Barabas And Hamlet Research Paper
Christopher Marlowe is well known for his tragic Marlovian character, the morally ambiguous
hero. Barabas of The Jew of Malta is a prime example. His character is greedy, ruthless, and the
murderer of the citizens of Malta. Yet the audience still roots for this character as he commits sin
after sin in the name of justice. He is ambitious and charismatic, and unjust circumstances earn him
sympathy. Shakespeare, inspired by the idea of a villainous hero, creates a marlovian character with
a twist. The character of Hamletexhibits the same qualities of the Marlovian character, but lacks to
drive to execute his revenge, as he deliberates on his own morality.
The forefront similarity between the characters of Hamlet and Barabas is their desire ... Show more

His ploy of madness is nothing but a delay of action. Hamlet is highly aware of the severity of
the crime he is planning to commit and bides his time in taking any formal action. His hesitation
comes from his awareness of his own moral ambiguity. Hamlet expresses contempt for his
cowardliness but admits hesitation as the ghost, may be the devil...perhaps out of my weakness
and my melancholy, as he is very potent with such spirits, abuses me to damn me (Shakespeare
2.2.628 632). With this he acknowledges the possible consequence on his soul for his crime.
Once Hamlet gains the proof he hunted for of Claudius guilt, he continues with his excuses.
Hamlet believes if Claudius is killed while he is praying his soul will be forgiven and go straight
to heaven. The Danish prince claims this is hire and salary, not revenge (Shakespeare 3.3.84),
therefore losing an uncomplicated opportunity to kill Claudius. Due to his hesitation throughout
the play, enough time passes for a murder plot to be conspired against him. This leads to his
ultimate downfall but also springs him into action. In the final scene, Hamlet has only moments to
live and morality is no longer of value. Here he is at his most Marlovian, as he vindictively murders

Poliomyelitis Case Study
In Senator Barbara Boxer s letter to Director Frieden, she addresses the issue on the rare polio
like disease that has affected at least twenty children in California over the last eighteen months.
This polio like disease is causing paralysis in one or more of the children s limbs. Senator
Barbara is concerned that the CDC is not taking action on researching what is causing this
horrible disease and she wants to know what they are doing to find answers (Longest, 2016,
p.272). Senator Barbara is urging the CDC to investigate this rare polio like disease. Barbara is
requesting that the CDC undertake a geographic analysis of where these cases are occurring in
California (2017). Senator Boxer is also requesting that the CDC answer several questions... Show

Scientists have been trying to determine what caused the polio like paralysis that first started
with cold like symptoms. In an updated article in the San Francisco Chronicle, 2/27/2014,
scientists believe there is a link with the virus Enterovirus D68 but the evidence is
circumstantial. More research needs to be done to determine if the new strains of the old virus is
causing polio like paralysis in children (Allday, 2017). The CDC has reported this outbreak has
occurred in more than 40 states and at least 200 cases reported. Research is finding the D68
enterovirus is related to the virus that causes unexplained paralysis in arms and legs. Researchers
believe that once the enteroviruses move outside the gut or airways it can then go after the nerve

Beer played an important part to ancient civilization,it ended their nomadic way of life.
Beer was made from cereal grains ( barley and wheat). It was their staple beverage, it played an
important role to their religious and new lifestyle. In stone ages beer was used to show
hospitality and friendship. For some (Neolithic people) beer was a gift from god, making it a
main offering at religious functions, for the Egyptians they believed that it can cure sickness and
used beer as a medicine. Beer drinking led to the adoption of farming. Beer was safer to drink than

Human Construction Workers
Since the introduction to computers and the evolvment of them, humans are being replaced in all
industries including construction. In fifty years from now, human construction workers will be
drastically reduced or totally replaced. To once was thought of as science fiction, like CP30 and
R2D2 from Star Wars, this has become our new reality. In researching the question, will
computerized robots replace humanconstruciton workers? My answer is yes. In this paper, I will
explain and demonstrate, through my research, why I believe that computerized robots will be
replaced by human construction workers.
The industry has evolved from human hand drawn paper blueprints to computer generated
blueprints and home designs. For example, in certain fields they are using computer laser guided
cutting systems for granite glass and concrete. As far as the robotic end of it, we ve got remote
controlled boom trucks that lift materials. There are also concrete pump trucks that are remotely
controlled to pour concrete. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Weaknesses And Threats Of Go Negosyo
Weaknesses and threats
The major drawback of industrial, mining is the damage mining operations cause to the
environment. Removal of large areas of topsoil can destroy habitats, and the chemicals used in
mining operations can leach into the groundwater and pollute the area. Air pollution and radioactive
pollution are other possible downsides.
Moreover, a potential danger is geologic instability. The depletion of resources and the damage to
both underground and surface environments (e.g. produced water, coal slag, strip mining) the danger
posed to men engaged in mining (cave ins, explosions, gas, black lung disease, asbestosis, silicosis,
and radiation sickness). The mining operations could damage our environment broadly that can
cause catastrophes such as soil erosions, mudflows, degradation of earth s foundation, and flash

