of intrusion state that one may be liable for
invasion of privacy if one intentionally intrudes. In this case, it can be determined that Blather
intruded on the workspace and privacy of Hamhocks and Flakehead because he was sent there as part
of his reporting job. Blather did follow the defined elements of intrusion, which also include intruding
upon the solitude or seclusion of another or his private affairs and concerns in a way that would be a
highly offensive to the reasonable person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This section also states that since employees and patrons of businesses, such as Hamhocks and
Flakehead, have privacy rights, they can sue for intrusion. Areas of concern under intrusion include
surreptitious recording and photographing, which is exactly what Blathers did. While Nirvana allows
the use of hidden microphones, it prohibits the surreptitious photographing of people in places where
they have a reasonable expectation of privacy. As explained earlier, the plaintiffs had a reasonable
expectation of privacy since they were in a closed office space talking to someone they believed to be
a coworker, and Blathers was found to be photographing the area. Lastly, looking at posing, it s easy
to see that Blathers is at the wrong here. By posing as an employee instead of a reporter, Blathers can
face charges such as fraud along with intrusion. Posing goes along with intrusion, and since the first
amendment does not protect reporters who break the law to gather news, Blathers would be found
guilty of

Mass Media Influence On American Culture
Major developments in the evolution of Mass Media
The new era of technology led to major developments in the evolution of mass media, worldwide. In
our society, we originally communicated orally before the Internet and wireless devices existed.
Individuals relied on traditional forms of mass media, such as the television, radio, newspapers, and
magazines, to attain knowledge of the outside world. Thereafter, the development of new forms mass
media evolved, and we were introduced to the Internet and other wireless communication devices such
as IPads and tablets, smart phones and social media sites. Regardless of the rise and fall in popularity
of certain forms of mass media, the evolution of mass media influenced the American culture greatly.
Mass Media influence on American culture
The evolution of mass media has affected our social institutions: family, religion, morality and
education, on an unprecedented scale. For most of us in the American culture, the new forms of mass
media are entwined with both of our personal and professional lifestyles. Understanding how the
development of these forms of mass media has been and continues to influence our American culture
is vital. It will help us appreciate the role media plays in our life and will also help us to be more
informed as citizens, consumers, and employees. Barnett, 2004 noted that The Internet is the decisive

The Stereotypes Of Top Gear
In 1997 the first episode of Top Gear was launched, at that time it was a conventional motoring
magazine show. However, after the 2002 relaunch, the show has made a huge transformation into a
more humorous and controversial show. With an estimated 350 million views per week in 170
different countries, Top Gear is a fine example of how mass media is used to persuade and inform
large audiences, conveying many ideas both motor related, and non motor related. The show has been
made famous by three iconic presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, for
their obnoxious manner and use of language, speaking their minds without thinking twice about
offending any potential viewers. Over the years, their comments have offended multiple racial groups,
from American to Germans, as well as viewers of different genders.

A Lesson Before Dying
I read a historical fiction novel about racism called A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines.
Gaines was a was an African American man who was born in 1933 and grew up on a plantation in
Louisiana. He earned 50 cents a day picking potatoes at the age of nine. By the age of 15, he moved to
California with his aunt and that s when his passion for reading grew stronger. Disappointed to find
that none of the books he read had nothing to do with the world he knew, he decided to write some
stories himself (Magnier). Therefore, the main themes of his works come from his childhood. His first
few famous novels were published around the 1970 s: Of Love and Dust (1967) and The
Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (1971); Gaines received the U.S. National Book Award for A

were conflicts between characters and also conflicts between a character and himself. The plot was
also very good because it not only showed me what times were like back in the day, but it also taught
me an important lesson (hence the title of this paper) that applies to today s society. The plot was fluid
and played out nicely throughout the entire book, even during the chapter dedicated to Jefferson s

Life In Industrialized Cities In The 19th Century
All change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end (Sharma). Change is what
helps improve the world we live in. During the Industrial Revolution in the eighteenth and nineteenth
centuries, the way people live was drastically changing. In the beginning, living conditions in cities
were terrible, but as regulations were put into effect and as time passed, these living conditions greatly
improved. Life in industrialized cities was an improvement over life in the country as a result of the
Industrial Revolution because of improvements in transportation, working conditions, and the creation
of job opportunities.

