Age Of Exploration Pros
There are many aspects of history that are considered to be controversial. The Age of Exploration was
considered to be a positive achievement because of the discovery of the new world known as America.
Although people believed this, there were a lot of things going on in the background that were very
negative. The age of exploration should be considered a crime against humanity because of the deadly
diseases, ruthless conquistadors, and the endless slavery. The Europeans who traveled from Europe to
the Americas carried many diseases with them that affected the Native Americans drastically. Some of
the diseases that were brought by the Europeans were influenza, smallpox, and measles. The article
known as The Cultural Implications of European Disease on New World Populations states, These
foreign pathogens were active[ly] winnowing the people more quickly even than a sword could, and
certainly much more silently and effectively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hernando Cortes, a Spanish conquistadors was one of the many conquistadors that were considered to
be full of greed and an ambition for gold. Hernando Cortes could have used this time to gain allies, but
he used it to kill others for gold and glory. The worst part was that the Aztecs and their leader
Montezuma could have killed them with ease, but they tried to make friends. The article from ABC
Clio states, A quick and decisive action by Montezuma would have crushed the Spanish force of 400
men. He delayed, however, supposedly due to a belief that Cortés and the Spaniards... fulfilled omens
predicting the return of the god Quetzalcoatl from exile (von Germeten). The people of the city known
as Tenochtitlan showered lot of gold at Hernando Cortés, and all he gave was death to an entire city.
Overall, Hernando Cortés greed can not be forgotten because he wiped out most of the people of
Tenochtitlan and the rest died to the diseases they

Bestiality In Jonas Liliequist s Peasant Against Nature
Throughout history, humans have maintained a relationship with animals. In some cultures, animals
have served as religious symbols and were worshipped by humans. As society progressed, humans
began to play the more dominant role. Animals began to serve as a source of food, trade,
transportation, and companion. With the frequent interaction between man and animals, boundaries
were eventually crossed. In Peasants against Nature, Jonas Liliequist discussed the excessive cases of
bestiality in seventeenth and eighteenth century Sweden and its inevitable occurrence. With his
various sources, Liliequist proposed that bestiality occurred due to the frequent interactions between
men and animals, lack of culture, sexual frustration, and basic curiosity. ... Show more content on

When witnessing acts of bestiality, people were in disbelief and petrified. Many reported fainting,
dizziness, and nausea. People did not know how to react when they caught the bugger. They did not
want to confront the bugger in fear of provoking violence. The ultimate fear was that they condemned
themselves by simply witnessing the impure acts (65). Those who engaged in acts of bestiality were
ostracized by society. No one wanted to be associated with them. Wives did not want to engage in
sexual relations with their husbands. Similarly, the bugger s family did not want to share the same last
name. No one wanted to touch the bugger or his belongings (68). Likewise, the animals who were
victims of the assailants were considered impure. Their bodies were corrupted. Many owners chose to
execute the animals because the milk was no longer drinkable, and their meat no longer viable.
However, it was considered illegal to kill the animals until the trials. Despite being poor and resulting
in an economic loss, farmers chose to kill the impure animals in order to distances themselves as much
as possible from the bugger (71). Society ensured that those who performed inhuman acts, were

Power Corruption in Heart of Darkness Essay
In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the author fiercely challenges imperialism. Through this
challenge, he demonstrates the internal battles of good and evil. In his work, he also displays issues of
personal morals and alienation. At the time the novella was written, Europe had established territories
across the map. It holds true that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, especially
when said power reigns over the fate of humans in society. Conrad illustrates the corruption of power
through the books motif of darkness and the renegade of Kurtz. Darkness makes a quick appearance in
the literature because it s in the title. Darkness is seen on the river. And the river was there fascinating
deadly like a snake. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standard in the Victorian era was the men were far away, while the women were morally
supportive, but oblivious to the reality of the man s work, although they economically benefitted from
it. This proves the way power corrupts because Kurtz abused the opportunities given after falling from
the edge of moral standards, even after his Intended attempts to show him the way. In 1902, when
Conrad wrote the book, it was common to base culture off of superiority, therefore it was seen that
Kurtz was in the Congo for the redemption of natives. In the text, Joseph Conrad gives much respect
to the native tribes, Mr. Kurtz, however, has none. Exterminate all brutes! (Conrad 50) he says,
claiming that if he cannot change the natives, they should be thrown out. He, and many people like
him, introduced new cultures to societies that did not want it. The corruption of the spirituality found
in some cultures is thus caused by the hunger for power from interference from separate societies.
Power and happiness go hand in hand. When one abuses power it reveal their limitations and perhaps
inability to maintain power to help the greater good. One of these may be the differences in laws for
those in a position in power and those who are not, and abuse occurs through moral differences in
such society. Everything belonged to him but that was a trifle. The thing to know was what he
belonged to, how many powers of

Mammogram Screening Paper
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women (Macacu, Autier, Boniol Boyle, 2015). In
2013 in the United State, 40,030 female have lost their life to breast cancer (Bryan, Westmaas, Alcaraz

How Did Montag Change In Fahrenheit 451
When a society abandons the past, the future becomes more unfamiliar than ever before. This is a
concept present throughout Ray Bradbury s novel Fahrenheit 451, in which the society has abandoned
reading in its entirety. Guy Montag, the main protagonist in the story, is a fireman. The word fireman
itself has lost its historical meaning in the story and has changed from men who put out fires to men
who start fires and burn books. The reason these men burn books is because they were outlawed after
people stopped reading them, and this is done in order to maintain social equality. With the
abandonment of reading and intellectualism, society has changed and, arguably not for the better. The
main character, Montag, slowly becomes more aware of the society he lives in through his new
neighbor Clarisse McClellan, an old lady with a collection of books, and a known intellectual named
Professor Faber. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shortly after Clarisse moves in down the street from the main protagonist, she meets Montag. Even
though she has learned that he is a fireman, she is willing to talk to him anyway, saying, You know, I
m not afraid of you at all (Bradbury 11). So she talks to him, and he listens. He listens and learns from
her and learns what life can be from her. Clarisse gives Montag thoughts and ideas he has never had
before and this sparks a strive for knowledge in Montag. Montag begins to ask questions, similar to
how Clarisse does. The fireman wishes to learn more about his position in society and begins to
slowly understand what is happening around him. The reader can tell the progression of awareness in
Montag and there is an evident distinction of change throughout the story. Clarisse sparked ideas in
Montag that would, most likely, not have been present without her influence, and because of this
Montag is greatly impressed by Clarisse and this is why she had such a large impact on

Analysis Of Antigone By Sophocles
The name of the play I am summarizing is called Antigone by Sophocles, the genre of this play is
Greek tragic, it comes after two other plays where as in the first one Oedipus was supposed to end up
being the king so he killed his father and wanted marry the mother. Where as in the second one its just
stories of his kids and their meetings with Theseus, the King of Athens. Antigone main properties of a
Greek tragedy play would have to be the characters and the plot. Antigone ends up sacrificing herself
just to fulfill what was wanted of her. Antigone proclaims I shall be a criminal but a religious one. The
time in which I must please those that are dead is longer than I must please those of this world (lines

Ismene (also daughter of Oedipus) is the good girl out of everyone in the family. She bows to Kreon
and she attempts to help Antigone and join her in the sacrifice in which Antigone does not allow her to
do. Kreon is Antigone s uncle, before he gave up everything to the throne he used to have himself
connected with art patronage. Haimon which is Kreon son and Antigone s fiancé, he s not in the play
much because Antigone used to reject him but he soon begs Kreon for her. Now for who I think the
protagonist of the play is I would say Antigone, one main reasoning being that is she sacrifices her life
in order to fulfill her obligation. Yes, a lot of people thought it would ve been Kreon because he got a
lot more stage time than Antigone did but she is the one who has the action moving in the play since
the very start. Antigone is talking to her sister Ismene about her plan ISMENE But can you do it? I say
that you cannot. ANTIGONE Very well: when my strength gives out, I shall do no more. ISMENE
Impossible things should not be tried at all. ANTIGONE Go away, Ismene: I shall be hating you soon,
and the dead will too, for your words are hateful. Leave me my foolish plan: I am not afraid of the
danger; if it means death, it will not be the worst of deaths death without honor. (lines 74 82) So from

With the entrance to the book market by Amazon.com, Barnes amp; Noble found a big competitor, as
it represented a new and innovative way of purchasing a book. Barnes and Noble and its major
competitor, Amazon, a Specialty store that is competing to be the number one top source of obtaining
reading materials that consumers are buying. Besides Amazon, Barnes and noble have had many other
book store competitors but they successfully exceed these competitors and became the number one
bookstore in the nation. Since Barnes and Noble had little pricing power, it has not solidified a high
market position when it comes to these groups of retailers, like Amazon.com, which is known for
providing discount pricing that most companies would struggle to match. Amazon sold electronic
books, which was more efficient, lighter to use, contained many different books at a very low price in
one small electronic call the kindle, whereas Barnes amp; Noble was selling hard copy books.
Amazon.com security and privacy was for consumers to use credit/debit cards that allow customers to

privacy because every customer needed cash to go buy from their stores.