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Abrasive Jet Machining
Sapphire0.2 0.8 300
Abrasive:
The most common abrasive materials used for Abrasive jet machining are aluminum oxide, silicon
carbide. Sodium bicarbonates, glass beads of small grain size and dolomite are used for cleaning
and polishing purpose. The selection of abrasive material depends on the work material, machining
operation and required material removal rate.
The size of the material is also important. The material removal rate (MRR) depends on the grain
size. The coarse grains give high MRR, and they are recommended for cutting. The finer grains are
useful in finishing operation. However, the finer grain tends to stick together and cause a clog in
the nozzle. The grain must be sharp edged, but fine enough to remain ... Show more content on

Thin sections of brittle and hard material like ceramic, glass, and germanium can be machined.
Disadvantages of Abrasive Jet Machining: The material removal rate is low. The process tends to
environmental pollution. A dust collection system must be provided to avoid air pollution and
health hazards. This can be eliminated by using abrasive water jet machining. The abrasive
powder cannot be reused because its cutting ability decrease and it may clog on orifice of the
nozzle. Higher chance of stray cutting*. Tapering may occur during drilling. AJM not suited for
machining of soft material because the abrasive may get embedded in the work material. Nozzle
life is low (300hr), and short standoff distance causes frequent damages on the nozzle. The air used
for abrasive jet must be moister and oil free.
* Stray cutting is an over cutting of material during machining process. It results in a non uniform
cutting surface. Stray cutting is unavoidable if cutting operation not properly controlled.
Applications:
AJM is suitable for machining heat sensitive material like silicon, gallium because the heat
generation during the machining is very

How Is Betrayal Shown In 1984
Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a trust, and often it is seen as an act of disloyalty with
unrecoverable consequences. In the fictional novel 1984, by George Orwell, the author uses
betrayal as a recurring theme which is highlighted throughout the book. The existence of fear causes
individual character s betrayal to the others as the government controls every aspect of the society
and destroys trust among its citizens. It demonstrates that how no amount of love or loyalty to
someone could overcome the Big Brother in the society which the book describes. Through the
continuation of this abnormal society, Winston faces with the ultimate betrayal against himself. In

her parents told her about all of the bad things in the forest she just wants to explore and leave

Although India is a developing country, in the last few years due to economic crises, the country
has been facing numerous challenges. Despite the situation, very recently it has been
acknowledged that the Indian market has seen as increase in the demand for luxury items
specially Luxury Cars. Another fact to be considered is that the demand of such cars is not only
increased in Tier I cities but also in Tier II and Tier III cities. In view of this shift in buying

Lamborghini and others now have their eye on Indian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most significant barriers comprises the brand equityenjoyed by most established brands.
The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar,
Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the
companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality
and of top notch quality and performance.
Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the
traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the
prestige of brands with years of history.
Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in
general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R
D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve
economies of scale. The capital requirements are one of the main reasons why new luxury brands
have been produced by companies which were already present in the market as large car
manufacturers (Toyota s Lexus and Nissan s Infiniti) and not by new, free standing,

The Economic Success Of The 21st Century
In the 21st century it is correct to claim that our interconnected world is becoming smaller. With
globalization, the nature of economy and politics is vividly transforming. United States is the
best example as the trail blazer of the new policies, changes and with that, U.S. is a role model
for world s powers. Looking from the economist s perspective of how to explain such advantage,
open door trade is one of the factors that explain its success. Great number of economists stands
unified in support of free trade. This paper will discuss some major points that revolve around the
central idea which explains that in order to achieve economic success in today s world requires free

(Bergsten 1996, 109). The successful example of bicycle moving forward is the Uruguay Round
conclusion. (Bergsten 1996, 109). Following that NAFTA and such, have made a significant
progress in resolving debate in the international trade arena. Liberalist economists insist that with
openness toward international trade, countries benefit in multiple segments and knowledge is one
of the major exchanges which are crucial for improvement. ( O Brien Williams 2013,112)
Therefore, it is important to understand liberalist perspective at first. Economic liberalist view
human nature acting rational in order to maximize their self interest. This theory strongly support
the thought where individuals when acting rationally create markets which produce, distribute and
consume goods function best free. This way international wealth is maximized with exchange of
goods and services which is also a comparative advantage based theoretical aspect. (Mingst Toft,
2104, 310) With Ricardo s comparative advantage, it s important to mention specialization of a
commodity that a specific country can produce more efficiently in exchange for another commodity.