Workers in the cities were unhappy with the working conditions and decided they needed to do
something about it: Organized into strong unions and large political parties, workers were able to
campaign for changes in the law (Clare 48). Workers were able to unite in the form of unions. These
unions fought for better working conditions which led to laws improving working conditions. At first,
city life was extremely poor. This was completely changed with new laws and regulations: Laws were
passed requiring safety standards in factories, setting minimum age limits for young workers,
establishing schools for children whose parents both worked, and creating other standards for the
protection of workers (Newton). As a result of poor working conditions, restrictions were created
which improved working conditions. This made life in the cities better than life in the country because
most of the jobs were located in the cities and these improved working conditions led to better job

I believe the improvement of my students is attributed to the improvement of my skills in the above
mentioned areas of classroom management.
Even though improvement has been made, there is still more work to be done. Two areas that need
improvement deal with peer mediation techniques and forming successful partnerships with parents.
The first seldom happens and the latter happens with less frequency I had hoped for in finding support
for student learning and behavior. One example where peer mediation would be effective is conflict
between students arising from something done or said to them. For instance, a child approached me to
say someone hit them when in fact the other child was trying to remove a bug off the accusers back.
This misunderstanding or miscommunication consumes time away from instruction and does not
empower children to solve conflicts correctly on their own. Another area I want to focus on is
establishing more partnerships with parents. Even though I did establish a handful of partnerships by e
mailing parents activity pictures of their child throughout the year, I feel much more can be
accomplished. The quality of such a relationship as reported by Gurland and Evangelista (2015)
predicts the outcome of future achievements. Thus, the following are SMART goals created to
strengthen the areas pertaining to peer mediation and parent relationships. By September 5, 2016,

Psychoactive Drugs Affects The Body
Psychoactive drugs are a substance that change and affect the consciousness, mood, behavior of the
person taking these drugs. The powerful effect that psychoactive drugs have on the brain is caused by
the chemicals in these substances that can replicate the chemicals found in the brain. These chemicals
are designed to be able to imitate the functions of chemicals in the brain; they act primarily in the
central nervous system affecting the neurons in the brain. There is an interruption in communication of
neurons which affects our bodies in different ways; some can stimulate activity in the CNS, while
others can depress and decrease the activity. There are many different types of drugs that can change
the brain chemistry in this way, two of these are narcotics and stimulants. Psychoactive drugs change
the way people that take them feel about things, narcotics in particular change the way people feel

Agatha Christie s Family Background: Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born on 15th September 1890
Agatha was born at house called Ashfield, in Torquay, South Devon, a large house set in 2 acres of
land Her father was Frederick Alvah Miller (1846 1901), an American stockbroker with an
independent income, but he died when Agatha was just 11 years old Her mother, Clarissa Clara
Margaret Miller (nee Boehmer) was the daughter of a British army captain (1855 1926) Agatha was
the youngest of three children Her elder brother, Louis Montant Monty Miller was 10 years older
(1880 1929) Her sister was Margaret Frary Madge Miller, 11 years her senior (1879 1950) Growing
Up Education: Due to the age gap between the siblings, Agatha s elder brother and sister were away at
school whilst she was growing up, and so she had to learn to entertain herself She later attributed her
furtive imagination to a lonely and bored childhood Agatha never went to school and was educated at
home by her mother and occasional part time tutors. This was characteristic of the period when mainly
only boys went to school, although Agatha s mother, who was not one to follow convention, had sent
her elder sister Madge to school Agatha s mother had intended that Agatha should be able to read by
the age of 8, but by 5 Agatha had already taught herself! Her mother encouraged her to write poetry
and short stories she had some of these poems published in The Poetry Review, but was less