Geography Of The Indus River
Barrett, Emily Period 6 4/30/15
Geography
The Indus River is located on the northwestern part of the sub continent with other rivers draining into
it. Another river called the Ganges River was east of the Indus River. The climate was tropical and
contained seasonal winds called monsoons. Monsoons during the winter were dry and went from land
to the sea, letting little rain fall on the land. During summer monsoons wet winds go from ocean to
land bringing rain with it. The mountain ranges, the Himalayas and Hindu Kush, were located near the
north.
The first civilization in the sub continent grew around the Indus River; later another civilization grew
around the Ganges River. The rivers would flood and this leaves behind rich soils which makes
plentiful crops that fed the civilization. Agriculture depends on the summer monsoon. If rain comes,
there are no problems, but if it comes late or not at all crops die and people starve. Since they could
not always depend on the monsoons they made irrigation channels that led to their crops. The
Himalayas and Hindu Kush separated the sub continent from the rest of Asia. Culture
Clothing
India was the first place that made and used cotton in a piece of clothing called a sari, which was worn
by women. This piece of clothing was long and could be worn in different ways. Rich women wore
saris made of silk. Men wore a long piece of clothing called a dhoti. Since dhotis were shorter they

5) Discuss the different types of traps and seals and the importance of timing . Give an example
related to the Middle East.
Trap can be defined as shield against oil and gas movement. In other words, the trap system had been
set up before the migration of oil and/or gas to this location. After coming across the trap, oil and gas
finished their journey under the ground if the trap is settled well. (I ignore some leakage of them). By
the way, trap could be just structure as barren or could be productive.
The highest point of the trap is the crest, or culmination. The lowest point at which hydrocarbons may
be contained in the trap is the spill point; this lies on a horizon contour, the spill plane. The vertical
distance from crest to spill plane is the closure of the trap. A trap may or may not be full to the spill
plane, a point of both local and regional significance. Note that in areas of monoclinal dip the closure
of a trap may not be the same as its structural relief. This situation is particularly significant in
hydrodynamic traps. The zone immediately beneath the petroleum is referred to as the bottom water,
and the zone of the reservoir laterally adjacent to the trap as the edge zone.
Gross pay is total thickness of the reservoir unit.Net pay is the fraction of the reservoir that has

John Reflection
The main purpose of the Book of John is to deliver the news of salvation to readers (Elwell
Yarbrough, Encountering the New Testament: A Historical and Theological Survey, 101). Moreover,
John includes Jesus performance of nine extraordinary signs that the author and many other people
observed during Christ s ministry on earth. Their testimonies show readers that Jesus Christ is the
almighty Son of God, and His wonders displayed His greatness. During Christ s time on earth, He
served as a role model and provided teachings that serve as the basis that Christians still follow. Jesus
served many roles, such as a teacher, servant, healer, and helper. Yet, many people were in awe of
Jesus great power in John, and the eyewitness accounts, which portray the life of Jesus in this Gospel,
inspired others to follow Christ (Encountering the New Testament: A Historical and Theological
Survey, 97). Jesus miracles in John include: turning water into wine, healing people, feeding the five
thousand, walking on water, resurrection, miraculous appearance of the fish, and raising Lazarus from
the dead (Holy Bible, John, 2 21). The first marvel Jesus performed was when He changed the water
into wine. Jesus and His disciples attended a marriage ceremony in Cana in Galilee, and Jesus mother
informed Him that they drank all of it. Several pots were available. Thus, Jesus instructed the servants
to fill up several containers of water and take some of it out to take to the man in charge of

The Lottery Short Story Analysis
Shirley Jackson s short story The Lottery is about an unusual traditionalistic small town that ironically
gives the lottery a bad meaning. In the beginning of the story Jackson makes sure to describe the
setting of the story. Jackson starts the story off by saying The morning of June 27th was clear and
sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full summer day (1). This quote is very misleading because Jackson
gives her audience a false sense of a welcoming environment. The town seems to be stuck in this
traditionalistic way of doing things. When you think of the lottery one automatically thinks of money,
but this story focuses more on the tragedy of the town. The story sets place in the town square with the
towns people all gathered to carry out the lottery. The year is not stated but based on the description of
the town s people one can assume that it is post war time. We learn that the lottery is not a one town
event, but it is conducted across several towns. We expect it to be familiar to everyone since it seems
to be a fun time for all the town members. The story talks about how children in the town are
collecting stones before the lottery begins. Mr. Summers the conductor of the lottery is responsible for
getting everything ready for the lottery. The lottery takes about 2 hours but some towns take
sometimes even days. Once all the slips of paper are mixed in the box all the people from the list come
up and draw a slip. During the lottery everyone

How the Introduction of the Individual into a Non traditional Sport for His or Her Gender Affects that
Individual and the Sport Itself A high school age boy makes the papers when he joins the girls varsity
field hockey team at his high school. A woman is judged according to femininity rather than muscle
mass in a body building competition. An African American is thought inferior to his white
counterparts on the sports field. A woman is discouraged from playing contact sports under the pretext
of being too delicate. All of these events have one thing in common: they, in their own context,
involve individuals entering a non traditional sport for their gender or race. Over the years, events
such as these continually arise causing either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, I myself would have been surprised if a boy showed up on the field one day wearing a skirt
like the rest of the team and expecting to play in the game. Part of the problem is that it is so
uncommon. People are afraid of things that they ve never seen or done. Non traditional athletes in
certain sports are partially unaccepted due to the fact that they are a first. This is part of the reason
why Bev (from Pumping Iron II), was so unaccepted by the judges of the women s bodybuilding
contest: the judges were disgusted by her muscularity. Images of muscular women... are disconcerting,
even threatening... [she was a] threat to established values. (Holmlund 302) There is a first for
everything, but firsts are always hard to accept and integrate into society. There was, for instance, a
single female member of the wrestling team at my high school. It was something that we d all heard of
happening at other high schools, but was never something that we d anticipated coming to our high
school. She was seen as being strange: butch, unlady like, even ugly. I never gave her more than a
thought because I felt the same. In this context however, of non traditional athletes in sports, I see how
hard she must have worked to overcome the obstacle of being the social outcast due to her perceived
peculiarity. Wrestling must have been something that she loved to do. If I can respect women like
Martina Navratilova or Tony Stone for being pioneer women in

Is Scrooge A Selfish Person
Even though Scrooge was selfish at the beginning he still should deserve a second chance. In the
Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, a protagonist named Scrooge, was a selfish and mean person but
then he changes throughout the story. I describe him as selfish, unfriendly, and a kind person. The
reason why I described him as a selfish person is because he didn t give money to the poors and
thought they were scumbags. The second reason why I called Scrooge a unfriendly person is because
he didn t want to go to his nephew s dinner and he doesn t say kind things to people. The last reason
why I think Scrooge is a kind person is because at the end he gave money to the poors and felt sorry
for Tiny Tim. Scrooge does change from being selfish and unfriendly person to a kind person in the
end.
First, Scrooge is a selfish person and he only cares about himself. On page 256 Scrooge says, I wish to
be left alone. Since you ask me what I wish, sir, that is my answer. I don t make merry myself at
Christmas, and I can t afford to make idle people merry. This shows how Scrooge doesn t want to help
the poors which means he only cares about himself. On page 264 Belle says, We have never lied to
one another. May you be happy in the life you have chosen. This describes how he didn t care about
Belle or his girlfriend and only cared about his money. On page 268 Scrooge says, You are the third.

Pan Labyrinth Essay
The second source provides great insight on Guillermo del Toro s Pan Labyrinth (2006). The author
analyzes the historical aspect of the movie, regarding the Spanish civil war, emergence of the
Nationalist regime, and the aftermath of the collapse of the Republicans. What s interesting about this
Alvaro s analyzation is his belief that the movie mainly focuses on the aftermath of the war a situation
many have forgotten or fail to bring up. The movie makes the war appear as if it s going on during the

He covers how the camera work and history help build and reinforce the themes in Children of Men
(2006), directed by Alfonso Cuarón. His article opens by stating the importance of Theo s relatively
calm reaction to the violent bombing that takes place. This leads to my argument on the influence that
refugees and immigrants play in the film, as well silently referencing the tragic to 9/11 bombing. The
frequent reference to them throughout the movie; being killed and violently contained behind fences
and held in cages, address the familiarity of the worldwide problem of immigration. The fear of
immigrants in the name of national security, is also evident in the film; even showing a Homeland
Security banner later in the film. In the period of this movie, violence is not only enforced and upheld,
it s ignored. Alfanso s analysis brought up character development, specifically Theo s dependence,
which I had not even considered prior to this reading. In the beginning of the film he appears socially
detached; faking sympathy to the news of Baby Diego s death with his coworkers in an attempt to hide
his distaste of the government. Julian s death and finding out about Kee s pregnancy forces him to
become a leader. He acts as a selfless protagonist that develops throughout the film, and may
symbolize the change within the government. Overall, Alfanso s analyzation of Children of Men is

Who Is Faber In Fahrenheit 451
Ray Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 in 1953 on a typewriter in his basement. Fahrenheit 451 is based
in a futuristic United States where books are banned and constantly burned by firefighters. Faber is the
Mentor that helps, the hero, Guy Montag to bring books back into society. Faber still helps Montag
even though doing so is illegal, which makes Faber the Mentor in Fahrenheit 451. Faber is doing good
by helping Montag because Montag agrees with Faber. Faber eventually helps Montag run from the
law because he knows Montag wants to help with their shared cause. Faber later points Montag in the
direction of the people that are preserving the information inside books, to help Montag run away.
Bradbury illustrates how Faber is the Mentor in Fahrenheit 451 by having Faber help Montag in
different ways. Faber helps Montag on his journey to help bring books back into society and to help
people understand that there is more to life then what is directly in front of them. Faber assists Montag