[7] Functions of Management Accounting Management accountants contribute to the company s
decisions about strategy, planning, and control, by scorekeeping, attention directing and problem
solving.[8] Scorekeeping: It refers to the accumulation of data and the reporting of reliable results to
all levels of management. Examples of scorekeeping are the recording of actual revenues and
purchases relative to budgeted amounts.[9] Attention Directing: Helping managers focus on
opportunities and problems. Attention directing means getting managers to focus on all
opportunities that would add value to the company and not to focus only on cost reduction
opportunities. An example is highlighting rapidly growing markets where the company may be
under funding its investment. [10] Problem Solving: It refers to the comparative analysis
undertaken to identify the best alternatives in relation to the organisation s goals. An example is
comparing the financial advantages of leasing a fleet of motorcycles rather than owning those
motorcycles.[11] Different decisions place different emphasis on these three roles. For strategic
decisions and planning decisions, the problem solving role is most prominent. For control decisions
(which include both actions to implement planning decisions and decisions about performance
evaluation), the scorekeeping and attention keeping and attention directing roles are most

The current Czech Republic as we know it, was established in January of 1993 when
Czechoslovakia split into two independent countries. The peaceful separation created the Czech

History
The indigenous population of Czechoslovakia were the Slavic tribes. These tribes were made up of
West Slavs tribes who were the Poles, the Czechs and the Slovaks. The East Slavs tribes consisted
of Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusian s. The South Slavs tribes consisted of Bulgarians,

Everyone, at one or time, has succumbed to the pressure of doing something against his or her
wishes. In George Orwell s essay Shooting an Elephant, Orwell recounts his earlier years as a sub
divisional officer in British occupied Burma. With their bitter hatred for the white men, the native
Burmese would taunt and harass them. Although Orwell sympathizes with the Burmese and against
the British, their constant jeering led made him hate his job even more. The crux of this story
occurs when Orwell receives a phone call to do something about a rampaging elephant that has

It gave me a better glimpse than I had had before of the real nature of imperialism the real
motives for which despotic governments act. Against his wishes, he shoots the elephant. He is
the only one is the crowd with a weapon and the natives expect it to come easily to him with him
being a white man. He comes to the realization that as a leader, because he essentially is in this
scenario, all freedom is lost, and that everything is done not to please oneself but everyone else.
He suffers with this internal conflict and tries to compromise with himself about the situation.
As the title of the essay suggests, readers already know he will shoot it. It is for his sake, for the
sake of all white men in the East. As he said in the essay, he had already committed to shooting
the elephant when he sent for the elephant rifle. His initial idea of shooting his rifle to scare it
rather than kill it would have been the easier option. The option provided less guilt and pain. He
would not have had to waste so many shots on killing the poor creature, who did not die until half
an hour later with multiple shots in his brain, heart, and throat. It is an excruciating way to go and
an unnecessary way. He and the Burmese died for the sole and insignificant purpose of saving the

Similarities Between Lincoln And Julius Caesar
Betrayal in the political world prevails and has considerably changed the course of world history.
Both Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln, two of the most prominent leaders, experienced such
betrayal. Despite this, the lives of these two men share more remarkable similarities. Through an
analysis of their historical context, their unique similarities and differences will be portrayed.
. Born to an aristocratic family around 100 B.C, Gaius Julius Caesar made many contributions to
Roman history. Caesar possessed a charming personality and an intelligent mind. As a well
educated man, he served as a skilled and successful politician, lawyer, and military general,
conquering much land for the Roman Empire. This connection with politics and the military gained
him support and popularity among the plebeians. In 59 BC., Caesar was elected consul with the
help of Crassus, a wealthy patrician, and another general, Pompey. Later, these three men formed an
alliance called the Three Triumvirate, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His preparations during his reign fueled future achievements for the commoners. According to
Plutarch, Caesar made preparations to provide merchantmen a safe as well as an easy passage to
Rome...convert marshes about Pomentinum and Setia into a plain which many thousands of men
could cultivate...construct harbours and roadsteads sufficient for the great fleets that would visit
them. Perhaps, the most providential effect he gave to the Roman people was tax alleviations and
realignment of the Roman calendar. These celebrated works won favor from the Roman plebeians,
however, filled the nobles of Rome with hate. Either envious of his fame or fear from his zealous
power, a group of conspirators ended his autocratic ways as the dictator. The main conspirators,
Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus, assassinated Caesar in 44 BC with an artful

