Dangerous Sugar Hazards Research Paper
Dangerous Sugar Hazards Ahead: Killer Candy
Bombs of sugar are hurled at you, the pins of grenades of artificial preservatives have been pulled,
bugs of all sort have surrounded you, no matter where you look these are all in the health killer called
candy. For instance candy upholds too much sugar; according to my calculations and the nutrition
facts from the Twix official packaging one minis Twix bar is 1.79 ounces yet about 10% (or 5 grams)
of the bar is pure sugar aside from the artificial ingredients in the rest of the bar. For some people
eating all that sugar from the chocolate, caramel, and cookie just overloads their mouth. In spite of
eating sugar, once you eat at least six Twix bars the sugar adds up to drinking a pop of soda.

The Birth Of A Child Is A Miracle
People say that the birth of a child is a miracle. When parents find out they are expecting a child it is
arguably one of the most exciting events in a person s life. Parents spend the pregnancy deciding on
names, decorating the room, and all of the other things that involve preparing to bring a child into the
world. Most parents wish that their baby is born happy and healthy. What happens when the doctor
informs you that your precious child has a disability? Having a child with a disability completely
changes the dynamics of the family and the way in which they raise their child along with any other
children they may have. Parents, siblings, and the child with the disability must all learn how to cope
and adapt with the challenges and rewards that come with having a disability. While their child may
not have been born perfectly healthy, there are ways in which the family can raise a child and live a
happy, fulfilling life.
There are many different childhood disabilities that range from physical disabilities to mental health
disabilities. The most common disabilities recognized in childhood are autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy,
down syndrome, epilepsy, spina bifida, dyslexia, and depression (Scribner, 2014). Most of these
disabilities recognized in childhood are lifelong disabilities that have a huge impact on the child s
learning and development. Between 2001 and 2011, the prevalence of childhood disability increased
by 15.6%. While the percentage of physical disables

There are many impacts that the constraints will have on the progress of the project. For scope, there
may be a requirement to hire a programmer that has experience in the database systems that Cyber
Solutions currently has. The budget for this project may increase due to a possibility of staff needing
to be paid overtime, deadlines extended, or the possibility that software and equipment will need to be
purchases to complete the project. [pic] PROJECT OVERVIEW Our company chose to bid on this
project for many reasons. The first reason is that over the last year we have opened five new satellite
locations that have taken off faster than previous openings, which has given our company momentum
to take on new larger tasks that are within our field of operation. The second reason is that we have
enough resources to be able to provide future maintenance of the site and its functions. Third, the
purpose of this project also will determine if we increase the team size of our development teams to
allow for multiple large tasks. If in fact management finds that this project was completed with
exceptional quality within reasonable time and budget limitations, then the stock share percentage will
increase and a bonus will be given. Taking on difficult tasks challenge us individually to show our true
strengths and grow with experience. Knowing our limitations will also determine what resources need

Classification of Restaurant Customers Essay
Restaurant Customers At some point in your life you will earn the responsibilities of server. A majority
of you will spend your time serving customers in a restaurant setting, where you may be more
commonly known as a waiter or waitress. Your customers belong to a special group of customers that
can be broken down into five different types. These different types of customers each require an
appropriate kind of service. The better you are at delivering the appropriate services the better server
you will become and the more job satisfaction and tips you will receive. This is why it is important for
you to know how to recognize what type of customer you are serving. The first type of restaurant
customers you should get to know is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will tell you the food is cold or it doesn t taste right, the table is too big or too small, the
silverware is dirty and maybe it s just a water spot, or the air conditioner is set too low, and any other
complaint that they think is relevant. They are usually rude and cannot be pleased. You may notice
that these persnickety customers tend to be older women. It is nearly impossible to please these people
so don t take it personally. And even though you re praying that they leave soon, try just to smile,
promptly get what they ask for and remember to always be polite. A further type of restaurant
customers is the celebrators. These customers will usually be dining out for a special occasion. It
could be a birthday, an anniversary, a victory or anything else they want to celebrate. These people are
always in a great mood and especially easy to please. You should quickly find out what they are
celebrating and act accordingly. Typically, restaurants will give a dessert for birthdays and
anniversaries. At some restaurants, waiters and waitresses sing to the person with a birthday. This is a
great way to increase your tip for this table. Be sure to make these customers feel special in whatever
way you can. They will surely appreciate it and reward you appropriately. The final type of restaurant
customer is the typical family. This is a group of usually two to six people, including both adults and
children. Try to compliment the

How in the world did this film cost 20 million dollars to make? Johnny Knoxville has largely earned
his fame by doing bodily harm to himself that no reasonable person would even consider. Well, he s
back with another excuse to hurt himself on camera. Normally if a teenage is cutting themselves, you
try to sit down have a talk with them, maybe even seek professional help. Knoxville who is about
three steps away from 50 years old just can t seem to let the past go and at his age, it s starting to get
pretty sad. What many people won t know going into this movie is that Action Point is loosely based
on the real life story of a renegade theme park called Action Park from the 1970s. Knoxville plays

When Was Toilet Paper Invented
Toilet paper; we use it every day. Most people don t think about who or how toilet paper was invented.
We get distracted by the soft feeling of the tissue wiping our waste. One of these people who used the
invention is possibly James Buchanan, the 15th president of the United States. But thanks to the man
who gave us a smile on our faces, Joseph Gayetty. Although he did not invent toilet paper for wastes,
he did have a role in making it into what it is today. Now, because of him and companies like Charmin

hemorrhoids, warm waste sticking your butt together, and stress. Without toilet paper, humans would

Also, there would be no satisfaction without it, which would make us miss out in all it had to offer. To
begin with my first reason, we can use these to prevent hemorrhoids. We use this invention to absorb
blood from our butts. This idea was made by the creator of toilet paper, Joseph Gayetty. We always put
a lot of pressure to get all the waste out; but when putting too much pressure can harm your body and
get blood stains on your pants. Absorbing the blood with toilet paper can prevent blood stains on rears,
but it s very painful and disgusting. Moving around can feel very uncomfortable, but at least it s good
that everyone s eyes will not be locked on your blood

TDN 2002 RESEARCH ESSAY
Critically compare and contrast two to three examples of design or advertising using the apparatuses
of semiotic analysis.
Zhaoqing Wan

Semiotic is a linguistic, it is a sign that can be applied to everything, which signs are the interpretation
of the proper social situation and general human beings. As Berger mentioned in his article, Saussure
suggested, semiotic can be interpreted as signifier and signified, signifier is the objet itself and
signified is the concept, which codes is to help audience to understand. (Berger, 1994) Signs in