Anxiety Sufferers
Many of us anxiety sufferers have been so anxious for so long that we really have no idea of any other
kind of life. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and nervous about
everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other way. Some of us even
try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while others try to convince
themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety.
But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe
otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious. Many of us
have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not experienced it for
years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing, however that failure
might look like to us. Physical symptoms that we experience when are anxious can vary widely and
can include sweating, tingling, or shaking, to name a few. However, those of us who have managed to

question is relative, in my opinion. Some people may be happy with occasional confidence, while still
being anxious in most situations. Others are happy to be confident in certain situations that enable one
to enhance the quality of his or her life, situations such as one on one interpersonal interactions, being
able to go out in public, or perhaps being able to drive a car. Others like me, who are idealists, want to
completely eliminate that anxious feeling in all situations. Is this a realistic goal? The answer is
probably no. But, if one continues to pursue complete relaxation as a goal, then one will notice that
anxiety in many other situations reduces or eliminates entirely while pursuing this

Analysis Of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home
In Alison Bechdel s Fun Home, the author enlightens us with her struggles in determining her gender
identity and sexuality. She does this in a very unique fashion. Alison, throughout the novel, uses
specific pieces of literature and writing in order for the reader to decipher her true emotions and
feelings toward her sexuality. On top of that, Bechdel writes her story in order to show how these
objects play a much deeper role between not only comprehending her sexuality, but her understanding
of her choppy relationship with her father. The end result is a series of connections that bring the two
closer together than they ever were. Alison begins to question her sexuality in the third chapter of the
novel. She discusses how her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

more sense. Clearly, Bruce is using his dedication towards the Fun Home as a way to hide away his

feminine, because he doesn t want her to be in that phase of confusion and not being able to fully

role in this central theme of confusion towards one s true identity is The Catcher in the Rye. While the
novel has many examples of books with hidden uncovering messages, the most prominent in my
opinion is The Catcher in the Rye. In the scene where The Catcher in the Rye is mentioned, Alison is
in her father s english class and she s the only person answering his questions. What s interesting is
that when her father initially asks her to read the book, she responds that she ll do it after I put you in
the nursing home (Bechdel 198). While it seems that Alison is going to chose not to read the book in
order to resent her father, in the very next panel she s answering all of his questions. Her father is
impressed and tells her that she s the only one in that class worth teaching and Alison responds with It

The Winter s Tale Essay
The present paper attempts to make an analysis of William Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale, an
Elizabethan tragicomedy and Harold Pinter s The Birthday Party, a modern tragicomedy. But these are
tragicomedies with a difference. The Winter s Tale moves from tragedy in the first half to comedy in
the second half. Things end well for all the major characters although there is suffering and sadness
and the loss of lives cannot be undone. The Birthday Party, on the other hand, is a dark comedy. There
is an aura of terror, revulsion and dread throughout. And things end on a threatening and despairing
note for the major character Stanley Webber who seems to have lost his mental faculties in the end.

The fact that Polixenes has been his childhood friend and a guest at his palace under his protection

User Authentication in Computer Security
1 INTRODUCTION
User authentication is a most important component in most computer security. It provides user with
access control and user accountability. As we know there are many types of user authentication
systems in the market but alphanumerical username/passwords are the most common type of user
authentication. They are many and easy to implement and use. Due to the limitation of human
memory, most users tend to choose short or simple passwords which are easy to remember. Surveys
show that frequent passwords are personal names of family members, birth date, or dictionary words.
In most cases, these passwords are easy to guess and vulnerable to dictionary attack. Today users have
many passwords for personal computers, social networks, E mail, and more. They may decide to use
one password for all systems to decrease the memory burden, which reduce security. Graphical
passwords is harder to guess or broken by brute force. If the number of possible pictures is sufficiently
large, the possible password space of a graphical pass word scheme may exceed that of text based
schemes and thus most probably offer improved security against dictionary attacks. The use of
graphical password methods is gaining awareness because of these advantages. Graphical passwords
were originally described by Blonder. In his description, an image would appear on the screen, and the
user would click on a few chosen regions of it. If the correct regions were clicked in, the user would

The Victimization of Teenage Girls
What does it mean to be a girl according to society? How does society see it? In many countries, a girl
is seen as powerless, uneducated, and too emotional to handle a man s job. For example, women in
Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive. In the past, writers used to describe a woman s role as the
victim of many forms of discrimination in the United States of America. In other words, women were
only involved in things that men thought were not important. For instance, women did not have any
other role than being a housewife. They had to stay at home, watch the children, be responsible, and
do all the chores. Nonetheless, American women got their freedom earlier comparing to other
countries in the world. Now they are more independent, more ... Show more content on

Kerry Cohen, as a practicing psychotherapist and writing teacher, provides in her book different
resources and website where teen girls can get more information about these symptoms.
Another second reason why teen girls are victimized is the culture of this society. Teen girls are told to
be princesses when they are small. However when they are grown up they are told by their parents that
they are too young to use inappropriate cloth. When they go out and meet other teens who wear sexy
cloths, they are getting mixed feeling about it. Another example is when they watch TV they see girls
in sexy cloths and they automatically think that it is right. The TV uses girls in bikinis to attract the
audience. Even more, when teen girls go to school, they want to fit in their group of friends by
wearing the same cloths because that is what they make them seem cool. Therefore, how they are seen
by others is more important than anything. Image comes first. They must do anything to fit in the
Cinderella s shoe. Likewise, on the short story, Where Are You Going, Where have You Been written
by Joyce Carol Oates, Connie wants attention at all costs. She enjoys when men are looking at her.
Connie s mother never agrees with her that she is beautiful. Instead, Connie s mother criticizes her and
compares her with June, her older sister. Then, Connie develops a low self esteem because her family
is not accepting her sexual admiration. For example, there is a part on

Taking a Look at Climate Change
If we are going to look at the consensus on climate change we should start by defining which group of
people is supposed to be reaching that consensus. All scientists are supposed to know all there is to
know about every field of science; 17,000 scientists signed a petition saying there s no convincing
evidence that greenhouse gases will disrupt the earth s climate; 31,000 scientists are saying that global

The Movie American History X
Recently I watched the movie American History X. Its major subjects are gang violence and racism,
that has been passed on from generation to generation. It also asked questions like, what were their
racist ideas really based on, how did racism effect the community, can racism be reshaped by actual
experiences, and how or why racism to begin with? Racism has been the main topic in the judicial
system, police affairs, and racially divided communities for years but it s neither disappearing nor
growing to this today.
In this movie the main character was a man named Derek. After the death of his father, due to gang
violence, he became a racist to all others but white people. He blamed the lack of jobs and poor wages
on the blacks and immigrants. In an interview he had after the death of his father he stated that, it s all
the blacks fault for all the violence in their neighborhood. He also said that, they brought all the
diseases like AIDS and it s their problem and why did they have to bring it to the white people. Before
he vandalized a store, owned by a Chinese man, with his other racist friends he told them why they
were doing this. He told them that these immigrates come here an instead of looking for the American
dream they come and take advantage of it and by firing those who worked there before and hiring
Mexicans and blacks, that are willing to work at a low wage, they make more money. So he and his
friends need to show them that they indeed don t belong here and

Liesel Malon Silko Ceremony Analysis
In her novel Ceremony, Liesel Marmon Silko introduces us to a disillusioned world of nature that is

spiritual quality the novel bestows upon its readers. The repeated application of culture and nature

Comparing The Osage Firebird And A Life Painting Animals
The stories The Osage Firebird by Sudipta Bardhan and A Life Painting Animals by Diana Childress
both tell about the life of two girls who overcame barriers to find success. Betty Marie Tallchief, from
the story The Osage Firebird, becomes a great and well known ballerina although she faces prejudice,
criticism, and teasing when she was young. She turned into a great and successful ballerina because
she overcame many obstacles. Rosa Bonheur, from the story A Life Painting Animals, becomes a great
artist and famous for her works of art although she also faced prejudice and had disagreements with
her father. She did not let hurdles slow her down or stop her from being successful. Both of the
women in these stories had to overcome prejudice to get where they wanted to be in their career.
Marie faced prejudice because of her race and where she came from, but did not let that stop her from
getting where she wanted to be. When she was in school she would get teased because of her Osage
heritage and her name. Rosa also suffered from prejudice because she was a girl and did not get to go

The Derivatives Of Cellulose
Cellulose is a well known carbohydrate that is currently being impressively utilized within the food
industry. Derivatives of cellulose, can be used to improve texture, to act as edible microcomposite
films, and to provide antibacterial packaging. Some cellulose derivatives are carboxymethyl cellulose,
microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, and microfibrillated cellulose (Belitz et
al. 2009).
Cellulose is a polysaccharide derived from plant cell walls that is digestible by the enzyme cellulase
(Belitz et al. 2009). Humans can not digest cellulose because cellulase is not present in the digestive
tract, however this indigestible carbohydrate is a major component of dietary fiber and improves
digestion (Belitz et al. 2009). On the other hand, herbivores have rumen microflora that can hydrolyze
cellulose (Belitz et al. 2009).
Cellulose consists of a flat and linear structure containing hydrogen bonds that form polycrystalline
fiber bundles (Huber and BeMiller 2017). There are repeating glucopyranosyl units bound by 14
glycosidic linkages which form pleated chains parallel to the direction of the fibers (Belitz et al.
2009). The source of the cellulose affects the degree of polymerization which can range from 1000 to
14000 (Belitz et al. 2009). The hydrogen bonds that stabilize the parallel chains cause cellulose to
have a high molecular weight and be insoluble in water, however it can be modified to become water
soluble gums (Huber and BeMiller 2017).