Antigone Why People Take Action
Why should people take action? In the play Antigone by Sophocles Antigone takes action by
burying her brother which no one was supposed to do. She did it because she felt it was only
right. People should take action whenever they feel ,there are various reasons such as their
feelings emotionally , fairness, the good well being of others, or just whenever they deem
morally correct. There are many reasons why people should take action, for example, for fairness.
Why fairness, well because fairness is everything, a lot wouldn t be right if there were no fairness,
and i feel as if everything is fair it just makes everyone happy. So when it comes down to stepping
up for fairness it plays a big role as far as taking action because you re not... Show more content on

Why, simply because if you feel you are correct about a point you re trying to prove then you
should stand on it and fight for it. For instance in the play Antigone when she was arguing with
creon, basically trying to prove his laws aren t fair. I believe this connects my main point mainly
because she saw something wrong and felt something needed to be said. On top of that, people
need to take action if they feel they are correct because if you see a problem and nothing is said
then stuff may just get worse. Another example would just be continuing off Antigone standing
up to creon, I feel as if the whole situation was demoralizing for the people until Antigone, the one
person who finally decided to say something, even with her life on the line for doing what she
did on the same hand still had plenty of people behind her. This just proves that people should
step up when they feel they are correct because when you step up you then have people to support
you the chances are you are going to win. In the end the whole point of this is to just say if you
think you are correct about something that should be done then stand for it and fight for it and
maybe in the end you may make a

How Children s Services Have Evolved Into Their Current Form
This essay will show how and why children s services have evolved into their current form in the
UK. It will explore children s services from the 19th to the 21st century and show how they have
changed and developed. This essay will look at the welfare state in relation to the Beveridge
report, the creation of the NHS and other children s services, political ideologies and policies and
legislation. It will conclude with modern day future challenges of children s services including
the five social evils. Children s services support and protect vulnerable children, young people,
their families and carers. (nhs.co.uk) According to Malcolm Hill (2012), if as societies are to
achieve the best for all children and particularly who are in need, it will require providing them
with the best possible services. During the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901, there
was great wealth and also great poverty. Most middle class children worked in factories and
mills; factory owners employed children as they didn t complain and were also cheap to pay.
During Victorian Britain, there were no laws to protect children from work. Lord Shaftesbury
argued in parliament for laws to be changed; inspectors went into factories to find out what they
were really like, this resulted in three laws to be passed. These were 1841 Mines Act, 1847 Ten
Hour Act and 1874 Factory Act. By 1874 no child under ten would be employed in factories.

The Media and Comparative Politics
Today, in our society, a major form of educating the public is through media. Media is constantly
playing key roles for our political system along with informing the public with crucial
knowledge about other countries. It has helped changed the way the human population interacts
with each other as well as developing a more unified opinion among the subjects, which it
affects. Media is a form of communicating with one another that tries to provoke a certain
message. Usually it is opinionated in some way that persuades the audience to agree with what
they are watching. We consider media to be television, radio, magazines, newspapers, etc. All of
these forms have one sole purpose and that is to relay a message to its audience. Both positive
and negative results can come from this. Usually it manipulates information for ones own benefit.
In different governments, politicians as well as interest groups do this on a daily basis to
persuade others to support their beliefs. Then media is brought up again when discussing
comparative politics, playing a crucial role when comparing struggles among State borders.
Government has heightened power when using the different forms of media because the dramatic
influence the media plays to its viewers. Without the usage of media, we would be unable to
obtain important information as fast and we would be unaware of other events taking place in our
world. Media today, is what tries to build our world into one globally involved community. One of

Cultural Turmoil in Francis Ford Coppola s Apocalypse Now
The era of the 1960 s was one of change, just like so many of the enduring songs say. With words
like revolution and freedom being used to promote movements that changed our society forever.
The most important being the Civil Rights movement, and arguably the most influential: the sexual
revolution. While great new ideas and beliefs were starting to take root, morals and social
constructs that had been established were endangered of being lost in the mix. The moral code that
had endured for so long was suddenly overlooked, or overpowered by a generation that was not
interesting in listening to the older, conventional generations. The pressure to find new ways of

(Brantlinger, 262). The soldiers in the movie may have been an exaggeration of true life, but
Coppola s interpretation reflects one who personally experienced the cultural reaction. The images
on television, the political demonstrations, the movements, even the arrival of psychedelic drugs,
all escalated the nation in a way that was unprecedented. Coppola brought that heightened sense of
awareness to the cinematic experience.
The film starts with a song The End by the Doors. The lyrics of the song, written by the infamous
Jim Morrison, describe a story like Oedipus: I ll never look into your eyes...again , Father, yes
son, I want to kill you . Some have speculated this to be parallel to the plot, and also correlates
back to Heart of Darkness. Also as in Heart of Darkness, Coppola s frame creates an appropriate
bridge between the bizarre tale about to unfold and the wider context of modern cultural
experience. (Greiff). It is a significant symbol of the time. Jim Morrison was well known as a
drug user, poet, and an all around menace to a lawful society. His rebellious persona was not
uncommon for his time, he was a voice for a generation that believed the time to hesitate is
through. The song plays with scenes of a burning jungle: Coppola s uncomfortable tone is set.