Rhetorical Analysis Of Florence Kelley
On July 22, 1905, Florence Kelley, a United States social worker and reformer, delivered a speech
before the convention of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Disgusted by the sweatshop conditions children had to endure, Kelley worked diligently
to pull for child labor laws. Her brilliant rhetorical approach is to stop the unjust treatment of children
through the enfranchisement of women. To convince the members of the convention, Kelley
implements repetition and vivid imagery to persuade the mothers and the teachers in the crowd to urge
the working men to help aid their cause. Kelley begins her persuasion by reiterating the idea of
children working while we sleep as a way to reveal the horrendous situation the public refuses to
correct. Thousands of youths, with ages ranging from six to ten, begin to work as soon as they are tall
enough to reach the bobbins, laboring away in unsafe conditions when they should have been in
school getting a much needed education. A regular occurrence for a working youngster would consist
of a twelve to fourteen hour day with a one hour total break for little or no pay. Occasionally, they
toiled nineteen hard hours a day and were given the same minimal breaks; though this was a little bit
extreme, it was not uncommon for the children who worked in factories. While operating in these
unsanitary and hazardous conditions, the young children were more than likely to suffer injuries and
illnesses. They

Similarities Between West Runner And Blade Runner
The series Westworld, set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past explores an
amusement park intended for rich vacationers to live their primal fantasies, no matter how noble or
depraved. The park is occupied by hosts, which are mechanical artificial beings programmed and
constructed to be indistinguishable from human beings both physically and intellectually. The series
follows the stories of different individuals in the amusement park both the vacationers, hosts and
scientists. In contrast, Blade Runner is set in the year 2019, where Los Angeles has developed into a
dark and depressing metropolis filled with decay. The film follows Richard Deckard, a retired Blade
Runner , a job concerned with the assassination of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The constant manipulation of the hosts by scientists symbolises the immense god like control over
hosts, for example, the continual memory wipes or the decommissioning of a host once it is killed or
escapes the loop. In Blade Runner the only means of control is the limited lifespan granted to
replicants, however, as they are biological sentients unlike hosts they have free will and begin to
question their existence and search for answers. Control is a significant difference between the two
artificial beings, hosts are preprogramed, in essence, they are programmed to speak and act within the
constraints of their given role, with minor improvisations, and this role referred to as a loop can be
modified at any time by a technician. In contrast, replicants in Blade Runner have the freedom to
think, imagine and remember, however, they are set to expire after a certain period. In comparison to
human beings, both of these artificial beings are superior, both intellectually and physically as hosts
are essentially robots and the replicants are genetically modified beings.
Blade Runner presents artificial beings as mortals with enhanced mental and physical capabilities
juxtaposed to Westworld s androids that are presented as immortal beings reborn after death with new
personalities and memories. Ironically, in both texts the perfect and flawless attributes of the artificial
beings are highlighted in

Political Parties And The Democratic Party
When looking at the history of US political parties, and classifying these parties into distinct party
systems, five separate periods emerge leading up to the current party system. When classifying these
party systems, it is important to look at characteristics such as the number of major parties, how these
parties seek to gain support, and how the parties organize themselves. The earliest American parties
were relatively centralized organizations that represented elite level concerns. They formed mainly at
the national level, with low levels of grassroots connections. The first national party to come to
prominence was the Federalist Party, who were opposed by the Democratic Republican Party. The
main cleavage that divided these parties was the degree to which the federal government should be
centralize power. With the Federalist Party arguing for a stronger role and the Democratic Republican
Party supporting greater rights for the states. Both the modern day Democrats and Republicans are the
result of a fracturing of the Democratic Republican Party. Internal conflict caused by the expansion of
the country and the issue of slavery caused the party to split and form the Democrats and with the
remaining faction joining with the Whig Party to Oppose the Democrats. Further division on slavery
caused the Whigs to also fracture, giving rise to the Republican Party, who arose as the anti slavery
faction of the party. During the period following the US Civil war, strong regional