Examples Of Insecurities In The World s Wife
In The World s Wife, Duffy challenges recognized historical, fictional and mythological characters
from the perspective of the women, reflections on relations between men and women, the
responsibilities and experiences of partners and lovers, for whom love and relationship are more
complicated than feelings others get. Some of these poems are touched with resentment, others with
blush worthy love. The combination of theme and stylistic variation means that the reader cannot help
but prefer some pieces to others. Instead of shock tactics and personal experiences, she seemed to
create more complex and interesting view.
The theme of insecurities appears throughout the poem as Duffy feels like male are leaving women
based on their appearance. The poem Medusa clearly shows many examples of insecurities. Medusa is
one of the Gorgons three sisters from Greek mythology, famous for having snakes for hair and for
turning people to stone. Medusa has always been well known among people, and was well known for
having unapproachable looks but Duffy tells her story so that the reader can gain sympathy for
Medusa, a monstrous character. The poem begins with A suspicion, a doubt, a jealousy. This conveys
how jealousy has turned the woman into a monster, and how now everything she looks at turns to
stone, which connects to the original mythology. This feeling of doubt and insecurities continues
throughout the poem, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

jealousy as she feels like her husband is betraying her because of her looks, and further damages the

Aldous Huxley recounts his heightened experience while taking mescalin as one of transcendence as
he enters into a state of egolessness, allowing him to view the world objectively, without the presence

ability to detour the reducing valve permitting the mind to flow freely and not diminishing his
perception. The theory of a reducing valve that filters one s perception for the purpose of survival
perplexed me throughout the essay and the mere thought of what limited perception I might actually
be experiencing, especially in regards to emotions, unnerved me. My question therefore lies in

Proper documentation is the best defense against a malpractice claim, Dr. Jeff Greenberg writes in a

How Does Marquez Use Magical Realism In Chronicle Of A...
The presence of absurdity in Chronicle of a Death Foretold
Magical realism is a prevalent technique throughout all of Gabriel Garcia Marquez s writings. Magical
realism is a literary technique in which realistic narrative and naturalistic technique are combined with
surreal elements of dream or fantasy. It includes elements of matter of fact narrative, the fantastic and
the mundane. Throughout the story characters are always asked why they didn t tell anyone about the
Vicario brothers plan. In the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold Garcia Marquez uses elements of
magical realism to convey how honor is used to justify unjustifiable actions.
In the novel, honor is taken very seriously. Garcia Marquez uses matter of fact narrative to show that
honor is more important than what is true. No one ever questions an action that is done for the sake of
preserving someone s honor. It is believed to be a fundamental moral trait that every person should
have. A person without honor is an outcast in the community. Many characters are motivated by honor,
just like the Vicario brothers, Pablo and Pedro. They are the murderers of Santiago Nasar, for the sake
of their sister Angela and her honor: The lawyer stood by the thesis of the homicide in legitimate
defense of honor, which was upheld by the court in good faith, and the twins declared at the end of the

Indigenous Australians are the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals of Australia,
plummeted from gatherings that existed in Australia and encompassing islands preceding European
colonization. There is incredible assorted qualities among various Indigenous people group and social
orders in Australia, each with its own particular blend of societies, traditions and dialects. In present
day Australia these gatherings are further separated into nearby communities. At the season of starting
European settlement, more than 250 dialects were talked; it is as of now evaluated that 120 to 145 of
these stay being used, and everything except 13 are thought to be endangered. Aboriginal individuals
today generally communicate in English, with Aboriginal expressions and words being added to make
Australian Aboriginal English. Native individuals basically lived as seeker gatherers, chasing and
scavenging for sustenance from the area. Albeit Aboriginal society was by and large versatile, or semi
itinerant, moving as per the changing sustenance accessibility found crosswise over various regions as
seasons changed, the method of life and material societies fluctuated incredibly from locale to district,
and there were lasting settlements and agriculture in a few ranges.

Essay on The Enduring Loyalty, Love, and Compassion of...
Imagine leaving your wealth, home, family, and even country behind for twenty years. While away,
people will inevitably attempt to steal your possessions, seduce your spouse, and act as though you
will never return. Most likely, more people will try to harm your estate than those who will continue
working and behaving in an honest manner. This notion holds true in Homer s epic poem, The
Odyssey. While Odysseus wages war and struggles to return to Ithaka , a multitude of suitors court his
wife and live at the cost of his possessions. On the other hand, a few people like Eumaios remain
steadfast to the truth and work to maintain Odysseus estate and possessions. Eumaios, Odysseus

Eumaios feels the pain and hardship that Laërtês endures, as he feels that the distressed Laërtês needs
instantaneous notice of his grandson s return.
In addition to being empathetic throughout the poem, Eumaios loves those who need it most:
Odysseus, Telémakhos, and the swine entrusted to him. When everyone else had finished dinner and
went to bed for the evening, Eumaios took a sharpened lance, and went to rest / under a hollow rock
where swine were sleeping (14.629 30). Homer uses this as an opportunity to show that Eumaios truly
treasured his swine; instead of sleeping like the others, he ventures out into the cold to watch over the
vulnerable swine. Later, when Telémakhos returns from searching for Odysseus, it is remarked that
Eumaios kissed the young man s head, his shining eyes / and both hands, while his own tears brimmed
and fell (16.21 2). In Odysseus absence, Eumaios essentially assumes the paternal role in Telémakhos
life, and Eumaios was ecstatic to see that his son had returned safely to Ithaka and avoided the
murderous suitors. Another emotional scene takes place when Odysseus reveals himself to the faithful
swineherd and cowherd. When Eumaios hears the news, he puts his arms around the old soldier,
weeping, / kissing his head and shoulders (21.251 2). Eumaios beams with excitement and joy when

Economic Depression and Hitler s Rise to Power Essay
Economics Depression and Hitler s Rise to Power
The economic depression 1923 1929, contributed to Hitler s rise to power in many ways.
The first thing that led to the economic crisis was when the German economy collapsed, as a result of
the depression and low employment. This was a result of the Treaty of Versailles that forced Germany
to pay reparations to the allies. The German people protested that it was an intolerable strain on the
economy, but the German government ignored it. The German government did their best to play for
time and to negotiate concessions from the allies, but because the French were quite impatient and
also had to pay war debts to the USA they wanted there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually a new right wing prime minister called Stressman came into power and called off passive
resistance in the Rhur. People then started to work again and Stressman brought in a new currency.
Things were looking a bit better than before.
In this situation Hitler s ideas were becoming relevant to the times, because the German people were
unemployed and in a depression, they were venerable to Hitler and his strong power. The German
nation was scared and apprehensive about the future of their country. The League of Nations then tried
to help by making their whole society a safe place where wars were only things of the past. The
League held a disarmament conference, but like most things the League did it was a failure, which
people were not satisfied with. This was a good time for Hitler to make his move, because of the
current state Germany was in. Hitler rose to power. The people needed someone to turn to for help,
who was strong and could be heard and Hitler was there.
During the economic crisis Hitler used his oratory skills to help him gain power. Hitler s personality
and leadership was better than any other of Germans previous chancellors, he was able to mesmerize
people.
In many of Hitler s speeches he stated how he disliked the treaty of Versailles and wanted to abolish
its terms. Hitler made such a big deal of this, so that the German people also

History Of The Periodic Table Of Elements
Leonardo Miranda Mr. Tagami Chemistry 10/24/14 History of the Periodic Table of Elements The
construction of the Periodic Table of Elements was prior to the discovery of the individual elements.
Elements such as silver, gold, tin, copper, lead and mercury have been known for centuries. In 1649,
the first scientific discovery of an element was made by Hennig Brand when he discovered
phosphorous. Prior to Brand s discovery, chemists had acquired an immense body of understanding
concerning the properties of elements and their compounds for the next 200 years. By the year 1869, a
collection of 63 elements had been revealed. As the number of known elements increased, scientists
began to notice patterns in properties and formulate classification schemes. In 1862, a French
geologist, A.E.Beguyer de Chancourtois, recorded a list of the elements on a cylinder regarding their
individual atomic weights. He was the first to identify that elemental properties reoccur every seven
elements. There has been some deviation on who deserves credit for being the father of the periodic
table, either the German Lothar Meyer or the Russian Dmitri Mendeleev. Both chemists shockingly
produced similar results during the same time period working individually. Meyer s 1864 textbook
included a shortened version of the periodic table, which contained about half of the known elements
ordered by their atomic weight and valence charges. In 1868, Meyer assembled a prolonged version of

Advertising Guitars with Suicide and Sex
Ads are made to grab a certain audience and make that audience relate to the specific ad or make them
want to go out and purchase the product that is being promoted. Many ads are trying to sell specific
items; but if a person really analyses the ad, the company is selling or promoting more than one item.
In this ad the company Gibson is promoting a specific guitar to be sold. In the ad there is a six string,
electric guitar standing up with the wording, If this doesn t get you laid you should just commit
suicide. In the lower right hand corner of the ad, the company s name Gibson is printed. This six string
guitar is popular for beginning music artists. In this ad the company Gibson is using pathos, ethos, and
logos to get the audience s attention. The Gibson guitar ad explicitly sells guitars, but it implicitly sells
sex and suicide.
Gibson guitars are directing this ad to older teenage and young male adults. The audience is young
enough that they are still debating on what career path that they want to go down. To some of this
audience, this ad would grab their attention by thinking this guitar should get them laid. This aspect
would be directed mainly towards young males. Also, some guitars give the sexy and spontaneous
impression, which in a young male s eyes, is a perfect career. The ad is also saying that if a person
doesn t get laid because of a guitar, they should just kill themselves. By analyzing the statement and
ad picture, music involves sex and