Human Sacrifice In The Aztec Religion
ESSAY QUESTION #1:
The idea of human sacrifice leaves a bad taste in the typical Christian s mouth. In comparison to a
first world point of view, the Aztecs outlook seemed incredibly primitive. Simply put, human
sacrifice would not be in my grandmother s agenda; not in her day, not in her week, not in her
lifetime. However, this would not be the case if she were as invested in the Aztec religion of 1349
CE.
During this time period, human sacrifice was a powerful form of religious practice in many
Mesoamerican cultures. More often than not, the spiritual performance began with war rather than
the modern Christian s custom of attending church. The Aztec nation housed a surplus of young,
strong men and as a result, was a powerhouse in battle due to their immense military power. Each
war occurred for the sole purpose of capturing victims for sacrificial ceremonies. Due to their
obsessive nature over war, body counts were considered to be of vast important in this community
and it was a huge ordeal for the warrior who performed a capture, ... Show more content on

Which brings me to the question: why doesn t Christianity incorporate the idea of God feeling
irritated with his creations? We do not seem to be influencing much positive change on Earth, but
rather destroying what we have been given. Why does this God allow his human creations to
devour his world so mercilessly and all the while not require some form of more extreme ritual?
Attending church service seems incredibly mundane in comparison to the intensity of human
sacrifice in Mesoamerican culture. Is listening to a man or woman interpret the Bible for a short
forty five minute period simply enough for this God? I find it interesting that the Aztecs feel as if
they owe it to their gods for creating them, while Christians aim to simply be faithful enough to
gain access to heaven after

Performance Management At The Hospital System
Performance management issues can become present in a workplace at any time. I have recently
seen three issues take place at the hospital system that I work in. The first is turnover of leadership
with no trained replacements. The second is having poor management in the clinics. The last
example is the removal of trained employees by the software implementation team. Challenges can
be cross training, experienced employee hiring, and the stopping of trained employee removal. The
threats are no one knows how to perform the job, failure of company, and making mistakes. In the
selected article, it goes into detail to explain the aspects of performance management(Pollitt, 2013).

No one completely understood what this person was doing on a day to day basis. This was
because no one had been involved with this particular position. When this person decided to leave
the position, it created chaos. There was no one completely qualified for the position. Another
person in the department was promoted to the position. The new person in the position had no
experience in the area. It became stressful for everyone that was involved. Others were having to
pick up the slack in work that this person did not understand. Even though no one was totally
qualified, there were others that did understand the area better than the person that was promoted.
The next example that I will write about is the management of some of the clinics in the system.
The issue has been that no one has managed the clinics long. Usually the management is let go
due to poor outcome. People that had been hired have always wanted to make drastic changes and
expect to see results quickly. Of course, it takes time and steps to see the results that new
management expects to see. The last example that I would like to discuss is the effects of software
transitions. We are currently in the middle of a software installation. In order for this to occur,
many of the system employees have changed over to the software implementation team. This means
that many departments in the hospital have been forced to hire new people. The new employees
have struggled to understand the

The Wicked Step Grandmother s Lament
One of the world s best known stories is that of Cinderella. Variations of this tale exist in cultures
all across the world from Spanish America to Russia to Vietnam, and it has been pulled apart and
reimagined into several different forms on the page, stage, and screen. But the incarnation of the
story that is probably the most familiar is the one by Charles Perrault, with its signature Fairy
Godmother and glass slippers. Despite being published in 1697, it is still popular enough that it
was remade for the umpteenth time earlier this year. While the tale obviously has a timeless appeal,

fist to his mouth in shock, and third running for the door. The movement of Bekert causes a
reaction from the crowd and guards, who force him back down the stairs in a chaotic struggle.
By allowing the rise and fall of Bekert s emotions from calm, to shock, to complete panic, a
pattern is established for the remainder of the scene and supports the control the criminals have
over Bekert s fate. Degradingly, Bekert is thrown to the ground onto a pile of wood, shown in a
high angle shot as the crowd yells at him. The crowd is silenced by the judges, the lead judge
voice overlaying a tracking medium shot of all the other panel members as he explains their

will not accept any fate for him besides death. Bekert attempts to yell back at them, but is silenced