For designers, study of signs is very important, Bauhaus and Ulm both believed that understand
semiotics is the basic step before making a design, (Berger, 1994) (Markgraf, 2012) advertisements
ask audiences to understand the message but for design, is opposite, designer has to understand what
costumers need and also, what message they want to added in.
In the advertisements, Aynsley has mentioned that it turns costumers to consumers, the magic
language used in the advertisement which is the signifier that hided under the signified has create a
utopia for people, the code used in advertisement is always forcing costumers to buy under
commercial purpose and the message used in it is always considering to be understand by a wide
range of people instead of create a sign for certain cultural contents. (Aynsley, 1987)

Theme Of Comradery In All Quiet On The Western Front
The psychologist Sigmund Freud once said, Because every man has a right over his own life and war
destroys lives that were full of promise; it forces the individual into situations that shame his
manhood, obliging him to murder fellow men, against his will. He initially stated this when he was
corresponding with Albert Einstein via letter. This quote is also a great explanation of the events that
take place during war that people chose to not recognise. War is terrible, and no matter how hard we
try, nothing will change that. Erich Maria Remarque shows us that soldiers have endured dreadfully
throughout World War I in his book All Quiet on the Western Front . The character in the book, Paul
Baumer, endures through the tragedies of war with some of his old schoolmates as well as new
comrades that he meets along the way. They survive through all of the tragedies together, but in the
end, the war made them lose their friendships as well as their lives. The reality is that war comes with
consequences while it destroys people, and there is nothing that will ever be able to change that. The
book All Quiet on the Western Front shows how war comes destroys people s lives with its
consequences through three of its themes: the importance of comradery, the loss of innocence, and the
horrors and brutality of war.
Comradery proved to be a great importance to all of the soldiers throughout the war. Whenever
somebody would get into a troublesome time, there was always another soldier

Essay On My Responsibility To America
My Responsibility to America What is my responsibility to America? To answer this question I must
first answer two others. What is responsibility? Oxford dictionary defines responsibility as the state of
fact of having a duty to deal with something or having control over someone. This definition is exactly
what I am trying to portray when explaining my responsibility to America. Our educators, soldiers,
politicians, innovators, farmers, and businessmen have all had a duty since the birth of this nation.
Second, what does America mean to me? When I think of this country the first thing that comes to
mind is the first three words in the constitution, written by Thomas Jefferson over two hundred years
ago, Life, liberty, and the pursuit of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We all have basic responsibilities, like obtaining a high school diploma, voting, serving on a jury, and
paying taxes. While these are important this topic is so much more than that. We, as the younger
generation, have responsibilities to America that are not only important, but are crucial to the future of
our nation. The rights we hold are not given without obligations. Rights go hand in hand with
responsibilities; if rights are abused they are taken away or cease to exist all together. Think about a
basic right; freedom of speech for example. If we were to never exercise this right, never spoke out
when something needed to be said, the right would easily be taken away. This is just one of the many
examples. The only way to preserve a right is to use it, and use it well. It is our responsibility to
exercise our rights. This responsibility brings the obligation to not harm anyone in my progress to
pursue these rights. I believe it is my responsibility to contribute and be an active member in today s
society by taking the opportunities I am presented, and making new opportunities for future
generations. It is my responsibility to pave the way for future generations, for they will follow in my
footsteps, just like I have followed in the footsteps of past great

Mexico’s War on Drugs Essay
Every day the U.S. border patrol has to constantly keep an eye out for the smuggling of drugs by
Mexican Cartels. There has been much violence due to this drug problem that has left many people
near the border killed and is allowing more criminals to obtain these weapons. A lot of this attention
goes to the U.S. because many of the weapons utilized in the drug war are U.S. made and is interfering
with trading relations amongst both the U.S. and Mexico. With this current violent situation in Mexico
this has transformed the flow of weapons to an even larger scale.

markets. Before drugs would be smuggled on a major scale, Mexico would supply alcohol to the U.S.
when alcohol was prohibited. It was not until the early 1970 s when drug smugglers began to
distribute drugs on a larger scope.
During the early 1990 s Colombia being one of the biggest exporters of narcotics in history, led by
Pablo Escobar, who had a wide range of organized crime affiliations throughout Latin America. Pablo
Escobar was a Colombian drug lord and he smuggled narcotics all the way to South Florida as when
authorities tried to capture him. One of Pablo Escobar s most important alliances was that of the
Mexican based traffickers. Escobar knew that this was an important trade route because of its
geography and how it would be easier to smuggle the narcotics into the United States. This allowed a
smuggling partnership between both countries and Mexico was to eventually lead their own drug
based trafficking system with the help of Pablo Escobar. From the distributed drugs, cartels would
take a certain amount of profit, and would use that money to bribe Mexican officials. By bribing
Mexican officials it was insured that if smugglers were to be arrested they would either be let go, the
case would be dropped or taking action against a rival smuggling group by giving away information

Blood Wedding By Federico Garcia Lorca
In 1930s Spain, the ritual of marriage became highly controversial as the 1931 Constitution allowed
for divorce to be legal. This caused debate between older and younger generations. The elders of
society still had their beliefs deeply rooted in the views of the Catholic Church , which did not allow
for divorce. Nonetheless, the younger generation was more prone to giving into desire and therefore
was more open to the idea. The play Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca insinuates the strong
importance of ritual in the 1930s. Due to this, in the play, ritual is revered and ironclad while desire is
shunned. When Leonardo comes to the wedding of Bride the clash between desire and ritual is made
evident. Nonetheless, ritual is made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when Leonardo whisks Bride away, ritual is threatened. Lorca also shows how desire should
be kept hidden away in society by the running away of Bride and Leonardo being made off stage. He
shows that people would rather pretend that desire does not even exist making their running away
hidden signifying that. Additionally, the setting of Act 3 adds to the feeling of desire. Forests have
been known in plays to be a place of surrealism. Leonardo and Bride get married in the forest as their
ability to be together is like a dream come true for them and it would not be possible anywhere else. In
any other place, ritual would have had more precedence and strength because society endorses it due
to the beliefs of the Catholic Church. All in all, desire is not imperative to society in the play and in
that time period.
Blood Wedding portrays ritual excessively; even the title Wedding is a religious sacrament. Thus, it
should come as no surprise that Lorca encompasses ritual into the hunting down of Leonardo and
Bride. As soon as everyone learns that the two are gone, Mother dispatches people to go look for them
and says, It s come again: the hour of blood (p. 44). From this phrase, one can see that the hour of
blood has come before. It is an accepted ritual to hunt down and kill a runaway bride or anyone who
challenges ritual. No one is disturbed by the impending murder because it is a tradition a way of
living. Desire has