Yojimbo Comparison
Michael Swain
March, 3rd, 2015
Course: FPC211 Section A
Final Assignment: Essay Yojimbo (1961)/ A Fistful Of Dollars (1967)
The following essay is on two films, Yojimbo (1961) directed by Akira Kurosawa A Fistful Of Dollars
(1967) directed by Sergio Leone. The film Yojimbo was plagiarized by Sergio Leone when he made A
Fistful Of Dollars and Kurosawa sued for royalties.
A Fistful Of Dollars is a 1964 spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone starring Clint
Eastwood. The film was shot on a low budget. It is part of the Dollars Trilogy A Fistful Of Dollars,
For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad The Ugly.
The premise behind A Fistful Of Dollars is a cowboy arrives at a Mexican town and immediately is
tested by 4 locals who he guns down with ease. An old innkeeper in the town explains to Clint
Eastwood The Stranger about a feud between two families in the town. The original entitled, Yojimbo
(1961) has a similar premise except for the fact that it is Japanese and one big major ... Show more

Now these two characters have similarities; their use of weaponry. Each character is a master with
their weapon of choice. Due to ethnicity variances, the original version, Yojimbo, use Swords and the
Italian version, A Fistful of Dollars use Pistols. The decision was based on not only cultural factors but
also the likelihood that it needs to appeal to its current audience, hence, American s Versus the
Japanese. One particular detail is the use of substances in their mouths. I am referring to how the
characters are consistently occupied with some form of object that they are either chewing or
smoking. Joe, from the Italian version, smokes a cigarillo in the film whereas A Ronin from Yojimbo
is constantly chewing on an object. One obvious similarity is that they are both lone cowboy/ronin s

Fluoride Persuasive Memo

1200 Newnan Crossing Blvd E
Newnan, Georgia 30265
Representative Lynn Westmoreland
2202 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
September 7, 2015
Dear Representative Westmoreland:
I am writing to you on behalf of my support of House Bill 129. This bill would allow water authorities
to propose a referendum for the cessation of fluoridation of county water supply. As a citizen of
district 3 and of a fluoridated county, I would greatly appreciate the ability to vote for whether or not I
would like to consume water with fluoride in it. I believe that a choice in the matter would greatly
benefit every county and its citizens. Since we are the ones consuming the water, I think it should be a
community decision instead of a decision made by local, state, or federal governments. After all, this
is supposedly a nation of we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to World Health Organization data obtained from a study on 12 year old s levels of tooth
decay, fluoride has had very little effect, if any at all, on tooth decay. Countries such as Japan, Italy,
and Iceland, who are non fluoridated countries, actually have about the same level of tooth decay
decrease as countries that have fluoridated water. Fluoride is considered a drug, according to the FDA,
which means that it is a medical treatment. Medical treatments are not to be given unless the patient
agrees to the treatment, therefore, placing fluoride into the public water supply violates informed
consent seeing as how citizens are not given the opportunity to vote on the matter. Even if people
could vote on the situation, not all people are going to agree with and since it is considered a drug, it

Importance Of Sports In My Life
Sports have always been the go to activity in my life, whether it is playing, watching, or reading. I
participated in a few sports but will play any sport for fun. I thrive to watch sports and keep up with
the NFL, NBA, MLB, and all the college sports. My family has enjoyed sports forever and the love
has been handed down from generation to generation. Issues in sports have always been around and
will continue to be around for ages. In my early elementary days, I played upwards of 5 sports. Flag
and tackle football brought me joy because I could throw the ball to the receivers or run downfield if
they were not open. My high school did not offer soccer; therefore, I did not continue to play during
my elementary years because of baseball. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now to professional teams, I have been a huge fan of the Denver Broncos since I could talk. I love
Sports Authority Field and the entire city of Denver. It brought me joy when Peyton Manning joined
them even though we all know the defense won them Super Bowl 50. When it comes to NBA and
MLB, I do not have necessary favorite teams, but I have favorite players. In the NBA, I respect
Lebron s game and the athletic ability he has brought into the NBA. I enjoy watching all the NBA
games because of the crazy shots and adjustments they can make to get a bucket. The MLB attracts
my attention the least barely liking any of the teams/players, so whenever I go to an MLB game I
always cheer for the home team. Growing up in the middle of Iowa, several of my friends like Iowa
State. I try to be respectful to them but I must put them in their place when they smack talk me. I have
brainwashed my parents and siblings to like the Broncos and Hawkeyes along with me. My brothers in
law are the toughest though because they are extremely big Cyclone fans. Personal issues that I have
had in sports include coaching. At my school, my teammates dads were always the coach which
makes it quite bias when they come to setting lineup. They always want the best results for their kid
whether the game ends in a win or loss. The way I look at games is, I don t care what happens if we
get the win. An issue I realized this year for my High School

Marketing Strategy of the Panera Bread Company Essay
As mentioned in the case study, Panera Bread Company is known to be one of the leading bakery/café
that offers freshly baked pastries and French inspired entrées across various states in the US. However
in the recent years, Panera Bread faced a decrease in their usual high growth rate from 9.1% and
12.0% in the year 2000 to merely 0.2% and 0.5% of comparable sales and annualized unit volumes
respectively. The company likewise has already employed various strategies in order to maintain the
high growth rate of the company. However these strategies is soon to reach its capacity to ensure
growth. Based on the case as well, what seems to be lacking in the strategies that the company
employed before is marketing, control of costs, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of getting endorsers is to make the Panera Bread café experience relatable to a lot of
people. This likewise opens the opportunity to broaden the market of people that the company caters
to. The role of tri media involves tapping a broader market. Television, radio, print and the Internet
functions as gateway into a bigger and varied audience. As such by utilizing these platforms, Panera
Bread can widen the scope of its market, thus increasing sales.
Controlling of Cost Panera Bread Bakery and Café boast of its quality of food and market it as freshly
baked breads prepared everyday. But with this kind of strategy involves a lot of spoilage, contributing
to the high cost that the company is incurring. In the statement provided in the case, despite the
increasing operating profit since 2001, the profit margin remains to be low. In order to address such
problem, the company may opt to offer discounts in certain time of the day to boost the sales of its
bread. For instance the bakeshop may provide 50% discount on its baked goods when stores are about
to close. In doing so, it will not only reduce the spoilage of the bakeshop, but would also broaden the
appeal of the bakery café to a bigger market. The discount serves as a tool to segment the market that
the company is catering into, and thus be able to maximize the sales per target market.
Ensuring costumer loyalty Last among the strategies that can still

Dissociative Disorders
Dissociative disorders embrace a diversity of symptoms related to alterations in consciousness which
vary from amnesia regarding autobiographical events to distortions in identity and the experience of
reality (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th ed. [DSM V]; American
Psychiatric Association [APA], 2013). The nature of dissociative symptoms such as depersonalization,
derealization and absorption has been studied by researchers in a systematic manner during the past
decades. Besides that mild forms of dissociative symptoms are found quite often in general population
(Gershuny Thayer, 1999), yet they are especially prominent in groups of patients suffering from
borderline personality disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, ... Show more content on

In the clinical literature it is very common the distinction between dissociative states and dissociative
traits (e.g. Bremmer, 2010; Bremmer Brett, 1997), whereas state dissociation is described as a
transient symptom and trait dissociation is described as an innate personality characteristic. The
prevalence of dissociative symptoms in both clinical and non clinical populations leads to the notion
that dissociation is a continuum (Bernstein Putnam, 1986) which extends from non pathological
manifestations of daydreaming to severe distortions of personality typical of dissociative disorders
(Giesbrecht Merckelbach, 2008; Holtgraves Stockdale, 1997; Irwin, 2001). The realm of dissociative
disorders encompasses dissociative identity disorder (e.g. experience of two or more identity entities
taking control of one s behavior), dissociative amnesia (e.g. inability to recall important
autobiographical information related to a traumatic event), depersonalization (e.g. experience of an
unreal or absent self) derealization (e.g. objects/individuals experienced as unreal) disorder (DMS V,

Thoth Research Paper
The gods and goddesses of Greek culture correlate with those of other ancient polytheistic cultures.
Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, war and weaving, and one of the few female wisdom gods
in ancient cultures (Cartwright 1). In Mesopotamian culture, the goddess of wisdom, arts, crafts and
magic was known as Ea or Enki (Mark, Enki 1). Thoth was the Egyptian god of wisdom, magic, and
writing. Egyptians considered him one of the most important gods of their culture (Mark, Thoth 1).
They are all the centers of knowledge in their respective spiritual worlds, but Athena also uses her
wisdom to assist the people in battle and to help them fight strategically. The gods and goddesses of
wisdom had individual characteristics that distinguished ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, Thoth, the Egyptian God, was born from the forehead of Set, a leader among the Egyptian
gods. Unlike Athena, Thoth created himself through the Seed of Horus before erupting from Set
(Mark, Thoth 1). Enki was born, unlike the others, in the usual manner. His parents were the Sun God,
Anu and Namunu, the mother goddess (Mark, Enki 3). Athena and Thoth s birth from the head
symbolize their wisdom and focus on knowledge. Athena s physical appearance contradicts that of
Thoth, but is comparable to that of Enki. Athena s femininity distinguish her from the other gods of
wisdom. She, like the other Greek gods, has the body and appearance of a human being, but her
beauty outshadowed those of the humans. Enki had wings and a long beard, but otherwise has a
human figure. He looked as though he was an elderly philosopher, which was fitting because he was
the holder of all knowledge in the Mesopotamian culture. Thoth s head was that of a blue bird, and his
body was muscular. He did not have human beauty and was known for being inhumanly strong. The
masters of wisdom s beauty and grace reveal that they are more than human, even if they appear as
though they are merely mortal