Responsibility In Animal Farm
And so almost before they knew what was happening, the rebellion had been successfully carried
through: Jones was expelled, and the Manor Farm was theirs. this quote from the novel Animal Farm
represents when during the russian revolution riots broke out in Russia because of Tsar s unjust rule.
Tsar(The Emperor of russia before 1917) was forced to abdicate. Tsar was a very unfair leader (just
like Mr.jones) and Russia s minorities became hard to control under his domination. When his brother
(Michael Alexandrovich) refused to rule, over 300 years of Romanov dynasty ended. In animal farm
the author George Orwell uses persuasiveness of the leaders and gullibility of the followers to
contribute to theme:loss of freedom and equality in order to show even after the revolution animal
farm fell back into tyranny, dictatorship, inequality ,and subservience.
Although the animals at Manor Farm had a revolution they quickly fell right back into tyranny which
led to loss of freedom and equality. After Mr. Jones was expelled two pigs Snowball and Napoleon
became the leaders of the farm. Soon after the revolution Napolean expelled Snowball! Unfortunately
Napoleon did not have the animal s best interest at heart. Three hens who had been the ringleaders in
the attempted rebellion over the eggs now came forward and stated that snowball had appeared to
them in a dream, and incited them to disobey Napoleon s orders. They too were slain on the spot.
When the animals expelled Mr. Jones they

Camera Phones Trigger Controversy Essay
Camera Phones Trigger Controversy
When Catherine Zeta Jones appeared in a television commercial, she was one of the first to advertise
one of the newest additions to a cell phone: the camera phone. The purpose of the commercial was to
show how convenient, compact and useful such an apparatus could turn out to be. The theory is quite
simple, basically combining a cell phone and a digital camera into one gadget. Major cellular
companies like Nokia, Samsung and Sanyo observed how popular digital cameras were becoming, and
decided to integrate it with one device most Americans find a necessity and not a luxury; the cell
phone. No sooner than the phones hit the market, did the stores sell out of the phone. In 2002 An

Lets us start by examining the area of compatibility. Gone are the days of old where you need to carry
separate items. Now, everything is integrated into one nice piece. A phone can also be a camera, and
can also be used for email, games, a phone book and an alarm clock. If we pattern the growth of
technology, we can see all things: printers, fax machines, scanners, etc. have become multifunctional
(Zdnet). The cellular telephone is no exception, and the camera phone is proof of that. Multi
functional devices are good for companies because they can focus on primarily one product, and it is
good for the consumer, as the consumer needs not buy multiple devices.
So what would possess cellular companies to invest millions to integrate a digital camera and a
cellular phone? Its is basically a quest to make both the consumer and the manufacturer better off than
they were before. For the consumer, it is a quick and easy way to take snapshots in an instant, and
send them to the desired people. Since people carry a phone on them wherever they go, now a camera
will follow them. Imagine witnessing a crime in the middle of the street, where usually no surveillance
cameras exist. A person using a camera phone can capture the criminal s picture, and aid police in his
arrest.

Gender In Advertising
Taking a look at the details can make a big impact in what you think you are seeing. On the outside,
we see sexes that are the biological differences in individuals, but what about the concept of gender?
The expectations that society creates about men and women establish these levels of association
people gather together. As these roles come about, people begin to grow accustom and oblivious to the
reoccurring presence. In the current era, media continues to expand all over the areas of daily living.
One of the major forms of communication is advertising, which relays information to society about a
certain product, location, or trending topic. Whether it be on television, the radio, or the internet,
gender is intertwined into these forms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only is gender forcefully depicted over the course of life, but also the level of intensity in the
advertisements is seen quite often. Sexual influence is used abundantly towards men, and businesses
find a way to incorporate this factor in almost anything. One of the more gentle ads is the M M pin
that has the green candy taking off her outer shell. The sex appeal from the candy gives off a vibe to
men that if they purchase this product, they will be satisfied. Not only is it seen through a cartoon
candy, but in real life women too. The intensity increases for products that more older men would see.
As seen on television, the well known Hardee s commercials utilize women as a way to pair burgers
with romance. These commercials vary in magnitude, but one of the more vulgar ones is the all natural
burger. The main girl appears to be naked throughout the commercial, and gives off seductive vibes
that put the male actors in a trance. Curiosity grows as in continues to stream, and at the end the
audience see that the girl is clothed, rather in a skimpy outfit, with of course, the burger. Another pin
that displays similar intensity is the Charlotte Brillat Savarin cheese ad, which has a girl mostly naked,
only covered by an apron. Even though the advertisement is for cheese, the woman adds a way to gain
the attention of men, who socially are viewed to desire sex appeal. All in all, the pins reveal that the
gender identity for real men is aimed at intimate relationships with