Outside Stressors In Schools Case Study
These findings supported my hypothesis. In the case of the first hypothesis of where the more time a
person spent towards their outside stressors, the greater impact it would have on school work. The
results showed that participants, who contributed more time to outside responsibilities, were more
likely to feel as if they were being negatively impacted by it. There is one outlier to this in the case of
the one student, mother who works 40 hours. This woman was the eldest participant, which may lead
to the assumption that with age came more experience at balancing out the extra responsibilities. In
the case of my second hypothesis, which was an extension of my 1st, when participants had multiple
extra responsibilities, they were more inclined to feel they were being negatively affected. Overall
across all the data, when participants had to balance out two or more outside stressors, they felt their
schoolwork was being negatively impacted. In conclusion, the results were in line with the hypothesis.
Whether the stressor was work, childcare or sports each had some sort of an impact on schoolwork
performance. The best way for this hypothesis to be fully analyzed would be by comparing this to a
controlled group, which did not fall into any of these categories. ... Show more content on

One category in particular was difficult to obtain. As society changes less and less people are having
children at young ages. This contributed to the lack of participants who had children to be included in
the survey. Another limitation may have been the sample type. While undergraduate students face their
own stressors, the demands of graduate or even medical school may be far greater for some. Had this
sample been given to a sample of those seeking higher education more participants would have had
negative impacts. Another key contributor received from an older sample would be the increase in the

The Beginning And End Of Rape By Louise Erdrich
Minority groups have always been marginalized and bellowed by our current justice system in society
within these groups are women, this leads to questioning the role of the justice system in perpetuating
violence in for example Native American groups. In the U.S. the justice system has failed to protect
these women specifically Native American women from sexual violence, and what worsens the case is
that more often than not their attackers are let off easy or escape punishment altogether because of
federal, state and tribal jurisdictions. In the Round House by Louise Erdrich which is set in 1988 and

Summary Of The Poem The Hawk
In The Hawk a king is represented by a magnificent creature, a creature that carries its pride on its
wings. A king is represented by a hawk. Furthermore, literary techniques and elements are used to
enhance The Hawk. Also, the author uses descriptive language relay a message. Additionally, The
Hawk is interpreted by the reader s comprehension. The Hawk is a complex poem that revolves
around the use of literary devices to convey a message of deeper meaning. Literary elements and
techniques are used to add a deeper meaning to The Hawk. Personification and repetition emphases
the importance of the words. An example being, the personification and capitalization of death gives
the word the power to destroy. The repetition and capitalization of the word you implies the word is
important and has a deeper meaning. Metaphors and symbols convey hidden messages that have to be
deciphered. The metaphor To some you are Death (line 10) leaves the reader to believe whomever the
speaker is talking to is powerful enough to destroy. Furthermore, the hawk in the poem symbolizes
power and authority. Similes and alliteration are used to create images. The simile Branched grasped
like a scepter passed down (line 8) leaves the reader to envision the talons of the hawk gripping a
branch the way a king would grasp a scepter. Also, alliteration stresses the words royal robe (line 7) to
paint the image of a beautiful velvety robe only to be worn by royalty. In conclusion, literary

Short Story Of Our Secret By Susan Griffin
What we see on the outside is not always what is felt or endured on the inside. The real truth about a
person can be hidden, manipulated, sometimes even forgotten in the back of the person s very own
mind. This truth is masked, and it is not always easy to be unearthed. But this is ordinary. There is not
one person on this planet that does not have a sort of mask, some sort of truth or secret that is
unknown to the people around them. People living before our generation, like the Himmlers, had
secrets. People living now have secrets. I have secrets. It is natural for people to want to know
everything about everything, but it s just not humanly possible. Griffin herself tried to discover some
of the secrets of those who lived before her. She wanted to know what caused people to be who they
turned out to be. Although she was able to find possible causes as to why someone did what they did,
or said what they said, there was not much solid evidence to go off of. She may have been right, but
we will most likely never know, because the truth tends to die with its bearer. But, through exploring
people s pasts and analyzing the information she gathered, Griffin unmasks the nature of more than
just a few humans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

because secrets and memories can either hold us back, or push us forward, maybe even both. These
secrets and memories can serve to be a source for what we see and hear almost each and every day in
the news, and sometimes experience in person:

Hobsbawm s The Golden Age Of Capitalism
The Golden Years were perhaps best characterized by the overwhelming economic dominance of the
USA and of the dollar, which had become dominant when the value of the British pound sterling
deteriorated as a result of the second World War. The US dollar was still linked to a specific quantity
of gold at the time. A return to laissez faire policies and the unconstructed free market was simply out
of the question. Specific political objectives had attained absolute priority, including full employment,
absolute containment of communism and modernization or revitalization of any and all economies that
were lagging behind. In practice, the Golden Age was an era of free trade, free capitalist movements
and stable currencies that had been orchestrated by astute wartime planners. The global economy was
becoming increasingly international, but it would not become transnational until later in the 1990s,

level of economic performance, including output, performance and growth) was investment demand.

This unit existed until May 2003 when the anti corruption and economic crimes Act (ACECA),
established the Kenya Anti corruption commission (KACC). The ACECA replaced the prevention of
corruption Act, 1956. ACECA is the key statute in the fight against corruption and is complimented by
the public office ethics Act. Past reforms on public expenditure management have not worked well as
the executive arm of the government has consistently failed to act on various recommendations of the
watchdog institutions on the mismanagement of public funds. Similarly, the stated war against
corruption, which is rampant in the public expenditure management, is yet to be won mainly due to
legal technicalities encountered in trying to establish an effective and independent anti corruption
authority. There is therefore need for a thorough examination of the fiscal systems with a view to
formulating pragmatic remedial measures (Baumol, 2003). Research Problem Statement The problem
of this study is to explore the effects of corruption on the economic growth in Kenya. Corruption cases
reported to KACC increased by 16 % from 3637 in 2,008 to 4473 in 2009 (economic survey 2010).
Corruption affects both the nation and the individual. At the national level, corruption has led to poor
economic performance. This has resulted in: increased taxation burdens on Kenyans; unplanned,
misdirected expenditure on projects

Descartes Discourse on Method
Understanding Descartes Method of Doubt
Clear your mind, if you will, of everything you have ever seen or known to be true. To begin
understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments
and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all
thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was
embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute

He basically states in his meditations that if there is a God, and he is perceived as good, why would he
deceive our thoughts? This brings up the evil deceiver argument. If we can only know that our
existence is real, who is to say that there is not an outside force that makes of the rest of our reality
that we supposedly live? If our dreams are just distorted pieces of our reality and our reality is merely
a show put on by the evil deceiver, we know for certain we cannot base our beliefs on what we see and
the tools unto which we use to perceive it; i.e. extension, hands, and eyes.
Conclusion
Descartes makes it clear that we cannot be certain of anything. The method of doubt brings us to
understand this better by giving a set of guidelines to follow to systematically understand and get
closer to some kind of truth. By trying to find some truth to base all thoughts on, Descartes tried to
find an absolute truth by coming to the realization that nothing he believed was of any truth. Although
not finding much truth in his journeys, he found a systematic way to come closer to finding truth.
Descartes was presented with a problem of not knowing anything, and by creating the method of
doubt he came closer to finding the truth.