Short Note On The Coffee Shop And Dilli Wali Girlfriend
I sat in the coffee shop, listening to Dilli Wali Girlfriend that played on the T.V. screen. It was
interesting how these cafés played Hindi songs. Especially, the ones I loved. The waiter dropped my
coffee off and left me to wait. My people were late. Ms. Saini, a voice called behind me. I stood up,
quietly, and gave my bosses forced smiles. They were two middle aged men and an older woman. Mr.
Mehra, Mr. Sharma, and Mrs. Khan, good to see you, I said as they joined me. Oh, we re so sorry,
Preet! Mrs. Khan said, taking the chair next to mine. You know Delhi traffic. Ah, of course. I do
happen to live an hour away from here, I replied. Same here, Mr. Mehra nodded. I am sorry, but I have

Mehra praised. Let me guess, you don t have anyone else to go represent the company? I said. The

Khan rolled her eyes and said, By selling, he means trying to get the Khurana company to work with
us. Make our company look good. If our company and their company combine, we can have crores
and crores of money! What s in it for me? A way better income and status. Also, your friend, Piyali, is
accompanying you, Mr. Mehra smiled. I weighed my options. If someone else went, they would either
fail and ruin everything, but if someone gets the deed done, we ll all get a better life. I ll do it. The
song on the T. V. changed to some old song with lyrics like, hum bhi hai josh mein, bate kar hosh
mein...(we re prepared for everything, say something that sounds sane). Great! they said
simultaneously. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. ___________________ Mumma, please
hat jao (please stop)! You re being irritating! I cried as she droned about her latest dream. My mother
was a lonely housewife who loved to gossip, but unfortunately, had no one to gossip with. Her most
favorite hobby was sharing her latest dreams. Right now, she was talking about seeing her dead
grandfather. But listen, Preet! she insisted, Your grandfather