Informative Essay On Lung Cancer Epidemic Lung Cancer: An Overview Lung cancer was once a very rare disease, this disease was so rare that doctors thought that it was a once in a lifetime oddity. Towards the end of the 19th century cigarettes and tobacco become popularised, causing a global lung cancer epidemic. In 2014, an estimated 221,000 adults in the United States will be diagnosed with lung cancer, (115,610 men and 105,590 women). Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the US. The one year survival rate is 44%, the five year survival rate is 17% (cancer). The cigarette is the deadliest artifact in the history of humans. Cigarettes cause around 1 lung cancer death per 3 or 4 million smoked, this is why the epidemic is so large today. Cigarettes cause about 1.5 million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (science daily). 90 95% of lung cancers diagnosed are found in the lungs because of the epithelial cells (medicine.net). Lung cancer is the most leading death in the US and the world (medicine.net). There are many ways to prevent lung cancer, some ways are as follows: reduce/quit smoking; cigarettes have over 600 chemical ingredients and when lit, over 4000 chemicals are released into your body. After two to four months of being diagnosed with SCLC, more than half of the patients die (medicine.net). However, after 5 years of diagnosis, patients survival rate is down to 5 10% (medicine.net). NSCLC has the best survival rate at 75% after 5 years (medicine.net). The reason why the survival rate is so high for NSCLC is because the lung can be treated upon with different procedures and the cancer spreads slowly throughout the body. The overall prognosis for lung cancer is poor when compared with some other cancers. Survival rates for lung cancer are generally lower than those for most cancers, with an overall five year survival rate for lung cancer of about 17% compared to 67% for colon cancer, 90% for breast cancer, 81% for bladder cancer, and over 99% for prostate cancer. ... With the help IPv6 we will be able to connect almost every device possible because the one of the advantages of IPv6 is that it provides uses a 128 bit address, allowing 2128, or approx. 3.4×1038 addresses. With the help of this technology we can generate more and accurate information. Also, we can monitor sensitive information on brief intervals. Furthermore, time and money can be saved as the tagging technology is cheap and as this requires very less or no human interaction hence it s quick and saves time. Finding out that his friends were getting captured by gigantic spiders left Bilbo something else to worry about besides lack of food and water. His heroic self came out again as he used himself as a decoy, or bait, to lure the spiders far away from the dwarves so he can have time to free the dwarves later. He used himself once more to help the dwarves run to a safe place while the spiders were slowly closing in on them. This shows that Bilbo is self sacrificing and would do anything to keep his friends which is an impotent trait for a hero to have. This ideal is found throughout and delegates the lives of many individuals throughout thousands of cultures. In Motorcycles, Membership, and Belonging McCurdy says that if an Indian couple were to come to the United States for the first time they might be, surprised by [the lack of] American social relations. (McCurdy 2014:209) In this essay I will be describing how American views on kinship and social relations vary from those of Indians through both personal experience and learned information. First lets highlight what kind of roles kinship and social relations play in the lives of these potential Indian tourists. Kinship groups, to Indians, are an essential part of life; kinship is something that makes various decisions for an individuals life, some of those include: who you marry, what you inherit, and your level of status in the family. Throughout most of India, people use patrilineal descent to establish kinship; this means that only males are part of the descent group. In this kind of descent extended family is an integral part of an individuals life because many generations all live together under one roof. For example, one may grow up in a household with their grandparents, uncles and their wives and children, and even older brother s wives and kids. A Soldier s life might depend on it. Camouflage was first understood by hunters as far as from prehistoric time. These hunters observed and understood how an animal had a protection beyond just teeth and claws. They discovered that most animals could mix it with a natural background such as trees, leaves, and rocks, make them undetectable to other animals and humans. The military has little used at the beginning of these techniques. There are few examples of the use of camouflage in ancient and medieval warfare because camouflage was rare at that time. An Explanation Of Why Sociologists