Resident Evil Vs Biohazard
Players who follow Resident Evil closely know that the game made its mark with heavyweight horror
turns and battles. Which is why Resident Evil 7 is said to be more than that. Resident Evil 7:
Biohazard is going to be different. It is described to be a major course correction from Resident Evil 4.
It opens up in a scary house in the teaser demo released. The demo, titled Beginning Hour, looks
nothing like its predecessors. The series seems to be distant in feature, for RE 7. Comparing RE 4 and
Biohazard, The Verge has it that the only thing these games have in common are both games can t be
played today. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard brings back the horror. The demo features the Kitchen. In the
Virtual Reality demo, the vibe is similar to the Saw. You start with a chair, and your hands are tied.
But that VR demo makes it quite immersive for players. If the character gets stabbed in the leg, it s as
almost if the leg physically twitches in nervous response. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So this is a plus since it s playable with PlayStation VR. Beginning Hour is set in the same house as

won t be a Virtual Reality experience for these platforms. Mike McWhertor explains that controlling
the camera through head tracking and the right analog stick wound up being disorienting. Would

Nuclear Explosion During The Cold War
The occurrence of the explosion was a direct effect of Cold War isolation and the subsequent lack of
safety regulations. From its beginning the Soviet nuclear effort, primarily focused on making an
atomic bomb, was done with complete disregard for human life. Run by skilled, determined and
callous managers, the nuclear industry did not take human life into account if such concerns did not
serve the task at hand. And, like many of the Soviet s projects, the emerging nuclear industry was
covered in secrecy, with little to no information of what was going on made public. This was mainly
due to the fact they wanted to conceal any plans from their enemies, such as the United States. The
Soviet government also wanted to control the scientists and

Persuasive Essay On Drunk Driving
Drunk driving. Everyone knows how dangerous it can be. The message, Do not drink and drive, is
everywhere. People have finally started to realize how incredibly perilous driving while drunk can be,
and the number of alcohol related accidents is starting to plummet. *** Do not celebrate yet, however.
Another dangerous pastime is beginning to influence people behind the wheel. Texting. In fact, people
are beginning to believe that texting while driving is even more precarious than driving while
intoxicated. ** Really? Texting? Unfortunately, yes. Statistics on accidents and studies on the slowed
reaction times of behind the wheel texters seem quite conclusive. In addition, people just do not take
this issue seriously enough, which has a great effect on the occurrence of texting. In 2002, there were
12,405 deaths caused by driving while intoxicated. Nine years later, there were 9,296, a full 25% less.
Accidents caused by driving while distracted, however, has risen over 22%, going from 2,600
fatalities in 2002 to 3,331 in 2011. ...the NHTSA reports that texting while driving is currently
responsible for approximately 1.6 million accidents every year about 25% of all driving accidents.

The Car and Driver Magazine conducted an experiment to discover just how hazardous drunk driving
was compared to distracted driving. The results were shocking. The cars used in the test were rigged
with a red light to tell the drivers to hit the brake, and the reaction times were recorded. Sober drivers
took an average of 0.54 seconds to brake. Drivers with a blood alcohol content of 0.8, the legal limit,
required an extra four feet to brake. For those sending a text, 70 extra feet were required. Another test
taken in London showed that those that texted while behind the wheel had reaction times that were
35% worse than drivers with no

What Makes a Just Society Essay
What Makes A Just Society?
Throughout history, people have been trying to create an improved, fair, and equal system of justice,
not only to better society in which one lives, but to also find a sense of meaning in what
responsibilities people should hold within their civilizations in order to create this just way of living.
As early as the Old Testament within the Bible, we see examples of how the Hebrews formed their
own justice. This can be seen in the in text of the Ten Commandments which were written in a form of
law. Laws were significant even in this basic form of context, such as the Ten Commandments, which
offered the ideas of right and wrongdoings and the sin for violating others for one s own benefit. This

The idea then of a just society I contend, comes down to people living under a fair and common law,
order, political system, social organization, as well as everyone having personal and political freedom.
Many people, besides myself, have also contemplated this question, whether a utopian society could
exist, and have put forth their own theories. Karl Marx and John Rawls are two thinkers that
questioned what the theory of justice. Marx believed that history was always moving forward towards
a utopian ending. Marx disliked injustice and declared this in his Communist Manifesto in 1846. His
theory is centered on the idea that forms of society rise and fall as they develop and then became an
obstacle for the development of human productive power and reality is governed by economic needs.
This belief means that the present organization of society must be destroyed. To establish this new
society, people must be organized and take up the struggle against the capitalists who take advantage
of them. This struggle, according to Marx, will end in victory for the workers. However, Marx was
unable to discover what laws and principles that would produce the just society in which he strived
for. John Rawls was the second most important political thinker of his time. His main contribution to
the idea of a civil society is his theory of justice. Rawls believed in social primary goods which
included rights,

The Compound Effect By Darren Hardy

Dr. Carl Wysocki
Book Summary
June 11, 2017
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy This was a very good and intriguing book to read throughout
the past couple weeks. I thought that Darren Hardy made handling money and life very simple and
easy unlike other books. I Thought for my summary of the book that I would share some of his great
ideas he presented in the book with his wisdom.
Success and failure are the results of the choices that we make everyday. Part of the compound effect
is making the right decision over and over again for a long period of time in order to be consistently
successful. Its all about making the right decision which can be hard at times because sometimes you
don t know what the right decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
every decision, no matter how slight, alters the trajectory of your life (pg.23).
Another great thing I took from this book is to track the habits that you want to change. This is
something that I can apply to my whole life especially the financial part of it. I fid myself spending
my money way to fast and wondering how it disappeared so quickly. In the book it says to make sure
you record everything that you buy so you can make improvements on what you are doing with your
money. Tracking is a simple exercise. It works because it brings moment to moment awareness to the
actions you take in the area of your life you want to improve (pg. 38).
Another great part about this book is when he talks about riding the momentum of success. Its
important that when you find success that you go back to what got you there and work just as hard as
you did before and you will begin to ride this wave or rhythm of success. Achievers People who get
into a successful rhythm continue busting their butts and end up achieving more and more (pg.94). I
think that one of the most important parts of the book is when talks about developing a routine. A
routine is everything, its what you do everyday in order to be successful and find success in life.
Developing a routine develops great habits in every part of