  • 2. Age Of Exploration Pros There are many aspects of history that are considered to be controversial. The Age of Exploration was considered to be a positive achievement because of the discovery of the new world known as America. Although people believed this, there were a lot of things going on in the background that were very negative. The age of exploration should be considered a crime against humanity because of the deadly diseases, ruthless conquistadors, and the endless slavery. The Europeans who traveled from Europe to the Americas carried many diseases with them that affected the Native Americans drastically. Some of the diseases that were brought by the Europeans were influenza, smallpox, and measles. • 3. Bestiality In Jonas Liliequist s Peasant Against Nature Throughout history, humans have maintained a relationship with animals. In some cultures, animals have served as religious symbols and were worshipped by humans. As society progressed, humans began to play the more dominant role. Animals began to serve as a source of food, trade, transportation, and companion. With the frequent interaction between man and animals, boundaries were eventually crossed. In Peasants against Nature, Jonas Liliequist discussed the excessive cases of bestiality in seventeenth and eighteenth century Sweden and its inevitable occurrence. With his various sources, Liliequist proposed that bestiality occurred due to the frequent interactions between men and animals, lack of culture, sexual frustration, and basic curiosity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When witnessing acts of bestiality, people were in disbelief and petrified. Many reported fainting, dizziness, and nausea. People did not know how to react when they caught the bugger. They did not want to confront the bugger in fear of provoking violence. The ultimate fear was that they condemned themselves by simply witnessing the impure acts (65). Those who engaged in acts of bestiality were ostracized by society. No one wanted to be associated with them. Wives did not want to engage in sexual relations with their husbands. Similarly, the bugger s family did not want to share the same last name. No one wanted to touch the bugger or his belongings (68). Likewise, the animals who were victims of the assailants were considered impure. Their bodies were corrupted. Many owners chose to execute the animals because the milk was no longer drinkable, and their meat no longer viable. However, it was considered illegal to kill the animals until the trials. Despite being poor and resulting in an economic loss, farmers chose to kill the impure animals in order to distances themselves as much as possible from the bugger (71). • 4. Power Corruption in Heart of Darkness Essay In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the author fiercely challenges imperialism. Through this challenge, he demonstrates the internal battles of good and evil. In his work, he also displays issues of personal morals and alienation. At the time the novella was written, Europe had established territories across the map. It holds true that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, especially when said power reigns over the fate of humans in society. Conrad illustrates the corruption of power through the books motif of darkness and the renegade of Kurtz. Darkness makes a quick appearance in the literature because it s in the title. Darkness is seen on the river. And the river was there fascinating deadly like a snake. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The standard in the Victorian era was the men were far away, while the women were morally supportive, but oblivious to the reality of the man s work, although they economically benefitted from it. This proves the way power corrupts because Kurtz abused the opportunities given after falling from the edge of moral standards, even after his Intended attempts to show him the way. In 1902, when Conrad wrote the book, it was common to base culture off of superiority, therefore it was seen that Kurtz was in the Congo for the redemption of natives. In the text, Joseph Conrad gives much respect to the native tribes, Mr. Kurtz, however, has none. Exterminate all brutes! (Conrad 50) he says, claiming that if he cannot change the natives, they should be thrown out. He, and many people like him, introduced new cultures to societies that did not want it. The corruption of the spirituality found in some cultures is thus caused by the hunger for power from interference from separate societies. Power and happiness go hand in hand. When one abuses power it reveal their limitations and perhaps inability to maintain power to help the greater good. One of these may be the differences in laws for those in a position in power and those who are not, and abuse occurs through moral differences in such society. • 6. How Did Montag Change In Fahrenheit 451 When a society abandons the past, the future becomes more unfamiliar than ever before. This is a concept present throughout Ray Bradbury s novel Fahrenheit 451, in which the society has abandoned reading in its entirety. Guy Montag, the main protagonist in the story, is a fireman. The word fireman itself has lost its historical meaning in the story and has changed from men who put out fires to men who start fires and burn books. The reason these men burn books is because they were outlawed after people stopped reading them, and this is done in order to maintain social equality. With the abandonment of reading and intellectualism, society has changed and, arguably not for the better. The main character, Montag, slowly becomes more aware of the society he lives in through his new neighbor Clarisse McClellan, an old lady with a collection of books, and a known intellectual named Professor Faber. ... He listens and learns from her and learns what life can be from her. Clarisse gives Montag thoughts and ideas he has never had before and this sparks a strive for knowledge in Montag. Montag begins to ask questions, similar to how Clarisse does. The fireman wishes to learn more about his position in society and begins to slowly understand what is happening around him. The reader can tell the progression of awareness in Montag and there is an evident distinction of change throughout the story. • 11. Geography Of The Indus River Barrett, Emily Period 6 4/30/15 Geography The Indus River is located on the northwestern part of the sub continent with other rivers draining into it. Another river called the Ganges River was east of the Indus River. The climate was tropical and contained seasonal winds called monsoons. Monsoons during the winter were dry and went from land to the sea, letting little rain fall on the land. During summer monsoons wet winds go from ocean to land bringing rain with it. The mountain ranges, the Himalayas and Hindu Kush, were located near the north. The first civilization in the sub continent grew around the Indus River; later another civilization grew around the Ganges River. The rivers would flood and this leaves behind rich soils which makes plentiful crops that fed the civilization. Agriculture depends on the summer monsoon. If rain comes, there are no problems, but if it comes late or not at all crops die and people starve. Since they could not always depend on the monsoons they made irrigation channels that led to their crops. The Himalayas and Hindu Kush separated the sub continent from the rest of Asia. • 12. Three Exam Questions and Answers THREE EXAM QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS PETROLEUM GEOLOGY MY FIRST QUESTION AND ANSWERS 5) Discuss the different types of traps and seals and the importance of timing . Give an example related to the Middle East. Trap can be defined as shield against oil and gas movement. In other words, the trap system had been set up before the migration of oil and/or gas to this location. After coming across the trap, oil and gas finished their journey under the ground if the trap is settled well. (I ignore some leakage of them). By the way, trap could be just structure as barren or could be productive. The highest point of the trap is the crest, or culmination. The lowest point at which hydrocarbons may be contained in the trap is the spill point; this lies on a horizon contour, the spill plane. The vertical distance from crest to spill plane is the closure of the trap. A trap may or may not be full to the spill plane, a point of both local and regional significance. Note that in areas of monoclinal dip the closure of a trap may not be the same as its structural relief. This situation is particularly significant in hydrodynamic traps. The zone immediately beneath the petroleum is referred to as the bottom water, and the zone of the reservoir laterally adjacent to the trap as the edge zone. • 13. John Reflection The main purpose of the Book of John is to deliver the news of salvation to readers (Elwell Yarbrough, Encountering the New Testament: A Historical and Theological Survey, 101). Moreover, John includes Jesus performance of nine extraordinary signs that the author and many other people observed during Christ s ministry on earth. Their testimonies show readers that Jesus Christ is the almighty Son of God, and His wonders displayed His greatness. During Christ s time on earth, He served as a role model and provided teachings that serve as the basis that Christians still follow. Jesus served many roles, such as a teacher, servant, healer, and helper. Yet, many people were in awe of Jesus great power in John, and the eyewitness accounts, which portray the life of Jesus in this Gospel, inspired others to follow Christ (Encountering the New Testament: A Historical and Theological Survey, 97). Jesus miracles in John include: turning water into wine, healing people, feeding the five thousand, walking on water, resurrection, miraculous appearance of the fish, and raising Lazarus from the dead (Holy Bible, John, 2 21). The first marvel Jesus performed was when He changed the water into wine. Jesus and His disciples attended a marriage ceremony in Cana in Galilee, and Jesus mother informed Him that they drank all of it. Several pots were available. Thus, Jesus instructed the servants to fill up several containers of water and take some of it out to take to the man in charge of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Lottery Short Story Analysis Shirley Jackson s short story The Lottery is about an unusual traditionalistic small town that ironically gives the lottery a bad meaning. In the beginning of the story Jackson makes sure to describe the setting of the story. Jackson starts the story off by saying The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full summer day (1). This quote is very misleading because Jackson gives her audience a false sense of a welcoming environment. The town seems to be stuck in this traditionalistic way of doing things. When you think of the lottery one automatically thinks of money, but this story focuses more on the tragedy of the town. The story sets place in the town square with the towns people all gathered to carry out the lottery. The year is not stated but based on the description of the town s people one can assume that it is post war time. We learn that the lottery is not a one town event, but it is conducted across several towns. We expect it to be familiar to everyone since it seems to be a fun time for all the town members. The story talks about how children in the town are collecting stones before the lottery begins. Mr. Summers the conductor of the lottery is responsible for getting everything ready for the lottery. The lottery takes about 2 hours but some towns take sometimes even days. Once all the slips of paper are mixed in the box all the people from the list come up and draw a slip. Non traditional athletes in certain sports are partially unaccepted due to the fact that they are a first. In the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, a protagonist named Scrooge, was a selfish and mean person but then he changes throughout the story. The second reason why I called Scrooge a unfriendly person is because he didn t want to go to his nephew s dinner and he doesn t say kind things to people. The last reason why I think Scrooge is a kind person is because at the end he gave money to the poors and felt sorry for Tiny Tim. Scrooge does change from being selfish and unfriendly person to a kind person in the end. First, Scrooge is a selfish person and he only cares about himself. The author analyzes the historical aspect of the movie, regarding the Spanish civil war, emergence of the Nationalist regime, and the aftermath of the collapse of the Republicans. What s interesting about this Alvaro s analyzation is his belief that the movie mainly focuses on the aftermath of the war a situation many have forgotten or fail to bring up. The movie makes the war appear as if it s going on during the film, but the intertwining of Ofelia s fantasy, which is not represented as two different realms, but one cohesive, cause the author to believe the movie rests on the aftermath of the Civil War. He covers how the camera work and history help build and reinforce the themes in Children of Men (2006), directed by Alfonso Cuarón. His article opens by stating the importance of Theo s relatively calm reaction to the violent bombing that takes place. This leads to my argument on the influence that refugees and immigrants play in the film, as well silently referencing the tragic to 9/11 bombing. The frequent reference to them throughout the movie; being killed and violently contained behind fences and held in cages, address the familiarity of the worldwide problem of immigration. The fear of immigrants in the name of national security, is also evident in the film; even showing a Homeland Security banner later in the film. In the period of this movie, violence is not only enforced and upheld, it s ignored. Alfanso s analysis brought up character development, specifically Theo s dependence, which I had not even considered prior to this reading. In the beginning of the film he appears socially detached; faking sympathy to the news of Baby Diego s death with his coworkers in an attempt to hide his distaste of the government. • 19. Anxiety Sufferers Many of us anxiety sufferers have been so anxious for so long that we really have no idea of any other kind of life. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and nervous about everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other way. Some of us even try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while others try to convince themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety. But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious. Many of us have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not experienced it for years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing, however that failure might look like to us. Physical symptoms that we experience when are anxious can vary widely and can include sweating, tingling, or shaking, to name a few. However, those of us who have managed to grow past some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is it possible to be confident and relaxed most of the time, or all of the time? The answer to this question is relative, in my opinion. Some people may be happy with occasional confidence, while still being anxious in most situations. Others are happy to be confident in certain situations that enable one to enhance the quality of his or her life, situations such as one on one interpersonal interactions, being able to go out in public, or perhaps being able to drive a car. Others like me, who are idealists, want to completely eliminate that anxious feeling in all situations. Is this a realistic goal? The answer is probably no. But, if one continues to pursue complete relaxation as a goal, then one will notice that anxiety in many other situations reduces or eliminates entirely while pursuing this ... • 20. Analysis Of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home In Alison Bechdel s Fun Home, the author enlightens us with her struggles in determining her gender identity and sexuality. She does this in a very unique fashion. Alison, throughout the novel, uses specific pieces of literature and writing in order for the reader to decipher her true emotions and feelings toward her sexuality. On top of that, Bechdel writes her story in order to show how these objects play a much deeper role between not only comprehending her sexuality, but her understanding of her choppy relationship with her father. The end result is a series of connections that bring the two closer together than they ever were. Alison begins to question her sexuality in the third chapter of the novel. She discusses how her ... Clearly, Bruce is using his dedication towards the Fun Home as a way to hide away his true feelings towards his sexuality. This would explain why he also tries to get Alison to be more feminine, because he doesn t want her to be in that phase of confusion and not being able to fully come out. Going back to the scene with the phone call, because Alison has fully come out as being a lesbian, we now understand why Bruce acted so accepting of the realization. Another book that plays a role in this central theme of confusion towards one s true identity is The Catcher in the Rye. While the novel has many examples of books with hidden uncovering messages, the most prominent in my opinion is The Catcher in the Rye. In the