The Option of Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removing is a worth considering option for those who are tired of shaving, waxing, or
tweezing for the removal of unwanted hair. It is one of the most common procedures done for
removing hair in the United States.
The procedure of hair removal is done by beaming highly concentrated light into the follicles of
hair. This light is then absorbed by the pigments in the follicles and destroys the hair. This
procedure became commercial in the mid 1990 s and before this; it had been performed
experimentally for about 20 years. In 1998 the Massachusetts General Hospital published the first
article describing laser hair removal. Now a day the usefulness of laser hair treatment is accepted
generally in the community of dermatology and is practiced widely in clinics. People even use this
method in homes with the help of devices priced and designed for self treatment. The equipment
used for laser is first adjusted according to the thickness, color and location of that particular body
part.
Laser hair removal is mostly used for removing hair from the underarms, legs, face, bikini line and
other areas.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:
The benefits of laser hair removal are:
1) It removes hair only from the selected area without damaging the surrounding areas.
2) It can remove the coarse hair that are generally difficult to remove and painful as well.
3) The speed of removing hair from this procedure is extremely high than any other hair removal
procedure.

Master Harold And The Boys Character Analysis
In Master Harold and the Boys, Hally s crippled father never appears on stage, instead, the closest
thing to him talking is through the telephone conversations. However, Hally s father still has a huge
impact on the play as his roles in the play include creating tension through the phone conversations
and his relationship with his son also brings about the bond between Hally and the servants. In
addition, he symbolizes the conflict of apartheid in South Africa back then.
One of Hally s father s role in the play is acting as a dramatic device. His telephone conversations
with Hally alters the mood and creates tension in the play. Before the telephone conversation
regarding his dad, the mood of nostalgia was in the air as Hally and Sam recalled the kite flying

immediately changes with Hally saying, (seething with irritation and frustration) Tell me
something I don t know, Sam. What the hell do you think I was saying to my Mom? (P.34) This

Functional Training Vs Physical Therapy
Functional Training
People who practice functional training or physical therapy use similar techniques to help their
clients improve their mobility and physical quality of life. Physical and occupational therapists,
chiropractors, athletic trainers, and coaches use functional training exercises that mimic everyday
functional movements like pushing, pulling, squatting, walking, and running to improve a person s
strength, mobility, stability, and flexibility. These exercises help patients and athletes to reach their
goals safely and without causing further harm to an injury.
The Purpose of Functional Training
Functional training involves bodyweight resistance exercises, free and machine weights, medicine
balls, kettlebells, and various other equipment. Exercises are used to mimic the way the body
naturally moves thus limiting the potential for injury. Building muscles like the biceps or
quadriceps in isolation are not the purpose of functional training. Instead, the purpose is to

Wycliffe s family was long settled in Yorkshire and covered a considerable amount of territory.
John Wycliffe was born in a small village in Hipswel which was located in North Riding of

John F. Kennedy? Assassination
When John F. Kennedy was shot while parading in Dallas, the news media were recording. After
he was dead, they replayed the scene countless times for viewers in their homes. Then as that came
to a close, they began to see Ruby murder Oswald, the state funeral, a tiny boy solemnly salute his
father?s casket as it passed, and then finally the family light the Eternal Flame in Arlington National

Kennedy?s death transformed him, in the eyes of many, into a hero.
Presidential Campaigns
The surfacing of television media into presidential campaigns set unique guidelines for presidential
candidates. In some cases, performing well in front of a camera is the leading factor for candidates

The mass media provides information about the qualification of candidates, and issues that will

The Catastrophe Model
The third instrument measuring anxiety is the Catastrophe model. The purpose of this model is to
find the correlation between physiological arousal and cognitive anxiety and the relationship it has

Essay about Gulf Oil case study
The Standard Oil Company of California(Socal) is trying to determine how much to bid on the
Gulf Oil Corporation. George Keller, the CEO of Socal, would need to borrow 14 billion dollars
in order to make a substantial bid. While banks are willing to lend the money because of Socal s
low to debt ratio, the loan would put the company in a highly leveraged position. In order to
alleviate that debt, some of Gulf s assets could be sold. Keller has to consider the value of Gulf s
exploration and development program when calculating future returns. Two billion dollars were
being spent on the exploration and development program. This money could instead be used to
reduce the debt if Socal acquired the company. However, the exploration program... Show more

Mesa would need a majority hold of Gulf in order to elect alternative directors of the firm. The
purpose of electing new directors would be to turn the Gulf corporation into a royalty trust. If
Mesa were to put up more money for the company, it would only do so for the purpose of gaining a
majority hold. Because this was not an attainable goal, Mesa sought the 21% ownership because it
was enough attract the further banking needed.
Advised Decision A prospective buyer has to consider the motives and financial positions of
other bidders. Kohlberg wants to buyout the company in order to turn it into a private firm.
ARCO has a pretty strict limit in what it can offer because of its highly leveraged position. Even
if a company has the ability to take out a larger loan to make a greater offer, it has to consider the
consequences of doing so. While a company like Socal has unrestricted credit, its decisions as to
how to operate the company after the buyout are very limited. Creating a lot of debt in order to
finance the purchase is a large risk. If the company does not perform well in the future it could
face tremendous loss. In this case, a bid of $80 per share would be appropriate for an un
leveraged company like Socal. This would be enough to win Gulf while still leaving breathing
room for shareholders. Taxes do not need to be considered, because the benefits cancel out the