Hayeks Contribution to the Business Cycle Essay
Hayeks Contribution to the Business Cycle
Friedirch August von Hayek was born in Vienna on May 8, 1899 and died on March 23, 1992, in the
city of Freiburg in Breisgan in Germany. Hayek was a central figure in 20th century economics and he
represented the Austrian tradition. After Hayek served military service, he became a student at the
University of Vienna where he got his doctorate in law and political science. In 1923 4, Hayek visited
New York and then returned to Vienna where he continued his work. Hayek became the first director
of the Austrian Institute for Business Cycle Research in 1927. He also gave some lectures in England
at the London School of Economics in 1931. In England, he participated in such debates as monetary,

He showed how sudden injection of credit into economy could cause changes in the relative prices
between goods and lead to overinvestment that cannot be maintained. When money and credit vary, it
sets up a train of events which draws resources into places where they would not normally go. In
particular, an increase in credit stimulates investment (Butler, 8). Thus, Hayek shows that it is a
response to the false signal of new credit being created, and therefore this investment cannot be
maintained.
Hayek concentrates on the initial disturbance that starts a cycle. It is used to create new bank credit in
the shape of unwarranted advances to enterprises. He considers money (credit) as a factor to explain
the cycle theory.
The elasticity of the money supply (MV) is what allows and facilitates the disequilibria of business
cycles. By expanding the currency, malinvestments in capital are generated, which are not productive
enough to be maintained (Haney, 681).
Having said this, Hayek makes two points here. He talks about voluntary saving and enterprisers
anticipation of rising prices. The former is concerned with the changes in capital structure brought
about by changes in the volume of money. It is the difference between voluntary saving and the
creation of new credit currency by banks. In particular, Hayek describes the self reversing real effects
of credit expansion. He states

Safety Of The Hpv Vaccine Essay
Safety of the HPV Vaccine There have been concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccines. In Basu s
(2013) article they reviewed the evidence from the phase III trials and national programs for the HPV
vaccine. After reviewing the data though the article showed that all the randomized control trials
reported both their serious and non serious adverse events that took place during the phase III trials.
There were 20,000 participants in the trial (p.4). Pain at the injection site, headache, and fatigue were
the most frequently reported issues. The serious adverse effects were very rare so the vaccine was
considered safe. When reviewing the safety data from the national programs in Australia there were
millions of doses given out and the most adverse side effects there were anaphylactic and allergic
reactions, and these were not seen as any more dangerous than it is for other vaccines. In the US about
40 million doses were given out and among the reports that were received by the Vaccine Adverse
Event Reporting System which totaled 20,096 only 8% of these reports were actually were considered
serious (p.5). All the reports were reviewed and could not find any adverse events that occurred that
could be ascribed to the vaccine. In the UK they reviewed the vaccine two years after it came out and
concluded it to be safe. Reviewing the data from all three counties in the national programs showed
that none of the deaths that occurred could be linked to the vaccine. So both the

Essay on Astrology and the Zodiac
When I was little, I really didn t know what astrology was or what your zodiac sign was. When I was
growing up, I finally figured out what it all meant and how it worked. From that point on I was
instantly clicked. I loved reading my horoscope and when ever I did read it, nine out of ten times it
would be right, and that s why I loved reading my horoscope. It was just something I did every
morning, and then I would go throughout my day. Then at night when I would be back on the

that type of emotion.

These signs are mostly used as sun signs, which many astrologers use to tell people s horoscope.
People with their sun sign in Aries are said to be active, energetic, and optimistic, but can also get
themselves into bad situations. As the first sign of the Zodiac Arians cannot help putting themselves

Taurus are said to be quiet, patient, and determined, but also antagonizing and stubborn. Taureans are
extremely faithful, with a strong need for security and a settled routine. Although they are very earthy,
they can also be highly romantic and sensitive when it comes to love.
Gemini s are usually characterized as lively, intellectual, and adaptable, but they could be fickle.
Gemini s are widely known for their dual personalities and ability to change mood from moment to

Texas Rangers Research Paper
The Texas Rangers (52 53) will resume their three games series with the Houston Astros (60 47) on
Tuesday evening in Arlington, hoping to build off their win last night . Jeff Banister will turn to
previous staff ace Yovani Gallardo (7 9, 3.39 ERA) and the Houston Astros will counter with 26 year
old Dan Straily (0 0, 5.06 ERA). Fox Sports Southwest will broadcast the game live locally, and
MLB.tv subscribers can watch worldwide on connected devices. Tonight the Rangers will be hoping
for a strong performance from Gallardo and if he can turn one in then the Rangers will have a great
shot at winning the series. Gallardo has struggled lately though, giving up five earned runs in each of
his past three starts. On July 19th, just three short starts ago, Gallardo pitched an uninspiring four
innings of ten hit ball, allowing seven earned runs against this Astros team. The Astros have been
swinging the bats well as of late as the Rangers saw last night and they ll certainly be confident

Contextual Theory Of Interethnic Communication Theory
The distinction of the differences or similarities between the communicator and conversational
partners can influence whether they chose to engage in association or dissociation. These
dissimilarities and resemblances help to shape our perceptions of each other. Through the analysis of
ethnic proximity, ethnic distance, shared goal structure, separate goal structure, and personal network
integration, the situation layer of Kim s Interethnic Theory will be explored.
A Contextual Theory of Interethnic Communication As conceptualized by Young Yun Kim, the
interethnic communication theory describes the multifaceted layers and factors in communication
event. Described as an open system, interethnic communication occurs between communicators and
their interactant(s) who possess characteristic similarities or differences in terms of their ethnic or
identity markers (Kim, 2005). There are four layers to her theory: behavior, communicator, situation,
and environment. All of these layers contribute to how the communicator and their interactant decides
to interact, whether it is associative or dissociative. This paper will focus on the situation layer.
Implanted between the environment and communicator layer, the situation layer represents the
interethnic encounter itself (Kim, 2005, p. 334). Essentially, it is describing the interaction between
the communicator and their conversational partner(s). In this context, the communication can take
form in many ways (e.g., verbal,

Count Orlok Nosferatu Expressionism
Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauen, is a german expressionist horror film that takes its roots from
Bram Stoker s Dracula. While being an adaptation of Stoker s work, the films main anti hero is
seperate ways. Dracula is suave while Count Orlok is depicted as a monster would be imagined. Orlok
is seen as decrepit and much more frightenting. This adds a sense of realism in that he is a monster
and acts as such.
The film is simmilar to The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari. It is simmilar because the are expressionist films,
and not because they are soundless and in greyscale. The transition period after World War I created
Germany s expressionist film industry. The feelings of horror and despair that most of the country felt