scene where The Catcher in the Rye is mentioned, Alison is in her father s english class and she s the only person answering his questions. What s interesting is that when her father initially asks her to read the book, she responds that she ll do it after I put you in the nursing home (Bechdel 198). While it seems that Alison is going to chose not to read the book in order to resent her father, in the very next panel she s answering all of his questions. Her father is impressed and tells her that she s the only one in that class worth teaching and Alison responds with It s the only class I have worth taking (Bechdel ... The Winter s Tale Essay The present paper attempts to make an analysis of William Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale, an Elizabethan tragicomedy and Harold Pinter s The Birthday Party, a modern tragicomedy. But these are tragicomedies with a difference. The Winter s Tale moves from tragedy in the first half to comedy in the second half. Things end well for all the major characters although there is suffering and sadness and the loss of lives cannot be undone. The Birthday Party, on the other hand, is a dark comedy. • 22. User Authentication in Computer Security 1 INTRODUCTION User authentication is a most important component in most computer security. It provides user with access control and user accountability. As we know there are many types of user authentication systems in the market but alphanumerical username/passwords are the most common type of user authentication. They are many and easy to implement and use. Due to the limitation of human memory, most users tend to choose short or simple passwords which are easy to remember. Surveys show that frequent passwords are personal names of family members, birth date, or dictionary words. In most cases, these passwords are easy to guess and vulnerable to dictionary attack. Today users have many passwords for personal computers, social networks, E mail, and more. They may decide to use one password for all systems to decrease the memory burden, which reduce security. Graphical passwords is harder to guess or broken by brute force. If the number of possible pictures is sufficiently large, the possible password space of a graphical pass word scheme may exceed that of text based schemes and thus most probably offer improved security against dictionary attacks. The use of graphical password methods is gaining awareness because of these advantages. Graphical passwords were originally described by Blonder. In his description, an image would appear on the screen, and the user would click on a few chosen regions of it. If the correct regions were clicked in, the user would be ... In many countries, a girl is seen as powerless, uneducated, and too emotional to handle a man s job. For example, women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive. In the past, writers used to describe a woman s role as the victim of many forms of discrimination in the United States of America. In other words, women were only involved in things that men thought were not important. For instance, women did not have any other role than being a housewife. They had to stay at home, watch the children, be responsible, and do all the chores. Nonetheless, American women got their freedom earlier comparing to other countries in the world. Kerry Cohen, as a practicing psychotherapist and writing teacher, provides in her book different resources and website where teen girls can get more information about these symptoms. Another second reason why teen girls are victimized is the culture of this society. Teen girls are told to be princesses when they are small. However when they are grown up they are told by their parents that they are too young to use inappropriate cloth. When they go out and meet other teens who wear sexy cloths, they are getting mixed feeling about it. Another example is when they watch TV they see girls in sexy cloths and they automatically think that it is right. The TV uses girls in bikinis to attract the audience. Even more, when teen girls go to school, they want to fit in their group of friends by wearing the same cloths because that is what they make them seem cool. Therefore, how they are seen by others is more important than anything. Image comes first. They must do anything to fit in the Cinderella s shoe. • 29. The Derivatives Of Cellulose Cellulose is a well known carbohydrate that is currently being impressively utilized within the food industry. Derivatives of cellulose, can be used to improve texture, to act as edible microcomposite films, and to provide antibacterial packaging. Some cellulose derivatives are carboxymethyl cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, and microfibrillated cellulose (Belitz et al. 2009). Cellulose is a polysaccharide derived from plant cell walls that is digestible by the enzyme cellulase (Belitz et al. 2009). Humans can not digest cellulose because cellulase is not present in the digestive tract, however this indigestible carbohydrate is a major component of dietary fiber and improves digestion (Belitz et al. 2009). On the other hand, herbivores have rumen microflora that can hydrolyze cellulose (Belitz et al. 2009). Cellulose consists of a flat and linear structure containing hydrogen bonds that form polycrystalline fiber bundles (Huber and BeMiller 2017). There are repeating glucopyranosyl units bound by 14 glycosidic linkages which form pleated chains parallel to the direction of the fibers (Belitz et al. 2009). The source of the cellulose affects the degree of polymerization which can range from 1000 to 14000 (Belitz et al. 2009). The hydrogen bonds that stabilize the parallel chains cause cellulose to have a high molecular weight and be insoluble in water, however it can be modified to become water soluble gums (Huber and BeMiller 2017). ... Examples Of Insecurities In The World s Wife In The World s Wife, Duffy challenges recognized historical, fictional and mythological characters from the perspective of the women, reflections on relations between men and women, the responsibilities and experiences of partners and lovers, for whom love and relationship are more complicated than feelings others get. Some of these poems are touched with resentment, others with blush worthy love. The combination of theme and stylistic variation means that the reader cannot help but prefer some pieces to others. Medusa is one of the Gorgons three sisters from Greek mythology, famous for having snakes for hair and for turning people to stone. Medusa has always been well known among people, and was well known for having unapproachable looks but Duffy tells her story so that the reader can gain sympathy for Medusa, a monstrous character. The presence of absurdity in Chronicle of a Death Foretold Magical realism is a prevalent technique throughout all of Gabriel Garcia Marquez s writings. Magical realism is a literary technique in which realistic narrative and naturalistic technique are combined with surreal elements of dream or fantasy. It includes elements of matter of fact narrative, the fantastic and the mundane. Throughout the story characters are always asked why they didn t tell anyone about the Vicario brothers plan. In the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold Garcia Marquez uses elements of magical realism to convey how honor is used to justify unjustifiable actions. In the novel, honor is taken very seriously. Garcia Marquez uses matter of fact narrative to show that honor is more important than what is true. No one ever questions an action that is done for the sake of preserving someone s honor. It is believed to be a fundamental moral trait that every person should have. A person without honor is an outcast in the community. Many characters are motivated by honor, just like the Vicario brothers, Pablo and Pedro. While away, people will inevitably attempt to steal your possessions, seduce your spouse, and act as though you will never return. Most likely, more people will try to harm your estate than those who will continue working and behaving in an honest manner. This notion holds true in Homer s epic poem, The Odyssey. While Odysseus wages war and struggles to return to Ithaka , a multitude of suitors court his wife and live at the cost of his possessions. • 40. Economic Depression and Hitler s Rise to Power Essay Economics Depression and Hitler s Rise to Power The economic depression 1923 1929, contributed to Hitler s rise to power in many ways. The first thing that led to the economic crisis was when the German economy collapsed, as a result of the depression and low employment. This was a result of the Treaty of Versailles that forced Germany to pay reparations to the allies. The German people protested that it was an intolerable strain on the economy, but the German government ignored it. The German government did their best to play for time and to negotiate concessions from the allies, but because the French were quite impatient and also had to pay war debts to the USA they wanted there ... People then started to work again and Stressman brought in a new currency. Things were looking a bit better than before. In this situation Hitler s ideas were becoming relevant to the times, because the German people were unemployed and in a depression, they were venerable to Hitler and his strong power. The German nation was scared and apprehensive about the future of their country. The League of Nations then tried to help by making their whole society a safe place where wars were only things of the past. The League held a disarmament conference, but like most things the League did it was a failure, which people were not satisfied with. This was a good time for Hitler to make his move, because of the current state Germany was in. Hitler rose to power. The people needed someone to turn to for help, who was strong and could be heard and Hitler was there. During the economic crisis Hitler used his oratory skills to help him gain power. Hitler s personality and leadership was better than any other of Germans previous chancellors, he was able to mesmerize people. In many of Hitler s speeches he stated how he disliked the treaty of Versailles and wanted to abolish its terms. Hitler made such a big deal of this, so that the German people also ... • 41. History Of The Periodic Table Of Elements Leonardo Miranda Mr. Tagami Chemistry 10/24/14 History of the Periodic Table of Elements The construction of the Periodic Table of Elements was prior to the discovery of the individual elements. Elements such as silver, gold, tin, copper, lead and mercury have been known for centuries. In 1649, the first scientific discovery of an element was made by Hennig Brand when he discovered phosphorous. Prior to Brand s discovery, chemists had acquired an immense body of understanding concerning the properties of elements and their compounds for the next 200 years. By the year 1869, a collection of 63 elements had been revealed. As the number of known elements increased, scientists began to notice patterns in properties and formulate classification schemes. In 1862, a French geologist, A.E.Beguyer de Chancourtois, recorded a list of the elements on a cylinder regarding their individual atomic weights. He was the first to identify that elemental properties reoccur every seven elements. There has been some deviation on who deserves credit for being the father of the periodic table, either the German Lothar Meyer or the Russian Dmitri Mendeleev. Both chemists shockingly produced similar results during the same time period working individually. Meyer s 1864 textbook included a shortened version of the periodic table, which contained about half of the known elements ordered by their atomic weight and valence charges. In 1868, Meyer assembled a prolonged version of the periodic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Advertising Guitars with Suicide and Sex Ads are made to grab a certain audience and make that audience relate to the specific ad or make them want to go out and purchase the product that is being promoted. Many ads are trying to sell specific items; but if a person really analyses the ad, the company is selling or promoting more than one item. In this ad the company Gibson is promoting a specific guitar to be sold. In the ad there is a six string, electric guitar standing up with the wording, If this doesn t get you laid you should just commit suicide. In the lower right hand corner of the ad, the company s name Gibson is printed. This six string guitar is popular for beginning music artists. In this ad the company Gibson is using pathos, ethos, and logos to get the audience s attention. The Gibson guitar ad explicitly sells guitars, but it implicitly sells sex and suicide. Gibson guitars are directing this ad to older teenage and young male adults. The audience is young enough that they are still debating on what career path that they want to go down. To some of this audience, this ad would grab their attention by thinking this guitar should get them laid. This aspect would be directed mainly towards young males. Also, some guitars give the sexy and spontaneous impression, which in a young male s eyes, is a perfect career. The ad is also saying that if a person doesn t get laid because of a guitar, they should just kill themselves. By analyzing the statement and ad picture, music involves sex and ... The film Yojimbo was plagiarized by Sergio Leone when he made A Fistful Of Dollars and Kurosawa sued for royalties. A Fistful Of Dollars is a 1964 spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone starring Clint Eastwood. The film was shot on a low budget. It is part of the Dollars Trilogy A Fistful Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad The Ugly. One particular detail is the use of substances in their mouths. I am referring to how the characters are consistently occupied with some form of object that they are either chewing or smoking. This bill would allow water authorities to propose a referendum for the cessation of fluoridation of county water supply. As a citizen of district 3 and of a fluoridated county, I would greatly appreciate the ability to vote for whether or not I would like to consume water with fluoride in it. I believe that a choice in the matter would greatly benefit every county and its citizens. I participated in a few sports but will play any sport for fun. I thrive to watch sports and keep up with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and all the college sports. My family has enjoyed sports forever and the love has been handed down from generation to generation. Issues in sports have always been around and will continue to be around for ages. In my early elementary days, I played upwards of 5 sports. Flag and tackle football brought me joy because I could throw the ball to the receivers or run downfield if they were not open. I enjoy watching all the NBA games because of the crazy shots and adjustments they can make to get a bucket. The MLB attracts my attention the least barely liking any of the teams/players, so whenever I go to an MLB game I always cheer for the home team. Growing up in the middle of Iowa, several of my friends like Iowa State. I try to be respectful to them but I must put them in their place when they smack talk me. I have brainwashed my parents and siblings to like the Broncos and Hawkeyes along with me. My brothers in law are the toughest though because they are extremely big Cyclone fans. Personal issues that I have had in sports include coaching. At my school, my teammates dads were always the coach which makes it quite bias when they come to setting lineup. In the statement provided in the case, despite the increasing operating profit since 2001, the profit margin remains to be low. In order to address such problem, the company may opt to offer discounts in certain time of the day to boost the sales of its bread. For instance the bakeshop may provide 50% discount on its baked goods when stores are about to close. In doing so, it will not only reduce the spoilage of the bakeshop, but would also broaden the appeal of the bakery café to a bigger market. The discount serves as a tool to segment the market that the company is catering into, and thus be able to maximize the sales per target market. The nature of dissociative symptoms such as depersonalization, derealization and absorption has been studied by researchers in a systematic manner during the past decades. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the clinical literature it is very common the distinction between dissociative states and dissociative traits (e.g. Bremmer, 2010; Bremmer Brett, 1997), whereas state dissociation is described as a transient symptom and trait dissociation is described as an innate personality characteristic. The prevalence of dissociative symptoms in both clinical and non clinical populations leads to the notion that dissociation is a continuum (Bernstein Putnam, 1986) which extends from non pathological manifestations of daydreaming to severe distortions of personality typical of dissociative disorders (Giesbrecht Merckelbach, 2008; Holtgraves Stockdale, 1997; Irwin, 2001). His parents were the Sun God, Anu and Namunu, the mother goddess (Mark, Enki 3). Athena and Thoth s birth from the head symbolize their wisdom and focus on knowledge. Athena s physical appearance contradicts that of Thoth, but is comparable to that of Enki. Athena s femininity distinguish her from the other gods of wisdom.