Project Management Training Program Project
Project Management Training Project management has been defined as the process that
involves the application of different processes, methods, knowledge, experience and skills for
purposes of achieving the objectives of the project. On the other hand, a project is always
defined as a unique and a transient endeavor that is undertaken to achieve an organization s
planned goals that could be defined on the basis of outputs and benefits. The process of
managing a project entails the development of an effective project plan, a process that entails the
definition as well as the confirmation of the project goals and objectives. The plan also gives a
clear outline of how the project objectives will be achieved, identification of the tasks as well as
the quantification of all the needed resources. The plan also plays an important role in developing
an appropriate budget for the project as well as the most appropriate timeline that will be taken to
complete the project being carried out. The process of project managementalso includes a statement
of the most effective ways of implementing the project plan along with the best controls that will
ensure that the objectives of the organization are met effectively and efficiently. It is thus important
for organizations to have effective project managementplans so that their operations are flawless as

North Dakota Access Pipeline ( 2016 ) And The Als Ice...
In the past few years, the United States has experienced many social movements. For example,
there have been movements such as Black Lives Matter (2012), North Dakota Access Pipeline
(2016) and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (2014). These movements have been lead by students,
unions, and concerned citizens of the United States who want to see a change in social or political
issues. These movements can be seen across the United States and even across the world. But how
are these movements funded and what are the issues that go along with funding them? To
understand how social movements are funded, first you need to understand what a social movement
is. Social movements have many different definitions. In his paper, Social Movements, James
Jasper defines them as sustained and intentional efforts to foster or retard social changes, primarily
outside the normal institutional channels encouraged by authorities . (CITE) In simpler terms, a
social movement is a movement created by people who want a social or political change. A big
part of social movements is resource mobilizationtheory. Resource mobilization theory states that
social movements succeed through the effective mobilization of resources and the development of
political opportunities for members (CITE). This means that if a social movement wants to be
successful, they need to organize themselves so they can do things such as collect funds from
constituents and elites, receive volunteers and members, and get their

Dangers of High School Football
I never really thought going back would cost me in the long run, Monti says (Tyler). In today s
society, young men participating in football are raised to be tough and take a hit . What they do
not consider are the dangers of going back too soon. Many athletes will be experiencing symptoms
of concussions, like dizziness and vision issues, but they continue to play (Meadows). American
football is one of the most popular and loved sports in the nation. From nearly birth to adulthood, a
majority of boys will participate in football. Football brings entertainment to millions of viewers,

of China s economy has been brought into focus; China s neighboring countries have begun to

economy, although the economy of China grew moderately, China s financial system is very
fragile, the financial laws and regulations are deficient, the structure of foreign change reserve is
very risky, because China has huge foreign exchange reserve of US dollar, which makes China also
suffer from the financial crisis. Financial crisis is caused by the American subprime mortgage, to
combat the financial crisis, the United States issued a substantial amount of U.S. dollars, which
makes the U.S. dollar depreciate continuously, and this action makes many countries that have great
amount of foreign exchange reserves in U.S. dollars suffer huge losses. China has the largest
foreign exchange reserves in the world, in 2008, China s foreign exchange reserves had reached $ 2

powerful suppliers. Consequently, due to this downturn, the weaker manufacturers exit the industry

An option to turn these threats into opportunities could be to manage to set up agreements with
smaller shoe manufacturers. The manufacturers activity would be sustain by producing some on

Essay about Pornography s Effects on Relationships
Pornography s Effects on Relationships
When it comes to relationships there are many things that need to be present in order for it to
work out. You must have support from both sides and honesty is also a big factor. When
pornography enters a relationship it can be destroyed and could possible ruin that relationship
forever. This essay will be able to inform you of all the ways that pornography can and does ruin
relationships. Support for this argument will be drawn from the following sources: Journal of Sex
and Marital Therapy, Love, Sex, and Health, and The Question of Pornography.