Blue symbolized the dark nights, where Count Orlok would spend most of his screen time active. Red

the scenes using low key lighting implied great evil, such as the shadowy figure of the Count in his
castle as it became night. Scenes with high key lighting symbolized good, such as when Ellen is

A reccuring type of camera shot was the low angel shot that Count Orlok framed in. It made his figure
seem much more ominious and dangerous. He seemed much more lanky and when he would stare into
the camera, it would drive a sense of fear into the watcher.
Sound in the film was used to set the mood of scenes quite well. In the more relaxed parts, there would

Local traders from the major of the cities were opposed the entry of retail giant Wal Mart especially in

Literary Devices In Out, Out By Robert Frost
The fun of using a chain saw is something anyone could enjoy. The feeling of power it gives, the mess
it makes, and the speed it has, but also the potential danger. This danger begs the question; should
children be allowed to use one? The poem Out, Out by published, and Pulitzer Prize winning poet
Robert Frost acknowledges a substantial crisis that was occurring at the time it was written. The poem
was published in 1916, and addresses the terrible labor conditions that children of the time were being
subjected to. While doing so he illustrates the idea that children were seen as expendable. The poem

Unfortunately, not much has changed in the hearts of people. The world still contains little empathy, or
sympathy. This does not mean that all people feel this way, but little has changed since 1916. One
positive fact to note is that because of child labor laws the events of this poem can remain only in
poems and stories, and out of the news, at least in the United States and other first world nations.
However, in terms of adults caring for each other little has changed, people still do little to help others.
Not everyone is this way though, and the world would be a better place if others would follow in their
footsteps. For example, rather than shaming the poor people could help them get jobs, or instead of
laughing at people s problems they could help each other get through them. Perhaps after that Frost s
poem could become irrelevant and could instead be used as a reminder of how the world used to be,
and how much better off people are

were residing in King s residence, law enforcement would serve an arrest warrant there against Larkin
and to rescue Peanut from abuse by her caretakers. King walked the officers to Larkin, who willingly