Are Interested On Class Class is important as it can determine various aspects that will have a significant impact and influence on how people s lives are shaped. Feminists have argued for other things to be included such as social divisions to show how they intersect with class. Economic inequalities can have an impact on class as they can determine a person s status, wealth, income and lifestyle. Class is important as social inequalities exists amongst the rich and poor. Important social factors include poverty, health and education. A person s identity is just as important as their class. People may face discrimination due to their identity, whether that may be due to their gender, age, ethnicity or disability. Social mobility is where people are in a different social class now from which they were brought up in. Also, due to poor process safety culture, BP didn t have a process safety audit system which could have revealed all the inherent hazards and risk associated with their operations and for this matter the accident at the Texas City refinery happened (Baker et al 2007).It is obvious that the poor process safety culture made management and operators in the oil and gas sector to under estimate the role process failure could lead to accidents. Again, USW (2007) reports that most Oil and Gas refineries in the United States practice bad process safety systems where most refineries used atmospheric vents on their process units which accounted to the release of untreated flammable and dangerous substances. It continues to report that work tool trailers were located closely to process units thereby exposing them to dangerous conditions and also permitted unqualified workers to work in risky areas during operations. Although it can be labor intensive, grafting has continued to be used in fruit and nut trees because of the immense benefits. Different plants produce different qualities of fruits and nuts, and not always consistently. And, because tree fruits are nearly impossible to reproduce from cuttings, grafting has become the most popular technique for fruit tree propagation. Grafting helps to produce a superior and highly valued crop (Hartmann, Kester, Davies, Geneve, 2011). New markets continue to require grafted and budded plants for improved plant quality, fruit yield, superior forms, and better adaptation to greater ecological ranges (Hartmann et al. 2011). This paper will take a closer look at the technique of grafting, where it originated from, its developments over time, and the impact it has had on agriculture. II. DEFINITION Grafting can be described as the natural or deliberate fusion of plant parts so that vascular continuity is established between them and the resulting genetically composite organism functions as a single plant (Mudge, Janick, Scofield, Goldschmidt, 2009). In other words, it involves taking part of one tree and attaching it to part of another tree. For example, a section of a stem with leaf buds might be inserted into the stock of a tree. • 27. African American Muslim For the American Muslim Several years back, W.E.B. Du Bois coined a term double consciousness. He used to term to describe the phenomenon of how African Americans lived their lives with two different scripts or how to behave. The first script, was the one that applied to anyone regardless of race or identity. The second was unique to blacks, who often felt obliged to view themselves through the lens of the dominant white group. Du Bois s ideology was absolutely correct. Not just for the African American but also for most other minority groups as well. Nowadays, I feel like I go through the same phenomenon myself as an American Muslim. Although today s American Muslim, unless he or she is racially black, doesn t face double consciousness through the lens of Du Bois for the African American, we do face the same form of confusion and struggle to be less of ourselves and more of what needs to be seen. However there s some problems in this country. Kneeling for the anthem is a disrespectful and undignified thing to do. People have risked their lives, some even have lost their lives, fighting for our freedom. The mass shootings in America is gruesome. Hamhocks And Flakehead Case Summary Hamhocks and Flakehead would be able to show that CBC and its reporter Dan Blather invaded privacy by intrusion by looking at the elements of intrusion, the expectations of privacy, the areas of concern, private places and posing. First off, the elements of intrusion state that one may be liable for invasion of privacy if one intentionally intrudes. In this case, it can be determined that Blather intruded on the workspace and privacy of Hamhocks and Flakehead because he was sent there as part of his reporting job. Blather did follow the defined elements of intrusion, which also include intruding upon the solitude or seclusion of another or his private affairs and concerns in a way that would be a highly offensive to