When women find out that men went behind their backs and even lied to them this is when the
relationship takes a turn for the worse. Women take lying very seriously and when they find out
they have been lied to, it causes a lot of disappointment. Most relationships end at this point because
honesty is no longer present in their relationship.
Pornography can take a toll on women s emotions as well as their self esteem. When women first
find out that their husbands have been using pornography they begin to feel that is their fault. They
start to put themselves down and think that they are sexually undesirable, worthless, weak, and
stupid (Bergner 194). For many women this could mean a big time emotional break down. Women
begin to think that their husbands are using pornography because they cannot satisfy them and
make them happier than the other women that they are looking at. Bergner points out that men don
t understand what they cause their partners to feel once they have found out about their second life.
Women feel that they are constantly being compared to porn stars and not looked at for whom they
really are. This makes them think that whenever they do engage in sexual activities that their
husbands are not thinking about them, they are thinking about the women that they have been
looking at. Bergner explains that most relationships are ended at this point because these women
will never fell the same

  • 3. Barabas And Hamlet Research Paper Christopher Marlowe is well known for his tragic Marlovian character, the morally ambiguous hero. Barabas of The Jew of Malta is a prime example. His character is greedy, ruthless, and the murderer of the citizens of Malta. Yet the audience still roots for this character as he commits sin after sin in the name of justice. He is ambitious and charismatic, and unjust circumstances earn him sympathy. Shakespeare, inspired by the idea of a villainous hero, creates a marlovian character with a twist. The character of Hamletexhibits the same qualities of the Marlovian character, but lacks to drive to execute his revenge, as he deliberates on his own morality. Hamlet is highly aware of the severity of the crime he is planning to commit and bides his time in taking any formal action. His hesitation comes from his awareness of his own moral ambiguity. Hamlet expresses contempt for his cowardliness but admits hesitation as the ghost, may be the devil...perhaps out of my weakness and my melancholy, as he is very potent with such spirits, abuses me to damn me (Shakespeare 2.2.628 632). With this he acknowledges the possible consequence on his soul for his crime. Once Hamlet gains the proof he hunted for of Claudius guilt, he continues with his excuses. Hamlet believes if Claudius is killed while he is praying his soul will be forgiven and go straight to heaven. The Danish prince claims this is hire and salary, not revenge (Shakespeare 3.3.84), therefore losing an uncomplicated opportunity to kill Claudius. Due to his hesitation throughout the play, enough time passes for a murder plot to be conspired against him. This leads to his ultimate downfall but also springs him into action. In the final scene, Hamlet has only moments to live and morality is no longer of value. Here he is at his most Marlovian, as he vindictively murders ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality and of top notch quality and performance. Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the prestige of brands with years of history. Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve economies of scale. The capital requirements are one of the main reasons why new luxury brands have been produced by companies which were already present in the market as large car manufacturers (Toyota s Lexus and Nissan s Infiniti) and not by new, free standing, ... As a well educated man, he served as a skilled and successful politician, lawyer, and military general, conquering much land for the Roman Empire. This connection with politics and the military gained him support and popularity among the plebeians. The images on television, the political demonstrations, the movements, even the arrival of psychedelic drugs, all escalated the nation in a way that was unprecedented. Coppola brought that heightened sense of awareness to the cinematic experience. The film starts with a song The End by the Doors. The lyrics of the song, written by the infamous Jim Morrison, describe a story like Oedipus: I ll never look into your eyes...again , Father, yes son, I want to kill you . However, this would not be the case if she were as invested in the Aztec religion of 1349 CE. During this time period, human sacrifice was a powerful form of religious practice in many Mesoamerican cultures. More often than not, the spiritual performance began with war rather than the modern Christian s custom of attending church. The Aztec nation housed a surplus of young, strong men and as a result, was a powerhouse in battle due to their immense military power. It is one of the most common procedures done for removing hair in the United States. The procedure of hair removal is done by beaming highly concentrated light into the follicles of hair. This light is then absorbed by the pigments in the follicles and destroys the hair. This procedure became commercial in the mid 1990 s and before this; it had been performed experimentally for about 20 years. In 1998 the Massachusetts General Hospital published the first article describing laser hair removal. Now a day the usefulness of laser hair treatment is accepted generally in the community of dermatology and is practiced widely in clinics. (pr qn r) r!(n r)! While in the Barron s guide it is: This equation is given to us on the AP formula sheet, so since Barons actually teaches you how to use this specific formula it makes it much easier to understand and was very helpful on the AP Exam. Another topic the Brase text did not cover very thoroughly was the Least Squares Line. Brase simply defines the line as, The least squares line devolved with x as the explanatory variable and y as the response variable can be used only to predict y values from specific x values. Baron s on the other hand goes into detail in explaining how to find the line, its slope, and the standard deviation. It gives the equation Е·=y + b1 (x x). It also goes onto define Гџ as the slope of the true regression line, which can be found using a t score with degrees of freedom n 2. The equation for standard deviation is the sum of the squared residuals divided by the sum of the squared deviations of the mean. Overall, this AP study book was a very helpful tool in preparing for the exam. It explained difficult concepts in a much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