  • 2. Dangerous Sugar Hazards Research Paper Dangerous Sugar Hazards Ahead: Killer Candy Bombs of sugar are hurled at you, the pins of grenades of artificial preservatives have been pulled, bugs of all sort have surrounded you, no matter where you look these are all in the health killer called candy. For instance candy upholds too much sugar; according to my calculations and the nutrition facts from the Twix official packaging one minis Twix bar is 1.79 ounces yet about 10% (or 5 grams) of the bar is pure sugar aside from the artificial ingredients in the rest of the bar. For some people eating all that sugar from the chocolate, caramel, and cookie just overloads their mouth. In spite of eating sugar, once you eat at least six Twix bars the sugar adds up to drinking a pop of soda. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Birth Of A Child Is A Miracle People say that the birth of a child is a miracle. When parents find out they are expecting a child it is arguably one of the most exciting events in a person s life. Parents spend the pregnancy deciding on names, decorating the room, and all of the other things that involve preparing to bring a child into the world. Most parents wish that their baby is born happy and healthy. What happens when the doctor informs you that your precious child has a disability? Having a child with a disability completely changes the dynamics of the family and the way in which they raise their child along with any other children they may have. Parents, siblings, and the child with the disability must all learn how to cope and adapt with the challenges and rewards that come with having a disability. While their child may not have been born perfectly healthy, there are ways in which the family can raise a child and live a happy, fulfilling life. There are many different childhood disabilities that range from physical disabilities to mental health disabilities. The most common disabilities recognized in childhood are autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, epilepsy, spina bifida, dyslexia, and depression (Scribner, 2014). Most of these disabilities recognized in childhood are lifelong disabilities that have a huge impact on the child s learning and development. Between 2001 and 2011, the prevalence of childhood disability increased by 15.6%. While the percentage of physical disables ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For scope, there may be a requirement to hire a programmer that has experience in the database systems that Cyber Solutions currently has. The budget for this project may increase due to a possibility of staff needing to be paid overtime, deadlines extended, or the possibility that software and equipment will need to be purchases to complete the project. [pic] PROJECT OVERVIEW Our company chose to bid on this project for many reasons. The first reason is that over the last year we have opened five new satellite locations that have taken off faster than previous openings, which has given our company momentum to take on new larger tasks that are within our field of operation. The second reason is that we have enough resources to be able to provide future maintenance of the site and its functions. Third, the purpose of this project also will determine if we increase the team size of our development teams to allow for multiple large tasks. If in fact management finds that this project was completed with exceptional quality within reasonable time and budget limitations, then the stock share percentage will increase and a bonus will be given. Taking on difficult tasks challenge us individually to show our true strengths and grow with experience. Knowing our limitations will also determine what resources need to be increased to avoid making the same mistakes in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A majority of you will spend your time serving customers in a restaurant setting, where you may be more commonly known as a waiter or waitress. Your customers belong to a special group of customers that can be broken down into five different types. These different types of customers each require an appropriate kind of service. The better you are at delivering the appropriate services the better server you will become and the more job satisfaction and tips you will receive. This is why it is important for you to know how to recognize what type of customer you are serving. The first type of restaurant customers you should get to know is ... They will tell you the food is cold or it doesn t taste right, the table is too big or too small, the silverware is dirty and maybe it s just a water spot, or the air conditioner is set too low, and any other complaint that they think is relevant. They are usually rude and cannot be pleased. You may notice that these persnickety customers tend to be older women. It is nearly impossible to please these people so don t take it personally. And even though you re praying that they leave soon, try just to smile, promptly get what they ask for and remember to always be polite. A further type of restaurant customers is the celebrators. These customers will usually be dining out for a special occasion. It could be a birthday, an anniversary, a victory or anything else they want to celebrate. These people are always in a great mood and especially easy to please. You should quickly find out what they are celebrating and act accordingly. Typically, restaurants will give a dessert for birthdays and anniversaries. At some restaurants, waiters and waitresses sing to the person with a birthday. This is a great way to increase your tip for this table. Be sure to make these customers feel special in whatever way you can. They will surely appreciate it and reward you appropriately. We get distracted by the soft feeling of the tissue wiping our waste. One of these people who used the invention is possibly James Buchanan, the 15th president of the United States. But thanks to the man who gave us a smile on our faces, Joseph Gayetty. Although he did not invent toilet paper for wastes, he did have a role in making it into what it is today. Now, because of him and companies like Charmin s, toilet papers has the best place to be rolled in, the bathroom. To begin with my first reason, we can use these to prevent hemorrhoids. We use this invention to absorb blood from our butts. This idea was made by the creator of toilet paper, Joseph Gayetty. We always put a lot of pressure to get all the waste out; but when putting too much pressure can harm your body and get blood stains on your pants. For designers, study of signs is very important, Bauhaus and Ulm both believed that understand semiotics is the basic step before making a design, (Berger, 1994) (Markgraf, 2012) advertisements ask audiences to understand the message but for design, is opposite, designer has to understand what costumers need and also, what message they want to added in. In the advertisements, Aynsley has mentioned that it turns costumers to consumers, the magic language used in the advertisement which is the signifier that hided under the signified has create a utopia for people, the code used in advertisement is always forcing costumers to buy under commercial purpose and the message used in it is always considering to be understand by a wide range of people instead of create a sign for certain cultural contents. • 9. Theme Of Comradery In All Quiet On The Western Front The psychologist Sigmund Freud once said, Because every man has a right over his own life and war destroys lives that were full of promise; it forces the individual into situations that shame his manhood, obliging him to murder fellow men, against his will. He initially stated this when he was corresponding with Albert Einstein via letter. This quote is also a great explanation of the events that take place during war that people chose to not recognise. War is terrible, and no matter how hard we try, nothing will change that. Erich Maria Remarque shows us that soldiers have endured dreadfully throughout World War I in his book All Quiet on the Western Front . The character in the book, Paul Baumer, endures through the tragedies of war with some of his old schoolmates as well as new comrades that he meets along the way. They survive through all of the tragedies together, but in the end, the war made them lose their friendships as well as their lives. The reality is that war comes with consequences while it destroys people, and there is nothing that will ever be able to change that. The book All Quiet on the Western Front shows how war comes destroys people s lives with its consequences through three of its themes: the importance of comradery, the loss of innocence, and the horrors and brutality of war. Comradery proved to be a great importance to all of the soldiers throughout the war. Whenever somebody would get into a troublesome time, there was always another soldier ... Oxford dictionary defines responsibility as the state of fact of having a duty to deal with something or having control over someone. This definition is exactly what I am trying to portray when explaining my responsibility to America. Our educators, soldiers, politicians, innovators, farmers, and businessmen have all had a duty since the birth of this nation. Second, what does America mean to me? While these are important this topic is so much more than that. We, as the younger generation, have responsibilities to America that are not only important, but are crucial to the future of our nation. The rights we hold are not given without obligations. Rights go hand in hand with responsibilities; if rights are abused they are taken away or cease to exist all together. Think about a basic right; freedom of speech for example. If we were to never exercise this right, never spoke out when something needed to be said, the right would easily be taken away. This is just one of the many examples. The only way to preserve a right is to use it, and use it well. It is our responsibility to exercise our rights. This responsibility brings the obligation to not harm anyone in my progress to pursue these rights. I believe it is my responsibility to contribute and be an active member in today s society by taking the opportunities I am presented, and making new opportunities for future generations. It is my responsibility to pave the way for future generations, for they will follow in my footsteps, just like I have followed in the footsteps of past great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There has been much violence due to this drug problem that has left many people near the border killed and is allowing more criminals to obtain these weapons. • 14. Blood Wedding By Federico Garcia Lorca In 1930s Spain, the ritual of marriage became highly controversial as the 1931 Constitution allowed for divorce to be legal. This caused debate between older and younger generations. The elders of society still had their beliefs deeply rooted in the views of the Catholic Church , which did not allow for divorce. Nonetheless, the younger generation was more prone to giving into desire and therefore was more open to the idea. The play Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca insinuates the strong importance of ritual in the 1930s. Due to this, in the play, ritual is revered and ironclad while desire is shunned. However, when Leonardo whisks Bride away, ritual is threatened. Lorca also shows how desire should be kept hidden away in society by the running away of Bride and Leonardo being made off stage. He shows that people would rather pretend that desire does not even exist making their running away hidden signifying that. Additionally, the setting of Act 3 adds to the feeling of desire. Forests have been known in plays to be a place of surrealism. Leonardo and Bride get married in the forest as their ability to be together is like a dream come true for them and it would not be possible anywhere else. In any other place, ritual would have had more precedence and strength because society endorses it due to the beliefs of the Catholic Church. All in all, desire is not imperative to society in the play and in that time period. Blood Wedding portrays ritual excessively; even the title Wedding is a religious sacrament. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Lorca encompasses ritual into the hunting down of Leonardo and Bride. As soon as everyone learns that the two are gone, Mother dispatches people to go look for them and says, It s come again: the hour of blood (p. 44). From this phrase, one can see that the hour of blood has come before. It is an accepted ritual to hunt down and kill a runaway bride or anyone who challenges ritual. In the case of the first hypothesis of where the more time a person spent towards their outside stressors, the greater impact it would have on school work. The results showed that participants, who contributed more time to outside responsibilities, were more likely to feel as if they were being negatively impacted by it. There is one outlier to this in the case of the one student, mother who works 40 hours. This woman was the eldest participant, which may lead to the assumption that with age came more experience at balancing out the extra responsibilities. In the case of my second hypothesis, which was an extension of my 1st, when participants had multiple extra responsibilities, they were more inclined to feel they were being negatively affected. Overall across all the data, when participants had to balance out two or more outside stressors, they felt their schoolwork was being negatively impacted. In conclusion, the results were in line with the hypothesis. Whether the stressor was work, childcare or sports each had some sort of an impact on schoolwork performance. The real truth about a person can be hidden, manipulated, sometimes even forgotten in the back of the person s very own mind. This truth is masked, and it is not always easy to be unearthed. But this is ordinary. There is not one person on this planet that does not have a sort of mask, some sort of truth or secret that is unknown to the people around them. People living before our generation, like the Himmlers, had secrets. People living now have secrets. I have secrets. It is natural for people to want to know everything about everything, but it s just not humanly possible. Griffin herself tried to discover some of the secrets of those who lived before her. She wanted to know what caused people to be who they turned out to be. Although she was able to find possible causes as to why someone did what they did, or said what they said, there was not much solid evidence to go off of. Past reforms on public expenditure management have not worked well as the executive arm of the government has consistently failed to act on various recommendations of the watchdog institutions on the mismanagement of public funds. Similarly, the stated war against corruption, which is rampant in the public expenditure management, is yet to be won mainly due to legal technicalities encountered in trying to establish an effective and independent anti corruption authority. This brings up the evil deceiver argument. If we can only know that our existence is real, who is to say that there is not an outside force that makes of the rest of our reality that we supposedly live? If our dreams are just distorted pieces of our reality and our reality is merely a show put on by the evil deceiver, we know for certain we cannot base our beliefs on what we see and the tools unto which we use to perceive it; i.e. extension, hands, and eyes. Conclusion Descartes makes it clear that we cannot be certain of anything. The method of doubt brings us to understand this better by giving a set of guidelines to follow to systematically understand and get closer to some kind of truth. By trying to find some truth to base all thoughts on, Descartes tried to find an absolute truth by coming to the realization that nothing he believed was of any truth. Although not finding much truth in his journeys, he found a systematic way to come closer to finding truth. Descartes was presented with a problem of not knowing anything, and by creating the method of doubt he came closer to finding the truth. Works Cited Page Durant, Will Ariel. (1961). He showed how sudden injection of credit into economy could cause changes in the relative prices between goods and lead to overinvestment that cannot be maintained. When money and credit vary, it sets up a train of events which draws resources into places where they would not normally go. In particular, an increase in credit stimulates investment (Butler, 8). Thus, Hayek shows that it is a response to the false signal of new credit being created, and therefore this investment cannot be maintained. Hayek concentrates on the initial disturbance that starts a cycle. It is used to create new bank credit in the shape of unwarranted advances to enterprises. He considers money (credit) as a factor to explain the cycle theory. The elasticity of the money supply (MV) is what allows and facilitates the disequilibria of business cycles. By expanding the currency, malinvestments in capital are generated, which are not productive enough to be maintained (Haney, 681). Having said this, Hayek makes two points here. He talks about voluntary saving and enterprisers anticipation of rising prices. The former is concerned with the changes in capital structure brought about by changes in the volume of money. It is the difference between voluntary saving and the creation of new credit currency by banks. In particular, Hayek describes the self reversing real effects of credit expansion. He states ... • 30. Texas Rangers Research Paper The Texas Rangers (52 53) will resume their three games series with the Houston Astros (60 47) on Tuesday evening in Arlington, hoping to build off their win last night . Jeff Banister will turn to previous staff ace Yovani Gallardo (7 9, 3.39 ERA) and the Houston Astros will counter with 26 year old Dan Straily (0 0, 5.06 ERA). Fox Sports Southwest will broadcast the game live locally, and MLB.tv subscribers can watch worldwide on connected devices. Tonight the Rangers will be hoping for a strong performance from Gallardo and if he can turn one in then the Rangers will have a great shot at winning the series. Gallardo has struggled lately though, giving up five earned runs in each of his past three starts. On July 19th, just three short starts ago, Gallardo pitched an uninspiring four innings of ten hit ball, allowing seven earned runs against this Astros team. The Astros have been swinging the bats well as of late as the Rangers saw last night and they ll certainly be confident heading into tonight. If Gallardo does have one thing going for him, it s that he usually keeps the ball in the park. In his last ten starts he has only given up three home runs, two of which did come in his last start though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was supposed to be Mike Fiers but Houston manager A.J. Hinch opted to use him out of the pen last night. Straily has only made two starts this year, both of which coming in early July. He wasn t overly impressive in either of them, allowing four earned runs and two earned runs respectively. In Straily you can expect a fastball in the lower 90 s to the upper 80 s and a slider and changeup to keep hitters off balance. He certainly won t blow anything by Rangers hitters tonight, but rather he ll try and paint the corners and get hitters to chase out of the strike zone. In Triple A he had a 3.65 ERA over 17 outings and I look for Rangers hitters to get after him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Contextual Theory Of Interethnic Communication Theory The distinction of the differences or similarities between the communicator and conversational partners can influence whether they chose to engage in association or dissociation. These dissimilarities and resemblances help to shape our perceptions of each other. Through the analysis of ethnic proximity, ethnic distance, shared goal structure, separate goal structure, and personal network integration, the situation layer of Kim s Interethnic Theory will be explored. A Contextual Theory of Interethnic Communication As conceptualized by Young Yun Kim, the interethnic communication theory describes the multifaceted layers and factors in communication event. Described as an open system, interethnic communication occurs between communicators and their interactant(s) who possess characteristic similarities or differences in terms of their ethnic or identity markers (Kim, 2005). There are four layers to her theory: behavior, communicator, situation, and environment. All of these layers contribute to how the communicator and their interactant decides to interact, whether it is associative or dissociative. This paper will focus on the situation layer. Implanted between the environment and communicator layer, the situation layer represents the interethnic encounter itself (Kim, 2005, p. 334). Essentially, it is describing the interaction between the communicator and their conversational partner(s). In this context, the communication can take form in many ways (e.g., verbal, ... While being an adaptation of Stoker s work, the films main anti hero is seperate ways. Dracula is suave while Count Orlok is depicted as a monster would be imagined. Orlok is seen as decrepit and much more frightenting. This adds a sense of realism in that he is a monster and acts as such. The film is simmilar to The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari. It is simmilar because the are expressionist films, and not because they are soundless and in greyscale. The transition period after World War I created Germany s expressionist film industry. The feelings of horror and despair that most of the country felt after the war were projected onto this art style. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Blue symbolized the dark nights, where Count Orlok would spend most of his screen time active. Red symbolized the bright days, in which there were an abundance of people moving around, and finnaly the dissentrigation of the Count. The symbolism in film went much further than that as well. Where the scenes using low key lighting implied great evil, such as the shadowy figure of the Count in his castle as it became night. Scenes with high key lighting symbolized good, such as when Ellen is baiting Orlok. A reccuring type of camera shot was the low angel shot that Count Orlok framed in. It made his figure seem much more ominious and dangerous. He seemed much more lanky and when he would stare into the camera, it would drive a sense of fear into the watcher. Sound in the film was used to set the mood of scenes quite well. In the more relaxed parts, there would be an upbeat melody. • 34. Literary Devices In Out, Out By Robert Frost The fun of using a chain saw is something anyone could enjoy. The feeling of power it gives, the mess it makes, and the speed it has, but also the potential danger. This danger begs the question; should children be allowed to use one? The poem Out, Out by published, and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Robert Frost acknowledges a substantial crisis that was occurring at the time it was written. The poem was published in 1916, and addresses the terrible labor conditions that children of the time were being subjected to. While doing so he illustrates the idea that children were seen as expendable. The poem tells the story of a young boy cutting firewood with a chainsaw in the evening. When his sister comes to tell him it is time for dinner the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, not much has changed in the hearts of people. The world still contains little empathy, or sympathy. This does not mean that all people feel this way, but little has changed since 1916. One positive fact to note is that because of child labor laws the events of this poem can remain only in poems and stories, and out of the news, at least in the United States and other first world nations. However, in terms of adults caring for each other little has changed, people still do little to help others. Not everyone is this way though, and the world would be a better place if others would follow in their footsteps. For example, rather than shaming the poor people could help them get jobs, or instead of laughing at people s problems they could help each other get through them. Perhaps after that Frost s poem could become irrelevant and could instead be used as a reminder of how the world used to be, and how much better off people are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