the reasonable person. ... As explained earlier, the plaintiffs had a reasonable expectation of privacy since they were in a closed office space talking to someone they believed to be a coworker, and Blathers was found to be photographing the area. Lastly, looking at posing, it s easy to see that Blathers is at the wrong here. By posing as an employee instead of a reporter, Blathers can face charges such as fraud along with intrusion. The first seldom happens and the latter happens with less frequency I had hoped for in finding support for student learning and behavior. One example where peer mediation would be effective is conflict between students arising from something done or said to them. For instance, a child approached me to say someone hit them when in fact the other child was trying to remove a bug off the accusers back. This misunderstanding or miscommunication consumes time away from instruction and does not empower children to solve conflicts correctly on their own. Disgusted by the sweatshop conditions children had to endure, Kelley worked diligently to pull for child labor laws. Her brilliant rhetorical approach is to stop the unjust treatment of children through the enfranchisement of women. To convince the members of the convention, Kelley implements repetition and vivid imagery to persuade the mothers and the teachers in the crowd to urge the working men to help aid their cause. Kelley begins her persuasion by reiterating the idea of children working while we sleep as a way to reveal the horrendous situation the public refuses to correct. Political Parties And The Democratic Party When looking at the history of US political parties, and classifying these parties into distinct party systems, five separate periods emerge leading up to the current party system. When classifying these party systems, it is important to look at characteristics such as the number of major parties, how these parties seek to gain support, and how the parties organize themselves. The earliest American parties were relatively centralized organizations that represented elite level concerns. They formed mainly at the national level, with low levels of grassroots connections. The first national party to come to prominence was the Federalist Party, who were opposed by the Democratic Republican Party. Tsar(The Emperor of russia before 1917) was forced to abdicate. Tsar was a very unfair leader (just like Mr.jones) and Russia s minorities became hard to control under his domination. When his brother (Michael Alexandrovich) refused to rule, over 300 years of Romanov dynasty ended. In animal farm the author George Orwell uses persuasiveness of the leaders and gullibility of the followers to contribute to theme:loss of freedom and equality in order to show even after the revolution animal farm fell back into tyranny, dictatorship, inequality ,and subservience. Although the animals at Manor Farm had a revolution they quickly fell right back into tyranny which led to loss of freedom and equality. After Mr. Jones was expelled two pigs Snowball and Napoleon became the leaders of the farm. Soon after the revolution Napolean expelled Snowball! Unfortunately Napoleon did not have the animal s best interest at heart. Three hens who had been the ringleaders in the attempted rebellion over the eggs now came forward and stated that snowball had appeared to them in a dream, and incited them to disobey Napoleon s orders. They too were slain on the spot. When the animals expelled Mr. Jones they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only is gender forcefully depicted over the course of life, but also the level of intensity in the advertisements is seen quite often. Sexual influence is used abundantly towards men, and businesses find a way to incorporate this factor in almost anything. One of the more gentle ads is the M M pin that has the green candy taking off her outer shell. The sex appeal from the candy gives off a vibe to men that if they purchase this product, they will be satisfied. Not only is it seen through a cartoon candy, but in real life women too. The intensity increases for products that more older men would see. As seen on television, the well known Hardee s commercials utilize women as a way to pair burgers with romance. These commercials vary in magnitude, but one of the more vulgar ones is the all natural burger. The main girl appears to be naked throughout the commercial, and gives off seductive vibes that put the male actors in a trance. Curiosity grows as in continues to stream, and at the end the audience see that the girl is clothed, rather in a skimpy outfit, with of course, the burger. Another pin that displays similar intensity is the Charlotte Brillat Savarin cheese ad, which has a girl mostly naked, only covered by an apron. All in all, the pins reveal that the gender identity for real men is aimed at intimate relationships with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
